Cards & Invitations

Hi Romans,
With the holidays fast approaching, many people are inviting family and friends to their holiday get-togethers, dinners and parties. What better way to invite or thank them for hosting, than sending invitations and cards with a personal touch! You can create a new invitation or card from scratch or use one of our templates as a foundation. Go to the Launch Bar > Create New > Cards & Invitations check out our template library.
Feel free to customize these templates as you see fit for the host of holidays coming up! For example, you can swap out photos, and change the colors and font to match any holiday. To get your wheels turning, check out this greeting card example using animation: http://bit.ly/9qwIuK.
Your feedback is always appreciated and helps shape Project ROME for the future, so let us know about your creation experiences (e.g., ease of use, issues, wants of ROME, etc.). Have fun!

sweet !
Looks I can simply reply from Gmail right to the forum !
Okay - so, back to what you asked - do i have anything to share ? Well, I do now, but have no idea how to share it.
I am still unsure how I could create a link to a template, so people can click on it and open what I have worked on, but clearly there must be a way to provide a 'view only' and a 'post you annotaions' and of course the 'collaborate' permissions level where several people can edit...
but - I don't know how to.
I have shared it - it is called Compose Business Card - and this is what I did...
but - when i do that, it never provides me a way to capture a link to this ...
I am not sure if this approach will work - but i can manage to save to my www.acrobat.com account, and then Share / Publish the "BusinessCard2.anh file - can people then access and then edit this somehow ? Is this the method (seems odd not to then offer different permissions levels) ...
Anyway, that link is here;
https://acrobat.com/#d=NE-Lz6uG*ObPFBOFKul1Hw
okay - so, here is the PDF file I exported from Project ROME;

  • What program can l use to make cards, presentation cards in my Mac? something equivalent to Corel Draw from Windows

I used to use Corel Draw from Windows to make cards, birthday cards, invitation cards, etc.
Now l want do the same in my Macbook pro, people told me Mac has something equal to Corel Draw. I wonder which program l can use to do that.

    Mary --
I used PrintShop for years.  Here's the link to the Apple Store page on "drawing."
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/software/design_publishing
Also "Print Explosion" is good.  It's included in this link:

iPhoto has a beautiful card making function, using your own photos.  It's stunning really.
If you have iPhoto, it's free.  If not, you can get it easily and cheaply via the AppStore.
You can also do photo books & calendars through iPhoto.
Also, Pages -- a program in iWork.  I haven't used it, but those who have, love it.

I'll bet that's the one you heard about.

  • What Credit Cards Should I Apply For?

Hi there, My Ch7 was discharged 4/15/15. I have applied for a First Premier Card (approved at $700) & Target (declined) and that is it. What cards should I apply for? Trying to rebuild and not sure how to go about it. Any advice is very much appreciated. All accounts are showing as closed on credit reports except for student loans.  Transunion is 558/ Equifax is 575

Hello, My BK7 was discharged in late March. I just applied for Express and New York & Co store cards using this link http://www.doctorofcredit.com/shopping-cart-trick-get-credit-cards-without-the-hard-pull/ This link contains a list of retail cards you can get with a SOFT PULL!! Just go to the retail site, put items in your cart, go to checkout.  If a card invitation pops up, click on it and be sure to use the same address that's on your credit report. The application only asks for the last 4 of your SS.  Since I recently moved, I entered my old address and immediately after approval called customer service to update my address and find out the credit limit.  Each account has a $250 limit. I think this  is a good way to avoid secured cards or worse yet, cards like 1st Premier and Credit One with outrageous rates.  My cards will arrive any day now! With proper usage of these accounts and my student loans reporting good payment history, I expect to receive unsecured offers in a few months.

  • Creating Animations with Project ROME

Have you seen the animation clips (Create New > Animations > Anim Clips)?  If so, this is just the tip of the iceberg of what you can create yourself!
You can animate just about anything you create or bring into Project ROME! So, we want to know if you've created an animation yet and have anything you could share. If not, can we inspire you with a challenge?
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we thought it would be really fun to create animated Thanksgiving e-card invites. Begin brainstorming ideas for your animation and start using the tools to see your animation come to life!
Don't hesitate to post your wonderful creations to the Exchange. Tell us about your process, what you loved and if you ran into any problems. Good luck and have fun!

