CCMS/SAPControl Question

Howdy !
This will most likely be a question, that will be answered with RTFM, but ... I cannot find the manual pointing me the right way!
So here my question :
I am issuing the command : sapcontrol -host hostabc -nr XY -function GetAlertTree | grep -i "Average Response"
Our prd systems gives me :
"Average response time, 2731, GREEN, 1803 , 2010 11 29 14:00:23, , OPERATOR, GREEN, , , MTSYSID=ABC;MTMCNAME=ABC XY Serv ######### hostabc;MTNUMRANGE=005;MTUID=0000000308;MTCLASS=100;MTINDEX=0000000312;EXTINDEX=0000000179;"
While the dev and qas systems return nothing. This is for sure a configuration problem. But I cannot find the place to fix it and have tried too many things ...
All binaries/patchlevels are the same. As far as I can tell RZ20 and RZ21 look alike. There's got to be a difference, I just can't find ...
So could somebody please, please enlighten me ... ?
YOS, Markus

Hi Sunil !
Of course I am NOT sure. But how do I check or get it there ?

  • CCMS configuration question - more than one sapccmsr agent on one server

    Hello all,
this might be a newbie question, please excuse:
We have several SAP systems installed on AIX in several LPARs. SAP aplication server and SAP database is always located in different LPARs, but one LPAR can share application server of several SAP systems or databases of several SAP systems.
So I want to configure SAPOSCOL and CCMS-Agents (sapccmsr) on our databse LPARS. SAPOSCOL is running - no problem so far. Due to the circumstance that we have DBs for SAP systems with kernel 4.6d, 6.40 (nw2004), 7.00 (nw2004s) I want to use two different CCMS-Agents (Version 6.40 non-unicode to connect to SAP 4.6d and 6.40 + Version 7.00 unicode to connect to SAP 7.00).
AFAIK only one of these can use shared memory segment #99 (default) - the other one has to be configured to use another one (e.g. #98) but I don't know how (could'nt find any hints on OSS + Online Help + CCMs-Agent manual).
    Any help would be appreciated
    regards
    Christian

    Hello,
has really no one ever had this kind of problem? Do you all use either one (e.g. windows) server for one application (e.g. SAP application or database) or the same server for application and database? Or don't you use virtual hostnames (aliases) for your servers, so that in all mentioned cases one CCMS-Agent on one server would fit your requirements? I could hardly believe that!
    kind regards

  • CCM General Questions ;-)

    Good morning small-but-talented community =)
I have 3 questions for all of you:
The need: I need to upload several items to CCM, none of them should be linked to any vendor.  I need to create a taxonomy (structure) in order to "navigate and find" the items and I need to create some views to restrict what certain users can see.
    And the questions are:
    1. What are the steps that I should follow to upload items without any vendor linked ?  is this a procurement catalog ?
    2. If yes (previous questions), which catalog should I publish ?  the master catalog or the procurement catalog ?
    3. How or where can I create a taxonomy for my items ?
    5. The view issue is well dominated
Thanks a lot for your help !!!!
    Regards from Mexico city :o)
    Diego

    Hi,
Lol Diego, you're becoming an SDN addicted...
As German say: <i>"Patience is a bitter plant, but it has a sweet fruit.  "</i>
1- to be abble to load items without vendor, upload the content directly in the Master Catalog (I thought I'd told U in another thread, didn't I)
2- It is your choice: procurement catalogs allow you to separate contents (additionnaly to view definition that can be sufficient).
3- What you call Taxonomy, is the catalog Schema. For that you can either upload XML files (but you need XI for that), or manage manually the catalog schema in the CAT interface of your catalog (Master and/or procurement catalogs). There is only one valid schema at a time for a catalog, if you need several different taxonomies , you can choose to use procurement catalog with different schema for each (be careful, you then will have to manage manually the mapping between the Master Catalog schema, and each of these schemas).
4- Oh there is no point 4 ....
5- Is that a question ? If so, the view management in CCM 1.0 is not useable, in CCM 2.0 it is now possible to mange "dynamic" view assignement.
Hope it helps, and <i>"sorry for the delay..."</i>
    Regards.

