Casting Error with EJB
I am currently working with Enterprise Java Beans for OAS.
In JDevelopper, when I run the snippet generated client for the EJB deployed
on OAS, I have this error:
java.lang.ClassCastException: EJBPack.AppEJBHome
at oracle.oas.container.corba.RemoteObject.narrow(Compiled Code)
at oracle.oas.container.corba.RemoteObject.narrow(Compiled Code)
at javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow(Compiled Code)
at EJBPack.AppEJBClient.main(Compiled Code)
Here is the code responsible for this error :

SAP Press Sneak Preview errors with EJB
I am using the WAS Sneak Preview that came with the SAP PRESS Programming with Java and I have been trying to create a test entity bean which I create from a JSP. I have basically made it mirror with one of the examples in the book albeit changing some of the names, but I seem to not be able to do it. This is the exception I am getting.
com.sap.engine.services.ejb.exceptions.BaseEJBException: Transaction system failure in method com.sap.demo.TestLocalHomeImpl0.create().
So I tried changing the "container transaction" to Not supported, but that only got me:

Before I go posting all my code, has anyone else run into a similiar error, or are there certain things to chase down first in order to find the culprit?

All of a sudden Im getting this error in the oc4j deployment:
Error: com.framework.business.bd.BusinessDelegateException: Error calling ServiceClassification EJB: com.framework.business.servicelocator.ServiceNotAvailableException: Could not connect to service: java.lang.ClassCastException: narrow() failed for class: org.openitsm.sr.facade.serviceclassification.ServiceClassificationHome. Check classpath to _iiopClient.jar containing stub classes
I didnt change any code or our administrator swears he didnt change any confirguration.
The code was working fine and then just stopped working.

Did you change anything in the database? Sometimes changing database objects, like triggers or tables or stored routines, can affect OC4J.
Did you try restarting OC4J?
Did you try undeploying and redeploying your application?

So we know that foreign Queue is active and accessiable from webLogic.
Anyone run into this? Solution?

Hence I need to retain the <trans-attribute>Required</trans-attribute> at the
MDB.

We have looked for information about the 'Bad version number' error, and we have recompile all our code with the JDK 1.5 (the same JDK for the OC4J). But we still have the error...

EJB(Entity -BMP) - casting error, lost for a solution
Evening all. I am currently working with EJB's. I am having difficulty with casting to my entity beans' home interface and can see not reason for the casting exception. I have spent the best part of two days trying to get these dam beans working and it is getting to me now as the solution is no doubt very simple.
So please enlighten me.

Error With Export/Print from Crystal Report Viewer
Hello there,
I've searched through the web and SAP discussion boards with not much luck with this issue.
After working through this for some days now I've decided to look here for help.
Environment:
I have created a web Crystal Report viewer application(Developed with SBOP BI Platform 4.0 SP06 .NET SDK Runtime) that communicates with a managed Cyrstal Server 2011 SP4 (Product 14.0)
I am able to connect and authenticate with the server, retrieve a token for communication and display reports in the Crystal report Viewer successfully.
Problem:
When I attempt to export, I receive the prompt to select format and pages.
When I click export after selections most times I receive an error with the text
Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to interface type 'CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.PropertyBag'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{74EEBC42-6C5D-11D3-9172-00902741EE7C}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)).
Other times the page simply refreshes on export.
When I click to print, no print dialog is displayed the page always refreshes and no error is displayed.
No Print or Export document is ever created.
As many print/export issues seems to be related, I'm guessing this two issues are as well.
Notes:
I am utilizing the ReportClientDocument model
I am storing this in session to use as the crystal report viewer report source on postbacks
I am assigning a subset of export formats to the crystal report viewer
I am setting particular parameters as well on the report source
At this point I would appreciate every assistance I may receive on this issue

