Cant install OS X 10.5.2 says it isn't compatable with my 2007 macbook pro any suggestions?

I have an early 2007 model macbook pro and was finally able to upgrade to leopard.  I cleaned out my hard drive so I had 15GB free space checked the processor and the memory and I have all of the requirements to install it.  It still says can not be installed on this machine.  I currently have OS X 10.4.11 installed.

That DVD originally shipped with a Mac and can't be used to install on another Mac model. If you don't have a retail Mac OS X 10.5 DVD lying around(these are all 10.5, 10.5.1, 10.5.4, or 10.5.6), buy Mac OS X 10.6 on DVD.

After installing a new hard drive in my 2011 macbook pro, I'm getting a apple.com/support -2003F error when trying to run the internet recovery.  Any suggestions?

Did you format the new HDD?  What is the status of the old HDD?
Do you have an early or late 2011 MBP?
    Ciao.

  • I am using a new imac with osx lion 10.7.5 and have bought a copy of Apple iLife 11 on dvd a so that I can install iWeb and idvd, when I click on install iLife I get a message saying "iLife.kpg was signed with an invalid certificate

I am using a new imac with osx lion 10.7.5 and have just bought Apple iLife 11 on dvd so that I can install iWeb and iDVD, as macs no longer ship with these apps. When I click on install iLife I get a message saying "iLife.kpg was signed with an invalid certificate.
Next problem is that when moving through the installer and get to custom install, as I only want to install iDVD and iWeb, I am presented with the option to install iDVD, Sounds & Jingles and iWeb, but not sure what is going on with the other 3 options iLife Support etc, they seem to be greyed out but still look like they may install over the top of the newer versions already on my imac. Is it ok for me to just go ahead and hit install? Or do I have a problem?

Yep, just install iDVD (plus sounds and jingles) and iWeb if you want it (but note that iWeb apparently won't work if you upgrade to Mountain Lion).
Then use Software Update to get any late iDVD updates.

I will check.  Can the security update be installed if you can no longer open the Mac App Store app?
I was listening to the MacCast podcast and the host had a similar issue and did something similar to the link below.  I am concerned that I may mess something up by doing this.

  • I have a 2007 Macbook Pro that is running 10.7.5 and I am trying to use a 10.6.3 DVD to install Snow Leopard to an external hard drive.

I have a 2007 Macbook Pro that is running 10.7.5 and I am trying to use a 10.6.3 DVD to install Snow Leopard to an external hard drive. I've followed every possible instruction on every which website. The problem is when I boot to Install disc, I am unable to choose which hard drive I'd like to install the OS on. It says that it is unable to Install and automatically takes me to Restore and suggests that I restore to Time Machine backups. Any and all help is appreciated.

    lovinlife5959,
have you tried booting from the grey Mac OS X Install DVD that originally came in the box with your MacBook Pro? See if you can install its version of Mac OS X (either 10.4.9, 10.4.10, or 10.5.0, depending upon when it shipped from the factory) onto your external hard drive. If that works, boot from your external hard drive, run Software Update on it, and then try updating your external drive to 10.6.3 via the white Snow Leopard DVD.

  • Performance unacceptable after installing lion on late 2007 MacBook Pro

I have a mid-2007 MacBook Pro with 2Gb of memory and a 2.4GHz Intel Core2Duo.  Since installing Lion, Safari is all but unusable, it takes forever to load, every page I try to load stops the entire computer with the spinning beach ball, I haven't even tried flash sites. iTunes hangs every time I download a podcast at the processing file stage.  I keep iTunes open to feed my AppleTV, but after a few hours of watching I have to restart iTunes because everything starts to hang.  To say nothing of what happens when iTunes starts automatically downloading podcasts.  Syncs with my iPad have been hit or miss.  The entire machine seems slow and sluggish.  I tried running one app at a time, and that helped some, but it didn't fix the problem.  I am assuming this is a RAM issue and have ordered more, but Apple said it would work with 2Gb of RAM.  I don't call this working.
So my question is does it save memory to run apps in full screen or should I keep them as just windows?  I have tried to kill all the extras, and I have been trying to just do one thing at a time, but I have honestly never had this kind of reaction to a new OS when the machine was in spec.  And I have been upgrading since system 7.  Is 4Gb going to be enough?  Is the processor just not fast enough to handle it?  Upgrading to a new machine is not an option at all, and I really like the working bits of Lion I have seen, but am I stuck?