  • BOE XI 3.1 and CE9 on same server

    Hi,
During a migration from Crystal Enterprise 9 to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 I will be installing XI 3.1 on the same server as CE9 prior to importing the data. During a test run I found that they seem to use the same ports and as a result the second installation (BOE XI 3.1) is unusable. I was surprised that the install wizard didn't pick this up. When I say unusable, I was unable to connect to the CmcApp and was unable to access the Server Configuration from within the CCM.
Question: Is this a known issue and is there a known work around?
I've searched the SAP Support area and this forum but have so far been unsuccessful in identifying similar postings. I am currently uninstalling BOE XI 3.1 so I can reinstall using different port numbers.
    Thanks,
    Mike

The reinstall using different ports resolved the issue, but it also left CE9 in an unusable state. Apparently I need to find a document named "Crystal Enterprise: Troubleshooting a Communication Error" as this talks me through the problems. I found it the other day, but I can't find it now.
Anyway, the solution was to ensure that when installing BOE XI 3.1 that you select different port numbers to those set by default to avoid conflict with previous installations.

  • Migration between two environments which can't communicate with each other

My customer is intending to do migration from test environment to production environment using CCM.
But the two environments are not in the same network.
The environments' setting is as blew.
BO TEST Repository can communicate with Web BO Server.
BO PRODUCTION Repository (Cluster environment) can communicate with Web BO Server.
BO TEST Repository and BO PRODUCTION Repository (Cluster environment) are in the different network, they can't communicate with each other.
Setting Target Repository manually in CCM.
    Questions are:
    1. In CCM, as long as both Source Repository and Target Repository can communicate with Web BO Server, the migration will be successful.
       Is that right?
    2. If 1 is not right, is there additional setting should I do?
For example, If I need to open some firewall port?
    3. Is there other attentions should I notice?
    Thanks

    Questions are:

    Yes that is correct
    2. If 1 is not right, is there additional setting should I do?
For example, If I need to open some firewall port?
You have another option which is to use the BIAR files. Export your objects to a BIAR file in source environment, and import them from BIAR into the target environment
    3. Is there other attentions should I notice?
when using BIAR files as solution, Make sure that you keep them < 1GB size to avoid corruption
you may have to increase or adjust timeouts on input and output repository servers as well

  • CCMS Question

    Hello,
We use CCMS to monitor our PI environment to manage alerts and to send alert notifications.  We would like to implement a custom notification logic in workflow to meet one of our alert requirements.  My question is once alert is raised, can CCMS trigger a workflow?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jay

    Hi Jung,
I think its possible to trigger workflow from CCMS.
The  Forwarding Alerts to Alert Management (ALM)  topic  in Triggering from CCMS with autoreaction has some information regarding that hope this this is uesful.

  • CS6 and EDGE : the SUITE question (originally posted in CCM forum)

sorry I copy paste from CCM forum as the question ir related (?) to both subjects, and I may have better answers here or there
Alright, sorry I posted a quesiton this morning and found the answer, i have to have CS6 to use lateste Edge Animate.
What bugs me is that here it says (document created in May but updated lately it seems)
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/enhancing- your-dps-folios-with-edge-animations.html
    it also takes
"Adobe Digital Publishing Suite Professional or Enterprise account"
    Do you confirm ?
If taht is, it's really painful, we can't afford it fdor now...
We sold a project with previous version made under CS5.5 and Edge Preview (we could use Egde stuff by then) so we're a little bit trapped.
Do you confirm it takes a paying suite to be able to use EDGE ANIMATE in CS6 ?
If we pay for the CCM soon (we think about it) will we have to pay both then ? CCM and the PROFESSIONAL EDITION ?
    thanx for the answer

If you have CC you get Edge and you are free to use it any DPS work you do, including Single Edition.

