Cannot install ZfD65 SP2

Scenario:
NW 6.5 SP5
ZfD 6.5 SP2
Issue:
I have a server running ZfD imaging and wks import/removal.
This server runs ZfD 6.5 SP2.
Now I also need to install Inventory services from my product CD.
But installing ZfD Inventory services from the product CD
degrades ZfD 6.5 back to v6.5.0.4, while it before Inventory install was
running v6.5.2.0 (SP2 installed).
I therefore need to reinstall SP2, but installation fails, stating that either I'm not
logged in with proper rights (although logged in as admin), or ZfD is not installed
on the server.
I have tried all possible combinations of the registry settings described in TID 10098135,
and I have also tried to install SP1a before SP2, but nothing helps.
Looking at the ZfDDebug.log, the last lines in the log are:
SelectProductsPage: Adding IMAGE_FS1.ADM.HAMAR_KOMMUNE to valid Servers
SelectProductsPage: Number of valid servers = 1
SelectProductsPage: server [0] = HAMAR_TREE IMAGE_FS1.ADM.HAMAR_KOMMUNE 6 IMAGE_FS1
SelectProductsPage: Attempting to authenticate to IMAGE_FS1
SelectProductsPage: Authenticated to IMAGE_FS1
getZenworksVersion: Attempting to get zenworks version from IMAGE_FS1
getTextFile: \\IMAGE_FS1\SYS\System\zenquery.out
But the file zenquery.out does not exist anywhere...
It seems as if the SP2 installer cannot determine whether ZfD is installed in the server at all,
or that the version cannot be read out.
I have revived the tftp imaging services via salvage, but i fear that there ar far more
files that hav been set back to v6.5.0.4 insted of the correct (and actually installed) v6.5.2.0.
What must I do in order to reinstall ZfD 6.5 SP2 again?
And why is there not any updated product CD iso-file including SP2 to download?
Every download are old iso images...
Please help!

  • Cannot install Photoshop CS4 on Windows Vista Business

Ok people, looking for some help with this.  I have a new PC (less than 2 months old).  I cannot get Photoshop CS4 installed at all.  I'm sure there have been a million threads like this before asking the same question.  Although I am a newb to Photoshop I am certainly not when it comes to computers, this is what I do for a living.  I can't even believe I am actually having to ask for help.... :\
Anyway, help appreciated.  I have Windows Vista Business SP1 (32-bit), and its running on a Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2.5GHz with 4 gig of RAM.  I have plenty of free space on my hard drives.
When the install completes, I get the same error message, installed with errors.  When I click to see the error info it says something about language packs (I can get the exact error if you want, just installed and uninstalled about 10 times but hey).
Things I have tried a few times have been to follow through all the other threads and the Adobe support pages - Uninstalling the product through Programs first, running Windows Install Cleanup, running the Adobe CS4 Clean Script - when I do these things in this order both of the cleanup utilities don't find any installs of Photoshop CS4, so it doesn't appear they are doing anything.  I have disabled everything on the PC, done a selective startup, turned off UAC, firewall, anti-virus - everything suggested.  Still, the same error persists.
I have even run my Registry Mechanic and cleaned up that, and of course checked registry permissions etc.  Please help!

You may want to install Vista SP2. It contains a lot of fixes and has the newer 4.5 installer.
Also if Vista is set for English then CS4 has to be set as US English upon install (I think someone already pointed that out).
Before install go services and set the windows installer to auto and start it. Also good idea to turn off windows defender.
Go to MSconfig and turnoff as many start up items that you don't need running (you will have to reboot).
Ensure nothing Adobe related is running in the back ground before install. (someone already mention this I think)
Anti-virus: I turned mine off during install.
I did not install AIR nor Device Central on my system as I would never use them.

    Error 2.
Anyone else have any idea what might be causing my problem?  The other thing I was going to try was contacting Adobe support, but can I do this for the trial version?  When I tried to log a case it kept asking me to select my product, but I don't have one yet....
    Thanks.

  • Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra - cannot install firmware - PC says device "not connected&qu

Hi everyone,?Below is a message I've just sent to Customer Support, but I thought I'd also post it here in case anyone has any words of wisdom. Thanks in advance for your help. -- - Dear Madam or Sir,?Yesterday, I tried to connect my Zen Xtra to my PC to transfer some songs from Windows Media Player . WMP produced an error message stating that my PC had a driver for my Zen Xtra which is not supported by WMP. [This was the first time I had tried to Sync my Zen Xtra with WMP.]?I visited www.creative.com and tried to install the latest firmware for my Zen Xtra. The installation of the firmware froze and remained frozen for over an hour. Now the only thing that my Zen Xtra displays is Rescue Mode v.3. I cannot install any firmware at the moment, because the installation wizard keeps stating that my Zen Xtra is not connected to my PC. However, it IS connected and Windows XP detects it up as a "portable storage device." I have completely uninstalled all Creative products on my PC and reinstalled them using my original installation CD, but this has not helped matters. I cannot find any helpful articles in your Knowledge Base. I would be very grateful if you could provide some assistance in this matter. I have had several years of excellent usage from my Zen Xtra and I am extremely annoyed by this latest development. Not only did the firmware upgrade process require me to delete all the data on my Zen Xtra, but now I seem to have a device which is not functioning at all. Many thanks.

