CCD camera to view live

http://store.mp3car.com/CCDInfrared_Camerap/com-003.htm
Hi,I have this model CCD camera that I would like to view on the computer live.
The option to use as a web cam would be interesting as well.
I suspect I may need a USB/ fire wire adaptor to the single video Rca tap coming from the camera.
The second lead from camera is 12v. This is coming from brick in the wall.
I have had the camera hooked up to video input feed to a TV, and it really works well.
Thanks if you have info on this.

Hello EZ Jim,
Here is what came up as an alternative from looking at the device you referred to.
It seems to be geared in my favor I believe. Here's a small tid-bit from the site's description.
EyeTV 250 Plus comes with a composite video and S-Video break-out cable. Use it to connect a set top box (one that has analog outputs) to watch cable and satellite TV on your Mac, convert videotapes to DVD, and convert analog video to iPod/iPhone/Apple TV formats. The included VHS Assistant and iPod Assistant will guide you through the setup.
Comes with EyeTV 3 software, Toast 8 Basic, and an Infrared Remote
I never got around to Toast in all it's years out there.

Then this site, but I have not explored it yet.
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Miglia/TVPCISIL/
Elgato looks impressive, with dedicated device versions as the site's specialty.
I do have the Pinnacle System v9, but I assume PC version. Receipt shows $400 for some of it.
A quick look in the box, does show PC in use. It's the whole system of Show Center & PCtv USB2.
I may have to ask them just for the heck of it. Well, You did get me to dig it out.
The Show Center has option for Scart connection and switch for PAL. I did not have fun with those in Europe. Components always came apart at the huge block connection.
I really don't want to torture my old Tower PC, or older still laptop.
But, a little light came on with the thought of the newer Dual boot Macs to use what I have.
I could use an upgrade in gear anyway. If that works.
The mission continues, and Your star was well earned for the fridge .
Cheers

    • Only if your video camera supports it.  Depending on how your camera works, you may need to add preview software to your Mac to use this feature.
    • Alternatively, your camera may also be able to record directly into your Mac while you are monitoring the Mac's display.
    • If you are using a consumer camcorder that supports HDMI monitoring, a small HDTV might be an simpler solution than your Mac.  For an example of how this is done, see http://youtu.be/GVpSkZD6qE4.
    • The retailer who sold you your video camera may have other suggestions.
    • If you need more professional results, an external preview monitor will offer more capability on compatible cameras.

You will need hardware (Image Acquisition Boards) and software (IMAQ) from NI vision products and services. Check http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nioc.vp?cid=1286〈=US for additional infromation.

  • Getting back the old camera roll view

Ok, so I don't have time for this BS. But apple obviously has no interest in taking any responsibility for their desicions, or in their users' views, and hence I am referred to this user forum.
How do I get back to the old camera roll view? I'm not interrested in having apple sort my photos for me, the way the latest update seems to have forced on me. I want to be able to see all my photos in one continuous stream, like before. How do I accomplish this?

There seems to be two of us in total, who are frustrated about this... I can´t believe it... This is the most obnoxious change apple has made in a loooong time. And there is NO way of contacting them directly about it. It seems that speaking to customers is simply beneath their dignity, unless you have purchased a new product very, very recently and still qualify for their precious support. They obviously don´t care even the least about the potential negative consequences for their customers of the updates they more or less impose on us. Do they have some kind of policy that goes something like this: "We are Apple, and we are so completely full of ourselves that it´s beyond comprehension. Do NOT bother us with questions about our recent software updates!! We don´t care about you enough for that!! We know that we have a solid customer base anyway, so if you are disappointed with us in any way, that´s just too bad for you. If you need help, even if a change we made without consulting you is the cause of that need for help - ask another Apple product user, NOT US!!! We have better things to do!!"I´m so infuriated right now that I´m about to hurtle my iPhone to kingdom come. WEAK, Apple!!! (Of coarse, no one at Apple is actually going to read this...I don´t even know why I´m bothering... )

  • How to get the real-time data from a CCD camera in labview?

I am going to setup a monitor system and need to acquire the intensity of each pixel at each second from a CCD camera. Also, I need to to some simple calculations with these real-time data at every moment to get my finanl output in this monitor system.
How may I do this using Labview?
    Thank you very much.
    Kai

We don't have special powers, so we can't guess if you have Imaq Vision or not, if your camera comes with a LabVIEW driver, if it has an USB interface, or firewire, or a dedicated NI card, if you just want to detect a move, or a change in intensity, etc...
So, try to be more specific with your question, that will helps a lot

  • Saving image from CCD Camera (without IMAQ and Vision)

    Hi,
I am using the basic Labview 7.0 (no IMAQ and no Vision). I am triggering a
CCD camera (Megaplus ES 310 Turbo) from my NI acquisition card and the
signal goes to the triggering input of the camera. How to save the file
captured by the camera under labview? I found the "Write a jpg" VI but how
can I refer the image data to it?
    Any clue is truly welcome.
    Thanks
    Mathieu

    Hi Matthieu,
What kind of format is your CCD image in? If it’s in some sort of a pixmap (2D array) then you can use the Flatten Pixmap VI in All Functions >> Graphics and Sound >> Graphics Format to convert the pixmap to an image data cluster. You can then pass this image data cluster into the Write JPG VI.

