Cannot tab out of contact first name field in CSXSRISR

Hi,
For some specific customers, we have this strange issue. If a value from LOV is chosen for the contact first name, last name or email, user cannot get out of the field. There is no error message. Unless the contact field is cleared, the user cannot enter any more details or save the SR. Does anyone know why this would happen?
Appreciate your help.
Alka.

Hi Alka,
Dont you see any message at bottom left corner of Oracle Apps screen?
Looks like some validation is failing when exiting the field.
Also please check if there is any personalization/customization in the form.
Regards,
Mohammed

  • Contacts' first name field gets inserted in last name field when syncing

    I have a strange behavior when syncing between iOS and the Mac:
    A few contacts that I have only have a first name, let's say "Anna".
    Everything runs fine on iOS - I write that person a mail and everything's fine. But the moment I write Anna a mail on my Mac the last name field also gets the entry of the first name field, thus leading to the contact "Anna Anna".
    All I can do now is delete the last name field and everything's fine till I write a message on my Mac again.
    Note: this problem only occurs on my Mac, not on iOS.
    Second ote: the moment I'm sending the Mail on my Mac, iOS gets this error over sync.
    Third note: I recognized that Mail.app's autocomplete/history of contacts has somehow stored those accounts like "Anna Anna". Removing the Previous Recipients from the list hasn't solved the problem yet.
    This problem only covers 4 of my contacts, but being the most used ones this is driving me nuts.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Best regards,
    Tobi

    Yup have tried resetting the contacts setting to switch it the wrong way round, didn't solve the problem - then back to the correct way round, also didn't solve the problem.
    It's just the way that sometimes it shows firstname then lastname, and sometimes it shows lastname then firstname. Not one or the other but both ways round.
    I have txts in my inbox that are first name first, underneath txts that are lastname first.
    All very confusing I'm sure you can imagine!!

  • Tab out event for messageInput Text field

    Hi All,
    Can some of you please help me how to handle validation based on tab out.
    I have a field of messageInput text type in OAF standard page where user can enter a number in decimals like 11.19, 21.23 etcetera. I want to raise a message "Please enter an absolute value" the moment user enters a number with decimals and tab out. which means user will only be allowed to enter absolute values like 1,2,3,4,5..............
    Looking forward to receiving feedback.
    Thanks
    -Sunil

    Hi Sunil ,
    Since its a standard OAF page , you need to handle it through controller extension .
    Here are the steps :
    1 ) Attach PPR programtically ( In processRequest of your controller class )
    2 ) Catch the PPR Event (In processFormRequest of your controller class ) and get the value entered value
    3 ) Check if the value has any decimal point exist ( use String function in java ) and through exception accordingly .
    Code for handling fire action ( In written in your extended controller class )
    Import
    import oracle.apps.fnd.framework.webui.beans.message.OAMessageTextInputBean;
    In PR :
    OAMessageTextInputBean stb1=(OAMessageTextInputBean)oawebbean.findIndexedChildRecursive("BeanID"); // replace the exact bean id
    i if (stb1!= null)
    FireAction firePartialAction = new FirePartialAction("pprEvent");
    stb1.setAttributeValue(PRIMARY_CLIENT_ACTION_ATTR, firePartialAction);
    stb1.setFireActionForSubmit("pprEvent",null,null,true);
    In PFR :
    if ("pprEvent".equals(pageContext.getParameter(OAWebBeanConstants.EVENT_PARAM)))
    OAMessageTextInputBean stb1=(OAMessageTextInputBean)oawebbean.findIndexedChildRecursive("BeanID"); // repalce your exact bean id
    String MessageTextValue= stb1.getValue().toString();
    if(MessageTextValue != null)
    String.parseString(MessageTextValue ).contains("."); // Check if this returns true / false
    Throw message here accordingly .
    Let me know if its not clear

  • Duplicate last names when both names in first name field. Keeps repeating.

    When I send e-mails/ reply/ forward to people in my addressbook who have both names in the first name field, the name after the space repeats itself in the last name field. Example: John Doe becomes John Doe Doe after an e-mail.
    Mail is altering this. I've experimented enough to realise that it has nothing to do with syncs or any other program.
    I've seen people have solved this by corretly placing first name and last name in their correct fields. This is NOT an option for me due to the way my Treo works which does not give me the option to organize names by first name. This besides the fact that I have over 500 entries in this manner.
    Irrelevant of this detail, Mail should not be altering address book information this way. There are cases in my country where a person has two first names separated by a space, if I know them in an informal manner I have no interest in having their last name or having AB repeat their second first anme then making me search my treo by last name.
    I'm going to keep bumping this topic until I find some sort of solution or am given one.

    Just ended up taking the time to correct first and last names in their correct fields... screws the view up on my palm, but at least the problem is solved.

  • Moving information from last name field into blank first name field?

    Is there a script (or does anyone know how I can make a workflow in Automator) for moving information from the last name field in Addressbook to the first name field (which is currently blank)? I want to move information from the last name field to the first name field in over 500 addressbook entries, and it would take me all night to do it manually.

    Dear Michael,

  • How can I update the First Name field in Contacts?

