Capturing of Equipment Number Listed in Objects Tab of PM Order

Hi All,
I wanna to use User EXIT IWO10009 for Checking Some Values prior to save a order. inOrder there are some equipmens are mentioned in Objects tab page. now prior to saving the Order , i want to check whether Asset number is available in Equipment Master for the Equipments mentiones in Objects Tab Page. If it found the value then it should allow to save the Order otherwise it should POP up a message showing " The Equipment &EQUNR& is Not Having Asset Number, Kindly Get it update First" Order Save is Not Possible."

Get the equipment number from importing parameters of the exit CAUFVD_IMP-EQUNR .....
now fetch the data from master data of euipment table EQUI ....wrt that equipment number ......
if for the same record does not exits pop up the message using ...

Item number increament on component tab on order

Hi All,
Do we have a setting for changing the item number increment, for components tab page in Order ? Presently it is increasing by 0010, can we change it to increment by 0001 or 0005 ?
I have more then 1000 components on Order, how do I accommodate them on single order?

Sarang,
Interesting, even our sub division construction jobs with 100 construction points(Which is a rarity in the first place) don't have more than 500 components. Looks more like design decisions causing the issue.
Implicit enhancements is one of the ways to enhance standard objects without MODIFICATIONS.This functionality is provided by the framework in general.Some of the places that Implicit enhancements have been predefined are beginning and end of ANY PROCEDURES(FM, FORM,METHOD). PRT(equipment) number in order table

Dear Masters,
Can anybody guide me in which table the PRT(equipment) number can be found that is used in any particular order?
For Ex: I have an equipment "100002" that is defined as a PRT in my system and I am creating a maintenance order for other equipment "100003" and I am using euqipment "100002" in this order as a PRT tool.
Now, I want to built a report that can show the linkage between the maintenance order and the PRT used in this order. I want to know the table in which this relationshjip is stored. Please do guide me.

Thanks for your reply, but I found my answer. I wanted to get exact equipment number that is used as PRT in order which I found as below:
From Table VIAUFKST with respect to a particular AUFNR i got AUFPL which i used in table AFFH and got OBJID which further I used in table CRVE_B and got EQUNR that is the exact equipment number I wanted in my report.

BAPI to fetch equipment number from AUFNR in ISU

Hi,
I have a requirement to fetch the equipment details of a Work Order (from the OBJECTS tab in transaction IW33).
Also if anybody could suggest a BAPI to fetch installation from the work order number it would be very useful.

Hi Anand,
You can use BAPI 'BAPI_ALM_ORDER_GET_DETAIL' to fetch the equipment details from OBJECT tab of IW33 transaction.
You can get equipment details from ET_OLIST.

EAM: EQUIPMENT DISPLAY LISTS

Dear SAP Experts,
While maintaining the equipment masters in the system.
When I maintain the entries through address: IE01 - Create (General)
The Equipment is created and saved the Number range comes: 10000006 equipment created.
But while creating through lists editing :IE10 - Create
We can create the same with names and no numbers comes.
Now When I go to IE03 - Display
The equipments created in the Lists Editing is not shown in the IE03
Please throw some light on this ?

Hi AS,
When u create equipment thr IE10 u can go for either external numbering or internal numbering.
In IE10 ur inputs are mainly equipment category and plant.If u dont give reference equipment the new equipment(here its 10000006) will just have infos like planning plant,maint plant and equipment category.It doesnt have any other infos stored in it.(check the particular equip thr IE02)
So when u try to display the equipment thr address selection service, Equipment by serial number lists , equipments by functional locations,system wont display ur newly created equip since those datas are not maintained for that particular equipment.
So just search the equipment thr IE03 by giving the maint plant in Location data tab or planning plant in maintenance data tab and also maintain the period correctly in the euipment selection tab.
U will get the entire list of equipments of that plant.

Equipment number in vbap

Currently for our RMA process we, have an equipment number, Serial number, material number. We convert the RMA to a repair sales order. I would like this data from the RMA to populate the vbap table. I see that vbap has field equnr but this field never has any data.
Is there some way to get the equipment number, with copy control or something into vbap-equnr? Is there a way to see the vbap-equnr field from va01,va02,or va03, I do not see the field from the transaction, only from the table.

