Cant view java or applets
hi..im looking for help.....just recently....i can NOT view applets or java on my pc......i get a white box with a little symbol in the top corner.......whats happened? any ideas??? i make webpages..and have used anfy from time to time..with no problem.....now nothing shows on my pc...no matter which browser im using...

I am a student at the University of Portsmouth in the UK in my third and last year. I am doing my dissertation as a game using applets for a client at the university of which there consits four prototypes. One of the main specification points is that it should work on an apple mac, therefore I am using Swing applets. however with my first prototype it works fine on windows in windows Explorer, firefox and Netscape but i cant get it to work on Mac os 9 or X even with the latest version of java installed on the machine. Can anyone tell me why this is so, I would be very gratefull.
As I cant post the whole applet here as a file download I will just put some code snippets of the main program classes.

This link states Mac OS X 10.4 now supports Java 5.0. It does mention nothing about Mac OS 9 or previous version of OS X. The problem you may be facing is that your Mac is running only 1.4.2 or less. The class files compiled for Java 5.0 can't run in non 5.0 versions of the Java Virtual Machine. Java 5.0 was a major release for the Java language and thus the change in numbering (though it took a little bit for this to change).
Anyway you should confirm what version of Java you have installed on your Mac.
At a command prompt:
java -version
The above URL states that the previous 1.4.2 Java version is not uninstalled, and this could still be the preferred version to use for Java applications even after installing Java 5.0.
The URL above states there is a utility to set your apps to use Java 5.0 as the perferred Java version. Who knows maybe this is all you need to do. I hope this is the case, then it probably is an easy fix, otherwise you may need to rewrite your app in Java 1.4.2 to get it to run on your version of Mac. -
How use system.out.println with a Java Swing Applet?
Hi guys,
I was just wondering what can I use to view output on the Java console with a Java Swing Applet?
At the moment I'm using a JTextArea within the Applet for debugging but I want output to appear in the browser java console but system.out.println doesn't work.
I'm viewing the Swing Applet on Netscape 4.7 browser.
Any ideas?System.out.println()s work fine! I'm guessing that your problem is that you are looking at the wrong console window!
You're using the Java Plug-in, right? On Windows, go to your Control Panel and double click "Java Plug-in". You should find a checkbox option to "Show Java Console" - make sure this is checked. Next time you fire up you JApplet, you should see a Java Console window popup.

How to load a java card applet into a java card

I am a novice to java card technology..
I have done some search on how to load a java card applet into a smart card but haven't found a satisfactory answer. I have read about installer.jar and scriptgen tool but I want to load the applet from a java program and not from command line. It would be of great help if somebody can help me out.
If somebody can share a sample program which load a javacard applet(.CAP file) into a smart card, I will be very thankful.
I am able to find some client applications which help us send APDU commands and recieve response APDU's to interact with an applet loaded on to the smart card but not application which actually load the applet.
I have heard of OCF and GP.. some say that OCF technology is outdated and no longer in use.. can somebosy throw some light on this too..

thanks for the quick response.. i checked out GPShell as suggested, it looked like a tool by which one can load an applet on to card and send some sample apdu commands... but I want to load the applet from the code.
My application should look something like this.. it will be a swing applicaton where I have a drop down with a list of readers, I select the one desired and then click on "LOAD" after inserting a blank java card, at this point my applet which is stored in my DB should get loaded on to the java card. The next step should be to personalize it where I enter the values for the static variables of my applet and click "PERSONALIZE", at this point all these values should be embedded into APDU commands and sent to the java card for processing.
For achieving this I am yet to find a comprehensive sample or documentation on the net.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. Describe the problem as fully as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have. -

In the application Express workspace when i click on Object Browser, we have a list of existing tables which displays. But cant view the table list now. could you please help. I can retrieve the data from the table in the region. I dont know how it got hidden.

ok so somehow my sister deleted all my photos off photo booth and now all my photos on iphoto i cant view them i want to know how i can get my deleted photos back and how to view the rest of my photos please help !!!!
Phonebooth is in your home folder under pictures with Iphoto and Ichat. Deleting pigtures from phonebooth should not remove any from Iphoto library. Something else had to happen.

applets. JCOP simulator is more then that. They are using thesame_ codebase for simulator and for oncard JCVM. Basically you are dealing with the same environment in both cases. -
I cant view my site in safari... hmmmmm
i forwarded my own domain to mask the url for my mac.web.com.yadda yadda yadda.
i forwarded the frame to web.mac.com/myusername
it took hours and it is finally working though my domain co said they didnt think it would. anyways.. it loads great on firefox but i cant view it on safari.
i type in the web address and the screen is blank. if i click on the screen my site appears. and the same for each page.. you click and it goes blank. and then you click on the blank screen and up pops the site.
and it doesnt work in internet explorer. images have x's and just aren't there.
i have emptied the cache, quite safari. checked the url forwarding.. it seems odd that it works in firefox but not safari.

bought domain with 1and1 and can't transfer to godaddy for a month. 1and1 says they can't frame redidrect with a backslash. it's odd it works on firefox. you need to click a blank page in safari and in ie for mac the words at the bottom om the home page come in broken, as do images throughout.
i am on phone with apple and the guy saw the page then it disappeared. he had me reset my safari which made me lose my igoogle home page preferences and didn't resolve the problem.
then he said it looks like you can't do what you are looking to do. I said yes you can. In fact Apple tells people they can do this when they are selling the software. He is researching it. -
Cant view my iphone summary pane
Nant view the details of my iphone...my laptop brokes so i plugged my phone on my desktop, but i cant view the details such as, version , name capacity and the rest at the Itunes summary...pls help

Cant view my albums by artwork
Hello,I have the latest version of I tunes, but cant view my library by artwork, (right hand side button) where the album covers are displayed in a circle like a jukebox. My mate can do it on his computer but on mine it just says "I Tunes is unable to browse album covers on this computer".

What version of the OS and of iPhoto '08? What has changed since it worked? where is your iPhoto library located? If on an external disk what format is it (hint it must be Mac OS extended (journaled) ). Have you "cleaned up your Mac using any software - like CleanMyMac2 or MacKeeper or others (Hint - do not run clean up software - it is not needed and often causes major problems)
If you have not cleaned up your Mac backup your iPhoto library and launch iPhoto while holding down the option and command keys until the first aid window appears - repair permissions and if needed repeat and rebuild your database

How can i delete synced photos on my ipad, when i cant view the photos on my pc
i cant view my photos on my pc, but it already synced my photos from my library and i want to remove them.
If you want to remove them all, connect your iPad to your computer via iTunes. Once your iPad is recognized on the left side, click on the device once to open it in iTunes. Click on Photos and uncheck Sycn All Photos and click apply and they will be removed.

To share your photos on a Windows PC (or any operating system) select them and export (file menu ==> export) to a destop folder - see this user tip for export optipons - and then in the finder right click on that folder and burn to disk