  • How to view live webcam that use windows media player and java

I am new to iphone and I have two live webcams that I like to go to and can't get either one on my iphone 3gs. www.ruidoso.net, view live webcam link and www.skiapache.com live webcam link. How can I get to them?? oram I just out of luck.

You've got to remember that, as powerful as the iPhone is, it's not a desktop computer. So certain things that have been designed for desktop computers may not work the same or at all. The owners of those websites probably never considered anyone wanting to view them on a phone.
The first webcam you can view on your iPhone by going to http://www.ruidosowebcam.com/camera0.jpg and manually refreshing the page to update the view. (The Java applet just refreshes the page, something they could easily have done in JavaScript for increased compatibility).
The second one I can't help with, as that one doesn't even work on my desktop computer, but WMV is a proprietary video format from Microsoft, which the iPhone doesn't play. You'd have to ask the website owners to use a more industry standard video format that the iPhone can play.

  • Not working of AVT stingray F146B CCD camera in Labview, but it works in NI MAX

I have CCD camera, AVT Stingray F146B. And I want to use it with the labview. The camera well works in the NI MAX. I can grab and snab some images by using NI MAX. However the camera does not work in the labview. When I run the labview program, the error message is appeared.
Error-1074360311 occures at IMAQdx Poen Camera.vi
    possible reason: Camera not found.
I think that the old version of the NI vision acquisition can be a reason. So I installed with new vision. I use now NI-IMAQ 4.7, NI-IMAQdx 4.0, NI-IMAQ I/O 2.6.
What is the problem? What shall I do for using it?
    Attached is my imaging program.

  • Baby Monitor - view live streaming video on iPhone

I am in search of a webcam (to use as a baby monitor) that I can use with my iPhone to view live streaming video from...
Can someone please recommend a webcam (ideally with a low-light setting, because babies like to sleep in the dark;) and a capable app from the app store that would help me achieve this?
    Thanks!

That is going to be a very custom app. I really doubt it will be in the app store. I understand the idea. I have a monitor myself that has video. I would have to hook up that video monitor to an input device on a computer networked in the home. For me this would entail video monitor output to a camcorder to firewire to imac. could get quite complicated. Even doing this much could encounter problems like each interface having to be set up correctly. once that is done, you might be able to use the bonjour networking to get from iphone to imac. all of this is hypothetical though. interesting scenario though

  • Princeton ccd camera control via Labview

I am trying to control a Princeton
(Roper Scientific) CCD camera using the Labview 8.5 (via the PCI board). I
imported  pvcam32.dll library in the Labview but I have some problems
using it. For example, two functions I need to use at the beginning are pl_cam_get_name
and pl_cam_open. In the header file they are described as rs_bool
    po_cam_get_name(int16 cam_num, char_ptr cam_name) and rs_bool
    pl_cam_open(char_ptr cam_name, int16_ptr hcam, init16 o_mode). First function
allows me to receive the string identifier associated with my camera. It
searches for the drivers, without checking the hardware. The second function
initializes the camera hardware. If successful, the camera sends a camera
handle to hcam. The error that I receive in Labview is C0_Cam _Name_Out_Of_RNG.
Can be that the matter is in how I define the imput parameters? I initialized an array, converted bytes to a string and connected to my input of the cal library function node that is required to be a string. May somebody
please suggest me how correctly to use the functions from the pvcam32.dll or
may be give me some example - that would be faster. I am a new guy to the
    Labview.

Don't do a posting more than once. Try to stick to the original thread here . Please wait patiently, so that somebody will surely help you.

  • CCD camera for Mac

Can anyone recommend a CCD camera for outdoor use that transmits a picture wireless to a software for Mac?

    You're most welcome.
... but I would prefer a recommendation for an actual model that is proven to work fine in Mac-environment with a reliable software to go with it or be compatible with a "default" OS X software.
Then that is what you should ask the retailer for while you are shopping.
If you do not get the recommendation you seek here, a local security consultant may be able to sell you the hardware you seek or at least suggest some sources you could consider.

  • Trigger CCD camera at certain frequency

    Hi,
We are trying to trigger a CCD camera for capturing image at certain frequency. Our hardware setting is as follow: we have NI PCI-6281 DAQ card installed on the computer. It connects to BNC-2110 box. The trigger output PFI 12/P2.4 on BNC-2110 was connected to a CCD camera through a 12-Pin Hirose female to BNC cable.
To test whether the triggered image capture works properly. We used Gen Dig Pulse.vi and Triggered Grab.vi. The triggered image capture did work, but it does not work at the desired frequency set by us. I assume the frequency is (1/(high time + low time)). Any suggestion?
    Thanks.

This answer doesn't make sense. If what you say is true, the camera isn't really synchronized with the clock.
What happens if you set the off time to a very long time like 20.2 seconds. Do you see a new image every 20.7 seconds, do you see two images captured close together then a long gap before the next 2?

I'm using iphone 4s, whenever i take a photo using front camera mirror view of the image is NOT saved. i.e, left becomes right & vice versa. To elaborate if you take a photo with your left hand index finger on your left chin it shows up as though i'm holding my right hand index finger on my right chin. This was not the case initially, i suspect this happened after photoshop app. was installled. Can someone assist?

Ok!! After checking couple of my friends phone i realise this is BY design!!.. i still don't understand the logic behind this though.Nevertheless this ain't a bug!!!
