Cannot sort the managed metadata values in refinement panel

1. I created a site column based on the managed metadata type named color.
2. I changed the managed property owstaxIdcolor to refinable:yes.
3. I added the managed property owstaxIdcolor in the refinement Web Part and request it to be sorted by name in ascending order.
4. The order stays displayed by number in the refinement panel. It doesn't want to show by alphabetical order. I already have used it with success on other types of column. Have you experience the same effect? Do you know how to obtain an alphabetical
order?

Hi,
As I noticed, you used OOB managed property owstaxIdcolor as refiner. Please locate something like ows_color in crawled property, and create a new managed property and map ows_color to it. Then use it as refiner and test the issue again.

  • The Managed Metadata Service or Connection is currently not available. The Application Pool or Managed Metadata Web Service may not have been started. Please Contact your Administrator.

    Hi,
I'm not able to access the term store. I get an below mentioned error.
"The Managed Metadata Service or Connection is currently not available. The Application Pool or Managed Metadata Web Service may not have been started. Please Contact your Administrator. "
Since this is happening on my local machine (Dev environment). I have full control on the term store and the all the site collections.
Hence, this is not a permission issue.
I have checked, the Metadata service is active on the machine. All the application pools in IIS is running.
After reading one of the recommendation on internet, I created a new Managed Metadata Service.
After which I was able access both (old and new) MMS from Central Admin only (highlight the MMS from manage service applications and click Manage ) and not from the site collection (term store management).
Now again its not working after I did an IISRESET.
The managed metadata service (Managed Metadata Service Connection) is grayed out.
    ULS Error says:
Failed to create ManageLink for service proxy 'Managed Metadata Service'. Exception: System.TimeoutException: The request channel timed out attempting to send after 00:00:09.9999999. Increase the timeout value passed to the call to Request or increase the SendTimeout

Please let me know if you need more information.

    Hi Victoria,
    Thanks for your reply
I tried making all the changes you had recommended and which are mentioned in the link you have provided.
I tried making all possible combination of changes to the web.config and client.config files but it does not make any difference to the environment.
One thing is that, my error in ULS logs has changed.
    Error 1:
Exception returned from back end service. System.TimeoutException: The request channel timed out attempting to send after 00:00:09.9999999. Increase the timeout value passed to the call to Request or increase the SendTimeout value on the Binding. The time allotted

  • Sorting the list of value like in BEX but out of crystal report

    All,
I have created a crystal report base on a BEX query where I have a variable for which  i am filtering base on a field period.fiscalyear.
for the list of values that prompt you for this variable ...
l in BEX we can do the sort by either alphabetical ascending order or descending alphabetical order such as:
    here is for ascending
    001.2008
    001.2009
or by clicking on it we can do the following: (descending)
    012.2009
    012.2009
however in crystal when refreshing the report in infoview it sorts the list of value base on the month
    something like this :
    JAN 2008 [0FISCPER].[K42008001]
    FEB 2008 [0FISCPER].[K42008002]
We would like to have in crystal the same behaviour than in BEX,  so in crystal we would like to be able to get the list of values sorted in either ascending order to descending order. is there a way to do so ?
notes also that we would like to avoid to create the variable in crystal
    Philippe

    Hi,
in Crystal Reports you have per InfoObject - depending on the definition - the key value, the description and the member unique name. In BW these objects are defined as NUMC in most cases - which means it is a character / string.
In your example the value is 001.2008 and 001.2009. What you can do in Crystal Reports is to split up the values into year and month and then sort based on the actual numbers.

  • Cannot see the manage dimension option

    Hi,
We have newly installed BPC for MS version in our place but we cannot see the manage dimension option in the BPC admin as shown in this screen shot http://wikisend.com/download/618558/BPC admin page.JPG
    May i know why?

    Hi,
This is normal... that mean your task profile for "BPCUser" doesn't offer the possibility to perform Administration tasks.
You should take a look to the Security Guide, in order to see if Primary Administrator or Secondary Administrator could be assigned to your users.
You can find all the guides under this link:
    http://help.sap.com/content/bobj/sbu/docu_sbs_bpc_design.htm
But in any case, the problem only comes from a task profile that doesn't allow Admin tasks.
    Hope it will help.
    Kind Regards,
    Patrick

  • The Managed Metadata Service or Connection is currently not available.

I've been trying to create new Managed Metadata services but get this error when trying to manage them:
The Managed Metadata Service or Connection is currently not available. The Application Pool or Managed Metadata Web Service may not have been started. Please Contact your Administrator.
I've checked that the application pool that the Metadata service uses is running and that the account it's running under is in the farm administrators group. I've checked that the WCF hotfix is applied on the system by re-downloading KB971831 (I have Windows 2K8 SP2) and trying to run it again but it says it doesn't apply to my system (as I had installed it before installing SharePOint)
I'm not sure what else to do - can anyone give any pointers?
    Thanks

  • Managed Metadata values scrambled when copying or moving documents from one Site collection to another.

