it says it makes reference to the camera

In iMovie 09 (also known as version 8.0.6) there is a bug which causes unpredictable audio artifacts when you use custom speed changes. By this I mean speed changes of 23%, 139%, 78%, etc.
The solution is to choose speeds that are by the tic marks in the Inspector. If you stick with these speeds, the sound should work as expected. (From memory, 12.5%, 25%, 50%, 100%, 150%, 200%, 400%, 800%. - There may be others)
When you change your speeds to one of these numbers, and then Share your project, it should work for you. Good luck.

iDVD is not avail via the MAS.
only in the boxed version of iLIfe (any version).
consider other tools, as Roxios Toast or the free Burn .
those are less integrated into iLife, less easy modifyable and for sure not as 'good looking' as iDVD.
in case you still own old installer-disks of any old Mac, consider a 'custom install' of iDVD/iLife from those (mostly on Disk #2).

After i export my project from iMovie, where does it go?

What are you clicking on your desktop if it is not your project, the one you cannot find?
You will be better off posting in the iMovie and/or iDVD forums where the experts hang out. This forum area is for MBP problems which you are not having. Your problem is software related.
Also, it would be helpful to the folks helping you if you would advise which OS system is currently installed.

I get this warning when trying to export a project from iMovie.

• streamingDV, AIC etc. (not .avi, .mp4, .m4v, .wmv etc as they are containers not codecs)

• Library - in user/account folder - THIS IS THE ONE to look into

I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
I don't know why that could cause that big of a problem, but it did..

After phone support from apple I ended up creating a new project and adding all 117 clips back in individually till I found out what clips flagged and would not allow me to export. I had 3 I deleted and replaced and everything works now 1hr after tedious work....
Where do Your material come from
• Camera
• External hard disk
• USB-memory
And all are connected so that iMovie can find it ?

Cant export to tape from imovie anymore!

i used to be able to export me edited footage back on to mini dv,
but now every time i try, it just crashes.
i dont know what to do

can you import from camera into iMovie?
here are some possible solutions
1. delete preferences (com.apple.iMovie.plist) and empty the trash
2. repair disc permissions with Disc Utility
3. use Diskwarrior or MacJanitor for disc clean-up
4. empty cache (CacheoutX)
5. disconnect any other firewire devices

• iMovie version - more than iM'11 v. 9.0.4
Action taken
• Finalizing project - I never do as I never understood the gain to do so
• Share as HD to iDVD - never give any gain but if it works the resulting DVD is less quality than if SD-quality was shared

I am trying out Final Cut Pro X and trying desperately to import a project from iMovie 11 (version 9.0.9). There is no export to FCPX in iMovie 11 nor is there import from iMovie in FCPX.

Can someone please help me?

I am now trying desperately to import a project from iMovie 11 (version 9.0.9) into FCPX.
I have read multiple posts on this subject and they all recommend File/import/ from iMovie project in FCPX
However there is NO such option under File/import in FCPX - nor is there an option to export to FCPX in iMovie 11
Can anyone please enlighten me.

The current version of FCPX does not work with that version of iMovie. You need version 10.0.3, which allows you to send a project to FCP.

Is is possible to take a finished project from iMovie 10, and move it to iMovie 9?

Here's the deal. I've got a finished iMovie 10 project. I want to move it to iMovie 9. Here's why. In iMovie 10, when I shared it to Media, I didn't see any drop down to select the quality. i.e....like in iMovie 9....1080p or 720p or Large or Medium. It just did it on its own. I'd like to take this iMovie 10 project and move it to iMovie 9, and share it to Media Browser again, so I can choose a smaller size, so it will fit where I want to put it.
Of course all this is moot, if someone can tell me how to share to Media Browser in iMovie 10, at a smaller level than 1080p or 720p. I'm at a complete loss here. Your help would be GREATLY appreciated.

If you would like to export a lower resolution version of your project from iMovie 10 (2013), you may want to try exporting it as a QuickTime file. You may find the following article helpful:

In iMovie, use SHARE/EXPORT MOVIE in the size that you want, and then specify a name and location that you can find, such as on your desktop.

What are you using to burn the movie to DVD? If you are using Finder, it will not work on other DVD players (not sure about other computers). In order to work anywhere, you need a dedicated video burn/authoring application such as iDVD, Roxio Toast, Burn, or many others you find by googling.
Oops - I missed the fact that you said you installed iDVD? So did you use that or Finder?

Can anyone please help me.. when I click on my timeline in my project library and try to export movie nothing happens! and when I try to "share" to youtube I get an error message stating that it cannot be exported because it contains "no video"... The 4 minute music video that I've created with shots off my Canon T2i looks and plays great....If I uploaded the videos into Final Cut but did not save them on my desktop or anywhere else on the Mac would this be a reason to get this message? It's really annoying for Quicktime player to auto-lauch!

It may not be that simple David. They're using a "server" and some of the Apache software may want to launch QuickTime at boot.
This isn't really a QuickTime question. It's a sever question best answered in those Discussion pages.
