Cannot locate or import video shot on iPhone 4s to my PC?

I shot a 32 minute video at my neice's birthday party on my iPhone 4S.
I have read the other threads about how it's difficult to import "large" video files from the iPhone to your computer, but my problem is also that when I plug my iPhone into my PC, the video does not even show up!?  I have 5 self-shot videos in total on my phone - 4 of these videos show up on my PC when I connect but this one of the party, the largest video file, is not showing up in my windows explorer window.  (FYI - I have a laptop with Windows XP)
I even unplugged my phone and double checked the video hadn't been deleted.  I just watched it start to finish with no problem on my phone.
Any help would be appreciated!  I was really hoping to transfer these videos to put on a DVD for my familyi?!!

I can't seem to import videos shot with my friend's iphone 5 to Adobe Premiere Pro 5.5. However, out of all the videos shot (94 in total), i managed to import 4 of them.
    What premiere pro says.
This is the details of one of the many videos that CAN'T be imported into Adobe Premiere Pro.
The one that CAN be imported
The only difference is the resolution.

When I import video from my iphone to imovie it doesnt look right, it makes everyone look wider and shorter. Is there a way to fix this?

This is close.  I did a bit more digging I have found a few more things.   It appears that the input dialog is a read once on connect and then it never updates.  I had my iPhone connected to my Mac when I did my convert from FILMiC Pro to my Camera Roll.  Just on a whim, I dissconnected my iPhone with FCPX open and then connected it again.  This time when I opened up the Import window the movie I converted showed up.   It appears my issue may have simply been related to the specific series of operations that I happened to use at the time I was trying to perform an import to FCPX.
One last item of note.  There is a movie in my Camera Roll that FCPX still does not see.  This was a movie shot by my son-in-law of my grandaughter on his iPhone and then it was sent, via message, to my iPhone.  Obviously it is a highly compressed video of unknown compression and frame rate.   Regardless, FCPX does not see this video.  I'm guessing it is not a .mov quicktime file but some other format specific to imessage video.
Thanks for the help Russ.  It at least pointed me in the right direction.  I understand why no one else could comment as I'm guessing no one else has had an issue.  A very subtle "feature".

  • Why did frame rate of video shot on iphone 5 change from 30 fps to 24 fps?

Why did frame rate of video shot on iphone 5 change from 30 fps to 24 fps?

My understanding (which could be wrong) is that the iPhone shoots video with a variable frame rate. This is likely so it can optimize video for FaceTime. So uncomplicated scenes can be shot with a lower framerate, and active scenes will be shot with a higher framerate.

  • HT2729 After import video,s from iphone to HP com puter all the video,s are sideways, how to fix this ?

After import video,s from iphone 5 to a HP computer (Windows 7 ) all the video,s are sideways ! No problem with ipad4 Newest)
    How to fix this!

Check to see if the phone has enough free space on it.  Go to Settings->About on you iPhone and see how much free space there is.  It's likely that your phone is out of free space.  You could also try using a free peice of software called Pic Share It, to drag and drop the video directly to your iPhone wirelessly.  Here's a video showing how it works.

  • Lightroom 5.7 will not import video (.mov) from iPhone 5s- Windows 8.1 64bit

I am running Windows 8.1 64 bit and Lightroom 5.7.  I am trying to import video from my iPhone 5s (.mov).  After trying to import multiple times, now previews are not showing up.  I received the message, "The following files were not imported because they could not be read. (13)."  Then it lists the individual file numbers.  Where do we go from here?

There's a right way and a wrong way to fix this problem.
If you get tired of searching for the right way, consider using a script named
    'Import Any Video'
    free by me here:
    robcole.com - MiscLrScripts
If all goes well, it will be able to transcode it to a known good importable format, and then import the transcoded file instead. (the "right way" is to figure out how to get it to import the original file without transcoding).

  • Import video to my iPhone from another iMac , not mine

How can I import  video on my iphone from a friend's iMac ? Please help me ...

so there's a video on your friend's imac that you want to be on your phone? you can hook up your phone to sync that video to your phone through itunes, but you'll want to make sure you're not syncing any other information from his mac to your phone or it will replace your information with the info on his computer. make sure you disable autosyncing on his computer first. keep in mind, this is tricky because iphones are only meant to sync with one computer

  • Iphoto 9.5.1. will not play my imported videos from my iPhone 5

When iphonot 9.5.1. imports videos made on my iPhone 5 through iTunes, the videos import but will not play through iPhoto. Anyone know why? Thank you.

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
can you play the videos outside of iPhoto with Quicktime Player?
if you use iPhoto to import the videos directly will they play in iPhoto?
    what fixes have you tried?
    where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

  • Aperture cannot locate newly imported referenced images

My friend and I both use Aperture (3.4.3) on OSX 10.7.5.
She recently started having an issue when importing photos as referenced, with images stored on her external hard drive.
After importing, on all images she gets the red slash thru the 'referenced master' badge, indicating that Aperture cannot locate the master images. Aperture also refuses to reconnect with the master images. It's worth noting that all other images in her library are correctly "referenced" to the same external hard drive. The issue is with newly imported images.
The only solution thus far is for her to import as managed, then relocate original out to the external hard drive.
She has both repaired and rebuilt her Aperture library with no change.
She has run Disk Utility on both her external hard drive and her internal hard drive which contains her Aperture library. No errors were found.
Has anyone seen anything like this? Suggestions are welcome!

Have you verified file permissions on the external drive? To avoid permissions problems on an external disk, I just enable "Ignore Ownership" for the entire volume using the Get Info command for it. I do this only for non-boot data only volumes where Aperture libraries are stored. (Actually you can't do it for boot volumes anyway)
You'd think doing the Aperture repair commands would fix this but maybe it only fixes Managed libraries and the referenced files need to be done by the Finder.

  • IMovie for iPad not detecting video shot on iPhone 4

I recently purchased iMovie for iPad with the hope that I would be able to use video shot on my iPhone 4 but with no luck.. I have about 10 30sec clips and non of them appear in iMovies video "bin"
    Any ideas?

    Hi all
Found a really cool app called simpltransfer which allows you to transfer photos and video between iDevices!!
The app has a lite version (which allows you to transfer from within your 1st 50 files listed in your device's camera roll or photo library) for free download.
S now I can edit away on my iPad ... Soon to be uploaded to YouTube n Facebook for all my friends viewing pleasure!! LOL
More apps should have lite versions as trials!!! Too often I've paid the $1 or $2 only to be disappointed that the app does not live up to its claims ... Like 100 cameras in 1 for iPad.
Anyway .. Thanks for all the help!!

  • Video shot on iphone 5 playback choppy on iphone 5

When I shoot video on the iphone 5 and I play it back on the phone, it is choppy. This is a recent feature.     It was working fine until about a week ago ( that I noticed it. I have the 32 G phone with 22G on it.  Strangely, my iPad has stopped charging through a powerd hub it has used since August and there are some other weird things happening... all since the  IOS update.

    James,
I have heard the same thing about processing power, but the answer was vague and no one has told me anything definitive yet. However, I a cant afford to buy a new iMac, as much as I dearly want a new one, but I did upload my pics and vids to my mother in laws iMac (almost two years old running Lion) and they worked just fine. Why does this happen?!?!?!?  I don't know. I thought maybe the OSX only allows iPhoto a certain amount of processor power, but I opened them in QuickTime and they produced the same choppy effect. Probably some bit of code they sneak into iOS to make one have to buy a new iMac/MacBook. I wish, for the both of us, I had a better answer. Anywho, good luck and Godspeed in all your endeavors.
