Case sensitive Usernames and deleting users

I created a user in a new database and did not get the case correct.  It needed to match a username in another database, since it was, in fact, the same user and I did not want to unnecessarily burn another license.  Since this newly created user had not made any transactions, I simply deleted the user so that I could create it in the proper case.  No Go.  The user no longer appears in SAP as a user, but it still exists in the OUSR table.  As a result, I am unable to create it with the correct case.
Please let me know what the best course of action is to correct this error.

  • Query in expdp with case-sensitive table and columnname

    Hi,
    I've got a problem with exporting some specific rows of a table.
    The problem is a case-sensitive table and column name. I've tried this in a parfile:
    dumpfile=dpumpdir1:test.dmp
    logfile=dpumpdir1:test.log
    tables="Data"
    query="Data":'"where "DataID" = 11"'
    but it ended like this:
    ORA-31693: Table data object "Data" failed to load/unload and is being skipped due to error:

  • Creating and deleting users using AM Client SDK

    Hi,
    I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to create and/or delete users from Access Manager from a standalone application using the AM Client SDK? From what I have read this can be done using the AMStoreConnection class but I can't find any examples on how to use this class to add and delete users. The only examples I have found is how to retrieve data from AM. I need to keep AM and the underlying directory server in sync with another identity datastore so I need to build a process in Java to do this. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    -Jeff

    Lets assume we have a HR system and the user has got deleted in the system, the HR system drop a CSV file to a specified location with the details of the user to be deleted from the IDM system . Now the CSV GTC connector would need to read the record and delete the user .
    This can be done , I have done this using API calls , but i assume that there would be someway of doing this using the OOB GTC .I think we need to set the correct value for the status field to do this ..
    I am not sure what status to set.

  • Getting eroor while copying and deleting user

    Hi All,
      I am unable to copy and delete users from one client, we are in ecc6.0. i am getting the following error while copying and deleting. the error is
    NUMBER_GET_NEXT AENDBELEG INTERVAL_MISSING.
    Please help me in this regard,
    thanks,

    Hi Praveen,
    Implement the program correction to ensure that the system issues the correct error message.
    Manually create the missing interval.
    You can use error message CD 121 to enable you to identify the error more accurately. Depending on the additional information, the status is as follows:
    OBJECT_MISSING : The entire AENDBELEG number range object is missing and must be created.
    INTERVAL_MISSING: Number range interval 01 is missing and must be created.
    INTERVAL_NOT_INTERNAL: The definition of number range interval 01 is incorrectly set to 'external number assignment'. Delete the 'external' selection in the interval definition.
    Check the definition of the AENDBELEG number range object in transaction SNRO:
    Object name:   AENDBELEG
    Short text:    Change documents
    Long text:     Number Ranges for Change Documents
    To-year flag:                        Do not select

  • Case sensitive usernames for wiki

    Hi I'm running the wiki services which get the usernames and passwords from another server which have upper and lowercase usernames, is there a way to ignorecase on usernames for the wiki? so if i type
    MSmith or msmith it still lets them login?

    Hi,
    AFAIK usernames whether Full or short names are case sensitive in OD. The wiki uses Password Server to authenticate against a user account. UserManagementv10.5.mnl for 10.5 Server describes the Open Directory creation and modification of a user account and the rules for Full and Short names. Case insensitivity is not covered.
    Using an add on script such as LDAP authenticators communicating with OD can implement any policy you want. But out of the box OD is case sensitive.

  • I recent la format the drive and create a case sensitive jornal and put a password. How I undo it if I just see the whole drive as the recovery disk

    I want to format my computer and I start to do that but I fondo a copy of the boot folder on the drive, not the recovery drive. I formated and make it case sensitive jornal with a password. Then I put a password in main too. So the drive the entre drive become my recovery drive.So I have two recovery drive I think.I learn almost all the diskutil comando and I don know how to fin it. The disks are not showing the one with the passwords.