I haven't done permissions yet, but I have rebooted several times. I had an issue with the superdrive not recognizing DVDs, so I zapped the PRAM and did the SMC thing.  Plus, I've tried rebooting just to see if that would help, but it has not.
I have been watching istat and there's some free memory but not a lot.  I was fine under snow leopard, I never had any troubles until I started running a lot of stuff at once.  I agree that this is almost certainly memory. It gets worse the more things I try to do at once.  Everything hangs whenever there's an operation to be done (syncing, downloading). It just feels like the machine is choking.
I saw an article earlier on one of the Mac RSSs that the writer was having problems with Safari consuming up to a gig of memory just sitting idle with a few tabs open.  I'm not going to bother with Safari until I put the memory in, Chrome runs pretty well, even if I can't really do the full-screen thing.  I guess at this point I'm just looking for help for what I can do to conserve memory until more arrives.  And I'm a little annoyed at Apple for saying Lion works with 2Gb of RAM when it really doesn't.  If you can't use the browser or the iTunes, how can you even hope to run Photoshop?  iMovie takes 5 minutes to load and when it does it's full of visual glitches.
I guess I'll try permissions and see if that helps. Thanks for your ideas though.

  • My iPhone is in recovery mode, But once it's done with the process a tab comes up saying there was something wrong restoring it (1015) error. Any suggestions of how I could fix this?

My iPhone is in recovery mode, But once it's done with the process a tab comes up saying there was something wrong restoring it (1015) error. Any suggestions of how I could fix this?

Error 1015: This error is typically caused by attempts to downgrade the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch's software. This can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. To resolve this issue, attempt to restore with the latest iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software available from Apple. This error can also occur when an unauthorized modification of the iOS has occurred and you are now trying to restore to an authorized, default state.
    In other words:
The backup to which you're trying to restore was created with a lower or previos version of iOS than the one installed on your iPhone during the recovery.  If this is the case then you'll be unable to restore your phone with that backup and you'll have to set your iPhone up as new.  Or,
Your iPhone was/is jailbroken.  If this is the case, there is nothing anyone here or at Apple can do for you.

If the system won't boot from the new drive the OP bought and install OS X on it it certainly won't boot from the original drives Recovery HD partition.
Sorry genius.....but if the Recovery disk shows up that means the disk cable isn't bad.  Could be he did have a screwed up HDD and when he put the NEW HDD in (after putting the OS on it via USB) the computer didn't reconize it and therefore didn't boot the OS.  Just maybe right genius?  Don't rush to criticize someone's recommendations until you realize other possibilities.  (I did say "if it does")
    Thank you

  • How can I sync my iPad 2 with my new MacBook Pro when it is already synced with my old MacBook? I am getting a message on the new MacBook Pro that says I am not allowed to sync the iPad 2 because it is synced to another iTunes library.

How can I sync my iPad 2 with my new MacBook Pro when it is already synced with my old MacBook? I am getting a message on the new MacBook Pro that says I am not allowed to sync the iPad 2 because it is synced to another iTunes library.

    1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPad but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPad with it.
above works for purchases from the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.
also, there are PhoneView and iRip.

    If MF4150 is correct...
    http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/home
    search MF4150
    click >Drivers & Software
Verify or choose Yosemite 10.10 - then click the [+]
Again verify Yosemite > click agree > click [DOWNLOAD]
    The rest should be self-explanatory

I had recently updated from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 and thus had to re download Adobe Digital Editions. I downloaded Version 4.0 but the problem seemed to be with the authorization between the e-reader and the computer. While in ADE click the help button and click erase authorization then re do your user id and password. It worked for me.

  • Is there a plug in to make my 2007 macbook pro able to install Mountain Lion

    Thanks

No. The architechture is too old. I think Lion will be as far as you can go, as a guess without knowing your specs. But if the machine cannot run Mountain Lion then there is no way of doing it (short of replacing the mechanics which would be more expensive than buying a more up to date Mac)

  • My lg tv says no signal when I connect to my macbook pro on the rgb/vga

my lg tv says no signal when I connect to my macbook pro on the rgb/vga port. I have tried my windows pc as well, different cables, changed screen resolution but no joy. Help please.

Possibly because you haven't told the TV which input port to find your MBP on?

  • Late 2007 MacBook Pro - Fresh install

I have a late 2007 MacBook Pro. I want to do a fresh install. Is it best to use the original discs, which would take me back to tiger, or can I just use a new retail copy of Snow Leopard?
Will that retail copy of Snow Leopard hold all the proper drivers for the late 2007 mbp?

I just did a fresh install of Snow Leopard on my late 2007 MPB (I bought it in Jan 08 and it shipped with Leopard). Worked out fine, only difference is the Retail Snow Leopard doesn't bundle the iLife applications like the originals did. Other than that it went very smoothly.
