Print data without creating a report

Hello,
I am using Oracle and Forms 10g. I have a table in tabular view with 10 records. I want to print those 10 records without creating a report. I have used the print button on the smartbar but it prints the entire form.
Is there a way I can print only the data in the datablock without creating a report?

Thank you very. A report is the solution to my problem. I was looking for something easier to implement but I see that there is not such a solution. I was hopping for example that you can press the print button, and get the data that are displayed in the data block. Your solutions work fine but are not easier to implement compared to the report solution.

    I am running an executable from the "system exec.vi" created with Labview 6.1. I am using the Report Generation toolkit vi's to create a report in Word that prints simple Title with test header and then appends a Table with measurement data. The problem is the measurement data in the table is from a previously printed report. This problem only exists when I Run the Report.exe from the "System Exec.vi". If I manually start the Report.exe in Windows or open in the Windows Commandline the correct data measurement data is printed in the report table. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank You

  • Printing Data File name on report...

    I need the datafile names to print on a report - we give the user serval files to choose from on the report and it would be nice to have the one selected as a note on the report

    we use a formula that alowes the to select say a file named New or Current.  Both data files are layed out te same just different data.  We have a internal formula.
    Formula: tsAskFile
    Description Use the tsAskFile formula to limit the file types the operator can choose when
    the report runs. This formula applies to the main report. It also applies to all
    subreports unless you use the tsSubAskFile formula on the subreports. This
    formula does not have file merging capabilities. If you use the following formula
    example on a report design, the report will prompt the operator to choose
    between the New.glt file and the Current.glt file when the report runs. Without
    the formula on the report, the operator could choose whatever file codes are
    available.
    Syntax u201C[<file type>(<file code name>[,<file code name>]*)]u201D
    <file type> = the abbreviation of the data file type; for example: BLI, GLT, APT,
    etc.
    <file code name> = the file code name of the data file; for example: new, current,
    history, active, standard, etc.

    You can do save the views in the Bex Analyzer. Like hwne you execute a query, then lets say you filter and add a drilldown, you can save this as a View from the Save button (View Global). Later views can be opened up in the Open button a sOpen > Saved Views. These views can be used as data providers in a web template.
    Another idea...I am not sure if this works, but when you publish to the web you get a URL that has the "Query=..." at the end. You can try putting in your view technical name here and see if it works.

  • Check InDesign data merge template for errors without creating document?

    I've got a big InDesign template with hundreds of rows. Producing a full batch takes over an hour, and sometimes crashes. The deadline is fast approaching, and I'm waiting for the final minor amendments to the content spreadsheet, which could virtually land any minute.
    I want to check for overset text errors on the current sheet without creating a merged document or PDF, so I can get on with fixing any likely major problems before the final sheet arrives - but I don't want to create a full merged doc, because that will take a very long time and will that doc's content will be obsolete, whereas the overall length of the text will change very little.
    When you create a merged document, you have the option to turn "Generate overset text report" off. What I want to do, is ONLY generate the overset text report, without actually storing the merged document in memory.
    Is this possible?
    The closest I can see is click through the "Next" button in the Data Merge palette with Preview turned on, while watching the "No errors" preflight panel notification at the bottom of the screen. This is probably faster than creating a full merge, but still very slow.

    That is what Indesign does when it does a data merge, it creates copies of the document and there's no way to change this.  Have you tried exporting to PDF (In CS4 you can do this in one step from the original) and printing?  I've never had anyone confirm it definitively but I'm pretty sure that the PDF created will be an 'optimized' one, meaning that when it sends it off to a compatible printer the images will be sent once and cached, with only the text that changes being sent separately.
    Definitely worth comparing it to Publisher for speed anyway, Office programs can merge straight to the printer, but in effect they're doing the same thing.  There are programs out there for doing far fancier stuff than data merge, probably the best is XM Pie, but unless you've got a printer that recognises their language they're a waste of time in this circumstance anyway.

    How do I create a report with data that can be displayed via the Crystal Report for Java SDK and the Viewers API?
    I am writing my own report designer, and would like to use the Crystal Runtime Engine to display my report in DHTML, PDF, and Excel formats.  I can create my own report through the following code snippet:
    ReportClientDocument boReportClientDocument = new ReportClientDocument();
    boReportClientDocument.newDocument();
    However, I cannot find a way to add data elements to the report without specifying an RPT file.  Is this possible?  I seems like it is since the Eclipse Plug In allows you to specify your database parameters when creating an RPT file.
    is there a way to do this through these packages?

    Am I forced to create a RPT file for the different table and column structures I have?

  • How to create a report using XML data source from Crystal Report Designer

    Hi,
    Iu2019m having Crystal Report Designer XI R2 SP4. Iu2019m trying to create a report using XML data source stored on disk. This is a customer order report and the xml is structured in such a way that it has an order details header part (master) and then it has several order lines (detail). One order line can have several order line characteristics (detail-detail). So what I need to know is now I can design this layout from the designer. If this was done using views I can do it with sub-reports but using xml data this seems to be different. Can you help me to design this layout? I have included the xml and xsd as well.

