Cannot import a set of comments in the PDF to a Word document
I'm desperately trying to import a set of comments in a PDF to a Word document and cannot do so in Acrobat9. Time is of the essence. I keep getting the following message:
When PDF was created, the content and it was not tagged. exporting comments into a Word document will only work if the PDF is a tagged PDF.
To create a tagged PDF, you must select "change conversion settings" from the Adobe PDF menu, and check the box labeled "enable accessibility and reflow with tagged PDF."
I had no idea where to look to make this change--where is the Adobe PDF menu??? I tried doing research in the Adobe help information, and it directs me to go to: advanced > Accessibility > Add tags document. However when I click these menu items, the menu item "add tags to document" is gray and cannot be selected.
So now I've got a 1200-page draft filled with comments and I can't get them to the owner. I'd appreciate anybody's help. I never had a problem importing comments in previous releases of Adobe Acrobat.
Just to add a bit more information:
We use a tool called the Arbortext Editor to write our source and use the transform tool to automatically create a PDF of the source.

I have upgraded to Pages 5.0.1 and now I cannot print or pass along "comments" in the text of a document. I previously was able to convert the Pages document, with comments, to a "Word" document so that others could view the edited text. How do I do that?
When you installed Pages v5, it automatically moved the older Pages ’09 v4.3 into /Applications/iWork '09 folder. If you want normal comment interoperability, you are advised to resume using the older version of Pages. Newer, is certainly not better with Pages v5.

How do I set Preview to be the PDF defult reader?
How do I set Preview to be the PDF defult reader?
Thanks T P I got this from your search: http://osxdaily.com/2011/10/31/set-default-pdf-viewer-mac-os-x/
for others here is the answer.
If you’ve downloaded Adobe Acrobat on the Mac you’ve probably discovered that it takes overPreview as the default PDF viewer in OS X, which is annoying because Acrobat is slow to load and a fairly bloated application. There’s little need to use Acrobat Reader as the way to view PDF files, so here’s how to change it back to Preview.
Change the Default PDF Viewer in Mac OS X
From the Mac OS X desktop, find a PDF file and hit Command+i to “Get Info” on the file
Click on the arrow next to “Open with:” to expand and access the default application list
Click the pull-down menu and choose “Preview” from the list, or if it’s not visible, navigate to it by choosing “Other”
With Preview.app selected, click on the “Change All” button
This will restore the leaner and very capable Preview app as the default PDF viewer in OS X and prevent the lengthy launch of Acrobat anytime a PDF is opened. This tip will be of less use if you need the full functioned Acrobat version, but for the average person just looking to quickly open pdf docs this can be a significant time saver.
If you want a quick PDF file to use for this tip, you can grab the Apple history book “The Macintosh Way” for free (direct PDF link). -
So, I'm a little new to PowerShell and I came across a PowerShell which allow me to copy the content od a spreadsheet, into the new message in Outlook 2007. I have search and search on a way to do the same with a Word Document. I would like to
create a PowerShell Script that copies the content of a Word Document and paste that content in an email message.
I am basing my script on this
#Create and get my Word Obj
$w1 = New-Object -comobject Word.Application
$w1.Visible = $True
$UserWord = $w1.Workbooks.Open("C:\Users\hhhh\Documents\Powershell\test.docx")
#create outlook Object
$Outlook = New-Object -comObject Outlook.Application
$Mail = $Outlook.CreateItem(0)
$Mail.SentOnBehalfOfName = "[email protected]"
$Mail.Recipients.Add("[email protected]")
#Add the text part I want to display first
$Mail.Subject = "Test email"
$Mail.Body = "My Comment on the Excel Spreadsheet"
#Then Copy the Word using parameters to format it
$Mail.Getinspector.WordEditor.Range().PasteExcelTable($true,$false,$false)
#Then it becomes possible to insert text before
$wdDoc = $Mail.Getinspector.WordEditor
$wdRange = $wdDoc.Range()
$Mail.Display()
Any Help would be great! My requirements are the Word documents are a template of sorts. The document will be changes prior to its email with some changes. The other twist is that the customer might more that one recipients, and each recipient will have to have a separate
email, with the same content of the word document.
For example: Say I'm doing maintenance. The Word doc might descript that maintenance, in a set format. Once save the script is run to generate 3 to 10 email with separate recipients with the body of the email containing what was in the Word document. -
How to export a PDF to a word document? at the moment it came up with "The encoding (CMap) specified by a font is missing ????? what can I do? thanks
Hi frenchiem,
This is due to the PDF file cannot display the original fonts. To fix it, creator should create the PDF file with the embed font option enabled. Thus, user can open the file on any platform with the same layout. Or the Acrobat product can display them after you install the appropriate font support package on the client side.

