Case conversion for SQL and PL/SQL reserved key words

Hi!
Do we have available in Developer automatic conversion of the reserved words to upper cases?
For example in vim, it is possible to customize such way that after typing a reserved word : 'create' as am example and I type next a space it automatically converts it to upper case: 'CREATE'

You can do it afterwards with Format (CTRL-F7), but that will rearrange everything in your worksheet.
Also using code completion, the reserved words are always lower case. This is very disturbing, as I have to fix the case afterwards and lose more time than I initially won using the code completion.
I recon the case should be converted automatically upon typing, using the settings from the formatter.

Serial numbers for older versions do not work across platforms.
At one time, when the product was current, you could get Adobe to switch you to the other platform, but I don't know whether Adobe will do that for old versions. I do know it's not going to work if you try to use your Windows license for a Mac installation.

Doubtful that this would happen. Privacy laws would likely be tested with this.
No manufacturer does this.

Java reserved key words method

Is there any built in method in java that take a string as an argument and returns a boolean depending on whether the passed strig is a java reserved key word or not. for eg..if string such as "public", "class","int"..etc is passed to such a method then it returns true...I would appreciate if someone could help me out with this one..my email is [email protected]

Monthly FX conversion for months and quarters

Hi,
I have a scenario whereby my entities enter (YTD) data monthly. The FX conversion is defined with the "apply periodic" option, so it should work out the periodic change and apply the FX rate to that change. This works absolutely fine.
I now need to add entities that only enter data on a quarterly level. If I simply let them enter data in periods MAR, JUN, SEP and DEC the FX converison won't work, since it will work out the monthly change rather than the quarterly.
I though about in my time dimension having months (JAN to DEC) and quarters (Q1 to Q4) as base level elements all adding into the year. I would give JAN and Q1 a value of 1 for IS_BEGINNING.
Should this work and calculate the correct FX conversion for my quarterly data?

Different GL Codes for export and domestic behind account key ERL

I have created separate pricing procedures for export and domestic sales. The issue is that condition type PR00 is used in both procedures and the acount key behind PR00 is ERL. Now the issue is that from finance side, if i have to segregate revenue from export sales and revenue from domestic sales then how can i do that as the gl code is same in both procedures.

In account determination procedure you could use two different access sequence such that for domestic revenues 1st access will come into picture while for export the other one.

Am building a report and am stuck here where this piece of code that throws the following error
The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value.
My query goes some thing like this

Color Conversion for blends and Special Effects..

I need to change Magenta to cyan for the objects(blends) which was created by the way ( Object -> Blend -> Make) and also for the special effect objects which was created by the way (Effects -> Stylize-> DropShadow/Feather/Arrowheads etc. If i take the typename for blends item means it return PluginItem. How can i change the color for that item. Someone help me.

NEXT Time: If you know you ae shooting for eventual B&W, take along two monitors on set- both set up to bars; then turn off the chroma on one of them. That way you can light for it. Color fools our brains into seeing more detail than is really there. You'll note there's not near enough contrast in the b&w monitor with standard lighting. You'll want a stronger key, you'll want to play some with the shadow detail. If you're a purist about it, take along scopes and an engineer to tweak the camera for you. If it's a rental, be sure to put it back the way you found it! Nothing makes rental houses grumpier than to mess with their pristine gear.

The thing is i need to convert the encrypted String which is a byte array to a string . While decrypting i need to convert the encrypted string to a Byte .
I tried using String.getBytes() for converting a string to byte array , but this is giving an exception

}I cab use sun.misc.BASE64Decoder and sun.misc.BASE64Encoder which avoids this error, but this packages are sun proprietery packages so there is a chance of removing these in future releases.
Please suggest me the best way to tackle this

1) The "Jakarta Commons Codec" project has Base64 and Hex encoders that are well tested and well regarded. Google is your friend.
2) Since this is a new project, you should use AES rather than DESede.
3) The defaults when generating the Cipher object using
Cipher cipher = Cipher.getInstance("DESede");
            is for ECB block mode with PKCS5 padding. ECB is not a good block mode since it allows some limited forgery though splicing of ciphertext. Use one of the feedback modes such as CBC.
4) Why are you encrypting passwords rather than just hashing them? While there are situations where encryption rather than hashing is required, it is not the norm and does normally require justification.
5) Converting encrypted or hashed data to a String is not normally required. What are you doing with that requires this?

How do I solve the problem downloading Elements 13.1? I now have three different case numbers for Adobe and zero results.

The download always fails with the error code U44M1I210 but it tries to download every time I use Elements.

Please make sure that the two files (.exe & .7z) files are inside the same folder & then try extracting again.
if its still giving you issues then you may have to re download the .7z file.

How do I resolve, prevent and remove duplicate index key words?

The problem I'd like to resolve in in my index is: I have
mutiple 'Getting Started' topics in each module (for example). When
I open the Index in the application and click 'Getting Started' I
am presented with 41 selections. Could be more, I stopped counting
after 41 and refused to scroll. I would have to click on each one
to find the "Getting Started" topic I was looking for. I know as an
end user that I would come un-glued if I had to click and close 41+
topics in my quest for help . Help should be ... well, helpful. If
I need help the last thing I'm looking for is annoyance at a tool
that I hoped would be my salvation. As I'm writing this I'm
beginning to wonder if what I want can be accomplished. What can I
do to indicate to the user what specific topic any given "Getting
Started' refers to so they don't find themselves instead in a click
and close coma? It seems to me that I have a bloated, out of
control index. Any suggestions on how I might put my index on a
diet and provide optimal index effectiveness??

You could try renaming the topics to something like "Module A
Getting Started", "Module B Getting Started", etc. but I'd also
suggest that having 40+ topics against a keyword is not the right
way to do things. I personally wouldn't have 40+ Getting Started
topics. By all means have an Overview topic at the start of each
main area of your help and link to other parts of the same book
(e.g. to the major tasks).
A better way however may be to have a single Getting Started
book at (or near to) the top of your TOC which tells the users what
they can do. Then link to the topics elsewhere in the TOC that
provide the detail.
As far as indexing is concerned, we have an unwritten rule
that you have no more than two index levels and no more than 5-6
topics per keyword. If you think this is impossible maybe you need
to look at how you are indexing.

It's best not to use keywords (such as NUMBER) as variable names (or column names, or any other identifier). Sometimes you can get away with it, but then you might make some minor change and that will start raising an error. (Sometimes the change can be upgrading to a new version.) It's a bad idea, even if you don;t get punished for it right now.
