Catch-all configuration

I am running multiple virtual domains with users associated with these domains and all is fine.
I need to configure a 'catch-all' account for all emails sent to *@domain.com where * is users that are not defined.
I tried the 'copy all undeliverable mail' option in system admin but get partial results? some emails get redirected to the mailbox I specified while others bounce back with a 550 'user unknown' error.
I need a fool-proof way to do this - any guidance would be much appreciated
Thanks

  • Nano syntax highlighting: catch-all syntax for configuration files

    After years of using nano, I only recently learned that it supports syntax coloring... (Why would they turn that off by default? ) Well, I thought I'll make up for it by making extra good use of it from now on...
    Unfortunately it didn't ship a highlighting syntax for the the kind of files that I use nano the most for: system configuration files.
    So I wrote my own, and after tweaking a bit here and there whenever I encountered a config file for which the highlighting wasn't satisfactory at first, I think the result is now good enough (screenshots below) that it's worth sharing with my fellow Arch users:
    Code & Instructions:
    Here is the syntax definition:
    # config file highlighting
    syntax "conf" "(\.(conf|config|cfg|cnf|rc|lst|list|defs|ini|desktop|mime|types|preset|cache|seat|service|htaccess)$|(^|/)(\w*crontab|mirrorlist|group|hosts|passwd|rpc|netconfig|shadow|fstab|inittab|inputrc|protocols|sudoers)$|conf.d/|.config/)"
    # default text
    color magenta "^.*$"
    # special values
    icolor brightblue "(^|\s|=)(default|true|false|on|off|yes|no)(\s|$)"
    # keys
    icolor cyan "^\s*(set\s+)?[A-Z0-9_\/\.\%\@+-]+\s*([:]|\>)"
    # commands
    color blue "^\s*set\s+\<"
    # punctuation
    color blue "[.]"
    # numbers
    color red "(^|\s|[[/:|<>(){}=,]|\])[-+]?[0-9](\.?[0-9])*%?($|\>)"
    # keys
    icolor cyan "^\s*(\$if )?([A-Z0-9_\/\.\%\@+-]|\s)+="
    # punctuation
    color blue "/"
    color brightwhite "(\]|[()<>[{},;:=])"
    color brightwhite "(^|\[|\{|\:)\s*-(\s|$)"
    # section headings
    icolor brightyellow "^\s*(\[([A-Z0-9_\.-]|\s)+\])+\s*$"
    color brightcyan "^\s*((Sub)?Section\s*(=|\>)|End(Sub)?Section\s*$)"
    color brightcyan "^\s*\$(end)?if(\s|$)"
    # URLs
    icolor green "\b(([A-Z]+://|www[.])[A-Z0-9/:#?&$=_\.\-]+)(\b|$| )"
    # XML-like tags
    icolor brightcyan "</?\w+((\s*\w+\s*=)?\s*("[^"]*"|'[^']*'|!?[A-Z0-9_:/]))*(\s*/)?>"
    # strings
    color yellow "\"(\\.|[^"])*\"" "'(\\.|[^'])*'"
    # comments
    color white "#.*$"
    color blue "^\s*##.*$"
    color white "^;.*$"
    color white start="<!--" end="-->"
    To install, save the above above code snippet as a file called conf.nanorc in the folder /usr/share/nano/ (or /usr/local/share/nano/ or similar if you feel strongly about the /usr <--> /usr/local separation), and then add the following to the end of the file /etc/nanorc:
    ## Configuration files (catch-all syntax)
    include "/usr/share/nano/conf.nanorc"
    Hints:
    The colors I chose look good (imo) with the terminal background and color settings that I use, but might not look good, or even readable, with yours, so simply change the color names in the code snippet to whatever you prefer - valid color names are:
    If you use a console with white background, you'll have to change at least the white color I chose for comments and punctuation.
    The first code line in the snippet includes a regular expression that defines for which file names this syntax highlighting should be used. Whenever you encounter a config file that is not matched by this, but you would still like to open it with syntax highlighting, you can manually select this syntax with nano's -Y switch, like so:
    nano -Y conf myConfigFile
    Technical Note:
    It's implemented as a single catch-all syntax, since nano chooses which syntax to apply based on the filename, and in the case of config files usually not much can be learned about the content format from the file name extension (.conf can by anything from flat key/value tuples to XML, .ini can be the official INI format or something else, etc...).
    This means that some compromises have been made, so with this highlighting syntax probably no config file looks 100% as good as a highlighting syntax that would be specifically optimized for one kind of config format, but all in all the vast majority of config files should look pretty good.

