CCMS configuration question - more than one sapccmsr agent on one server
Hello all,
this might be a newbie question, please excuse:
We have several SAP systems installed on AIX in several LPARs. SAP aplication server and SAP database is always located in different LPARs, but one LPAR can share application server of several SAP systems or databases of several SAP systems.
So I want to configure SAPOSCOL and CCMS-Agents (sapccmsr) on our databse LPARS. SAPOSCOL is running - no problem so far. Due to the circumstance that we have DBs for SAP systems with kernel 4.6d, 6.40 (nw2004), 7.00 (nw2004s) I want to use two different CCMS-Agents (Version 6.40 non-unicode to connect to SAP 4.6d and 6.40 + Version 7.00 unicode to connect to SAP 7.00).
AFAIK only one of these can use shared memory segment #99 (default) - the other one has to be configured to use another one (e.g. #98) but I don't know how (could'nt find any hints on OSS + Online Help + CCMs-Agent manual).
Any help would be appreciated
regards
Christian

Hello,
has really no one ever had this kind of problem? Do you all use either one (e.g. windows) server for one application (e.g. SAP application or database) or the same server for application and database? Or don't you use virtual hostnames (aliases) for your servers, so that in all mentioned cases one CCMS-Agent on one server would fit your requirements? I could hardly believe that!
kind regards
Christian

When I OCR two versions of the same document and then compare the documents in Acrobat Pro XI, I usually get the message that there are no changes to mark. However, I know there a quite a few number of changes. I raised this question more than a year ago, and the response I received had to do with the quality of the OCR and the scans of the documents. However, if I use Acrobat Pro XI to save the same documents in Word and then run a comparison in Word all of the changes are marked. When a PDF is saved as a Word document in Acrobat Pro XI, is a different OCR module being used than the one used in Acrobat Pro XI for text recognition?
OCR is only for recoginition of the image / picture of text provided by an scanner.
Content typed into a Word file which is converted to a PDF is (in Word and in PDF) *not* an image or picture of text - it is the digital text. So, no OCR involved.
When the "digital" (renderable) text of a PDF's page content is exported to Word no OCR is involved.
When a PDF's content is from the image output of a scanner and this is a picture of text then OCR comes into play.
If this content is exported to Word before doing OCR then it is the image that is exported to the Word file.
Once OCR is performed it is the OCR output that is exported.
OCR output is (always will be) impacted by "the quality of the OCR and the scans of the documents".
Regardless "Compare" is based on a Word file output to PDF1 then edits to the Word file followed by an output to PDF2. You use Acrobat Pro to do a compare of PDF1 & PDF2.
Paper 1 scanned to image 1 to image 1 in PDF1 that gets OCR 1 and
Paper 2 scanned to image 2 to image 2 in PDF2 that gets OCR 2
being processed with Acrobat Pro's Compare can certainly be done.
But - well you've described what can be observed.

SAPCCMSR agent running in server with several DB Services
Hi!
We have several Solaris clusters with 2 ORACLE and SAP instances.
I've tried to install sapccmsr agent for DB instances, but I can only
have one at a time. Otherwise it gives the following message:
"INFO: Reconnected to Monitoring Segment [SAP_CCMS_XXXXXXXX_dbi], size
[40141728], started at Mon Oct 13 16:18:03 2008
ERROR: Monitoring segment belongs to system K02
CCMS Agent SAPCCMSR may only be run for segments
that belong to central system L02
Therefore exiting....
In this cluster I have P02 (SAP R/3 4.7 NUC) and X02 systems (SAP XI 3.0UC).
I tried to register only one sapccmsr agent but not attached to the
virtual DB hostname. But this brings a new problem, I cannot monitor DB
service because the agent is attached to physical host.
In another cluster we have different SAP Basis versions, SAP nw2004(nuc) and nw2004s (uc).
Regards,
Fernando FigueiredoFor one of our clusters running 2 oracle intances on node1 and SAP on node2, I've created a specific profile with a virtual hostname(<VIRTUAL SAPCCMSR>), and during registration I've included both systems plus Solution Manager. Then on each system I've changed the program ID of SAPCCMS.<VIRTUAL DB HOSTNAME>.99 to <VIRTUAL SAPCCMSR>.sapccmsr.99.
You can use sap note 536954 as reference, but not as a solution.
Anyway you still have the problem because you need to manage this manually and is node specific. If you want to change your cluster behavior then you have problems.
Regarding the other cluster running different versions that is not an issue because ORACLE and SAP are crossed between nodes. On that cluster I've implemented SAPCCMSR clustered aware, but if one node fails you cannot monitor both systems. You can also use note 536954 as a reference.
Anyway... SAPCCMSR monitoring for Standalone database is very limited.

