Cannot sync audiobooks any more

Hi there,
I have the following problem. Untill a couple of days everything was working fine. No problems at all. But since then I cannot sync my audiobooks with my iPod touch 64GB any more. It is simply ignoring all audiobooks. I do not even get an error message. I have quite a few audiobooks (from audible) and I tried a different list for each book to sync, I tried a combined list where all my audiobooks were in, I tried an intelligent list where only my audiobooks were in - nothing worked.
On the iPod tab, those lists are not even selectable - they are not there. So I cannot sync them with my iPod.
File type on most of my audio books is audible-AAC. Which worked great so far. Anyone with an idea what is going wrong or how I can put my audiobooks back on my iPod?

Audiobooks are not under the Music Fold, they are now under books!

Pages table cannot be edited any more

I have quite a large Pages document which is essentially a journal for each day of the week. Each day has 2 tables in it. One of them cannot be edited any longer going back to much earlier in the document. The other table is OK. Both tables are only 5 or 6 rows and never larger than 1 page. This has suddenly happened.
Just preceding this the Pages document could not be opened from either the current or backup file from a few minutes ago. The message just said 'unable to open pages document', not very useful really.
I retrieved a version from yesterday using time machine, but as I said above one of the series of tables cannot be edited any more.
I am Using Lion - recently upgraded I am sorry to say as this is one of many issues.
I am using Pages version 4.1 (923)
The pages document is 132 pages long.

Les, It is still there. Make sure that the playlist you plan to burn is open.

I tried to reinstall itunes but now whenever I try to open or gain access to my itunes library it will not allow me?
It gives me a screen where it asks if I want to "reinstall" or "repair" itunes, but whatever one of these options I choose I get an error message from the computer saying:
Error 1327 Invalid Drive H:/
And then I receive this message:
Error: -1603 Fatal error during installation
Can anyone help me because I cannot even install itunes from the start any more and I am missing my music alot!!!

I have a macbook pro, running mountain lion and iphone 4s, cannot sync audiobook

I cannot sync my audiobook from the laptop to the iphone. I have checked "Books" in Itunes, but the audiobook will not sync, and there is no place that I can find on the phone or computer where audiobooks can be selected. I have attempted to search for this, but none of the solutions worked. Has anyone solved this?

Cannot afford plan any more

I am now on Social Security and wish to get on a government phone plan. Does Verizon have such a plan? If not can I cancel my plan (nine months to go) without a fee as I am now poor? I do need a phone and can get a plan from the government for $5.00. I cannot afford my plan any more. HELP!

When you got your current phone, you signed a contract to keep that line in service for 24 months. Did you not know that your income would be reduced for the last 9 months of that term? There are ways to trim your plan and still keep the line in service. Use the minimum allowed minutes, cut out the texting and the data plan (put an old non-smartphone on the line to cut the data plan if necessary.) The least you will be able to pay is the $39.99 450 minute individual plan. Can you do that for the last 9 months?
THe other alternative is to cancel, but you will pay $175 less $5 for each cvompleted contract month, so if you have 9 months left, your ETF will be $120. If the phone you r purchased on contract is a smartphone, the fee is $350 less $10 for each completed month - or $240.
You may be better off minimizing your plan for the last 9 months. The $5 a month sounds very attractive, but you will have to fulfill your current contract to Verizon or pay the ETF.

Cannot sync audiobooks

My wife's iphone 3GS will not sync audiobooks. My iphone 3GS will. We are syncing to the same computer with the same itunes, files, etc. On her phone in the syncing window under the "music" tab there is no "audiobooks" box to check. If I check "entire music library" the audiobooks do not transfer. If I create an audiobooks playlist and put the audiobooks in the playlist, the playlist does not show up in the syncing window with the other playlists. If I do the same thing, but include a music file in the playlist, then the playlist shows up--but when I check it only the music file syncs.
Apparantly her phone just can't "see" the audiobooks. Anyone have an idea what is going on, or better yet how I can fix it?