    /etc/rc.conf,  /etc/hosts:
    /etc/pacman.conf,  /etc/group:
    xorg.conf,  some .desktop file:
    httpd.conf (Apache config),  php.ini:
    More screenshots:

    You mean GNU makefiles?
    I'm afraid they might be out of scope for this generic config-file syntax.
    Logically they're not system config files, and technically they're a pretty specialized and complex format (different "types" of rules, rules spanning multiple lines, rules containing arbitrary Bash code, etc.).
    This is how an .mk file currently looks with this highlighting syntax:
    $ nano -Y conf /usr/lib/httpd/build/rules.mk
    And apart from highlighting variables of the form $$abc or $(abc), I'm not sure how much can be improved here without breaking the highlighting for more conventional config files.
    It would probably be better to create a specialized highlighting syntax just for .mk files.
    EDIT: I sat down and did just that, here's the result: nano syntax highlighting: GNU makefiles, and here is how the above makefile snipped looks with it:

  • Configure a Catch-All Mailbox in Exchange 2013

    Is it possible to create a catch-all rule which delivers mail sent to a non- existing mail address inside the organization (*@contoso.com), to a specific
    mailbox?
    Exchange 2013 Standard

    Hi All
    I have also used the Catch all agent from Codeplex, with great success.
    The only issue is, that the catch all transport agent HAS TO be installed, while your still at level CU3 or lower.
    We are now at exchange 2013 CU7, and the Catch all agent still works like a charm.
    Forget about journaling rules, these doesn´t work, in my experience

  • Mail 4.5 not retrieving catch-all mail from Pop Server.

    I use email fowarding for a domain (hosted at Godaddy) to forward to my verizon email account. For example: [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected] are forwarded to [email protected]  The Mail 4.5 client on my MacBook Pro (OSX 10.6.8) retrieves all this forwarded email correctly from the Verizon Pop3 server.
    I also have one of the domain email aliases setup as a catch-all account. For example [email protected] is configured as the catch all. Mail addressed to [email protected] is also retrieved from the Pop3 server correctly.
    But any mail directed to the catch-all account because the email address is invalid such as [email protected] is not retrieved by Mail 4.5 client.
    The 'catch-all' email is being forwarded correctly to my Verizon Pop server. If I log in to Verizon Webmail I can see the forwarded 'catch-all' emails in the Webmail Inbox. Also if I use Outlook 2010 on my PC to retrieve my Pop mail, it correctly brings down the 'catch-all' email.
    It certainly appears like something internal to Apple Mail is filtering the 'catch-all' email and not retrieving it from the Pop3 Server.
    If you can understand what I'm trying to report - can you help me figure out what is wrong?

    I now do want to catch all email as it has become my lives work to report spam.
    So I figured out an easier way to catch all email using simply the serveradmin command-line tool (this only takes email that would otherwise bounce):
    sudo serveradmin settings mail:imap:lmtp_luser_relay_enabled = yes
    sudo serveradmin settings mail:imap:lmtp_luser_relay = catchallusername
    sudo postfix reload

  • ACE Strange setup: catch-all rule and no normalization

    Hi,
    I have the following setup:
                                                    Internet
                                                          |
    PC1             ACE                 Default Gateway
    |                    |                                |
    ===================================
    I need to fullfull 2 requirements for this one-armed setup:
    1)     Incoming requests from the Internet must have visibility on the client source-IP. This has been solved by configuring the default GW of the PC1 server pointing to ACE (and not to the Deafult GW) and by not configuring source-NAT (nat dynamic command on the relevant classes).
    2)     PC1  must also initiate traffic to the internet using PC1 source address (and not ACE source address). Therefore we configured a catch-all rule that is intercepting this traffic and sending it to the external world via the Default Gateway and also we disabled normalization.
    It works, both point 1 and point 2. My questions are:
    1)     Have you ever seen such a design in place and it is a supported Cisco design? I.e. Use a catch-all rule to intercept traffic to send it to the default GW, all this configured in a one-armed design like we have.
    2)     Do you think it could create a traffic loop if the catch all rule would intercept other  traffic passing via the ACE? In PROD we have different contexts all configured in the same VLANK0 and I guess we should check that any of this traffic is impacted?
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Giulio.

