Cant listen to certain music files on my samsung stellar

hello all i have a samsung stellar and have had it for a few weeks now and i really like it  but i have a question i recently tried to put music on to the phone and for the most part all the music i have put on has played,I tried to put a new cd that my son got for easter onto my phone and it wont play, can any one give me a idea what to do i get a error message telling me that the phone doesnt support this file or something to that nature.. any advice would be great.. happy easter to you all

Redwing, I love having music on my phone as well. It's so convenient! If a specific CD won't play, it sounds like there may be some time of restriction or copyright on the files. If you're using Windows Media Player, there are settings to turn off security on the CD. Since this is outside of VZW's scope, I don't have the instructions, but you may want to check with support for Windows or Windows Media Player, or whichever application you're using.
Hope that helps!

  • How to listen to amazon music file samples

Amazon uses listen files in their music library that have Windows Media Player and Real One Player as the options for listening to the music samples. What do I use on my Mac to play these sample listening files? Anything? Do I have to download Window's Media Player for Mac or Real One Player? Do they have versions for Macs? I really don't want to. I thought I could stay 100% iTunes. Surely Amazon didn't leave Mac users out?
    thanks,
    jpenn

I don't think you can even download WMP anymore. Microsoft recommends Flip4mac WMV. It plays Windows Media using QuickTime.

  • Cant listen to MIME type file..HELP

I am trying to listen to online radio streaming at website www.irirangi.net. I at first was received a promtp telling me the file used MIME format, and that i had to download Windows Media Player to open what I wanted to hear. I then went to the website and have downloaded "Flip4Mac".
Now when I go to the desired radio website nothing is happening and there is no prompt telling me i need to download anything. I click on listen and the station comes up with nothing. Why cant I open anything that uses Windows media.
Can some one please help me?

That site will likely only work in IE.

  • Can't see certain music files in the music library

I have recently imported some CD's and can see the files in the correct location in the C drive, however I cannot see them in the itunes music library. The file names are identical to others that I can see.

    gordonroof wrote:
they open in itunes and play. surely i don't have to treat every track this way.
No, that was just to confirm that they don't have an incompatibility, and they passed the test.

    is there a short cut?
If you know where they are, just drag the whole folder into the main iTunes window (or use File > Add Folder to Library) and they should all add.
To the original problem, were these tracks imported by iTunes from audio CD?

  • Quick question why cant i see mp3 music files just folders

i jad to reinstall my os x and cant seem to view play the mp3 files from earlier itunes and download folder... it states that they are still in my files so im assuming theyre still here why would i have traces of folders and still a good amount of gb audio right? any sugestions? ive tried viewing my files in smart folders to find them but just get folders that dont seem to lead anywhere just opens same folder.

you may need to log in to itunes store and redownload the songs in your purchased list. worst case scenario, itunes chat is typically very helpful. especially if there's an unseen error that they'll have access to. and just select support in itunes store by purchased.

  • After updating my ios4 to ios 6.1, it became very slow. Browsing my music takes forever. How do i fix it to make it fast again without losing my music files?

After updating my ipod touch 4th gen ios 4.1 to ios 6.1.6, browsing my music files became super slow..I lost all my music files and was even forced to download new ones..But im not happy with maneuvering my music files after the update as it takes really slow to move from one playlist to another..I wish I could downgrade it to my original ios 4 as it was much faster then in maneuvering music files. Or is there a way for me to make it faster???Im only using my ipod touch 4th gen for listening to my music files and nothing more. I also noticed that whenever I dock my ipod touch to my Bose sound Dock, the remote control only function on its volume controls but not the skip buttons. i sent my Bose dock to Bose service center and told me that my Bose dock system is working fine but not my Ipod touch 4th gen.. Pls help me...

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
Also, go to Bose's support site, they may have suggestions for that problem

  • Is there a way to view deleted music files my iPod once had before?