    Hi Kappy,
    Just wondering if you had any advice for my situation . . .
    My time machine backup was backing up to a drive that was "Mac OS X Enteded Journaled, Case Sensitive."  I had no idea what this meant, or that it would even cause issues.
    I took my computer to the Apple store yesterday, and they wiped it clean.  When they tried to restore it from the Time Machine backup drive, it would not work.  Their guess is that Time Machine cannot restore from a drive that is "case sensitive."
    Any thoughts on how I can convert my time machine backup data from a "case sensitive" state, to a "non-case sensitive" state?  I've tried to just drag and drop the files from the case sensitive formatted drive to a new drive that I have that is formatted non case sensitive, but I get the following error message:
    "The volume has the wrong case sensitivity for a backup"
    I just really want my data back - I thought TimeMachine was the way to go (and was supposed to work) but unfortunately it is not.
    Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • CUA - Programs adding and deleting User Rolls

    Good Day;
    We are currently bring CUA up and using a sandbox as a test child system. Once fully deployed, we will have CUA controling all systems (Sandboxes, Dev, Quality), except production.
    Issue - We currently have an application that allows for the adding or deleting of Rolls through the portal. When this was testing, the program failed.
    We need to be able to test in both the development and quality systems.
    Question. Is there a way (config maybe) that a program would be able to add and delete Rolls as well as have CUA active.
    Regards

    Don,
    Thanks and I wish you luck on your adventure to CUA.
    I think the documentation you will find will not cover CUA landscape design.  It will only cover technical configuration.
    I based my design on functionality and some common sense.  I'll give you the reasonging for our design due to our project scenario.
    Production:
    We are using HR position base security and CUA.  The master is the ECC 6.0 system.  We have about 37,000 user IDs and IT 105s (HR info type for communition which is the user ID).
    Do I really want to mix my live users with DEV or QA?  The answer is NO.
    Our production portal UME points to ECC 6.0 and the iViews will point to other system such as SRM or BI.
    QA:
    QA CUA will have the same configuration as Production.  Why?  When you run "Integration Testing" - PROD is similar to QA - there will be no surprises on your testing after you move it to production.
    DEV:
    This will also be the same setup was QA & PROD.  DEV will have less users not 37,000 only a couple of hundred for test users and Project Team Members.
    Something to think about.  Lets say DEV, QA & PROD are in the same CUA and you have to run major service pack testing.  This will impact CUA and users that you need to SCUG back after.  Let's say the master CUA goes down, you will affect DEV, QA & PROD administration until that system goes up.    Just very messy.
    There are lot of ways to design CUA, choose one that will work for your current situation.
    Good Luck!

  • Adding and deleting users

    How do I eliminate other users from looking at my documents?

    Get replacements from AppleCare:
    Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 or visit online Help for more information.
    To contact product and tech support visit online support site.
    Then if you plan to sell the machine you can provide the discs that should go with it. You can prepare it for sale so that your data are permanently inaccessible:
    Prepare Your Mac for Sale
    Boot from the OS X Installer Disc One that came with the computer.  After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.  After DU loads select the startup volume from the left side list then click on the Erase tab.  Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) then click on the Options button.  Select the one pass Zero Data option and click on the OK button.  Then click on the Erase button.
    Note: You can skip the Zero Data option if you are not concerned about removing sensitive personal data from the hard drive.  If you choose to skip this part of the process then it is possible for others to recover data from the hard drive.  The Zero Data procedure will prevent others from getting access to your personal information.
    This process will take 30 minutes to several hours depending upon the size of the hard drive.  After formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Now complete the OS X installation.  At the completion of the installation do not restart the computer.  Instead just shut it off.  The next user will be presented with the Setup Assistant when they turn on the computer just as it would if new out of the box.

  • Mac OS X, User Folder and Case-sensitivity (plus a Partitioning Question)

