Cannot initialize default script variable

Hello,
I am using Unified CCx Editor version 7.0(1.168). I created a script to be used instead of the system default script. According to the help file, "All script variables from the main script can initialize the default script variables, if the designer defines them using the same name and type". However, the variables in my default script are never initialized even though the same variables in the main script are changed before the main script terminates. I made sure they have the same name and type, but the values in the default script remain unchanged.
All the variables I am trying to pass are of type String, and initially they are all set to the empty string "" in both scripts.
Does anyone know what's wrong?
Thank you.

Hi
I'm not sure I understand what you are asking, but will try telling you this to see if it makes things clearer:
Basically the variables in each script (i.e. each .aef file) are unique to the .aef, there is no way to change a variable in one and have it directly affect the state of a variable in another. Even if you are looking at two executions of the same .aef script, the variables are unique/distinct instances; there is no concept of 'static' variables.

Aaron

  • Photoshop CC2014 does not launch. Error message ' cannot initialize photoshop because of program error

Hi, I get this error message (cannot initialize) after the splash screen.
I have chatted with Adobe staff and spoke to one. I have un-installed and re-installed, created new administrator and installed, fixed permissions, deleted preferences, you name it.
In previous chat on a forum I read about the PsErrorLog.txt file.
    Mine says:
    2014:08:23 10:50:20 : /Volumes/workarea/PS_15_Mac_Daily_Retail/20140730.r.148/photoshop/main/photoshop/sources/ UColorState.cpp : 737 : REQUIRE failed

I cannot locate the ColorSettings.csf in the photoshop preferences folder  and my System Preferences / displays / color says iMac.
Any tips how to solve this issue?

Either your default color settings files are corrupted, or they are missing (they're in the system application support folder).
Uninstalling and reinstalling should put the default files back in place.

  • JSP1.2 scripting variable! help!!

    JSP1.2 scripting variable! help!!
Posted by: Tony Liu on August 18, 2005 @ 03:06 PM
TOMCAT5/jsp1.2. I am using custom tag to expose a variableCthen a jsp script references an object that tag exposes. However, error happens to me always. "variable cannot be resolved". looks it cant expose the variable to jsp page.
    My code:
    TLD file:
    <variable>
    <name-from-attribute>method</name-from-attribute>
    <variable-class>java.lang.String</variable-class>
    <declare>true</declare>
    <scope>AT_BEGIN</scope>
    </variable>
    someTag.java
    pageContext.setAttribute("method",string1);
    somePage.jsp
    <%=method%>
    error:
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSP
An error occurred at line: 90 in the jsp file: /Tony/amvetsform.jsp
    Generated servlet error:
    method cannot be resolved

    org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:241)
    javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:802)
Who could let me know what's wrong with it? Bug from Tomcat? Or, I missed something to produce a scripting variable for jsp? It was supposed to be easy to expose a variable....
    Thanks in advance.
    Tony

    A bit more info please.
How are you using this with your tag?
The code from your JSP with
    - your custom tag being used
    - where it is in relation to your scriptlet expression.
The "name-from-attribute" means that the name of the created variable is defined by the "method" attribute of your tag.
    <my:tag method="theNameOfMyVariable">
      <%= theNameOfMyVariable %>
</my:tag>Where do you use the variable in relation to where the tag is?
Declaring it AT_BEGIN means that it is available from the start tag to the close of any enclosing custom tag.
It won't be a bug in Tomcat. Always assume it is a problem with your code. 99.99% of the time, that assumption is correct.
    Cheers,

  • Aborted Calls cause Default script to be invoked

    Hey all,
I have started to notice an issue recently. Our default script send callers to hunt groups - via a redirect to that hunt group trigger. So if anything goes wrong in the main script it will still get routed to an agent.
However recently this has happened several more times than normal, and I tracked down some of the culprits via running queries against the hunt group triggers and then seeing that particular callers path in contactcalldetail.
It appears on each instance that the caller was sent to the hunt group trigger was directly following a call record where the caller was redirected to another trigger and the contacttype was set to 4 (Aborted). How do i go about finding why the call was aborted? From my understanding of an aborted call, this means the caller hung up during a message being played to them(and will gets set as abandoned). I can call the same trigger that the caller was being redirected to and I have no issues with the call getting aborted and sent to hunt group trigger.
This seems to have happened across 4-5 different triggers, so I'm not seeing any real pattern. Has anyone had something like this happen? Or any idea how i can go further in troubleshooting this.
EDIT: We're using UCCX 8.5 Premium
    Thanks,
    Kevin.

To clarify, after digging some more....The leg of the call where it is Aborted shows a destinationdn that does NOT exist in UCCX as a trigger, OR as a cti rp in Call Manager.
This scenario seems to be what is causing the script to break and go to default script invoking the hunt group call. I've searched throughout the scripts and do not see this destination DN in any variables or within code itself. What could prompt the system to try routing a caller to a non-existant route point?
I guess the next time this occurs I will collect server logs and open a TAC case.
    Thanks,
    Kevin.

