  • Error while uploading par file

    Hi,
            I am trying to  upload par file for the first time. When I try to deploy the par file, I am getting message saying, 'Operation failed: Please make surethe server 'Myportal' (host:port) is running or check the log( sap-plugin.log) for more details'/
    I have tried to open the portal  http://host:port/irj/portal. I am able to open the portal and can login successfully also. This means that the portal is running ( Am I right ?).
    I have tried to  upload the par file directly from the portal using
    system admin>support>portal runtime>Administration console--Archive uploader.
    I got the error messages as given below.
    INFO: Detected Portal Archive File: HelloProject.par
    INFO: Deployment failed - exception caught: Application upload failed: HelloProject.par - more detail at: E:\usr\sap\IN1\JC01\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd\HelloProject.par.log
    Please guide me about what could be the pbm and  how to solve this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Vishnu,
    Are you trying to upload a PAR file from the NWDS?
    if then you need to configure the J2EE engine correctly before doing so
    for that matter you need  the port number and also have that the SDM password for deployement
    Once these are ready ...go to the J2EE engine tab available on the bottom corner.And make sure the J2EE engine is working. or the server is up.Is this what you are looking for.....if yes.....just reply...I can continue with the deployment..
    Regards

  • Uploading a file to server using servlet (Without using Jakarta Commons)

    Hi,
    I was trying to upload a file to server using servlet, but i need to do that without the help of anyother API packages like Jakarta Commons Upload. If any class for retrieval is necessary, how can i write my own code to upload from client machine?.
    From
    Velu

    <p>Why put such a restriction on the solution? Whats wrong about using that library?
    The uploading bit is easy - you put a <input type="file"> component on the form, and set it to be method="post" and enctype="multipart/form-data"
    Reading the input stream at the other end - thats harder - which is why they wrote a library for it. </p>
    why i gave the restriction is that, i have a question that <code>'can't we implement the same upload'</code>
    I was with the view that the same can be implemented by our own code right?

  • How to upload a file into server using j2ee jsp and servlet with bean?

    How to upload a file into server using j2ee jsp and servlet with bean? Please give me the reference or url about how to do that. If related to struts is more suitable.
    Anyone help me please!

    u don't need j2ee and struts to do file uploading. An example is as such
    in JSP. u use the <input> file tag like
    <input type="file"....>You need a bean to capture the file contents like
    class FileUploadObj {
        private FormFile srcFile;
        private byte[] fileContent;
        // all the getter and setter methods
    }Then in the servlet, you process the file for uploading
        * The following loads the uploaded binary data into a byte Array.
        FileUploadObj form = new FileUploadObj();
        byte[] byteArr = null;
        if (form.signFile != null) {
            int filesize = form.srcFile.getFileSize();
            byteArr = new byte[filesize];
            ByteArrayInputStream bytein = new ByteArrayInputStream (form.srcFile.getFileData());
            bytein.read(byteArr);
            bytein.close();
            form.setFileContent(byteArr);
        // Write file content using Writer class into the destination file in the server.

    UploadedFile file = (UploadedFile) valueChangeEvent.getNewValue();

    Why my ggate showing unable to find the executable. I am able to see the executable server in the ggate home.In addition to Steve's reply, note that the broken installation may actually be on the target system, not the (local) source system. Unable to find "server" may mean that your source GG installation is unable to send remote trails to the target system, because "server" can't be found on the target. When checking the target gg installation, also be sure you've configured your source system to send to the correct mgr port & correct remote host. You might be sending data to an older (perhaps (partially) uninstalled) version of GG.

  • Error While uploading PAR File into NWDS

    Hi Experts,
    I have been to this location:
    Server(D)\usr\sap\P64(SID)\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd
    I have copied this file com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak and pasted on my desktop.
    Changed the name to com.mycompany.portal.runtime.logon.par
    I tried to upload the file to NWDS(File --> Import --> Par file) and I am getting the fallowing error.
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/853/error1un.png/
    and when i click OK on above Error
    i get this errors : http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/571/error2v.png/
    I am unable to upload the Par file did i miss something?
    Regards,
    Siva

    Dear Siva,
    that is indeed strange.
    Still don't know if this could be an issue with your NWDS or the PAR itself.
    So let's do 2 tests
    ===============================================
    TEST NR. 1
    Let's try and check the NWDS first by creating a custom PAR.
    Don't worry, it's easy.
    Just open your NWDS and go to the top menu
    File > New > Project
    Inside the popup window that will open please choose
    Portal Application (on the left) and Create a Portal Application Project (on the right)
    Then give any name you would like (no spaces or dots, etc...)
    You now have a Portal project created on NWDS ( you will see a folder on the left side with your project name)
    Click on that folder with your LEFT mouse button and choose EXPORT
    Choose PAR File
    Choose your Project
    Choose a path where you want your PAR file to be saved. (uncheck the deploy PAR file, but check the include the source code).
    And click Finish.
    Now delete the project you have created (by clicking on the folder with your LEFT mouse button again, but chose DELETE project)
    Now you're ready to re-import the PAR file.
    ===============================================
    TEST NR. 2
    Maybe your standard PAR file that you've downloaded doesn't have the source code included or is corrupted.
    Please try to open it with a ZIP program and check what type of structure/files you have there.
    Have you also checked your NWDS log ?
    You could also share here that log, so that I can better help you.
    Kindest Regards
    /Ricardo

    Hi Dion,
    i would think that SAP tries to stop uploads of par files which should be installed with them SDM or import of a whole package.
    Try the following :
    - rename the par file name from com.sap.... to something else...
    or :
    -  import the par into Developer Studio and change the project name
       change/delete the META-INF files
    Another question : why do you want to install only certain elements of the MSS package ?

    Developing for iphone can be amazingly complicated and frustrating.  (even before you start coding).  The process of having to create a Certificate, to approving the Certificate, to Assigning the deviceIDs to the certificate, to creating the AppIDs, to creating the provisioning profiles and then creating the .p12 file... is just too tedious.
    I solved the problem of the "Entitlements are not valid".   The AppID i had set in the iPhone Developer Portal did not match that of the AppID i had set in the Adobe Flash CS5 -> Publish Settings.  (ie. com.yourdomainname.yourappname).  After I re-entered my AppID and compile, i was able to sync the .ipa file into my ipad.
    I wish the error message had been a little more descriptive.  Could have saved me a whole day.
    I hope this helps others.  But my guess is, if you don't set the 40 character device ID correctly, or the email in the signingcertificate correctly, you'll get this same generic error message.
