Caption to show in Gallery

I'm having a heck of a time getting captions to show with photos in Galleries. I try Caption, I try Titles in metadata. I believe Keywords is more of an organizing too. Caption or title doesn't seem to get then into the gallery and viewable to my clients.
Is there something I need to turn on or off to get a caption with a photo?
Thanks ...

So sorry. thanks for responding. Gallery is MobileMe display. I'm taking an Album in Aperture, clicking on Mobileme to publish for others to see in the form of a gallery which is a MobileMe feature. When viewed via web browser, captions for the photos were not visible. How to make them visible was my question and that was answered.

  • Captions Not Showing in List View Though They are There

    Ever since I've been using Aperture I've had issues with Captions not showing in List View. The caption is there and shows in the Info Panel but does not show in the List View. I close Aperture, reopen, and it appears in List View. Frustrating when trying to caption thousands of images. You think the image has no caption and when you add a caption it doubles up on what is already there, but could not been seen, and a mess is born. Any one else have this issue? I see it in every Library I create whether on my field laptop or my main desktop Library. Screen shot attached of caption showing in Info pane but not in list view.

    Happens all the time. The problem has been there for as long as I can remember, and shows itself in Keywords as well as Captions, maybe others. And yes, it is a major annoyance, and it is a bug IMO. You've found the same workaround I have, namely to restart Aperture.
    If you haven't already done so, submit a bug report using Aperture Feedback to add your voice to the list.

  • I am trying to put a caption on a photo. Why does the caption not show in the photo?

    In iPhoto, I would like to insert a CAPTION in the photo. When i enter my caption, it shows on the screen on top, but does not show in my slide show pictures.
    Can you help?

    Adding a caption will add metadata tags to the photo, but not write the text as a graphics annotation overlay to the picture. The slideshow themes do not include the metadata tags. If you want to present the photos with captions, swipe them nanually and not as a slideshow.
    You would need to find a different app to add graphic overlays to the photos for text written onto the photo.

  • Image captions not showing in fancybox...

    I was 99% sure that Chad's answer from April 2012 would work for me too, but, alas, it did not fix my photo gallery problem, and messed up my galleries. I can go back to the fancybox without captions, but I would really like to have them if possible.
    If you can, take a look. Did I just mess up the implementation?

    now the images take over the whole page and you can't navigate.
    I'll have to revert back soon (can't leave it this way too long)

    this was Chad's post from April 2012:
    What we know is they have pretty much disabled the BC lightbox effect and replaced it with fancybox.
    Problem is that in doing so they are not adding the title attribute back into the a tag for each image, which is were the captions are coming from.
    To fix this issue you will have to edit the code on your scripts.js file. I've created a jsfiddle page that shows the current code and what you will need to add to get the title attr back on your a tag.

    Let me know if this doesn't work. I'm 99% sure it will though.

  • Failure Caption not showing in playback

    The Failure Caption is not showing for me when I record a
    demo/simulation manually. I selected the Failure Caption check box
    for the click box options and entered caption text, but when you
    click outside of the click box area nothing displays when
    publsihed. It shows if I use the auto recording option but I don't
    like the way it displays the images in sequence for the application
    I'm recording against so I end up needing to take manual captures
    which presents the feedback problem again.

    Try moving the click box to the top layer of the slide. That
    usually works for me for some odd reason.

  • Closed Captioning not showing up at specified In / Out points

    Hi all,
    I recently upgraded to a trial of 7.2.1 (I'm a *long* time CS user) and am having an issue with closed captioning that's got me pulling my hair out. Upon importing a .scc file and inspecting it in the captions tab, I have all the captions I'm expecting at the proper timecodes (for example if I look up the start of a line in the program window the start timecode matches the "In" timecode listed in the Captions tab).
    However upon playing the timeline and turning on Closed Caption display - the captions are not displaying (nor disappearing) at the in/out timecodes listed in the caption tab. They're showing up (roughly) seven seconds later at the beginning of the program, and over 11 seconds late by the end of the program.
    Does anyone have the foggiest idea how to resolve this? I guess it's possible it's just a player issue and the issue will correct itself on output, but that's not really comforting. I could do what I need on this job by renewing my license for some other software, but Premiere would be a more versitile use of my limited software upgrade budget - but only if it can actually do the job properly.

    Hi Mark and monstremoi,
    With all the fiddling I've been doing in raw captioning files the fact that I didn't just try increasing the hight of the track is completely rediculous. Lo and behold, there are the handles! Once I could actually see the captions in the track I noticed something interesting - that the .scc and .xml files are being interpreted quite differently.
    If I take the same caption source file and output one xml and one scc and lay them on top of each other, this is what it looks like:
    The XML is starting immediately at timecode 0, even though the first start time should be 4:06 (weirdly the scc is actually starting at the right time code in this test, something it's refused to do previously).
    If I manually set the offset of the first caption by forwarding the xml caption track to 4:06 we get this:
    *This* XML track seems to play out synchronous with the program albeit with some odd formatting (it doesn't appear to be reading any of the font positioning information from the timed text file, it's just playing everything top frame, justified left.
    Already though up above you can see though that although the SCC stars at the right timecode, it's starting to drift out of sync less than 30 seconds in - which doesn't make any sense when both have been output from the same 29.97 timebase source.
    Monstremoi - to answer you questions, no I've not done any captioning work in premiere pro previously. I actually didn't even know it was a feature until I read about the improvements in CC. Most of our captioning files come from Annotation Edit (zeitanker.com). If they're not prepared in AnnotationEdit / AnnotationTranscriber, we usually do some conversion work through it before outputting (usually to set offsets or whatever if we're adding presentation cards or something).
    Happy to send you files to pull apart - although I'd rather not post them as a forum d/l link. Do you have an e-mail I can send them to?