Is 'equnr' part of 'vbap' table?
Serial number is related to equipment number and you can assign serial no for material in Sales Order using Extras-->Technical Objects

Error: Number range for object RESB does not exist

I'm trying to convert a planned order (to purch requisition) partially via trxn code MD04. Upon saving I get the above error msg. The complete text of msg is as follows. I've maitained the number ranges of all the objects specified in this error msg. Can somebody explain on how to overcome this problem?

Equipment number not saved in AS02

Hi All,
Client is trying to link equipment number to asset master via change asset AS02.
After saving the asset master they are not able to see the equipment number.
We did the below customization and also implementer OSS notes 1329249 but nothing seems to be working.Please note client does not want to create new equipment number he want to link existing equipment to asset (AS02)
If anyone has solution for this issue please share with me...

Your question contains answer ... Please change "Change equipment NO SYNCHRONIZATION" into DIRECT SYNCHRONIZATION AFTER SAVING and also make sure that Synchronization button is on in AS02 for relevant assets in Allocation tab. Please do this and revert back. Please also refer to an excellent article about PM & AA synchronization. Hope it will help you solve your issue.

Message no. 01262 refers to the entered values in an authorization, not to the objects listed in the profile!
So this message tells you, that you have to split the authorization, as the authorization contains too many values. It is not a quesiton of that you have entered too many different objects to the profile!

QM01 - Equipment number

Hi,
This may be a config issue but I'm trying to help our Business Analyst sort out a problem.
He has created a new Notification type Q7 and in config has set Screen Type Hdr = H500, Screen Type Object = 0100 (Functional Location + equipment +assembly).
Our problem is that the equipment number is not being saved in the Notification table (QMEL).
Can anyone point us in the right direction please? Either there is more to do in config or we need to use a Badi/Enhancement point?

Thanks for that - I realised there was a typo, should have read VIQMEL (View)
Anyway, I've solved the problem using an enhancment point in the screen to save the equipment number using a parameter Id and then a Badi to retrieve it and populate the struture for saving. It all works fine now.
I would have thought this wasn't necessary tho if config is OK - we'll have to look into that more carefully at some point.

Entity object attribute with a list of objects

Does anyone know how one sets up an entity object that has an attribute with a list of objects as the type? (assuming that's supported)
as in:
CREATE TYPE phones AS VARRAY(10) OF varchar2(10);
Create table suppliers (supcode number(5),
Company varchar2(20),
ph phones);
The SOA Suite in jDeveloper (new Entity Object/attributes etc) has an ARRAY that can point to REF or OBJECT. Neither work. When I try to Create DB Object later from the Entity Object I've created I get an invalid type.

What you suggested about "validation codes on the VO" is not written on the ADF Documentation.
I try to blindly/strictly follow best practices (particularly on Validations, using Declartive and/or built in validators) on most ADF documentation and blogs but there are many scenarios on coding some large ADF projects that I think must veer away from the best practices stated on the documentation or maybe add new rules on the documentation depending on how complex an ADF project would be.
I religiously followed best practices stated on the documentation to use Entity and Attribute Validators when performing validations. What I did was i had created lots of Custom Validators (by implementing JboVAlidatorInterface interface) for each of the attributes on an Entity Object that need validated. So those validator is valid only for one attribute, its not reusable. And those validation codes either have reference to a ViewObject or call some PL/SQL procedure. So at some point are codes became messy.
Ultimately the whole project became harder to manage when the codes became large. Now I am trying to refactor the whole application by separating it into project/package and I am hoping to do it with little Re-coding as possible.
Hope to get your opinion on this one.

Tag files, Lists, and object typing

I'm passing a list of objects to a custom tag, created via a tag file.
I can access object properties in the jsp page like this -
<c:out value="${listOfItems[0].property}" />
but inside the tag it doesn't work. It understands that its being passed a list and the number of items in the list but not the type of objects in the list. I think I need to declare the type of object that the list is returning but I'm unsure of th jstl way of doing this.

JSTL uses introspection/reflection to call methods/access properties.
It doesn't have to know the type of object in the list.
How are you accessing this object in your tag file? Using EL again? That should work fine. If you use java/scriptlet code then you will need to cast the object.
Have you declared the attribute that is being passed in? What type are you expecting? Default is String unless you specify otherwise.