    Guilio,
    I think a "black hole" configuration (match virtual-address 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 any) like this, may cause unexpected behavior sooner or later.
    I consider an alternate solution would be either to change the design or perhaps apply a x-forward-for feature where you can inject the original source address no matter you apply NAT.

  • How to setup a catch all email accounts on a domain?

    I am currently hosting several different domains on our server. On one of the domains, we would like to set up a catch all email account. Right now we have [email protected], and [email protected], but would like emails sent to any other address ('anything'@domain.com) to be directed to the [email protected] Is there a way to set up a wild card email address entry for a specific user account?

    Don't do this. Seriously.
    Your wildcard account will get inundated with every dictionary-based spam directed at your domain.
    Many spambots just try common names at every domain they can find - alex@, andrew@, joe@, john@, etc. sometimes generating tens of thousands of messages in the hope that one or two names match legitimate accounts.
    If you setup a wildcard account, all these messages will be accepted and dumped into this mailbox. If you don't have a wildcard account the messages will be rejected with a 'no such user' error (or dropped silently, depending on your mail server setup).
    If you really do want to do it, then you need to get under the hood and configure postfix manually (Server Admin won't do this for you). The specifics are covered in the Postfix virtual accounts documentation.

  • How to catch ALL Exception in ONE TIME

    I'm explain my issue:
    I'm making a program with Class, Swing, Thread ...
    Then all action I do on my graphical application, I use a new thread, well
    I want to capture in my Startup programs, all unknow exception and then, I display it with a JOptionPane for example
    In fact, I want to do something like Eclipse, when it crash, I capture the error
    Could you help me ? Tell me the best way to do that ?
    This is an exemple
    FILE: Startup.java
    class Startup{
    public static main (String args[]){
    try{
    new Main();
    }catch(Throwable e){
    //Message d'erreur fenetre
    FILE: Main.java
    class Main{
    Main(){
    init_action();
    void init_action(){
    mybutton.addActionListener(new ActionListener(){
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){
    Thread th=new Thread(){
    public void run(){
    int a = 1 / 0;
    th.start();
    Well, in this example I want to capture the Divide By 0, I use the Throwable Exeption, in order to be sure I catch all unknow exeption
    Then, a good job, is to put throws Throwable in all function
    but Thread, and ActionPerformed ... could not implement it
    How to put this exception and jump it to Startup Program ?

    I already do that, what can I do for improving capture ?
    That's impossible ... It will be a great idea to make a Redirection of Error to a Exception class in futur version
    For example, when an unknow error arrive, don't show it on console and crash ... but run a class redirector exception, and magic, it show you a beautiful error warning, and stop properly the programme ...
    I put an error class, and put try {] catch {} everywhere, and run my exception class,
    this class detect the error exception and run a properly beautiful and clear french message (I'm french :d)
    Well, If you have the BEST other idea, tell me, I read your message with a lot of regard
    see you soon

  • BPEL catch all block doesn't catch fault

    Hi,
    I have a catch all block in my BPEL process. One instance tried to write to the Oracle database without success throwing a fault which wasn't taken by BPEL's catch all. I see an error on invoke but it does not go to catch all block.
    Exception occured when binding was invoked. Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'merge' failed due to: DBWriteInteractionSpec Execute Failed Exception. merge failed. Descriptor name: [writeCountry.Country]. Caused by java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: No more data to read from socket. Please see the logs for the full DBAdapter logging output prior to this exception. This exception is considered retriable, likely due to a communication failure. Because the global transaction is rolling back the invoke must be retried in a new transaction, restarting from the place of the last transaction commit. To classify it as non-retriable instead add property nonRetriableErrorCodes with value "17410" to your deployment descriptor (i.e. weblogic-ra.xml). ". The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception. Please examine the above error message carefully to determine a resolution.
    Global retry rollback fault thrown.
    The current JTA transaction is aborting due to an user rollback fault being thrown. The upstream component should retry in a new JTA transaction upon catching this fault.
    This exception was caused by a global retry fault being thrown from downstream component. The user had directed the BPEL engine to roll back the current JTA transaction and retry within new JTA transactions for the specified number of times and retry interval.
    There is no action recommended.
    Ah, I have one more question, I have a BPEL process wich write to the database to the table X. Some time ago i extended the table X and add one more column. Why does BPEL lost all data in dbadapter and does not sygnalize any error when invoked adapter? Usually when I drop or alter table i get an error message. This time I see that the transformation which was before invoke to dbadapter was done correctly but I can see no data in invoke which should be written
    All environment is on 11.1.1.6, BPEL 2.0