  • How to move the Thumbnails & the photo caption to top in Galleria

  • Dynamically add a fade in/out transition to a caption when "showing" it from an Action?

    I have a conditional action set up where if things are not correct (text input in two entry fields), I show feedback in a caption box. I figured out how to set the caption box to be initially invisible (via unchecking the Visible checkbox for the caption's properties), and how to show it when this condition occurs. But I 'd like it to also do the traditionall transition of fade in & out when I show it fromt he action. My Advanced Action is executed when the user clicks an "OK" button.
    Any thoughts or advice?

    Yes. Plenty of media on either end. The good news is that trashing the permissions and repairing worked.
    BUT I have a question while these great minds are assembled...When repairing disk permissions the Utility says that to repair permissions on startup disk, start using my OSX install disk, which in my case is the the CD that came with my powerbook. When I tried to startup using that CD, holding down the "c" key on startup, it went into install mode. I told it I did not want to install, set the startup disk as the CD again, and kept looping around in this manner. I am probably missing a step...First question:
    1) Is it in fact necessary to start up from this CD in order to properly repair permissions?
    2) If yes, how do I get away from the install mode and to the disk utility, once the installer pops up.
    Thanks in advance. You guys are lifesavers once again.

  • Caption to photos - spry gallery

    hello
    i am trying to replicate the functionaly / effects given at this link http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/demos/gallery_pe/dynamic/index.html
    I wish to add caption to the photos which i handle via XML. Can anyone help me in putting caption / title to the photos
    regards
    ssg

    Hi,
    I have captions and images via Spry XML datasets at the following page http://www.thehmc.co.uk/photos.asp
    Try changing the example structure
    div id="picture">
    <div id="mainImageOutline"><img id="mainImage" alt="main image" src=""/></div>
    </div>
    To
    <div id="picture">
    <div id="mainImageOutline"><ul><li><img id="mainImage" alt="main image" src=""/>{caption}</li></ul></div>
    </div>
    Looks like the javascript file gallery_xds.js must be dynamically changing the
    src attribute of the image via CSS selectors via Spry.$$ or some such. So it will need to
    dynamically change the content of the li tag to include your captions.
    Here's an extract of the CSS I use to style my gallery
    /* This is for the photos page */
    .photoTitles {
         display:block;
         clear: both;
         width: 840px;
    .Gallery {
         list-style:none;
    .Gallery li {
         float:left;
         width:240px;
         height: 290px;
         margin-bottom:5px;
         margin-left: 15px;
         color:#000;
         background:#CC3;
         text-align: center;
         font-style: italic;
         font-weight:600;
    .Gallery img {
         display:block;
         width:220px;
         height:220px;     border: 10px solid #FFF;     }
    Doesn't have the nice animation of the Adobe Spry example but you should be able to adapt the structure to fit your needs.
    Cheers
    Phil

  • Captured images not showing in gallery Nokia N8

    I have 2 identical Nokia N8.
    I have changed nothing on either in terms of programs/ applications/ etc.
    When I took a photo, image would appear in both:
    - Gallery (1st page)
    - Captured (2nd page)
    Suddenly, on one phone only the photo is only appearing in the Captured images.
    Images are saved onto F. Memory card. I have tried ejecting & reinserting the memory card. I get "refreshing your media", but the items are still only showing in "Captured".
    When I sync photos with my pc the captured images are synced correctly.
    It is just annoying that I cannot access the Gallery immediately anymore.
    I do appreciate any tips.