I created an animation/presentation project for students "Shapes_Project1" and posted to the ROME template exchange and to edexchange.adobe.com. It is designed to show students the function of the transform panel and how simple shapes can be changed and animated. It also gives the students an opportunity to create pages to demonstrate their understanding. Let me know what you think.

  • Is it possible to add an 'Upload Image' option to a form in Muse CC 2014

    Hi,
Im building a website via Muse and BC for a movie star client who has images of herself tattooed by ardent fans. Basically, the website is a gallery for fans showcasing the very best in inked images of herself on their skin. On the contact form in Muse, I'd like to add an option somewhere for the client to upload an image of their own tattoo to be included in the gallery (which will be added/edited manually in PS).
Is this possible without too much xtra code? Or, will I need a single page where folks can upload their image to us which will include some sort of widget? I'd like to be able to manage it though without giving out an email address if possible?
    Any help most appreciated.
    Cheers

Hi Rohit, thank you for that.
I do have a FormsCentral account and notice on a tutorial I found on AdobeTV, that you can specify file types. This is something I'd like to be able to do as they will be images so PSD, png, jpg etc. But just looking over on BC I see that you can add 'Attach File 250mb limit' to a form (as you advised) but I can't see where you can limit to type? Is it in there?
Finally, will the image be uploaded to the BC server-side (if I use BC form creation method and not FormsCentral) in some type of assets folder or, will the form simply send any clients uploaded images to the specified email account within the form?
Whoops, final finally: Do you think that it is better to use FormsCentral for this or BC? I want the page to be customised so the form sits on some b-ground artwork. The client has a famous image where she is holding a burning card invite. I have already used this and overlaid a contact form in Muse which has worked really well, so I want to create a (hidden from menu) uploaded page looking exactly the same and this page will be linked directly from the other Contact page, driving any fans there who wish to then upload an image rather than just send a general contact. I hope that makes sense?
I guess what Im trying to find out is wether FormsCentral data gets fed back to BC in the same way a BC-created form would be seen in the dashboard area.
    Thanks Rohit

  • AppleWorks on a New iMac Intel

    Hi there,
I have a new iMac Intel computer. I purchased iWork with it; however, as I have many spreadsheets (Excel) and documents (Word) on a Windows XP computer I want to be able to bring them over to and work on them on the iMac. I want to keep the iMac as clean as possible and am not sure I want to use the Office for Mac that came with a 30-day trial. What I'm wondering about is whether the AppleWorks or iWork (2006) will allow me to update my existing Word documents. What might I lose? Eventually I'd like to move all my documents, spreadsheets and databases from Windows XP to Mac. I'd like to keep applications that I install on my iMac as native ones if and where possible.
I assume that I should have no problem installing AppleWorks 6 on the iMac Intel system?
Getting back to the databases, created using Access 2003, will they successfully come across to AppleWorks? Should I use an intermediate step of putting them into Excel first? Also, I have many MS Publisher 2003 files. Any likelihood that AppleWorks can open and edit these?
One last thing. I see that Pages will let me create greeting cards (invitations). How good is AppleWorks with these?
Thanks so much for suggestions and opinions. I am enjoying my new iMac immensely...

iMac Dual Intel 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   1 GB RAM, NetGear Router