    Aye. My catch all block is defined for a parent scope. Just some arrors are not catch by catch all block (the same as for OutOfMemoryError for java - which will never be catched). I just wonder, because my red invoke activity in the EM sygnalizes error and throw error message but catch all block does not get it. Process stoped on error invoke and not go into catch all.
    Change table aspect. I don't have a problem, because i deleted old and implemented new adapter. It works. I just wonder why when I deleted an atribute (column) from DB I got en error and process stops, but when I extended a table, my process were runing to the end and was marked as finished completely. Something is wrong here, because adapter didnt write all data it should write. Process were going and was finished without throwing an error.

  • Catch all error information while validating xml content with xsd schema

    Hi experts,
    I created a java mapping to validating the input xml content with xsd schema (schema validation). What I want is to catch all error message to the xml not just the first error. I used SAXParser in sapxmltoolkit.jar to do the schema validation. The below is a part of my java mapping.
    XMLReader parser = XMLReaderFactory.createXMLReader("com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.SAXParser");
    parser.setFeature( "http://xml.org/sax/features/validation" ,  true);
    parser.setFeature( "http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema" , true);
    parser.setProperty("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage", "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema");          parser.setProperty("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaSource",this.getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream(schema)); // schema is my schema name
    parser.setErrorHandler(new ParseErrorHandler()); // ParseErrorHandler is my own ErrorHandler which extends DefaultHandler
    parser.parse(new InputSource(new ByteArrayInputStream(sinput.getBytes())));
    // In error handler, I comment all code so as not to throw any exception
    public class ParseErrorHandler extends DefaultHandler
         public void error(SAXParseException e) throws SAXException
              // sSystem.out.println("Error" + e.getMessage());

         public void fatalError(SAXParseException e)

  • Best Practice: JavaFX pattern for "Catching all Exceptions"

    Hi,
    what is on the current JavaFX Standard the best way to catch all Exceptions (centralized) within my JavaFX application...
    I read thread outside this Oracle Forum who recommend following:
    1. Thread.setDefaultUncaughtExceptionHandler(new MyExceptionHandler());
    --> catch all runtime exceptions
    2. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12318861/javafx-2-catching-all-runtime-exceptions
    --> Implementing some source code who wrap the current GUI thread...
    3. I read something like:
    "JavaFX exception handling is almost identical to that in Java, apart from the fact that checked exceptions are handled in the same way as unchecked exceptions. This is good news for most Java programmers moving to JavaFX because you are no longer obliged to catch and handle exceptions."
    Sounds very good! But where/how can I do this ???

    No recommendation whats the best way to do it?
    Catching each Exception in different layers is boring ! :-(

  • ICP Mappings being picked up by Catch all and not by like mappings???

    Hello,
    In FDM we have set up mapping tables for Account and ICP. In the source G/L the account drives both Account in HFM and ICP. Both of the mappings are the same:
    ???-3950-000 account mapps to 3111315
    ???-3950-000 ICP maps to CORUS117
    When I validate the file the account gets picked up correctly but the ICP get picked up by the catch all of * -> [ICP None].
    If i change the like mapping to an explicit mapping it works, can anyone help?
    John

    In your like map does the *->ICP None come before the ???-395-000 mapings?
    If yes put the ??? above the *.

  • Catching all errors

    Hi
    is there a way to catch all errors, I know you can do try and
    catch fro your code
    about how about errors that come from built in Flex component
    I am trying to catch all errors and show it to the user in
    better format
    but most important, it seems flex will be frozen and you can
    do anything if the error is not caught and the only way around it
    to restart your browser
    Please help
    Thanks
    Kasem

    Everything I read suggests that this isn't possible in Flex.
    It seems that uncaught exceptions are handled by the Flash player.
    This link discusses the problem in Flex 1.5 and it notes the
    problem is not fixed in Flex 2.
    http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg25874.html
    I'm going to continue to look. I really can't imagine that
    Adobe spent all that time reworking Flex and didn't address this
    problem.

