Cant download boot camp drivers in Mountain Lion

When I'm running the Boot Camp Assistant and i try to download the windows compatibility software it says downloading but nothing happens, I have waited for a long time so i think there's an issue with de Apple server.
Please fix that as soon as possible.
Thanks

  • HT4818 after installing boot camp 4 on mountain lion " Missing operating system"

    Hello
I hade a small Windows 7 partition , so after updating to mountain lion , I wanted resize win partition .
I made an image of it , then deleted win partition from utility disk , ( wrong idea )
I didn’t notice that boot camp  could erase win partition , anyway I have tried several times , and always after reboot boot camp
    I get the same
    Missing operating system .
If I boot from dvd install win or if i boot from the boot win partition.
hd and partitions looks OK to utility disk
Any idea to fix the problem ?

I presume that you've followed the instructions for sideloading the iMac Windows drivers into your install via USB stick? (wasn't aware the EFI recognized the SD slot as storage on boot. Now i know)
I always found more success in just slipstreaming the drivers and install.xml file onto a custom Win7 DVD rather than the USB approach when trying with my Late 2009 27" iMac. The Win7 installer needs that enclosed .xml file in the driver package to tell it where to find the drivers so that they be loaded when the Win7 image extracts itself.
If you're using mountain lion, then you should be receiving the proper Win7 driver set. If you wanted to create a custom image, then you can use an ISO file, the driver package and disk utility to make something you can use. Either that or you learn what edits your install.xml file needs to point the installer properly and check it manually.
I don't know what links you have so i'll just include everything:
Installing boot camp on a Late 2009 iMac:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3173
Direct link to Late 2009 iMac-specific Windows drivers.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL995
I'd try a USB stick and the iMac-specific driver set. It should steer your insolent windows installer correctly.
    Hope this helps.

  • Tap to click Windows 8 Boot Camp MacBook Pro Mountain Lion?

I am running Windows 8 through Boot Camp on a 2012 MacBook Pro, and I can't figure out how to enable the tap-to-click feature that I use on the OSX partition of my hard drive. Can anyone help?

Change “Tap to Click” (and other preferences) using Apple’s Boot Camp Control Panel:
Hit Windows + W (er, Command + W) to search in settings, type “Boot Camp” and hit Enter/Return.
Answer “Yes” to the question about whether you want to let this app have its way with your computer.
In the resulting “Boot Camp Control Panel” switch to the “Trackpad” tab.

  • Can't download windows 8 drivers for mountain lion.

It gives me an error, "Can't download windows support software because of a network problem."

It says Windows 7 and Windows 8, read it again.

I have an older Mac Pro (2006). I want to install Boot Camp and Windows. I have installed a boxed Snow Leapord on the machine. And it says the download of the Boot camp drivers cannot continue because they are not available. But at that point I have not inserted a windows disk, so how does it know i have XP?
So it appears I am limited to Windows 7? And where are the Windows 7/Boot Camp Drivers? On the OS disk?
Finally, since I have necer considered Windows 7 before, I assume there are no compatability issues with mainstream applications that were running in XP?
    Thank you.

    You're welcome
Just remember to reformat the partition (bootcamp partition) to NTFS with the windows installer, ensure to pick the correct partition.

  • Can I dual boot snow leopard and mountain lion if I've installed boot camp on my drive

Can I dual boot snow leopard and mountain lion if I've installed boot camp on my drive

Yes as I said before. If your model Mac came with Snow Leopard and you are now running Mt Lion and have Windows installed in a Boot Camp Partition all you have to do is make the Mt Lion partition smaller, take the free space and make it another Mac partition and you should be able to install Snow Leopard into that partition.
I have Snow Leopard, Lion and Mt Lion installed on my MBP. No Windows in a Boot Camp partition because I run Windows XP in a Virtual Machine on both Lion and Mt Lion.

Are they essential or can I run windows 7 on my Macbook Pro without the bootcamp drives
Only if you don't mind a Windows system lacking most features and thus beaing nearly unuseable.
Applying the appropriate drivers for hardware support is a must for all operating systems.

Please don't double post. Look at your other thread.
If you want to get rid of Windows and the BC partition use the Boot Camp assistant program to remove the Win/BC partition. Don't do it manually with Disk Utility Use the BC A program.

You can get those drivers from here, but they may refuse to install if you haven't installed the Boot Camp 2.0 drivers from the Mac OS X 10.5 DVD.

  • Can't install Boot Camp Drivers on Win 7 (Fusion)

I'm really sorry - I know this has been asked a thousand times before, but every response I've found so far either didn't work for me or it was too technical for my limited knowledge. I'm on the verge of tears after having tried to solve the problem for over 5 hours. It's past 2am here in Australia and I really should go to sleep but this is driving me insane!
Yesterday I installed Windows 7 on my Macbook Air (13" 2011 model, running Mountain Lion) using Fusion 5. I need to run Windows-only applications for work, which also requires accents (I am a translator).
As I didn't go about it using Boot Camp, I tried following this step-by-step to get my keyboard working properly: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&d ocTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&externalId=1005578
    No luck.
I downloaded the drivers using Boot Camp onto a USB stick formated as MS-DOS (FAT). I tried running setup.exe but keep getting the horrible "This version of Boot Camp is not intended for this computer model" no matter what (tried the "Troubleshoot compatibility" trick, tried re-formatting my stick and downloading the drivers again... nothing worked).
I then tried to run AppleKeyboardInstaller64.exe only and got an installation wizard. Windows says installation is complete, although I can't see this driver on the program list (should I?) - I can only it see it when I go to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features (from there I get the option to uninstall it but not to open it). HOWEVER, when I attempt to add an Apple keyboard, I can't see any, under any language.
I have tried alternative solutions like building my own keyboard layout but that didn't work either because I can't make the accent functions work in order to set up the layout!
Adding a foreign keyboard layout to Windows just gave me a very random set of strokes that will drive me insane if I have to type them regularly.
I just want to be able to use the standard strokes for accents on both OS:
    Alt+e for á
    Alt+i for ^
    Alt+c for ç
    Alt+` for à
    Alt+n for ~
Can any good soul help me? I'm not an IT person, just someone who used to be married to her Mac (a very happy marriage) and who is now about to throw the laptop out of a window. Please HELP!!!

That article was also my starting point and I have followed those steps again and again and again. I haven't slept, I haven't done anything other then try to make it work for more hours than I can count. I came here for help because that solution is not working for me.
The region and keyboard type settings simply don't have the Apple keyboard layout listed. As I said, someone on the Fusion forum tried to follow the article's instructions too and he managed to get it working because he COULD run setup.exe (Boot Camp Drivers) on his machine, and I CAN'T. Yes, it is all explained in that article... but the drivers WON'T INSTALL, I get an error message saying "This version of Boot Camp is not intended for this computer model".
First you said it wasn't physically possible for me to install the drivers, then you said I should just follow the article. Well, the article clearly says "Install the Boot Camp Windows device drivers in the virtual machine" which you just said couldn't be done! I want to cry. I should have just bought a second laptop, this is too painful.