    Thank you for the response and ideas you have given me so far. I can get the fetch the data from the data source without any problem. That is I do the following,
    1.     New Report
    2.     From Create New Connection-> XML
    3.     Provide the u201CLocal XML Fileu201D and have u201CSpecify Schema Fileu201D checked -> Next
    4.     Provide the u201CLocal Schema Fileu201D  -> Finish
    Then I can see the following under XML

    For this point onwards only I need help. How do I group, add fields and design the layout so I can get an report output as follows.

  • Is it possible to use an XML Data Template to create a report in APEX?

    Hi,
    I have created an XML Data Template in BI Publisher passing one parameter and running two queries, then created an RTF Document Template to present the data.
    I can create a nice report in BI Publisher using the two elements. I have used RTF Document Templates to publish reports in APEX but the data comes from a Report region running a single query.
    I would like to run a report based in this kind of XML Data Template, in order to use several children queries related to a parent query. Is it possible to do it in APEX, or you have to use BI Publisher?

    Hi,
    I have the similar question. I used data templates in BI Publisher but now I want to use the same data template in Apex to print some reports.
    I tried to some examples but these were only using report queries. I also tried with the Web Service but this didn't work for me either maybe because I didn't
    used it in the right way. When I used the WS I received the binary of the report so the WS worked it was just the how and where to use it that didn't work for me.
    Now this older entry is BUMPED maybe we find a solution for our problem this way.

    However, I like to display current date/time in report footer.
    I can see the Page Footer in section but can't figure out how to print date/time there.

    Refresh your page.

  • Check Printing without creating Vendor

    We print check by creating vendor (which is a standard practice). Could you pl sugest me the wayout where I can directly Debit Expenses account and issue check in the name of Vendor.

    After inputting the Parameters in T/Code - F111 - for clearance of Payment Request ( for Vendor) we cannot edit the Proposal. We get a message as "Company Code ABC / ABC do not appear in Proposal 17.01.2008 1 R; correct".
    Hence we went to view the Proposal list (Path - T/code F111 - Edit ->Proposal ->Proposal List), where the system has shown the above message.
    If we execute T/code F110, it is also showing a window with the Program "RFZALI20", but after pressing enter, to go ahead it displays the "Open items", which could had been there in Vendor Line Items Display.
    Is it a thing that Program "RFZALI20" is not picking the data in T/code - F111 ? or anything else we need to customise ?

  • How to create a report to bring all data from two different Info providers

    Hi All,
    I have a peculier problem while creating a report. I have two custom info providers one DSO and another Cube. There are only two common fields between these two Info providers . I need to create a report such that the report displays all the values from DSO but user can have the selection option on one of the fields in the Cube.
    Here is an example
    DSO Contents:
    DocNum-     DocItem-     DocText-     Amount-      Quantity

    I hope this was clear for you to understand. I would really appricate if any one can answers about how to resolve this problem. I cannot add the date filed to DSO and I also have Doc Num and Item as the user selection fields in the report.

    Hi chinna,
    Two possible options, I can think of now, but both of them may be a compromise with performance.
    1. create an infoset and then a query on top of it, provided we have a one to one relation in both the targets. That is, the combination of doc and item number is not duplicate in either cube or ODS.
    2. Create a master data object of doc and item number and have date as an attribute. Load that from cube data and make date as navigational attr.
    Use this navgntal attr for selection in your report.

  • Getting 401 error while creating a Report Data Source with MOSS 2010 Foundation

    I have setup SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services with SharePoint 2010 Foundation in SharePoint integrated mode. SharePoint Foundation is in machine 1 whereas SQL Server 2008 R2 and SSRS Report Server are in machine 2. While configuring Reporting
    Services - Sharepoint integration, I have used Authentication Mode as "Windows Authentication" (I need to use Kerberos).
    My objective is to setup a Data Connection Library, a Report Model Library, and a Reports Library so that I can upload a Report Data Source, some SMDLs, and a few Reports onto their respective libraries.
    While creating the top level site, "Business Intelligence Center" was not available for template selection since SharePoint Foundation is being used. I therefore selected "Blank Site" as the template.
    While creating a SharePoint Site under the top level site, for template selection I again had to select "Blank Site".
    I then proceeded to create a library for the data connection. Towards this, I created a new document library and selected "Basic page" as the document template. I then went to Library Settings for this newly created library and clicked on
    Advanced Settings. In the Advanced Settings page, for "Allow management of content types?" I selected "Yes". Then I clicked on "Add from existing content types" and selected "Report Data Source". I deleted the existing
    "Document" content type for this library.
    Now I wanted to created a Data Connection in the above Data Connection library. For this when I clicked on "New Document" under "Documents" of "Library Tools" and selected "Report Data Source", I got the error "The
    request failed with HTTP status
    401: Unauthorized.".
    Can anybody tell me why I am getting this error?
    Note: I have created the site and the library using SharePoint Admin account.