    Hi people.
    We are personalizing the object Contacts, but we are with a problem when updating the properties of the field First Name.
    We are using the language PTG, and is this case two fields have the same name:
    - First Name => Nome
    - Full Name => Nome
    So, when we try to update anyone of then the following message appears:
    "Já existe um campo unknown com o nome NOME" [Already exists a unknown field with the name NOME]
    Please, help us!!!
    Thanks

    I would suggest raising a SR for this with Customer Support as it looks like issues around language translation

  • Changing Mail, contacts, calendars name field

    hello probable something simple but how do i permanently change the Name Field in the "Mail, contacts, calendars" setup.
    I press details to enter my own but each time i do the name field is over-written with a previous owner or user of the mac.
    Until this is complete i cannot sync contacts and calendars as i want to, using OS X Mountain LIon.

    Go to System Preferences > iCloud
    Sign out of the current Apple ID
    Sign in with your ID.
    System Preferences > Users & Groups
    Change name for current User.
    However, I HIGHLY suggest that you create a new User and move all your data to the new User or do an erase and install.
    1) Move to a new User. See directions here:
    Move your data to a new User or a new Mavericks partition**
    2) Backup your data to an external drive using clone software. While booted from the clone erase the internal drive and reinstall OS X.
    **(Fair disclosure: NeedHelp4Mac is my site. I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.)
    Both of these applications can be used to create a clone.
    SuperDuper! http://www.shirt-pocket.com/
    CCC http://www.bombich.com/download.html
    You will need an external drive to create the clone unless your internal drive is large enough to create a second partition large enough to hold all your data.

  • Change Mail COntacts First Name Last Name order

    When opening contacts from Mail the contact names are listed and sorted by First name. How do I change this to listing and sorting my last name first?

    I believe it honors the preferences in Address book. Try Opening Address book and going to Address Book > Preferences > General Tab > Select Name order and sort by.

  • Address book sync with google contacts - first names and last names flipped

    Hi,
    I am trying to sync my mac address book with my contacts in google/gmail and I have a strange issue.  All my contacts written in english alphabet is syncing correctly, but when I have names in Korean characters, the last name and first name gets flipped.  Without fail.  All other fields seem to synch correctly, but the first name is mapped to the last name field, and vice versa.  I have recently upgraded to OS X Lion on an iMac.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Jay

    can anyone answer this?
    at some point, I remember being able to do this. 10.5.x maybe? With 10.6 . . . .
    I do recall, however, that I stopped doing it because the sync went haywire. I did it the other way around: I have all my contacts in Address Book, so I exported them and uploaded the vCards to Gmail, after deleting all Gmail contacts. That's not such a great option. Surely this is well-automated by now?

  • Contacts - First name / Last name

    Hi all,
    I have a Nokia N95 8GB on Vodafone.
    My contacts are organised so they show First Name then Last Name in the address book.
    However in txt messages they only show this way round sometimes.
    E.g. sometimes they show First Name then Last Name, and other times they will show up Last Name then First Name.
    Very, very anoying when it's the wrong way round sometimes, and the right way round other times.
    I have the latest software for my device.
    Any ideas!?
    Thanks!

  • Imported contacts have last name/first name reversed

    When I had my old Samsung dumb phone, I listed all my contacts by last name.  (There was a single name field in the old phone, so I listed everybody as "Smith, Bob.")  But when I had my contacts list imported into my new iphone 5c, it read all the last names as first names and vice versa.  (It put "Smith," in the first name field and "Bob" in the last name field.)  I know I can choose to sort contacts by last name or first name.  But when I choose "Last, First" it lists all my contacts by first name.  So now when I enter a new contact directly into the iphone, it's backwards from everything else.
    What am I supposed to do here?  Am I just supposed to keep entering contacts backwards for as long as I have this phone?  Or is there some sort of app or setting to fix this?

  • Problem: software changes my Outlook contact info when synchronizing (cuts off part of first name)

    When I sync, the BB software cuts off part of the first name of my Outlook contacts.  The problem seems to happen when I have a space in the first name (eg: First Name - Bill & Jane).  I have several of my contacts listed that way so I can see spouses of contacts easily.  I have never had this problem before with my other MS Op phone.  Thanks for your help.
    Message Edited by friedchicken on 01-05-2009 01:23 AM

    I found out what happens.
    Wherever the First Name filed on the BB contains a Blank (or Space) character, when synchronizing to MS Outlook, the content of the field is divided in two parts: the first part, before the Blank, is transferred to the Outlook First Name field, the second part, after the Blank, is transferred to the Outlook Middle Name  field.
    This goes beyond the useser's intentions and is a nuisance, becuase you can of course turn around the problem after synchronization, by exporting the MS Outlook contacts to MS Access, or MS Excel, put the two fields together, and reimport them into MS Outlook. But you need to do that each time yoy synchronize.
    It would be nice if RIM could fix the issue.

  • Contacts' Last Names Duplicated on iPhone and iCloud

    I find that from time to time the last names of the contacts in my iPhone 4s either migrate to the first name field, or are duplicated in the last name field.  For example, "Jerry Rice" would be listed as "Jerry Rice, Rice." I have painstakingly corrected each contact but the issue is happening all over again.  Help please!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Check that you don't have more than one account in your contacts, such as 'iCloud' and 'On My Phone'.