Well, im having the same issue. I have 3 audio books and for some reason one of them that I just purchased using the app store on my 3gs is in my Audiobooks area of my playslists, but when I sync to my computer to try and get the other ones, they wont move over to my iPhone. And if I uncheck all 3 books and try to remove the one book that is on my phone, it wont remove either. Ive tried syncing All Audio Books, and tried syncing Only Selected audio books, neither of those options work. Any idea's? Im using an 32 gig iPhone 3gs with the 4.01 update and iTunes 9.2.

Cannot expand movieclip any more

I have a movie that I inherited that I think was made with
Flash 5. I am working on a movie clip in it that scrolls almost 40
thumbnail images (now) horizontally using < > buttons. That's
all good. I was adding thumbnails one by one and the movie clip
area would expand to include them each time, until now. I have
about 3 more to add and the movie clip won't expand any more. I can
expand how far the 'scroll' will go to well beyond where the
thumbnails end, but I can't physically add them any more. The
properties box for the movie clip won't allow me to make the width
larger either, but I think it would just stretch the symbol anyway,
distorting it.
I had posted this problem in an other area yesterday and
someone wanted to see the .fla file. I didn't know how to attach
that. All I see is the Attach Code button below and that doesn't
sound appropriate. So if someone wants to see it, please let me
know how to do that.

Yup, it's a scroller. I have messed with some of those
values. This is the code for the "scroll" instance of this scroll
movie clip:

I tried changing the 1420.4 value but it didn't seem to have
any effect. The other value was so small I didn't think it was the
right one. I have very limited understanding of Actionsript as I'm
sure is painfully obvious!
There are also "left scroll" and "right scroll" movie clips
that hold the code for how far the clip goes to each side. this is

I have changed the 2920 value. That will make the scroll go
past where the thumbnails end if I put in a larger number but the
movie clip itself will not expand to allow more thumbnails. The
1000 value, I believe, is the speed of the scroll, which is

IPod Touch 1st generation doesn't sync notes any more

I have a 1st gen iPod Touch and 2 iPhones (4 and 4S). I use the iPod mainly for the gym, so I write my routines on the notes app. Now that I have updated my Mac to Mountain Lion and notes are out of Mail app, they don't sync. Does anybody know if there is any way to fix it? As iOS 3 doesn't have iCloud it looks imposible because the option to sync it dissappeared from iTunes.

Cannot crop video any more

I have used iMovieHD for about 2 years, first 603 and now, for the past 12 months, 604. I import HDV 1920 x 1080i from a Canon HV20 E camera, and work in 1080i. iMovie 604 is a wonderfully useful application, but I encounter bugs from time to time that take days to sort out.
The latest bug is not being able to edit the video clips.
Lets say I have a clip of 4 mins and I want to get rid of the last minute.
First I try crop.
I drag the markers to select the first 3 minutes and click Crop.
Immediately the time indicator shows my clip is now 3 minutes. So far so good.
But when I play that clip, the last minute that I thought I had eliminated, it is still there.
Next I try Clear
I undo back to the original 4 minute clip, then select the last minute, and click Clear.
The result is as above
The time indicator immediately shows my clip has been reduced from 4 to 3 minutes.
But when I play that clip, the last minute that I thought I had eliminated, it is still there.
Next I try Split Video at playhead. The video splits into two clips, but the first part is still intact, and contains the unwanted minute that is now also in the second clip.
I have tried every cure I can think of
1 - I have gone to Users- Little House- Library- Preferences, and dumped com.apple.iMovie.plist
2 - Then I have dragged my iMovie 604 application to the trash and dumped it, and then reinstalled iMovie 604 from its .dmg file that I kept from the days when it was still possible to download it from Apple.
3 - I have examined my computer and the attached external firewire hard-drives to make sure I only have one copy of the film I am working with.
4 - I use external 1 Tb 7200 3.5" hard drives for my films and I have run repair on the one in current use - no problem. There is still 400 Gb of space left.
5 - My intel 24" iMac has a 320 Gb hard drive, and there is still 60 Gb of free space on that. I have run repair disk permissions on it. It does not help.
6 - I have made sure there is no copy of the film in iMovie events, nor in iMovie Projects.
I understand that iMovie 604 does not dump the video you clear, it just hides it.
But what seems to be happening with me now is that my iMovie is unable to hide the video I clear. The stuff I clear can still be seen in the clips, no matter whether they are in the clips pane, or whether they are in the time-line.
I have experimented with this for 3 days now and don't know what to try next, so if anybody can suggest a possible solution I would love to hear from you.
I have iMovie 08 installed as well, but don't want to use that.