I thought that since I cant retrieve my 1120+ music files my iPod once had, maybe I can at least see all the music files that were once in it so I can make sure I get every song I had in it back in there. Is this possible? Thanks!

Theres no possible list or record or history of songs that were in my iPod that I can view. Is there a possibility that I can view the corrupted files in "other"?

  • How can I store my music files on an external hard drive and listen to them through iTunes that way?

How can I store my music files on an external hard drive and listen to them through iTunes that way? At the moment they're both on the external hard drive and also stored on the computer but I'm quickly running out of memory on my iBook G4 so I'd like to only keep them on the external hard drive and, if possible, delete them from my computer's hard drive. At the moment, when the hard drive isn't plugged in a lot of the files won't play and I get the exclamation mark next to the particular song in iTunes, but everything plays fine when the hard drive is plugged in.
    Thank you.

Sounds like your files are playing from the external drive already.  To check go to iTunes - Preferences - Advanced and check the Media Folder Location.  Change it to the external drive if you need to.

  • Itunes cant find music files

Seems to be some discussion on this problem where as itunes will not play the music on the computer and says it cant find the music files. I found that the block for using itunes as default audio player has to be checked. This is in preferences under the advanced tab. Seems to come unchecked at times and stops the player. Also my music location, also under advanced will go back to default at times. (My files are on an external hard drive) Hope this helps.

  • My music files cant be added to itunes library

my music files were originally from a cd. had transferred it to my computer and works fine with windows music player (windows 8.1). The files are just listed as track nos 1 to 11. However I cant seem to be able to add the file nor the folder to my iTunes library. tried the add file, tried drag and drop nothing seems to work.

Check the files haven't been added somewhere other than where you are looking for them. See Missing Artist or Album not with others by same artist. Untagged tracks normally show up under Unknown Artist, Unknown Album.
Or see Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.

  • I have allowed my iTunes Match subscription to expire, because of a limited data plan so can't listen to music outside my house. My music files were removed from my computer and are inaccessible without renewing the subscription. How do I get them back?

    Hi,
I presume you deleted the original files as match would not have done so. Do you have a back up. If so, restore your music from that. If not, your will have lost all your music as this needed to be on your hard drive when you unsubscribed.

  • Hi, All my music files have an exclamation mark on the left and when I tunes asks me to locate a window opens with I Tunes folders but I still cant see my music library . What can i do? Thanks

Hi, All my music files have an exclamation mark on the left and when I tunes asks me to locate a window opens with I Tunes folders but I still cant see my music library . What can i do? Thanks

The red exclamation mark indicates that itunes cannot find your files.
Are the music files still on your harddrive. Look n Finder
    Username/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media
If the files are there then keep the option key pressed and open iTunes. A dialog box will open asking you to choose your library. Select Choose and then navigate to the Music/iTunes Folder and click OK

  • Cant listen to audio files

For some reason whenever I try and listen to an audio file on the highly filtered network the file never seems to completely play. Perhaps this is a drawback to the high filters around here. The evangelical college that In attended really only filtered sex, ****, games, and other inapropiate websites. But at this school they filter that and much more. This includes Direct Connect access to CitiBank, TurboTax, Apple Software Update, FTP, Microsoft Technical Nessgroups, and even live audio streaming. Although the IT admins around here wont listen to anyone but their own voices, I realize that I cant convince them.
But anyways can any of you try and listen to these audio files and tell me if they play? I think there is a 1% chance the issue is with Yahoo, but its about 1%. Thanks..

Also can anyone tell me technically how they are able to filter audio files?
If they filter audio its strange why they do not also filter video.

You need to raise this issue with your school's tech support group. I tried playing the first mp3 link and although I didn't listen to the entire thing, I was able to fast forward to a few minutes prior to the end and it played fine via my cable modem. If your school's network administrators are placing a filter on your network port, only they would be able to assist you in opening it so you can listen to that content.