More than Non-cumulative cubes in one MultiProvider
Hi There,
I have got two non cumulative cubes and want to build a MultiProvider on them.
Got information at couple of places on help.sap.com at one place it says MultiProvider can have more than one non-cumulative cubes at other place it says it can't. What is the right suggestion?
Thanks
VikashHi,
From the performance perspective you should not use more than one Non Cumulative Infocube in a Multi Provider. If you user more than one the query will not execute parallel and execute in sequential which leads to delay in query run time.
This is a recommendation from SAP not to use morethan one Non Cumulative Cubes in a MP.

For years I have sent an email to all teams in my cricket club by simply adding each separate group list to the 'cc' or 'bcc' list and pressing send, thus sending the same mail to 100+ people simultaneously, no problem. Suddenly the system says I am trying to send it to 'too many recipients'. I even had to split some of the group lists in to two separate group lists because it seems that the maximum number of people I can send one email to is now about 20 people. This is a problem especially that sometimes players would comment on the email and wish to include everybody in the club, so would use the 'reply all' function. Now they can only reply to those on the same email list as them, which sometimes isn't even all of their own team...
Club leaders are on more than one of the team lists, so some people now have to receive the same email in their inbox up to 5 times due to this problem.
There were no changes at all made to anything else with my system: same server, same computer, same emails, same everything. It just happened one day to the next.Any limit is imposed by whatever SMTP server you use. So talk to your email provider.
With that number of recipients it would probably be a good idea to look for a mailing list service.

Getting the configuration of more than one material
Hi Fox,
I need to fetch configuration for some materials found in MARC like the characteristic "Size" or "Color".
I use the function 'VC_I_GET_CONFIGURATION' and it works ok when you have one two or 10 materials. However if you have 512000 material it would take verrrrrrrrrry long time. I wonder if anybody know how to read mass data for configuration or anybody knows the step to setup the "select statements" to fetch the configuration very fast.
Thanks for you comments
KamiYou need to use VC_I_GET_CONFIGURATION FM and schedule the job in background...

Configurator on more than one computer
HI All,
Im introducing iPads into mys schools. I just used my laptop to install all of the 4 schools ipads using configurator. How can I get my configurator from my laptop to be copied onto the teachers comptuers at the 4 schools?
Thanks.If you've supervised the devices you can't
If you have a number of iOS devices you might be better of using an mdm solution
You can lock wipe and erase remotely push settings to the devices without having to touch them
As long as the device is able to connect to the Internet -
Can I use the same Mail configuration on more than one mac?
I have many (15+) email accounts. I'd like to duplicate the accounts and signatures that I use on my desktop computer onto my laptop. Is this possible? What files do I copy?
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Copy the selected item to the other Mac.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return. -

Can i sync more than 1 ipod touch with one itunes account?
I have two ipod touches, one for each of my kids, and i would like to know if i can use one itunes account for both of their ipods. Do I need 1 account per device? Also, as they don't have an email account, do i need to create an email account for the itunes account to work?
mate, just use one account for both, and create a playlist each, so that they have the songs that they specifically want, or they could probably both just have all of the music, it doesnt take much space up. And yeah, just have one E-mail account for the one itunes account, you could probably just use yours, or if not, your going to have to create another one. My whole family uses the one acoount, and it doesnt bother us, it also doesnt send me any emails, so its fine to use my account

ok, while you are on a site, right click and you choose to open something in a new tab. I like to have several tabs open, but on top of the window, firefox shows me only up to ten tabs, no matter if I have 20 tabs open and I have to press the right arrow, to see the rest of them. I would love to have that area doubled up and be able to watch all my tabs (sites) and simply with one click to move to that site. I am not sure if I gave you a clear view for what I wanna do. If not, please let me know. Thanks
There might be an add-on that can do what you require.<BR>

Why I can't switch on more than three add-ons in one time?
One day when I lanched Firefox, I saw that some add-ons are diseabled. I tried to enable it, but after Firefox restart it's still as it was. Please help!
It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end of the Search bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.
You can check for problems with preferences.
Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.