  • CCM 2.0 Questions

    Hi all,
some open questions for CCM 2.0 I didn't find any answer for yet. Hope you all can help!
    - how is the CCM catalog consulted - directly to CCM or through SRM?
    - which protocol is used? (XML with XI?)
    - are there special requirements for IE and SAPGUI?
    tnx for your help!
    Cheers,
    RoB

    Hi,
    1. You need to do shopping cart creation thru SRM via Catalog link. Cataolg to be maintained in user attribue
    2. On XI  - In case of Standalone deployment scenario you may have SRM(EBP) , CCM , CSE and CAT in one single deployment.
In this deployment use of XI is optional.
    XI is mandatory for:
    - all XML load files upload
    - Product/contract/IR extraction from SRM & R/3
    - publication in case of distributed deployment
For more details go to following site:
    https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/ibc-srm
Path>Integrated Business Content>......mySAP SRM> Catalog and Content mnagement> Business Scenario Configuration Guide
    3. IE should be 5.5 + and SAP GUI should be 640 on relevent SP level follow installation guide.

  • CCM 2.0 edit catalog question

    Hello group,
We have several catalogs in SRM but now want to start using CCM and a master catalog. I've configured everything with the configuration fact book CCM 2.0. And can start editing the master catalog. But now I'm lost. I would like to have just one item in the catalog. Have read that you should upload schema's, but I don't know how to make csv's for that. I've made a schema and a catagory, and can assign new made fields to them, but I don't want to make a mapping from nothing. Now I also cannot get rid of the schema and try something else.
Does anyone have a helpfull link or can anyone tell me what to do?

  • Architectural question for CCM failover WAN best practices

I have a client that has a large CCM cluster in Texas. Approx 2000 phones register here over the wan from branch offices, HQ, etc. In Milwaukee, there is a call center that is going to go in for about 200 agents 24/7 operations. We are looking at the architecture of this design and are wondering if it would be wise to setup another cluster in Milwaukee just for the Call Center, then use Intercluster trunking between the two clusters.
Or, could we just place a (2)subscribers at the Milwaukee location for a DR between the two sites? (Texas and Milwaukee).
The WAN backbone is MPLS, so we could configure multiple T's back to the data center, etc. The problem we see is if what the Texax CCM cluster falls down... what happens then? Will the CallCenter be able to function?
Any good advice, simple is better.
    Thanks much!

What type of callcenter is it? IPCC Enterprise or Express?

  • Question on CCM catalog content approval

    Hi,
Can somebody tell me what kind of update to catalog content needs approval? My understanding was that if there is a price change, definately it will need to be approved. But yesterday my catalog manager uploaded some change to his catalog item price, and when checking the items in my procurement catalog, we can see the price has changed, but the status is still 'approved'.
Is my understanding wrong? How can I define what kind of update requires approval?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Elly

    Hi Elly,
Firstly - can you check in customizing if the catalog is maintained with the status 'Approved'.
i.e. SPRO -> Cross App Components -> SAP CCM -> SAP Catalog Authoring Tool -> Specify default value for catalog status.
Here the catalog will either be set to Approved or To be approved initially.
After this, you can define approvals on characteristic level, drill into a characteristic component and you can set a percentage or absolute deviation which will based on these rules set items with this characteristic either to be approved or approved.
Alternatively you can make use of the CCM Approval Badi, You can use this BAdI to change the approval status of your catalog entries (items).
Normally, the approval status of catalog entries is determined by approval rules, which are stored for a characteristic. You can use this BAdI to get the status information of the catalog entries after the rules have been processed, and to change this status information as appropriate.
    Regards,
    Jason

  • Question about CCM Catalog Content Approval

    Hi,
We are using CCM2.0 in our company for catalog management. I have defined various procurement catalogs and different views for each procurement catalog. I know the view can control what end users see in catalog search engine.
But is there also a way to control what catalog approver can see in CCM? If I assign a user as approver for the procurement catalog, looks like he/she can see all items in this procurement catalog...
    Thanks a lot,
    Elly

    Hi,
I don't assign items to my views automatically. But after items are approved, I'll go into the views and run corresponding rules to assign items.
    Regards,
    Elly