    I do not have a card reader [I transfer with PC Suite]. I have tried the SDHC from my other phone, but this makes no difference.
    I do respect your comment on Forum rules (however, "On a repairability scale from 0-10 where 10 is the easiest to repair, the N8 scores 8." has piqued my interest (all the internet searches I have done only say "take it to Nokia Care", which is not an option for me - warranty has long expired). Am I right in thinking I should take it to a "generic" repair shop...
    Many thanks (and happy end to your weekends).
    If changing the SDHC does not help, that would point towards corruption on the C or E drive - which the software recovery tool should have solved. Since you have presumably backed up everything already and the N8 is in a risk-willing state, I suggest safe eject the SDHC from the Files app and then physically remove the memory card from the phone. Now in the Files app format the E drive on the phone (Notice that you lose off-line maps and apps installed on E) Then in the Camera app reset to defaults. Try and snap some photos and see how it goes without the memory card?
    Another run of the software recovery tool without the memory card inserted may also be useful. So may a fresh format of the memory card, to avoid something strange being inherited from the hidden folders and files on the memory card.
    All the above is just off the top of my head. I have never experienced this particular error on my N8 (knock on wood!) - My N8 has lost the notification LED functionality on the button and the small charge indicator LED a year ago. The rest of the phone does what it is supposed to do, and there are no obvious mechanical issues inside after a clean-up, so I decided to ignore it.
    The xenon trouble is either the "bulb" itself failing or the array of spring connectors from the motherboard failing.
    An N8 is built like a tank. Teardown instructions are found elsewhere. Whatever you decide, do not spend too much money on it. A second-hand N8 in fair condition is worth €50-80 in Denmark, perhaps even less now that Skype and the social app stopped working, and some of the root certificates expired. It still wakes me up in the morning every day - a simple task that the Lumia failed several times.

  • Why do my captions not show text when project is published?

    Hi all!
    I am having a strange problem, which I cant seem to find any info on!! I have several captions in my project with text in them- I can see these perfectly when I preview the project, the problem comes when I publish.....
    I have managed to publish fine to SWF (text shows up!), but when I publish to EXE, the captions appear but do not show the text (are blank).
    Any thoughts on this?
    Many thanks!

    Hi there
    Well that's just bizarre!
    Perhaps try publishing to a different Flash version? Or installing a different Flash version on the playback PC?
    Just thinking out loud... Rick

  • Still have issues in APP CC with captions not showing

    I tried to add to a discussion that was posted about this issue and for some reason couldn't. So, please pardon me for starting a new discussion. I've tried everything, read everything, implemented suggestions from others and still I cannot get my caption file to display on the program monitor. Caption display is enabled. The positioning and text color should allow me to see captions if they are they, and many long hours later, I have no more steam. Since others appear to have this issue, I wish that Adobe would please address this in a substantive way. Or maybe someone has a suggestion that I haven't tried. Please help. I have a project due next week and without captions, my client will not accept. Thank you so much.

    Please post a screenshot showing the following:

  • Casio Commando 4g Pictures from SD Card and Google not showing in Gallery!

    Hello everyone it's been a while!
    So I've had a couple of these shiny new Commandos and guess what?!? They've got issues :-/
    Here's my gripe, let see if the community is better help than Verizon Support and/or Casio Support. I picked up a new Commando on July 3rd and installed a 16gb SD Card. I used the device for 5 days then returned it ( long story ). I removed my SD Card with all my stuff on it. On July 17th I got another New Commando, installed my SD Card, annnnnnnnnnnd my photos are not showing in the Gallery......
    Now if I install Astro File Manager and look at the SD Card guess what? All the photos are there..
    So why won't this device add these photos to my Gallery?
    Also related to the Gallery: Why aren't my Google Photos showing up either? Yes I've got Sync Google Photos turned on in the settings.
    Thanks, Gary

    Okay, some ideas for the Gallery.  With each one check the Gallery app to see if it work before going to the next idea.
    Reboot the phone to force the phone to rescan the card at booting.
    In Settings > Storage unmount the SD card and then remount it.  This will also force the phone to rescan the SD card.
    In the Settings > Apps > all scroll down to Gallery and select it.  Clear the cache and data.  This will force the phone to rebuild the gallery folders.
    Turn off the phone and remove the SD card.  With a card reader, copy the entire contents of the SD card to a temp folder on a computer.  Properly disconnect the SD card from the computer and put it back into the phone.  From the Settings > Storage format the SD card in the phone.  Then using the method you prefer either the card reader or connect the phone to the computer via USB cable copy the contents of that temp folder back on to the SD card.  Disconnect the phone or the SD card from the computer properly and let the phone prepare the SD card (rescan it) and see if the folders show up.
    As for the Google sync for photos, my Tbolt has drop down menu in the gallery app to select and view the Picasa web albums.  I wonder if the Casio Commando has something similar. I haven't chance to go through the full user manual yet to see if there is more information on syncing web albums.
    Hopefully some this helps.

  • Creating rollover buttons that also show a gallery image

    Hi all.
    I'm a newbie to Dreamweaver, so please bear with me!
    Here's what I'm trying to do: I'm creating a portfolio gallery.  I want to have a thumbnail button that will rollover and show its "down" image and also the corresponding portfolio image in the gallery window.  I know this can be done, as I've seen it numerous times.  So far, I've only found tutorials on how to create the button and not both button and gallery image.
    Any suggestions?  And please - no code!  I can't seem to successfully implement code, as I'm html-retarded!  So if you can offer a tutorial link or even how to create this using the Designer interface in Dreamweaver, I'd TOTALLY appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    B.

    This isn't something you can do with HTML alone.  You need a slideshow or gallery widget.
    I recommend jQuery Fancybox
    http://fancybox.net/
    However a Google search will reveal tons of other ones.
    As for a mouseover effect on thumbnails, you can do that easily with CSS.
    Below is an example of Fancybox with CSS opacity applied to thumbnails.
