Caps lock key problem

In Mack Book pro - the CAPS lock key will have to be kept pressed for a long time. There is no way to get rid of this. Any of you if you face this problem please let me know how to solve this.

Lion - num lock and caps lock keys problem

Since installing lion I have to have num lock key and caps lock key turned on to type normally (otherwise I get all numbers if num lock off, or all caps if cap lock off). It's like the keys' functions have been reversed. (2.16 GHz MacBook).
Any help much appreciated.

if you run Windows 8 and I guess you have backlit keyboard for your GT70 ONE, please try to download new firmware here, and give it a try, I guess the worng firmware installed in your system , please choose the firmware with backlit KB and install , good luck

Caps Lock Key Problem or Feature?

just wondering if this is a new feature on Penryn Macbooks, but if i hit the CAPS LOCK Key too fast it doesnt activate or turn on, if i hit it slower, like leave the finger on it a bit longer it does, is this the same for everyone?

Anyone else confirm this? and also does anyone find it annoying?

Problem that starts with *apparent* sticking caps lock key

I have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro (two weeks outside of AppleCare, of course!). Last night, it appeared the caps lock key was sticking. It would type in all caps even when I hit the button and the green indicator light went off. Moments later, I noticed that the option that shows you all the windows on the same screen was suddenly going very, very slow. I tried to restart but it started in safe mode - twice. It finally started correctly on the third or fourth reboot. I hoped it was a fluke.
Unfortunately it's happening again and rebooting doesn't seem to fix it - I can't put in my password to login because it thinks I'm typing in all caps.
Any ideas, please? Thanks.

This may enter the Apple Hall of Fame for stupid posts. I spent a couple hours last night restarting the computer, trying restore etc....and really doing anything I could from clinton's link in order to identify the problem. I'd even called our local store to let them know I would be there first thing in the morning (I'm boarding a plane in a few minutes and really needed my laptop for this trip).
So after doing all of those things + removing the caps lock key to see if it was somehow manually stuck, I go the store this morning. Virtual panic. I needed a presentation off the laptop for a workshop tomorrow and I hadn't backed up since I created it...
I enter the store, I begin to explain the situation in detail, I open up the laptop....
And the guy at the store says "Did you notice your shift key is stuck down?". Why No, I hadn't noticed that! With a tiny wiggle and a tap, that key popped back into place and the computer worked fine. The Safe Mode was happening because the shift key was down.

I can't get a capital c when I press the shift key, but I can get one with the with the caps lock key. Help

This is an edit to my original post,
I have also noticed the caps lock key blinks 5 times in fairly
quick succession then there is about a second delay then
it keeps repeating the same pattern,also the number
lock key is also on

I have a HP Probook 4535s (now out of warranty)
When I turn it on it freezes at the Hp start up screen
It does`nt matter which "F" key I press after a few
seconds it starts to beep (not in the identifying a
problem way) This includes the "Esc" key
Whatever key I have pressed it goes from just
text to having a white box around the text
but does nothing
I have reseated the RAM and them replaced
it I have also replaced the HDD, although it
is maller than the original all with the
same results, so am at a loss.
Any help and guidence would be most appreciated
Oh sorry I have also removed the battery and held
down the power button to purge it

Sorry to hear that. Please refer to the Blank Screen LED Error Codes document from HP Support. It sounds like a "General system board failure." The explanation says to contact HP for assistance. The motherboard might need to be replaced, and you will probably require the assistance of a technician to fix the problem.

Ya, I have already configured the softkey template for Call back feature and tested the same.
I am getting the call back notification if user is busy, but "Dial" softkey is not working wherein cancel and exit softkeys are working properly in call back notification ( i mean call back return message).

If you click on the link below it shows you how to sync, and the instructions are pretty standard with other wireless devices we have. The little receiver that you have plugged into the computer might not have a button on it, but there should be a sync button on the bottom side of the keyboard.
Also after doing some research I was able to find out that less and less of our wireless keyboards are coming with the standard caps lock light. Also if the wording itself doesn't come up on the screen when you press the button and the keyboard is functioning as such then the keyboard doesn't provide that function.

Black screen caps lock key blinks

Laptop screen is blank and the caps lock key blinks 3 times over and over..Tried doing what was suggested, taking out and reinstalling the memory card..also blew out the dust and didn't fix the problem ..I think it's Windows 7 installed.