  • Cannot initialize JVM

Hello, am reinstalling Oracle 9i on a machine that previously ran it with no problems. Now, after I cleaned up this machine and am ready for a clean install I try to run the universal installer, I get "cannot initialize JVM"
Enviro is win2000 Server on PentiumIII.
    Please help,
    Kind regards
    dp

I occasionally get the same message. I alternately get another message (see below)
I installed the Designer Release 4.1.1 and get these problems such that any Java based tools in Designer/Repository throw these errors. An associate installed Repository 4.1 and he is able to run.
I compared his registry settings against mine and found what I believe are the JVM HOME (actually it was JRE_HOME) and JVM_CLASSPATH variables that the software complained about, but could fing nothing wrong.

  • When I open Remote Desktop Connection, it reads "cannot open default.rdp".  What can I do to fix this?

Hi, when I open RDP on my iMac, it reads "cannot open default.rdp" and it never saves my preferences or connections.  It resets after each launch.
How do I go about fixing this?
    UPDATE and FIX
I went to the Finder menu, clicked on GO, held down Option (Alt) to bring up the Library.
In the Library, I browsed to Preferences, found the com.microsoft.rdp plist and deleted it. Then I emptied my Trash.  If you get an error saying rdp plist is in use and cannot be deleted, quit out of RDP or reboot the machine (if quitting RDP doesn't work).
Also, there was a permissions issue.  I browsed to the Applications folder, located the Microsoft Office folder, right clicked the folder (or CTRL click) and selected GET INFO.  First--In order to make any changes, authenticate with admin privileges using the lock icon (put in your username and password). From there (under Sharing & Permissions), I made sure my username (account currently logged in) and everyone had Read & Write privileges, then I clicked on the little gear icon (drop-down) and selected Apply to Enclosed items.
    Voila!
    This worked for me.

Actually, I still receive an error when I try to save the connections.
I get an error that reads
"Make sure that you have permission to write to the location where you want to save the file"
Any help with this would be great!

  • IPod is not displaying in iTunes or Windows; updater cannot initialize it

I have looked through ALL the relevant tutorials/manuals on my 2GB black, iPod nano, and they have not helped. The updater cannot initialize or even find my iPod, and an occassional autosearch window pops up. Please help.

It´s really sad that the following info is not posted on Apple´s support sites:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=451219&tstart=15
My iPod had the same problem and reformatting it in Windows Explorer (NO Quickformat!) fixed it. After this (took some time) the iPod Updater recognized the iPod again and I could restore the firmware. From then on I had no problems.
Apple: Please add this information to your official support pages since too many people have that problem.

  • Can't start FM 9 on Windows 7: "cannot initialize dictionaries"

I am trying to move a copy of FM 9 from an old laptop to a new one running Windows 7 Enterprise. My IT guy reinstalled the software from CD and applied my license key. When I try to start FM, it gives this error during the "Core" startup: "FrameMaker cannot initialize its dictionaries. Either the LanguageDir entry specified in the initialization file is missing or incorrect, or the files in the LanguageDir are missing or corrupted."
I still have the old laptop, so I can compare and copy the files and directories directly. As far as I can see, the LanguageDir entry in the maker.ini is identical on both machines. Both have a dict folder, and I see the same number of files in both. Just for good measure I copied the old folder's contents across to the new folder, but that didn't help.

Very good that you found the cause. I remember now that it was recommended to copy the installation files to your hard disk. See the FrameMaker online help:

Create a formula to initialize the shared variable value and place it in appropriate section of the Main Report based on the section in which you are displaying shared variable value of the Subreport."  (post from Poonam Thorat 7/7/08)
This is a solution to my problem.  However, I'm not sure how to initialize the shared variable value nor do I know where to place it in the appropriate section of the main report.  Therefore, what should the formula look like and where should it go in the main report?
Can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks much!

    Hello
Lets say you have a report like this
    Report Header
    Page Header
    Details
    Report Footer
    Page Footer
If you want to create and initialise a shared variable, create a formula like this
For this example call this forumula Rate
    whileprintingrecords;
shared numbervar Rate := 1.5; // this can also be a field
If you needed to use this shared variable in the Details section, then you would place the Rate formula in the Report Header, or Page Header (above Details so that it is created before the Details section is created)
In details lets say you have some other calculation - Commission
The Commission formula would look like this
    whileprintingrecords;
shared numbervar Rate; // a shared variable must be referenced in each formula that it will be used.  It is NOT being initialised or set to any value here, just referenced
    {table.fieldname} * Rate
Place the Commission formula in the Details section and Rate will be for each record in the report
The same process applies for passing values from main report to sub report and vice versa
There is also plenty of info in the Help and online about using shared variables
    Best regards
    Patrick