When I copy text from a .pdf to a Word document, all words containing the combination 'tt' or 'ti' come up as blank boxes,or question marks. How can I correct this?
To comment a bit further, several letter combinations like tt and ti as well as many combinations with f are given as a single character in some languages and apparently you do not have that special character on your system.

I need to convert PDF file to Word Document, so it can be edited. But the recognizing text options do not have the language that I need. How I can convert the file in the desired of me language?
The application Acrobat provides no language translation capability.
If you localize the language for OS, MS Office applications, Acrobat, etc to the desired language try again.
Alternative: transfer a copy of content into a web based translation service (Bing or Google provides a free service).
Transfer the output into a word processing program that is localized to the appropriate language.
Do cleanup.

Hello, SoonerAnesthetist.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here is an article that I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue.

I just installed the free trial Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and it is not allowing me to freely convert a pdf to a word document????!!!! Why is this? Does anyone have this problem?
When you report a problem you should always try to include as much relevant information as possible. Saying "it doesn't work, help me!" is not very helpful to us, because there could be a million reasons for it not working... What exactly happens when you try to convert a PDF to Word? Are there any error messages? How exactly are you trying to do it? Also, what operating system do you use? What version of Word? What exactly version of Acrobat? etc.

I've become increasingly frustrated with the ipad adobe app. I've subscribed to be able to convert my pdf files into word documents and it has yet to work I've paid for a service that does not work which in turn makes me a disgruntled customer to say the least very disappointed with such horrible service
Which service did you subscribe to? Adobe PDF Pack?
Once I know the service that you subscribed to, I can move this post to the right forum so that you can get in touch with the folks who can assist you. -
Problems converting PDF to MS Word document. I successfully converted 4 files and now subsequent files generate a "conversion failure" error when attempting to convert the file. I have a large manuscript and I separated each chapter to assist with the conversion; like I said, first 4 parts no problem, then conversion failure. I attempted to convert the entire document and same result. I specifically purchased the export to Word feature. Please assist. I initially had to export the Word Perfect document into PDF and attempting to go from PDF to MS Word.
Hi sdr2014,
I'm sorry to hear your conversion process has stalled. It sounds as though the problem isn't specific to one file, as you've been unable to convert anything since the first four chapters converted successfully.
So, let's try this:
If you're converting via the ExportPDF website, please log out, clear the browser cache, and then log back in. If you're using Reader, please choose Help > Check for Updates to make sure that you have the most current version installed.
Please let us know how it goes.
Best,

I purchased the package that allows you to export PDF files into Word files. Whenever I try to export the PDF into a Word file it never works... I don't know if there's something key that I'm missing but I'm pretty bummed I paid for it and it won't work. Can anybody help me out?
Hello,
I have paid for this service for a year and it never worked on my computer. I just renewed and it finally converted the file but it will not let me edit it. I join you in being bummed. Either I get help with this or I am asking for a 2 year refund. My intention was to be able to edit a pdf in MS Word.

How do I stop the spinning wheel that replaced the cursor in a Word document?
How do I stop the spinning wheel that replaced the cursor in a Word document?
Something is causing Word to lock up. Restart the laptop and/or reinstall Office/Word to fix the instability. Maybe even a bad plugin or document could be causing this if it's only happening when you open a particular doc.