    Hi
What works: Copy or move a document library containing one or more MM columns *within* a Site Collection = all column managed metadata replicated accurately.
What doesn't work: Copy or move a document library containing one or more MM columns *from one Site Collection to another* within the same Webapp. The issue is that some but not all MM values are totally wrong. By totally wrong I mean that the incorrect
terms are associated with a TermSet that is not even referenced in this DL!
Same result for all method's tried:
    1) Save the DL as a template (no contents) and then copy or move the documents in
    2) Programmatically do the copy
    3) Export the list via CA and then reimporting it using Pshell
This thread is very similar but his workaround has not helped in this instance:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/6aca7b7c-97cb-4f1f-99f1-5e1fa0b1e3ed/content-type-hub-custom-library-template-managed-metadata-lostscrambled-when-moving-files?forum=sharepointdevelopment#65b52342-408f-47b4-a9f8-5d0b952acc12
Has anyone else experienced this and found the cause/solution? Or can anyone do this without the issues that I have described?
    Thanks

    Hi Nuno,
I've got to the root of the issue but in answer to your question first: The MM column is attached to a Global Content Type - there is nothing local.
The fact that some are ok and others are not led me down the route of checking the columns at item level. Scripting this did not help - all rows returned are what I would expect. ie The same MMColName with the expected value (as appearing
    on the source DL).
On checking SharePoint manager however I have found what looks to be causing the issue.
When checking the properties (ie SiteCollection/Lists/<ListName>/items/<itemName>/Properties) of the 'good' documents against the 'bad' documents I find the following:
Good Docs: The MMColName is displayed as expected at the item level
    Field: Name
    Field:  Internal Name
    Item Properties:
    Ok?
    Partnership Type
    Partnership_x0020_Type
    Partnership Type
    Y
Bad Docs: The MMColName is NOT displayed as expected at the item level. Instead the internal name is displayed:
    Field: Name
    Field:  Internal Name
    Item Properties:
    Ok?
    Register Type
    Type_x0020_of_x0020_Licence
    Type_x0020_of_x0020_Licence
    N
    Meeting Type
    Meeting_x0020_Type
Meeting Type & Meeting_x0020_Type (Both columns are listed)
    N
I should add that each of these 3 examples are taken from 3 different DL's - hence the different Fields
So this looks to be a case of corruption - and unless we can think of any other outcome we will have to look to rebuild the DL - while trying to maintain the metadata!

  • How to clear the Managed Bean Values prior to load a JSF page

    Hello.
I have a jsf page that contains fields that need to be cleared BEFORE the page is loaded.
My managed bean where the fields are linked (Im using the value attribute) is in the SESSION scope because I need to control they values across a popup window and if I use request scope, my vectors that load objects like dataTable are cleared when I post the form.
    My question is :
How I CLEAR all the values in the managed bean BEFORE the page is loaded ???
In the WebForms (Microsoft .NET) I have an method on the codebehind called Page_Load where I put my initialization code for my page.
    Thanks in advance.
    Rogrio

    Rogrio,
You can do this with a PhaseListener. Just regiser a new listener for the RESTORE_VIEW phase, and implement the beforePhase method; you can do this in the backing bean's constructor, or somewhere elase. This is pretty much the same as the Page_Load event handler in .NET.

  • Is there an avilable Fix for the Managed metadata navigation Bug in sharePoint 2013

I am facing this bug on my "Publishing Site ---> enterprise wiki Template" inside SharePoint server 2013. and when i tried to specify the target page manually as mentioned in this link it did not work also.
    http://sadomovalex.blogspot.com/2013/04/managed-metadata-navigation-and_21.html
So i would like to know if SharePoint has applied any fix this this Big?
    BR

    Hi john,
For this issue, I can reproduce it in my test team site, I haven’t seen the CU update includes this issue.
So, I would suggest you to use the workaround, set a friendly url for the subsite in the term store management settings page as described in the blog.
    Thanks,

Mono isn't supported by the beta nor will it be supported in the first production release. Oracle will consider supporting Mono in a release after the first production release.

  • Cannot replicate the ring cells' value list on a table

    Hi,
I am trying to create a variable-size table/matrix of ring cells. The default value list is "0 (x)" and "1(P)", for binary purpose, specified in cell (1,1). When I insert a new row and/or colum on the table, It looks like the inserted cells does not inherit the specified value list "0 (x)" and "1(P)" from cell (1,1).
I have also tried the following options, but none of them works.
    (1) change the Table Mode (Edit Table -> Control Settings -> Table Mode) to either "row" or "column" from "grid"
    (2) use the parameter "VAL_USE_MASTER_CELL_TYPE" instead of ring type
    (3) search the forum but not clue found
Please also see the attached snapshot files, which show how the settings are set.
    (1) "snapshots_02_ring_list.jgp": specify the ring value list of cell(1,1)
    (2) "snapshots_03_edit_default_cell_values.jpg": I tried also to specify the default cell values in Control Settings (Edit Table -> Control Settings -> Edit Default Cell Values -> Ring/Combo Box Attributes), but the button "Value List" is greyed out.
    (3) "snapshot_04_cells.jpg": the created/inserted cells do not have the value lists
Here is the code piece for your information:
    // insert a few rows
    InsertTableRows(panel,PANEL_TABLE_CHKBRD, (iNumOfRowNow+1),iNumOfRowChange, VAL_USE_MASTER_CELL_TYPE);
    // draw the cells
    ProcessDrawEvents();
    // set the active row