I've received a reply from Creative [see below] which is, frankly, a bit insulting, because it suggests that they never even read my original message to them. Needless to say, I haven't been able to solve the problem. I've written back to them and told them that I'd appreciate further assistance. To top it all off,?I can't even format the Zen Xtra so that I can simply use it as an external hard dri've. Does ANYONE have any advice on this matter? Am I simply supposed to accept that I have a defunct MP3 player on my hands?-- - REPLY FROM CREATIVE?** Kindly read till the end of this email before attempting to
    troubleshoot.
While allowing your Zen player to run in Recovery Mode (if possible),
conduct a Clean-Up followed by Reboot.
The link below will guide you on how to run your player in Recovery
    Mode.

** You may first wish to back-up your files/data/mp3 in your player (if
possible) as updating the firmware may result in a loss of all these
    files.
Following which, you may wish to use the function ?Search by File Name
or Model Number? to locate <<ZenXtraP4SAudible_PCFW_LB_2_0_03.exe>> for
download followed by an update of the firmware onto your player (and
monitor if it responds positi'vely to the update) via this link at:
    http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/
Before updating the firmware, you may also like to conduct a check to
see if Windows XP SP 2 has been installed (in your computer) under
    Control Panel\System\General.
The download for Windows XP SP2 is available at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
If your computer prompts that it ?does not detect? your player, you may
check if your player is actually connected to your computer via Control
    Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager.
You may also wish to remove any unnecessary USB connections from your
computer while charging/updating of firmware and connecting your player
to a USB port (rather than a USB hub) at the rear of your computer.
If your computer happens to already have been updated with the latest
Windows Media Player , you may wish troubleshoot this problem while
referring to this step-by-step link below at:

Yes, I have a few different versions of windows to try, and two are straight OEM discs.
When I let the Mac try to boot up automagically into setup, I get a rotation of the ? folder, the (/) prohibited sign and the Mac face.
When I hold down option it sometimes sees the Windows disc sometimes not, but choosing it (when I see it) gives me the same cycle of no-go. (See above)
When I try to use an alternate boot method such as rEFIt, I get the firmware errors which makes me think that the problem does not lie within the discs.
The MacBook is on 10.6.latest right now.

Hi guys,I cannot install itunes on my home pc as says must have service pack 2 on windows XP when it uses windows installer to load the itunes program.I tried to install serv pack 2 but came up with invalid product key.I assume as it is a copied windows operating system, there is a conflict.
My quest is do i have to buy a new operating system to install the itunes program or is there a work around ??.Thanks for your help in advance.
    Cheers
    brian

If you're using a pirated version of Windows, we cannot help you here. Go out and buy a full, legal copy of Windows and reinstall. Then you should have no problems getting SP2 and then installing iTunes.
If you have a legal copy of Windows, you will have to reinstall from the installation CD as the install check from Microsoft clearly doesn't recognize that you have a valid installation.

  • Cannot install Adobe Acrobat Pro on Windows XP

    Good day,
I cannot install Adobe Acrobat Pro on my windows XP machine with SP2 and the latest updates.
The error says that the software cannot be installed on the Operating system, please see minimum requirements. I meet all these but cannot install
I saw a similar question posted on the forums but it is unanswered.
    Please assist me.

    Hi,
This link has the minimum system requirements for Acrobat 10 Pro : Acrobat X Pro Tech Specs
On Windows XP, the minimum requirement is SP3 for 32 bit. I would recommend that you update to SP3 by running Windows Update and then reinstall the application.

  • Cannot install win xp by boot camp

acturally, I install the Win Xp sp2 before, but I found the network very unstable, so I uninstall it. and the HD has already separated in two parts. however, when I want to install the win xp sp2 again, the Boot Camp showed that it cannot install in the HD which has two parts. to , How can I combin the two parts as original? use boot camp or others? thank you so much`!!

My guess is you deleted the Windows OS not using Boot Camp Assistant (which for future reference is the easiest way to to do it) & now you have an empty partition plus the normal OS X one, what you call 'separated parts.'
If so, just as the Boot Camp documentation mentions, Boot Camp Assistant will refuse to set up the drive for Windows since it only does this for a drive with a single OS X partition.
One simple solution is to run Disk Utility, select your HD from the list (not the volume name like "Macintosh HD" indented under it), & click on the "Partitions" tab. Locate the empty Windows partition in the window -- it should be the lower one of the two you see -- & click the minus button to remove it. Then drag the tab at the bottom right of the OS X partition down all the way to the bottom so that it uses all the space the just deleted partition occupied. Click Apply, wait for the procedure to end, & quit Disk Utility.
Now run Boot Camp Assistant again, following the instructions in the documentation, & it should be fine.

    How's your German?
    Click
    here.
The only answer I can find is in German but hopefully someone
can help you with that. Also Dirk Bock responded to that post on
the German forum but he also hangs around here so perhaps he will
    see this and help you.
Do you have admin rights on the PC to which you are trying to
install? RH will install install without them but not work
properly. Perhaps 1 Step will not install without those rights.
Also, you have problems with the full version of 1 Step, then
Customer Support will most likely upgrade you to FlashPaper which
    includes a PDF function.

