What is the standard or best method of returning the manager attribute value as a DN (directory string type) to a MV attribute?

We have an SQL table which supplies authoritative HR data to FIM including the employee's manager HR id. Using the FIM and reference attributes we can stuff the manager on AD correctly.
BUT, this table is used by other systems and one column (varchar 128) is named AdManager and is supposed to hold the DN of the Manager e.g. cn=A Manager,ou=User Accounts...
The only way I can think of to get around this is to push the DN of each connected AD account into a indexed string MV attribute called adDN  flowing ad attribute dn -> mv attribute adDN. This is pushed onto the Portal into attribute adDN so the
idea is that every Portal user (including managers of employees) that has an AD account has his dn stored in adDN as a STRING.
When I want the managers dn... will this work on the Outbound sync rule attribute flow definition????
source [//Target/Manager/AdDN]
target AdManager
It seems so artificial there just has to be a better way.

Hello Harold,
sounds good, thats "nearly" excatly the way I would do this.
But you can not do this directly in an OSR.
You have to do this with an workflow with the function evaluator and stor that Attribute on the user every time the Manager is changed.
After that you can have simple direct flows from MV to your HR Attribute.

  • What is the field and Table for "Batch Class" and "Class Type" in QM.

    Hi All,
    What is the field and Table for "Batch Class" and "Class Type" in QM.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
      For batch class the class type value is '023' . This you can find from KLAH table and the fileld for class type is KLART..
    And also all the data related to batch class are found in tables INOB, KLAH,KKSK and for the characeteristics of batch materials you can refer AUSP table.
    In INOB table, for batch class, you need to give 023 in KLART field and  value MCH1 in OBTAB filed.
    Please check this and let me know if this you need any more details?

  • What is the need of creating partner functions for sales document type.

    Hi SAP (SD-GURUS),
    Actually we create partner functions  before creating customer ex: sold to party, ship to party, bill to party, and payer.
    These partner functions are going to be copied into sales order while processing sales order.
    Again what is the need of creating partner functions for sales document type.
    Thanks&Regards
    sreenivas peruru

    There are some Partners you could enter at Sales ORder Level. E.g. Sales Person, Employee Responsible, Forwarding Agent, Broker, etc.
    Thus these partner Determination need to be carried out at Sales Order Level & not at Customer Master level.
    So we have to configure partner Determination for various levels e.g. Customer Master, Sales Order, Delivery level etc...
    Hope this helps...

  • What are the endpoints attributes collected by NAC Profiler through SNMP and DHCP?

    Hi Everyone,
    Please help on this.
    I want to know what are the endpoints attributes collected by NAC Profiler to discover and profile the endpoints.through SNMP protocol and DHCP protocol.
    Also if anybody can explain a simple used case on this.
    Please guide me on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,
    Abuzar.

    Hi,
    SNMP
    =====
    NetMap queries network devices via SNMP for:
    System information
    Interface information
    Bridge information
    802.1X information (PAE MIB)
    Routing/IP information
    CDP MIB Information
    This information is used to Build and maintain a model of the network topology and endpoint discovery.
    NetMap uses SNMP Get, GetNext and GetBulk (when available) requests to  query the SNMP agents running on the network infrastructure devices to  gather specific Management Information Base (MIB) objects about their  status based on device type (Layer 2 or Layer 3).
    In addition to polling each network device for all MIB data at a regular  interval, NetMap may also be commanded to poll port-specific  information when the NAC Profiler system is notified that an endpoint  has joined or left the network via SNMP traps sent by devices at the  network edge, switches typically.
    Upon receipt and verification of a link state (link up, link down) or  MAC notification trap, NetTrap will notify the NAC Profiler Server that a  change has occurred on the network edge (endpoint joined or left a  network port). If the trapping device is in the NAC Profiler  configuration, the NetMap component module assigned to poll the device  that sent the trap will be commanded by the Server module to initiate a  poll of the device's port information to determine the change to the  endpoint topology that resulted in the trap being sent by the network  device.
    The information gathered by NetMap is processed by the Server  accordingly to update the network topology, noting the endpoint joining  or leaving a port. Note that NetMap SNMP polling of network devices  resulting from a trap is localized to the port specified in the trap.  This is unlike the regular polling that occurs at the frequency  specified for each device type (L2 and L3) which gathers all SNMP  information from the device used by the NAC Profiler system.
    DHCP:
    =====
    The NetWatch module listens for traffic including DHCP traffic.
    The module will collect all the DHCP information on the traffic collected, like mac address, ip address,  DHCP Vendor Class Identifier in DHCP request, host name in DHCP request, requested specified options in DHCP request (option 55) and full list of DHCP options supported by the DHCP client as specified in the DHCP request.
    All the endpointe data can then be used to map endpoints with profiles.