    Hello everybody.
    Today, I'd like to start a new thread regarding the configuration of OS X and the formatting of the drive with a HFS+ (case-sensitive, journaled) file system.
    There is a problem that has been tormenting me for quite some time now, and so far I haven't been able to find a losution yet.
    Here is the issue. When I bought my MacBook Pro (early 2011), I changed the main dirve to an hybrid SSD destinating the original 750GB to a Time Machine backup disk. As a consequence I had to make a fresh install of OS X. When it came the time of formatting I've opted for:
    Creating two partitions: 1 for the OS and 1 for the user folder (I have only one admin-user). Back then, I was coming from a Win enviroment and having two partitions seemed to be the best option for me. (Less chanche of user-data corruption in case something goes wrong in the OS partition).
    Chose a HFS+ (case-sensitive, journaled) file system. It seemed to be the more complete alternative.
    Everything was absolutely for a couple of months then I encountered the first issue: Adobe products don't work on a case-sensitive fs.
    I managed to get Photoshop to work eventually (manually correcing folders name) and didn't care too much about the rest.
    In the meantime over a year has passed and I kept the mentioned configuration, uptdating to Lion and ML. Recently another couple of isses have appeared: AutoCAD presents the same problem as Adobe and there is an issue in the keyboard balcklight control (from forums seems that ML is not able to store any information in System Preferences regarding the backlight).
    Despite the fact that case-sensitive fs seems to be the future solution chosen by Apple, it is still premature to have it as OS fs unless you are an hard-core developer that don't care about tons of programs that would eventually miss from your application folder.
    Being decided to move back to a case-insesntive fs, I need wish I could calrify a couple of doubts before proceding:
    (Not relatete to fs) Is it a good practice to keep user folder on a separate volume? Does it generates any issue on the base of your experience?
    Is it possible to have the OS on case-insensitive fs and the user folder on a case-sensitive one? Does the OS have an issue with that?
    The second point is the most critical as my data are now on a case-sensitive volume. They mostly consists in documents, images and music which should be migrated on a case-insensitive volume seamlessy, however, I'm not 100% sure about what happened during the last year (i.e. if there has been the generation of not-unique names).
    Furhtermore, I wish I could keep a case-sens volume as I plan to be dealing with a Linux enviroment soon. If that could be the user volume, this would be amazing.
    I'd also like to ask personal opinion on advantages of having case-sens fs.
    I understand I asked lots of questions in a single post. I hope, however, that this thread could be a base to collect some of the quite dispersive topics related to case-sensitivity present on the web.
    Best Regards,
    Alexander

    alexanderxc wrote:
    Linc, in the provious post you said there might be issues having user data on a separte partition.
    Which kind of issues are you tihnking of? Have you ever encountered such problems?
    The biggest risk is that poorly written software will assume your home directory is at /Users/you and will fail (or worse) if it doesn't like what it finds there.
    I really appreciated if you could be more specific and don't worry about being too technical.
    There are two ways you can go about it.
    1) Set everything up normally as if you only had one partition. Create your user on that one parition. Then, copy all the real user data to the 2nd partition. Using your admin account, make sure that all the permission on the user folder on the 2nd partition are the same as on the original partition. The, use System Preferences > Users & Groups > your account > right/control click > Advanced > Home directory and change it to the home directory on the 2nd partition. Log in to that new account. Make sure everything works. Then delete the user directory at /Users.
    2) A even more robust, old-school option is to create an /etc/fstab file and have your 2nd partition mounted at /Users. Then, everything will function normally and your user home directories will all be at /Users. /Users will, however, be on a different volume.

  • Username - case sensitivity and embeded period

    I have been asked to investigate the impact of syncing our oracle user names with our AD names .. which would mean putting a period (dot) in the username. (example - john.doe). First attempt to create one returned an error which lead to the following testing:

    "This just gets curioser and curioser."
    This is the system I used for the test posted above - running on 32-bit OEL under vmware on my laptop
    SQL> select * from v$version;
    BANNER
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Prod
    PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    CORE10.2.0.4.0Production
    TNS for Linux: Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    5 rows selected.So I ran the test against our prod datbase, running under 64-bit HP-UX Itanium
    SQL> select * from v$version;
    BANNER
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi
    PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    CORE    10.2.0.4.0      Production
    TNS for HPUX: Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    5 rows selected.As for what about the two is not shown, the 32-bit Linux was built with the 10.2.0.1 base install, then the 10.2.0.4.0 patchset, then the Oct 2009 CPU - all before creating the database. The database was created from scripts using CREATE DATABASE, as generated originally by dbca (not the 'restore database' scripts from dbca when using one of their pre-defined templates.)
    The HP-UX system was built as a 10.2.0.1 database, upgraded to 10.2.0.4, and has all CPU's through Jan 2010.
    Both systems gave exactly the same results, which are obviously different from yours ....
    A mystery wrapped in an enigma ....