In response to your questions
The runtime is installed on the web application server, if by that you mean the machine hosting the created .NET SDK application.
My question was whether it was also required on the Crystal Server 2011 (I.E. the main enterprise server with CMS and Report management and I guess RAS and all that). I figured this would remain untouched and queries would simply be made against it to retrieve/view reports e.t.c
If install of the SDK on Crystal Server 2011 is indeed required should I expect any interruption to any of the core services after a restart. I.E. I'm hoping that none of the SDK objects would interfere with the existing server objects (in SAP Business Objects)Reason I ask is I note that much of the SDK install directories are similar to the existing Crystal Enterprise Server 2011 (Product 14.0.0)
Is this temp folder to be manually created/configured or is it created by the application automatically to perform tasks. Or are you referring to the default C:\Windows\Temp directory and so saying that the application would try to use this for print and export tasks?Once I'm sure which I'd give the app pool user permission
Printing is to be client side but I figured by default (with the Crystal Report Viewer) it would simply pool and print from the user's printer. This is how it works with the previously used URL reporting approach (viewrpt.cwr). Therefore a user can print the document from wherever they are with their own printer.We don't intend on printing from the server machine, but are you suggesting that a printer must be installed on server (which one web or enterprise server) for any client side printing to work.
App pool is running in 32 bit mode
Initially didn't get anything useful from fiddler but I'd try and look closer on your suggestion.
It's also possible that some of my questions are a misunderstanding of APP vs RAS vs WEB, so please feel free to clarify. Currently I see the Web server as simply the created .NET SDK Application and RAS (Crystal Server 2011 e.t.c) as the existing fully established Application server which I simply pool for information.

I was deploying a test application for a session bean with sun 1 studio 5 and I started getting this message while deploying.
I had tested the bean previously and I had no problems.
I found this in the sun app server 7 release notes, but I don't understand what I'm supposed to do...
"Deployment of CMP beans fails.
The following error is thrown because there are no <query-params> entries in the container-managed persistence (CMP) bean in sun-ejb-jar.xml file:

I am trying to create a process to import to import data using a date variable but when I use the date to get the data from SQL server I am getting a error.
I have tried setting the variable as both a string and date - Select
CONVERT(varchar(10), DATEADD(day, -1, GETDATE()), 101) and map it to the Variable. The date variable is working. It’s correct in the Watch and I am able to use the variable to get data from an Open Link database (row_date = ?)
in the OLE DB Source query. I get a "Invalid character value for cast specification"
error when doing the same thing to get data from an SQL Server OLE DB Source
where the date field is DateTime (row_date = ?). I have tried making the variable as a date and string but get the same error regardless. To make it work, I have to duplicate the date
calculation in the query - HAVING (row_date = CONVERT(varchar(10), DATEADD(day, -1, GETDATE()), 101) ) which works fine.
HAVING (row_date = ?) gives the error with the Parameter mapped to the variable.
Any suggestions as to how to make this work correctly?May I suggest to use style 111 instead of 101?
From experience, yyyy/mm/dd date format will work most of the time for date conversion and
It's due to different date format from mm/dd/yyyy to the system date format that SQL Server is using.

Deployment Error with jdk 5 and oc4j_extended_101320.zip

I get the following error when I try to deploy my application using jdk 5 and oc4j (oc4j_extended_101320.zip) . I am sure no references of jdk1.4 are being used anywhere. I also tried deleting the persistence directory to make sure there are no lock files anywhere , but in vain. I am stuck with this problem and I urgently need a solution to get past this. RWB error: javax.ejb.CreateException XIRWBUSER cannot log
Hi,
When I try to monitor the messages processed by my integration server (RWB interface->Message Monitor->is.[instance].[server]), an authorization error occured:
"Unknown error: javax.ejb.CreateException: You cannot log on to system [SID] with user XIRWBUSER"
I ve read the following post but I didn't find any answer:

My XIRWBUSER has several roles:
SAP_SLD_CONFIGURATOR
SAP_XI_RWB_SERV_USER
SAP_XI_RWB_SERV_USER_MAIN