  • What is the BOL Attribute struc for CN- CHANNELCONTEXT in MKTPRJ_COMMCHNL?

    Component Name: MKTPRJ_COMMCHNL
    View: MKTPRJ_COMMCHNL/OVEFChannels
    Context Node: CHANNELCONTEXT
    What is the BOL Attribute struc for CN- CHANNELCONTEXT in Component MKTPRJ_COMMCHNL?
    I want to enhance this structure to add a new checkbox attribute and bring that in UI using UI Config.
    Please help.

    This is a value node in my opinion. I checked the component CRMD_MKTPL( go to run time repository  editor and check the model) in the GENIL_MODEL_BROWSER as well but i could find any node by that name. ( Not needed though as the context node icon suggests what type of node it is).
    You can add your field directly by right clicking & then use it in your UI configuration.

  • What is the default timeout value for the SPQuery object?

    What is the default timeout value for the SharePoint SPQuery object? I've tried searching online but can't find anything with the actual timeout value.
    Someone suggested it might use the timeout property in the database? Anyone know if that's how it works?

    Hi,
    Do you want to avoid timeout when you query list items?
    If so, we can use the following C# code to set timeout.
    HttpContext.Current.Server.ScriptTimeout = 600; // 10 minutes
    More information is here:
    http://200oksolutions.blogspot.com/2013/03/sharepoint-2010-set-timeout-only-to.html
    The SPQuery object doesn’t provide any property to set timeout. We can also set timeout in web.config, or SQL Connections or IIS.

    Do you have some code that you could show us to illustrate what you are trying to achieve? Or are you just
    talking in vague general terms about how you might go about writing some kind of code
    And the more details the better responses you will get. Thanks.

  • Best way to return more than 1 value in a function?

    Hi all,
    What's the best way to return more than 1 value from a function? returning a cursor? varray? objects? etc? I thought of a cursor first, but i was hesitant since i am not sure if the cursor will be automatically closed when you return a cursor(open cursor no longer used is bad). Example:
    BEGIN
    OPEN c_temp_cursor;
    RETURN c_temp_cursor;
    END;
    With above example, c_temp_cursor is remained open. Or is it automatically closed once it exits from the function? Need some suggestions and expert advice.
    Thanks.
    Note: Function is to be used to return and not a procedure (This is a requirement. Can't explain the details on why).

    typo: "ir exists" to "it exits" (in bold)

    First create your pl/sql table type
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE pmc_tab AS TABLE OF NUMBER;
    Then a table:-
    CREATE TABLE v_stats_daily(start_date date, field1 number, field2 number, field3 number);
    Some insert into the table so we've got test data...
    insert into v_stats_daily values('08-OCT-2003',10,20,30);
    insert into v_stats_daily values('08-OCT-2003',40,50,60);
    insert into v_stats_daily values('08-OCT-2003',70,80,90);
    Then create your function:-
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION PMC_STATS
    (pStatDate Date) RETURN pmc_tab IS
    MyArray pmc_tab;
    vstat1 NUMBER;
    vstat2 NUMBER;
    vstat3 NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    MyArray := pmc_tab();
    select sum(Field1), sum(field2),sum(field3)
    into vstat1, vstat2,vstat3
    from v_stats_daily
    where Start_date = pStatDate;
    MyArray.extend;
    MyArray(1) := vstat1;
    MyArray.extend;
    MyArray(2) := vstat2;
    MyArray.extend;
    MyArray(3) := vstat3;
    RETURN MyArray;
    END;
    In SQL*Plus:-
    SQL>set serverout on
    Then a lump of PL/SQL to run your function:-
    DECLARE
    MyDate DATE;
    MyArray pmc_tab;
    i NUMBER;
    numOut NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    MyArray := pmc_stats('08-OCT-2003');
    dbms_output.put_line('Table count: '||to_char(MyArray.count));
    for i in 1..MyArray.last LOOP
    numOut := MyArray(i);
    --if numOut is null then
    dbms_output.put_line('Value: '||to_char(numOut));
    --end if;
    END LOOP;
    END;
    Your output will look like:-
    Table count: 3
    Value: 120
    Value: 150
    Value: 180
    Hope this helps,

  • XML in Oracle 9i (best method to return a xml file from a table query)

    Hello.
    What is the best method to query a table, or set of tables (that will return thousands of rows) using xml in oracle? (best performance)
    I'm currently using DBMS_XMLGen, is there a better method ?