I am sorry to here that you are getting this particular error code and that your initial troubleshooting has not helped.
I assume that you were looking through this page, and followed it.
Computer does not start and the LEDs blink or the computer beeps
LEDs blink 3 times
Memory
Module error not functional
If you have followed the process within that page, related to a memory problem, and it is still doing the same thing, then you are looking at two possibilities. One or more of the memory modules in your notebook is defective, or the main board has a faulty connection.
You can try testing the memory individually or by swapping them (if there are two) into the different memory sockets. Doing this you can isolate if one memory chip or the other is defective, or if it is a socket problem.
Once you know which problem it is , you will likely need to get replacement memory, or a replacement board, or in a worst case both.

Elitebook9470 not turning on,scroll and cap lock keys light up

I have an elitebook9470 which is about 2 years old. When I turn my laptop on the keys light up but the monitor remains blank. Then the scroll and caps lock keys light up however nothing appears on the monitor. I have charged my laptop and I am unsure if it is related to low power. I have tried attaching the laptop to an external monitor but no signal appears. Any help regarding this will be appreaciated. thanks for your help.

To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at Commercial Forums.
Even though this is a Commercial product, try performing a hard reset.
When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.
Here is a link on computer does not start.
You could reset the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings.

Satelite P50-A-14E - Caps lock key is not working

Hi all,
My CAPS LOCK key is not working on my Satelite P50-A-14E series laptop. Just realized while writing an email that is not working so is more or less sudden. Nothing has been spilled on it. Here is what I've checked so far:
- green light indicating that CAPS is LOCKED illuminates while pressing the key from on screen keyboard
- keyboard backlight doesn't start when I press the key but It works for the key itself when pressing any other key.
- tried a clean boot but no result.

Did you test the CAPS LOCK button using different software: internet browser, word or another editor?
How about the usage of external keyboard?
From my point of view there are two possible malfunctions: either there is some problem with the software you are using or the internal keyboard simply malfunctions and in such case the keyboard replacement will solve the problem.
You could test the external USB keyboard. In case the USB external keyboard CAPS LOCK button would functions, then the internal keyboard has to be replaced for sure.

Trackpad and caps lock key

The trackpad on my macbook has stopped working, as has the click button. i am having to use a usb mouse. Also the Caps lock key has reversed itself, when the light is on, Caps lock is off. The light is on as I am typing this. THE LIGHT IS OFF NOW. Any help on how I can get either fixed?

First, try resetting the SMC:

Second, remove the battery and then start up just from AC power. Does your trackpad work without the battery installed? If so, you may be one of the many whose battery seems to have warped out of shape.
If even without the battery installed your trackpad doesn't work, google up +macbook trackpad origami+, which will suggest a trick to deal with the opposite problem, that there's too little space between the trackpad and the battery.

Welcome to the forum,
please try to below steps :
1. Press Windows+C to open the Windows Charm Screen-> Go to Search to open the Apps Search Field.
Now, just type regedit.exe in the search field.
2. You will find an option on the left side of the registry editor calledHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Expand it.
3. Go to SYSTEM and expand it.
4. Choose CONTROL and expand it
5. Choose KeyBoard Layout and expand it.
6. In the right side of the screen Right click-> Go to New-> Select Binary Value.
7. Name it Scancode Map.
8. Double click on it and write the value 00000000 00000000 02000000 00003A00 00000000 and press OK.
9. Close the Registry Editor and Reboot.

HP Dv6z-7200 Notebook blinking caps lock key, red wifi button

I re-did the thermal paste on my computer (Dv6z-7200, AMD A10-4600m, Radeon 7670m, 6Gb RAM ) and i put it back together, and the screen does not come on, the power button lights up, the wifi key is red and then the caps lock key blinks indefinetly, and the fan comes on. Lucky for me my buddy has the same laptop so I took out the motherboard on mine and put it in his' with his' hard drive, RAM, wlan, etc. and it still didn't work. So it must be the motherboard, right? Could it be something with the BIOS? If it is the motherboard that is fried, could someone direct me to where i can get a new one? I tried the hp part surfer website, but could not find it. Thank you -Zach

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your Compaq Presario CQ62-102TX Notebook and getting a blank or black screen on startup. Try performing a hard reset. When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices, and remove memory cards from the card reader slot. Disconnect all non-essential devices. If that does not help try to turn on the computer you start to press F11 repeatedly till the menu opens. You can do a system restore.