  • New ipod - "cannot install this hardware" and "access is denied"

Over the weekend I got a new iPod Video. Previously I had an iPod Photo. This new one plugged in just fine on my two computers at home but will not install to my work computer.
It will work as I can play and transfer files through iTunes, but everytime I plug it in I get USB errors:
"Windows cannot install this hardware - access is denied"
In the Device Manager it gives me a "Code 28"
Like I said, it does seem to work, I just want to make sure this isn't going to screw anything up when I plug in each day and get these errors.

iPods use the standard Windows USB mass storage drivers. it is possible for those to go walkabout on a PC. if that is what has happened to you, the techniques from this MarkJones post may be of some assistance:
MarkJones: Re: Windows XP (SP2) Laptop only finds generic "New USB 2.0 Device"

  • Cannot Install This Hardware (audigy 2 zs gam

i have a Sony vaio pcv-rx650, xp home sp2, plenty of pci slots, updated chipset(motherboard), updated bios, and every other update i can find find on sony /microsoft support. yet from the first time i tried to install my sound card following the instructions i have Ben getting the same two basic errors.
the instructions say to install the soundcard, turn on computer, cancel "hardware update wizard", insert disc and follow instructions.
. when canceling the update wizard it tries to install the card anyways. not once but three times: Multimedia Audio Controller, IEEE 394 Controller, and PCI Input Device. at the end of which it says "Problem with hardware cannot install". alright no problem I'm not done with the instructions but it didn't say anything about this.
    2. I go through the lengthy driver software install only to receive an error with driver install. it reads"Cannot Install This Hardware. there was a problem installing this hardware: Multimedia Audio Controller. An error occurred during the installation of the device. The Data Is Invalid" this little phrase has become the bane of my existence.
Naturally i seek out alternati'ves. i uninstall every last reference to software i can find. after talking by e-mail with the support people i tried the CTZAPXX.exe method using msconfig during to avoid conflicts....
Now i have tried this method with drivers that shipped with the card i have also tried it with the web update drivers even the new one that just came out that combine the two old ones. i have even tried a whole new card just in case it was broken. i have searched all over sony's web site for anyone else that is having this problem and found no one. i have gone into the bios and disabled the onboard soundcard and all non essential ports. i have even tried toggling every setting that the knowledge base suggested(that i could find). yet everytime its the same. new hardware is detected multimedia, IEEE, PCI input all three. and always the same error exclamations in device manager before i can even begin to install the drivers. when i try to install the card using hardware wizard it recognizes it as a SB Audigy sound card but when the drivers are finished installing the same error comes up "the data is invalid".
why does this keep happening. i have never had this much trouble with any hardware on any computer ever. this is more frustrating than i can express in an e-mail. its been months now. i really want my audigy obviously. but i am at an impasse.

I've the same problem here: "Data Is Invalid"
I've spent -read wasted- an inordinate number of hours troubleshooting this.
So far, installing the Audigy 2 ZS is impossible for me on WinXP Pro SP2.
What have I attempted so far?
    * Clean install of OS w/SP2 with and without soundcard in a PCI slot.
    * Tried all PCI slots.
    * Installed downloadable drivers, in correct order.
    * Installed from CD, "drivers only" AND full install of everything under the ZS category.
    * Tried the PNPREG.EXE -l business... nada.
    * Onboard audio disabled in BIOS.
    * BIOS told that OS was and was NOT PnP.
    * Uninstall/reinstall of drivers in "Normal" Windows and Safe Mode.
    * Device manager driver update with both CD and extracted downloaded drivers.
    * CTZAPXX.exe on both install and uninstall modes.
Every time, the install process chokes when it gets to (WDM) WDMAUD.DRV
Still the Device Manager bang sits there on "Multimedia Audio Controller". Searches on MS Technet with combination of keywords Audigy, driver, error and SP2 yield nothing of use.
I DID find a way to install the card- Only have SPa installed on Windows.
This is unacceptable and it is not justified not having SP2 installed just because of one lousy driver for an audio card.
I believe my only hope of success is to install, again, Windows with SPa only and ensure the card works... then install the SP2 package.
Assistance would be _greatly_ appreciated. All drivers on computer are current and official, and BIOS is current. No overclocking either. I'm not really interested in selling this audio card, but...
    Best regards-

I cannot neither remove nor reinstall power saver. Can I try to run power saver for Windows XP SP2 applicable for other laptop models? I could not find the one for my model. Which one will fit? Any other solutions/advises to the problem?
    Please, help
    Thank you a lot, Oksana

    Hi
First of all you have to known that this notebook was designed for the US market and all drivers, tools or any other Toshiba utilities should be used from the Toshiba US website.
    http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp
Please ensure that you have already installed Toshiba ACPI Common Modules before you will continue with any further Toshiba software installation.
One important hint; the Toshiba power saver profile must be chosen in the Windows power options!!! Dont forget this!!!