    I think, if your talking about generating XML, that you should use XMLElement, XMLForest, etc. to create your XML.
    Lets assume that you base is relational data, then maybe the following great example will give you an idea how to do it : Re: Generate XML Schema from oracle tables
    As michaels pointed out (did you read the link/ URL given?), the general expectancy is that the packages will be less and less important. So also maintenance wise the XMLElement, etc way will be the best, also for the future, maintainable method.

  • What is the "Main Attribute" for in Session Monitoring?

    Anybody know what the "Main Attribute" column is for in session monitoring or how
    I can use it?
    Can't find it mentioned anywhere.

    Does this actually work in WLS 6.1 SP1 ? I have session
    monitoring enabled, have set the ConsoleMainAttribute to
    "username", and have actually set an attribute with that name
    to a string value in each session, but still get null returned
    from getMainAttribute() on ServletSessionRuntimeMBean. Any
    information, hints, advice, or vague prophecies on how to
    successfully use this API would be appreciated.

    <param-name>ConsoleMainAttribute</param-name>

    As per: http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs60/programming/weblogic_xml.html
    If you enable Session Monitoring in the WebLogic Server Administration

    this parameter to the name of the session parameter you will use to identify

    This parameter can only be a String in WLS 60. In 61, this parameter
    can be an Object
    and its toString method will be called to display its value.

  • What is the purpose of using  free-ofcharge subseq deliversales  doc type?

    what is the purpose of using  free-ofcharge subseq delivery  sales  doc type?

    Hi Reddy,
    Subsequent free of charge delivery (SDF): If customer requests for replacing any other product towards stock returned by him.
    <b>Subsequent Delivery Free of Charge:</b> (Order Type: SDF) (Item Category: KLN)
    Subsequent Delivery Free of Charge involves the delivery of goods free of charge in response to the complaints raised by the customers with respect to the quantity or quality differences.
    •A free of charge subsequent delivery document-SDF is used to send products later to the customer free of charge against any complaints made by the customer.
    •The standard delivery type – LF is configured for this transaction.
    •The transaction is not relevant for billing as the items are free.
    •The standard item category- KLN is used which is not relevant for billing and pricing.
    •A subsequent delivery of charge is usually created with reference to the previous order.
    To deliver Free of Charge Goods if Customer receives too few goods or if the goods have been damaged in the shipment. It must be based on existing Order. Has Delivery Block, and can be rejected. No Invoicing. PI can be used.
    To create a free of charge subsequent delivery, you have to refer to an existing sales doc, such as: sales orders, contracts, and contracts release orders.
    You do not have to use create with ref to free of charge subsequent deliveries, if you enter the order type & choose enter, a dialog box will appear where you can enter the no of the order to which you are referring. No invoice is created or necessary, as the items are free.
    Hope this would help you.

    okay, so I yes, it does indicate extended attributes. I executed ls -l@ *.aif and got this

  • What's the disadvantages of using webserver and appserver of different type?

    If I choose webserver:iPlanet6.0 and appserver:WebLogic6.1 on one server, What's the disadvantages?
    Mayby I will use the webserver and appserver of the same company.
    I wish someone give me some advice.

    As Barney-15E says, someone with physical control, can just remove the disk, and put it in an external enclosure, and mount the file system with their computer and access all the files.
    Only encrypted data would be protected. There are data encryption facilities available on the Mac, both included, as well as 3rd party, including 3rd party whole disk encryption.
    But having a password on an account, and engaging the password when the screen saver is active, can keep casual access from happening.
    Also if you allow network access (file sharing, remote login, screen sharing), the password will keep random net users from accessing your system, when for example, you are in a coffee shop, or if someone gets onto your WiFi network, or you give a visitor to your home access to your network, or you allow a guest to use the guest account.

  • What is the use of EPS\out in trans directory???

    What is the use of EPS\out directory?????

    Hi venkatesh,
    There was once a transaction called SPADE , which existed in SAP 4.6C, however it doesn't seem to exist right now and I am not sure if there is a new transaction available anymore.
    The SPADE transaction was built for creating CRT or Conflict Resolution Transports, check help.sap.com for more details.
    When you created a Conflict Resolution Transport its .PAT and .ATT files used to exist in EPS/out directory.
    SAP Partners could create their own Add-Ons (their own products that are built around the SAP Server) and provide CRTs to address any conflicts between support packages.
    Hope that helps.