  • How can I hide "Taxonomy Catch All Column" without using PowerShell?

    After having moved some files around, I find that my view and edit properties forms include the field "Taxonomy Catch All Column" and the field IDs which are just going to be confusing gobbledegook to my end users.
    I can't seem to find a way to get rid of it. I can't delete it and I can't see where to hide it. Searches only seem to turn up PowerShell script solutions, and I can't use PowerShell.
    It's SharePoint 2010 Server, I'm a site admin and I can use SharePoint Designer, but not powershell, no server access, no central admin access.
    Can anyone help please?

    Hi,
    For your issue, it seems to be related to use Content & Structure.
    If you choose to move content that contains managed metadata columns (or presumably enterprise keywords), the Taxonomy Catch All column shows up after you use the "Content and structure" tool. It shows up as a column in the library and is visible
    in "Edit Properties" on every document.
    Why are you can’t use power shell? It is convenient to solve your problem with power shell.

  • Which all configurations you need to do in R/3 for an Idoc to file scenario

    which all configurations you need to do in R/3 for an Idoc to file scenario?
    Rgds
    Ruchitha

    Hi ruchitha thakur  ,
    A Summary of the Steps to be carried out to enable a SAP R/3 System send Idocs to SAP Exchange Infrastructure.
    First - Maintain the Sender R/3 System:
    SM59 : Create a RFC destination to XI
    WE21 : Create a TRFC Port ->Specify the RFC Destination Created
    BD54 : Create a Logical System for the Idoc Receiver
    WE20 : Create Partner Profile ->Maintain Outbound and the Inbound Parameters
    Second - Log on to XI System:
    SM59 : RFC Destination for Sender System
    IDX1 : Create the port to get Idoc Metadata from Sender System ( The Port Name must match the port name in the idoc header - Usually in format SAP<System ID>. eg. SAPID1 [Optional Step. Not mandatory]
    IDX2 : Maintain the Idoc Metadata. This is needed only by XI, and not by other SAP systems. IDX2 is needed because XI needs to construct IDoc-XML from the IDoc. No other SAP system needs to do that.
    To Enable Acknowledgement:
    SXMB_ADM ->Integration Engine Configuration ->Specific Configuration ->Add New entry -> Select parameters as:
    Category: RUNTIME
    Parameters: ACK_SYSTEM_FAILURE
    Current Value: 1
    GO TO SLD:
    Create Technical System: Choose WEB AS ABAP if the system is R/3 -> Define SAP SID, Installation Number and Database Host Name a Maintain message Server Details according to Sender System -> Maintain Client Details of Sender System ->Select a Installed Product for Sender System
    Create Business System: Choose WEB AS ABAP if the system is R/3 -> Choose the Technical System and the client Created Before -> Choose the Installed Product -> Set:
    Business System Role: Application System
    Related Integration Server: Integration Server
    Integration Builder
    Integration Directory:
    Add Business System:  Adapter Specific Identifiers -> 'Logical System' identical to the 'Logical System Name' in the SLD Business System
    IDoc Receiver Communication Channel: port the same as XI System IDX1

  • Catching all Throwables

    Hi all,
    What is the best way to catch all Throwables, e.g. Errors and Exceptions? I want to catch all Throwables appearing in my app in all Threads even in the EventQueues etc.
    Thx for any hint, Mathias

    What about catching every output to System.err? I
    think every stacktrace is going to System.err. But how
    do I know when an output is finished, e.g. when to
    popup my dialog? As someone has pointed out this is a very bad idea. A dialog presumes that the GUI is working. What if the gui is throwing the exception? What if your exception dialog is throwing the exception....
    exception thrown, dialog starts and throws exception,
    dialog starts and throws exception,
    dialog starts and throws exception,
    And I am not repeating myself above. That is what your code is going to do.
    I always catch throwable. I put it in main, I do a printStackTrace and then I exit the app. I am hopeful that it will print the stack trace. And even if it doesn't then the app will still end.