You cannot inherit the ring values of a cell. This is why the Value List button is dimmed when you edit the default cell values of a column in the UI Editor.
You can use the InsertTableCellRingItem function to programmatically create the value list of any new cells that you add to the table. Or the InsertTableCellRangeRingItem function, if you want to do the same thing for multiple cells at once.
By the way, for items that can be inherited (i.e. cell attributes, as Wolfgang put it), inheritance does not happen from one cell to another. Depending on the table mode, inheritance happens from a column's default cell to new cells under that column, or from a row's default cell to new cells on that row, or from the table's default cell to all new cells.

  • What is the standard or best method of returning the manager attribute value as a DN (directory string type) to a MV attribute?

We have an SQL table which supplies authoritative HR data to FIM including the employee's manager HR id. Using the FIM and reference attributes we can stuff the manager on AD correctly.
BUT, this table is used by other systems and one column (varchar 128) is named AdManager and is supposed to hold the DN of the Manager e.g. cn=A Manager,ou=User Accounts...
The only way I can think of to get around this is to push the DN of each connected AD account into a indexed string MV attribute called adDN  flowing ad attribute dn -> mv attribute adDN. This is pushed onto the Portal into attribute adDN so the
idea is that every Portal user (including managers of employees) that has an AD account has his dn stored in adDN as a STRING.
When I want the managers dn... will this work on the Outbound sync rule attribute flow definition????
    source [//Target/Manager/AdDN]
    target AdManager
It seems so artificial there just has to be a better way.

    Hello Harold,
sounds good, thats "nearly" excatly the way I would do this.
But you can not do this directly in an OSR.
You have to do this with an workflow with the function evaluator and stor that Attribute on the user every time the Manager is changed.
After that you can have simple direct flows from MV to your HR Attribute.

try using flag -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true within the startManagedWeblogic.cmd file to start the managed server with the command prompt.

  • Sorting the Non qualifier values.. Is it Possible!!

    Hi Experts,
    I have a qualified table.
    week day -> Non qualifier
    Time In -> Qualifier
    Time out -> Qualifier
The Week day Field is fileed with all 7 days of the week.
    Monday, Tuesday,wednesday,Th..... sunday
    Wehave 2 issues here..
    1) In DM qualified lookup selection for a record, i can see it is autiomaticallyy sorted Based on Alphabetical order..
that is Friday, Monday, Saturday, Sunday, thursday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
we require this to be in Monday to Sunday order..
    2) Also i selected Monday first and gave timein time out values, and for the same record when i ALSO select Friday and provided Time in and Time out values and once i Hit save, then i can see that Friday is seen first and Monday is seen Next to it.
Which means it is also saving the Entries for Qualified table in a Non qualifier Alphabetical sorting order.
Can we get rid of this??
User should see the Qualifid Lookup selection box in Monday to sunday order
Once user selects the any of the values in non qualifiers they should be seen in Monday to Sunday order once they save.
Note: Sort Type option at Non qualifier Field level did not help.
    did anyone face similar issue??

    Hi,
I used a Integer field called Code.
    which has 1-7 numbers.
    Name                 :     Code
    Monday                     1
    Tuesday                   2
    Wednesday              3
    thursday                   4
    Friday                       5
    Saturday                   6
    Sunday                     7
These 2 fields are Non qualifiers, But in Portal we have hidden the Code field.
    This way the sorting worked.
    Closing thread.

  • How do I copy the value of a managed metadata field into a text column in the same list?

I have a SharePoint designer workflow that I am trying to use to copy the value of a managed metadata field, into a text field. So basically my workflow is this...
    Stage 1: Set [MyColumnValue] to [%Current Item:MyColumn_0%]
    Go to End of Workflow
This seems like a simple enough task, but each time an item is added or updated in my List, all I get for my new column [MyColumnValue] is just a link that says "Stage 1". Am I missing something here? Shouldn't this workflow be able to just copy
the value from the managed metadata column to the text column?

When you create a workflow on a list/library it automatically creates a new FIELD with the name of workflow and it's status. It sounds like you're viewing the Workflow status field, and not the field that the workflow is putting the values into. Make sense?
So edit the view and add the new field in.
