Cannot view latest records in database

I have a database with 138 records. I can only view 134. When I call for New Record I cannot see the bottom of the list. Also, I entered 10 records which are not showing. I see one posting saying something about not entering new records in the list view? Is that not the way to do it?

There should be no need to create a new DB file.
AppleWorks creates a default "Standard" layout when you start a DB file, and names it Layout 1. Unless you've renamed it or removed it, that layout is still there, and will be found at the bottom of your Layout menu. If it's the only layout (ie. if you started the DB from scratch, and haven't defined any additional layouts) then chooseing Browse (shift-command-B, or Layout > Browse) should also take you to this layout.
New layouts can be added to the database at any time. A layout controls which fields you view, and where they are placed on the screen or on the page, but has no effect on what data is included in the database itself.
To get an idea of some of the layouts that are possible, take a look at the DBs created by the Address List Assistant (make both the Personal and Business lists), and the Templates for Event Planner and Wine Collection, all found in Starting Points. These will also give you some ideas about how to combine Finds, Sorts and Layouts into automated reports, using the buttons on the Tools palette.

I am using select statement on a database table. The table contains records, and each one has an effective date.

I want to select rates corresponding to R1 and R2. For R2, the rate is 40, but i need the rate 30 and not 40 for R1, because rate 30 has the most recent effective date. Please tell me if i can do this in the select query itself...

I cannot view a recorded disk on my imac

I created a disk - DVD+R - from a VHS. I was able to copy the movie from the VHS tape to the DVD disk, however I could not view it on my imac. Do I have to format the disk first, or is it something I can open on my imac? Thanks

Another help source (if you haven't already done so).
Go to your OS Help Menu. In the search field type dvd
Click on all the troubleshooting topics & Support Articles that pertain to your issue.
You can also do the same in Disk Utility. Open same up.
At the bottom left of the window, click on the purple button w/the "?" in the middle.
This will bring up the Help Menu.

Go Admin > Collection Settings > Config > Config Archive Settings
Make sure enable shadow directory is Checked
Also check you have folders like shadow , devfiles ..etc under NMSROOT/CSCOpx/files/rme/dcma
If these folders are missing ... then it is a database issue..
if files and folders are fine then check if it happening for any particulr device or set of devices or all the devices ?

Downloaded, unzipped, installed latest Camera Raw, but still cannot view D300 NEF files

Hello,
I have CS3 running on a 32-bit Windows Vista computer. I downloaded the latest Camera Raw plug-in, unzipped it, and installed it, but I still cannot view my Nikon D300 NEF files. I have made sure that I only have the one plug-in mentioned. I went to CS3 Bridge and made sure that Raw is enabled in Preferences. Anyone got any ideas?
BTW, don't know if it matters, but I use Irfanview as my regular picture viewer.

Please excuse my inexperience, but I, too, am having a difficult time with this issue. I am trying to view RAW images on CS3 from a D300 Nikon camera. My D70 images are fine in CS3, but not the D300 images. I have downloaded and downloaded ACR 4.6 and made sure it is in the path you suggested, but I am getting the same message, "file is not the correct type." I have Windows 7 on a HP desktop computer. I am also receiving an error message when I open Bridge, which tells me, more or less, that Bridge is not compatible with the OS on the HP. Don't know what else to do...

Cannot view ipod songs in latest version of Itunes

I have a 1st gen nano and I see my ipod in the latest itunes software but cannot view the music on the ipod. On another computer with older itunes software (6.0.4) I have no problems. Have updated ipod software but I don't think that is working.

You do this a little bit differently in iTunes 7. Click the triangle next to the iPod under Devices in the list on the left, then click Music below.

I have latest Adobe reader and still cannot view pdfs

Cannot view pictures in iPhoto

I have iPhoto 7.1.3 and OS 10.4.11
I have read all the posts regarding the changes with iPhoto and the inability to view the individual files in the latest version.
However, in iPhoto when I try to view a photo, I get the ! icon. As a result, I cannot view the picture, drag it to the desktop or edit it. I am able to view the details of the picture, including file name and size. So I believe the picture exists, but I don't know why I cannot see it.
I tried rebuilding iPhoto during application launch by holding the control-option keys. Nothing has changed.
Someone please help as I need to access my pictures for project.

As you've tried rebuilding the library then I would move on to recovery mode. Your db has been corrupted:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums back.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

How to get only the latest record in a folder

Hi all,
We have an OA SIT that is not a "standard" SIT in that it does not have the traditional Begin and End date. It only has an Effective date. Is there some way I can filter this table to only give me the latest record in the series? I know how to do this in SQL, but don't see how it would be possible in the EUL.
We're trying to avoid creating database views, but at this point, I'm thinking it may be the easiest way to address this. Any other suggestions?

Of course I'm not going to mention that I have no idea what a 'standard' SIT is compared to your basic 'non-standard' SIT ... and I have to watch my spelling of such ... but however ...
As you're most likely aware, in SQL you would get all the 'standard' SIT records first by going through the table. Then you'd go back through them all and find the most recent one.
Because of this 2 table pass, I agree that just putting the SQL code in a custom folder (as you're not using views) would make the most sense.

I cannot view my videos after upgrading to OSX. Each video I try to open the message on the black background is Blocked Plug-In. In system preferences I have the latest Java but Flash Player does not upgrade to Flash 12 after numerous attempts.