I have now...
1 - put iMovie '08 in the trash,
2 - taken iMovie 604 out of its "older version" folder (or whatever it was called) and put that in the trash too.
3 - I also trashed the two preferences files.
Then I ran Repair Permissions.
Then I installed iMovie 600 from the iLife DVD, and added the updates 602 and 603.
Then I opened my latest movies in iMovie 603 and **!, I still get the same problems I had with iMovie 604.
i.e. When I split a clip (have tried it several ways) the clip divides, usually at the playhead, but sometimes a few seconds one side or the other.
Then when I select the second part of the divided clip, and get rid of that, the first part shows a shorter time OK but the video that I eliminated in the second part of the clip now suddenly reappears again in the first part.
When I repeat the process to try and get rid of the second part of the clip again, sometimes it still does not go, yet on other attempts it does go, but takes with it many seconds of good video that I wanted to keep.
A - The position of the play head seems to have very little control over what is cleared or cropped.
B - Much of the time I cannot clear anything. It just keeps reappearing.
This is happening with both 604 and 603 independently, (i.e. with only one on the computer at any one time, the other one being in the trash along with its preference file).
It is not a disk space problem. I have 80 Gb still free on the computer.
Should I turn off my internet connection? Is my computer being controlled from Mars, or what?
I refuse to use iMovie 08, I have never been able to get a decent HD (1920x1080) image with it.
I did use 603 and 604 happily for about 18 months, but for the last 4 months I have had nothing but trouble with them, and my (home) HD video productivity has dropped to almost zero.
I would buy Final Cut Express if I thought it would let me edit video reliably, but am now very hesitant about it because these experiences with Apple's video applications iMovie'08, 604 and 603 have shaken my confidence.

PowerBook cannot recognize projector any more

I'm working in a lab, where everyone is using PowerBooks. We show presentations every month, using an Infocus projector. My laptop (a year old) was working fine, connected, clicked on "detect displays" and was able to project the content of my screen. However, it was changed 2 months ago. Cannot mirror my screent content, because looks like the laptop and the projector cannot find each other. Some colleagues have the same problem, some not. Any idea?

Snow Leopard is where you should stay using FCE. 10.6.8 was the last supported OS.
Lion and Mountain Lion are not supprted.
Any new install of FCE defaults to DV NTSC.

Ok. So it happens in iTunes before an iPod even gets involved.
First, you should also post this in the iTunes forum. Next, you should de-authorize and re-authorize your iTunes on your computer and try again.
If that fails, and no other advice you get from the iTunes form works, try re-installing iTunes. Here is a link to help you work through that:

ITunes can't sync contacts any more when using OS Mavericks

Hi all,
I just thought I don't get it.
Now using Mavericks, I am no longer allowed/able to sync my contacts and even calendar via iTunes. I need to use iCloud.
What do you think of this? iCloud is quite nice for certain things like music or maybe Calendar, but to have my Contacts in iCloud I don't like.
At least I would like to have the choice how to sync (iCloud or iTunes like before). But only iCloud???
My concern is data security ... Maybe I should start again knowing all contact numbers by heart like I did many years ago when mobile phones
were not that common. That's brain training, too ;-)