    Hi there,
I have a new iMac Intel computer.
    Welcome to the Mac community.
    I purchased iWork
with it; however, as I have many spreadsheets (Excel)
and documents (Word) on a Windows XP computer I want
to be able to bring them over to and work on them on
the iMac. I want to keep the iMac as clean as
possible and am not sure I want to use the Office for
Mac that came with a 30-day trial. What I'm
wondering about is whether the AppleWorks or iWork
(2006) will allow me to update my existing Word
documents. What might I lose? Eventually I'd like
to move all my documents, spreadsheets and databases
    from Windows XP to Mac.
No application opens or saves Office files as well as Office does. Every other application that can handle Office has varying degrees of difficulty with the Office format. This is because Microsoft haven't made the file format for Office documents open and free.
Here's my list of programs that handle Office files, from the least effective to the most effective:
TextEdit (only does basic Word documents, think of it as WordPad on Windows)
AppleWorks (Poor in that content is translated but formatting is often lost. Only translates Word and Excel documents)
iWork '06 - Pages & Keynote (good to very good with Word and PowerPoint files, but not Excel)
NeoOffice/J or OpenOffice 2 (opens all types but Access, about 90% perfect)
Microsoft Office for Mac (mostly perfect, but doesn't include Access - it's not available for the Mac)
If you have to regularly swap documents with MS Office using friends, or use Office at work, then your only practical options are NeoOffice/J, OpenOffice 2, or Office for Mac. Pages is close but not good enough to replace Word when you're receiving all types of Word documents daily. NB NeoOffice/J or OpenOffice 2 are variations of the same program.
    I'd like to keep
applications that I install on my iMac as native ones
    if and where possible.
TextEdit and Pages are the only native (aka Universal Binary) programs in this list. AppleWorks will never be as it is gradually being replaced by iWork. The next release of Office for Mac (late this year?) will be native. And I believe NeoOffice/J or OpenOffice 2 will both be native at some point.
I assume that I should have no problem installing
AppleWorks 6 on the iMac Intel system?
You won't have a problem. It's not native, but it runs just as well as it does on a PowerPC based Mac.
Getting back to the databases, created using Access
2003, will they successfully come across to
AppleWorks? Should I use an intermediate step of
    putting them into Excel first?
The answer to these questions is Yes and No respectively. But the long answer is that there are two issues in this question: file format and database type.
Firstly, data can be exported from any database to another by using a common file format. Almost all databases will import/export CSV and TSV formatted files. That is, files whose values are separated by a comma, and files whose values are separated by a tab. eg A CSV file looks like this:
    val1, val2, val3
    val4, val5, val6
AppleWorks prefers TSV. So you can export the data from Access as a TSV file and open it in AppleWorks. NB The Access database's user interface can not be opened by AppleWorks.
Secondly, Access is a relational database, but AppleWorks is a flat-file database. This means that AppleWorks can only create one table. If you only have 1 table in your Access database then you're good to go. But if you've been using Access as a relational database containing many tables then you can't use AppleWorks and should look at FileMaker Pro, 4D, etc.
Also, I have many MS Publisher 2003 files.
    Any likelihood that AppleWorks
    can open and edit these?
No can do. Hardly any program, PC or Mac based opens Publisher files. Your best bet is to either continue using Publisher on the PC, save the Publisher files into a Word format and use them like that on the Mac, or save the Publisher files as a huge image (eg gif) and import them into any Mac program.
One last thing. I see that Pages will let me create
greeting cards (invitations). How good is AppleWorks
    with these?
AppleWorks is fine for cards, invitations, etc. It has a few templates for these as well. These are best created in AppleWorks' drawing module. But both Pages and other speciality programs like Print Shop do these better.
Thanks so much for suggestions and opinions. I am
    enjoying my new iMac immensely...
Be sure to ask us if you have any other questions about AppleWorks.
    Cheers.

  • Need help to find print graphics program compatible w/snow leopard

Now that it's clear my Print Explosion 3.0.2.8 program is thoroughly incompatible with snow leopard (Nova support over the phone: "we're working on a fix" and "hoping for one" but can't tell you if, when, or how we'll notify anyone if we succeed on 12/9/09), what compatible programs are there for 10.6.2? I read of issues with Print Shop 2, so don't want to plonk down more money after bad. Recommendations? Fixes? Suggestions? My usage is for things like signs, posters, cards, invites. Thanks.

Posterino, among others, seems like a good candidate. Perhaps Apple Pages would work too.

[edit] And here is the original discussion with Rohit's great advice and my completion using FormsCentral. Re: Is it possible to add an 'Upload Image' option to a form in Muse CC 2014

  • How can I print an envelope from the template Cards and Invitations on my HP Laserjet P2015?

I have been trying to print an envelope in Pages 09 on my mac from the template called Cards and Invitations. I select a template that is 5.75 x 8.75 inches. When I go to print this envelope with my HP Laserjet P2015 and correctly load it as the manual says, using tray 1, etc., the envelope does not print correctly. The preview shows the correct orientation, but it doesn't print correctly. I have seen that many others have requested information about printing in Pages. Has this situation been corrected yet? The #10 envelope template under Business forms in the template section, works fine. My printer supports envelopes of various sizes, so it must be something in the software for Pages that is the problem. Perhaps you can enlighten me on this problem. Thanks,
    judithfromaz

    Judith
Perhaps you can enlighten us as to what "does not print correctly" actually means.
    Miss-spells your name? or what?
How have you set up your Page set-up?
It has to agree with how you are feeding the envelope in and what printer driver you are using.

  • Trying to print invitations on custom sized card stock - like a postcard

Trying to print invitations on 8.5 x 5.5 card stock (like a postcard) and I cannot change the paper to a custom size.
When printing from the software, Print Artist Platinum 24, which has the correct size paper, the printer thinks I want to print an envelope.
How do I get the printer to print on the custom paper correctly?

    My custom settings.

invites not sent says create address card but I already have one

    Susan,
Quit Calendar, click on your card in Contacts, and select Contacts>Card>"Make This My Card."
If that is not successful, delete, and recreate your card. Then once again make sure to designate it "Make This My Card."

  • How to create My Card so that I can send ical invitations

    Hi,
Am trying to send out invitations on iMac OS X and get the response that I must set up a personal card in contacts first.
Ive done this, the advice from past support groups is to mark the card as 'My Card' however there is no option to do this.
By the way does it matter if My Card is on iCloud or iMac address book?
Finally, since synchronising my iPad with iMac and backing up to the iMac Ive lost the 'Invite' option on my iPad calendar.
    Any thoughts?
    Many thanks
    Denise

It is probably not possible to re-subscribe because FormsCentral is retiring soon.
We have created an import tool that can keep your questions and style to JotForm

  • ICal won't send meeting invitations; can't recognize My card

    Hello,
I have searched for this issue, and found a related article, but the fix didn't work for me. Here's the other article:
iCal unable to send the invitation; needs address card...
So when I try to send a meeting invitation using iCal, as soon as I type someone's email address, a message pops up:
"Calendar will be unable to send the invitation. - To be able to send invitations, you need to add your email address to your card in Contacts. '(null)' is not a valid email address"
I have tried creating a new card, restarted the system, reverted back to another card, but nothing works. I can no longer send meeting invitations. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Faisal

After speaking with Apple tech support, this turned out to be a contacts corruption issue. If i recall correctly, I did the following:
    - Exported all contacts using the *Export vCard option"
    - Exported all contacts again using the "Contacts Archive" option
    - Closed mail, contacts, calendar, rebooted the system
    - Opened Library/Preferences folder and deleted all instances of com.apple.addressbook*
    - Removed google account completely
    - There were a couple of other files that I was asked to delete. Sorry but I can't remember at this time
    - Rebooted the mac
    - Created a new entry for my card, and made it my own card.
    - Opened calendar, and added a new event; sent the event to a test email
    - Opened contacts. Imported all contacts using the vCard option
    - Re-added Google account
    - Back to normal.
    Hope this helps others.

  • Invitation/greeting card templates

Maybe I'm missing something, but if Apple really wants Pages to shine, they need to put invitation/greeting card templates in the app.  Again, I've only just bought the app, so I could very well have missed something.

To create a template should take no more than 5 minutes at most.
Make a dummy of the folded card out of a sheet of paper, then unfold it to act as a guide.
    1. Make a blank Layout mode document 2pp to the unfolded size
    2. Drag out 1 horizontal guide and 1 vertical guide to the centre of document dividing it into 4
    3. Make appropriate text boxes/image shapes on the 4 sections:
    +Menu > Format Advance > Define as Placeholder Text / Image+
    4. Rotate them into the correct position
    +Inspector > Metrics > Rotate+
    5. +Menu > File > Save as Template…
    Post a copy to http://www.iworkcommunity.com
