Cell phone in my car speakers works fine from my iphone4 but music does not work on the speakers. What settings do I have wrong?
The speakers in my car work great over iphone4s for telephone calls but the car doesn't seem to recognize music on the same iphone. What setting should I check?
It seems that if the bluetooth works well (pairs) with the car for the telephone, the music would also work. It did work well before the upgrade to 7.4. Perhaps I need to start over with setting up the bluetooth system in the car ?

My iphone 4 does not register calls made to it. if i make a call from another phone, i can hear it ringing, but it does not register on the iphone. also, i do not get any messages when this happens. then after a day or two it decides to start working.
Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if better. If still problem clean charging port again with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.

I just purchase an IPhone5C to upgrade from my IPhone4, but I do not know how to get all of my photos that were on ICloud on my Photo Stream (875 photos), on to my new phone. I thought that since my 5C can see Icloud that all photos would be there... Can someone help me get the pics from my Iphone4 to the 5C?
Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there (subject to a 1,000 photo limit) until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device. -
I tried to respond to several of you that have posted about this but the site will not let me respond. I am also having issues with hotmail email since about 5:30pm today. I can not connect to the server and no emails will load on my phone but I have no issues getting them on my computer. My husband is having no issues, he uses AT7T and I
That is a hotmail issue, since you can't connect to their server contact Microsoft to resolve the issue

Hey Guys,
So my phone was my snorkeling buddy last week for a few minutes... I wasn't out in the water for longer than like 5ish minutes. It is a Verizon 32gb iPhone 4. I've had a few problems with it before as the previous owner dropped it in some water which has not only fried both the wifi and bluetooth, but also caused the home button to work sporadically and the LED flash to stay on like a 1/3 of its power 24/7 even if the phone dies...
Anyways,
about half an hour later of discovering 4 ft of water the phone was stuck in white rice (had to go on a rice hunt) and dried for several hours before I soaked and drowned it again in fresh water to try to get the salt out... One omen that I saw was that the eternal flashlight was finally, off.. after this, I stuck it back in rice for another day and a half and then stuck it on my ihome... the apple icon flickered and then went away. I plugged it in a few more times and finally got to the lock screen and started to hear txts and alerts come in. however, the screen was unresponsive and i couldn't unlock it. not sure if it was just me but each time i plugged it in to try to get to the lock screen, the screen itself went from ok condition to having dark streaks diagonally across the screen. After this I stuck it back in the bag of rice before finishing off by letting it sit in the hot desert sun for a few hours..
Several days after this the phone was taken apart and there appeared to be little to no moisture. however, there was some rust. a newer battery was popped in and the phone itself was able to receive txts and calls (you can call it and swipe the bottom of the black screen to answer and talk through it).
is there anything i can do to fix the black screen or am I doomed to get another phone and loose all my pics and videos?????????? as i haven't backed up the media...
ThanksApple won't touch it. It was opened by an unauthorized party. It is not eligible for an out of warranty replacement. Your only option is to buy a new phone.
Apple does not sell iPhone parts at all. If you want to take your chances with a 3rd party repair service or try to fix it yourself, the only parts available are counterfeit parts, stolen parts, or salvaged parts. -
I have changed my apple password online from my computer but it does not work on my phone.
I had forgotten my apple ID password so I tried to change it and it was not working. I went online and changed it and it works to get into the Manage my account part of the apple site but when I try to download an app the phone tells me that the password is incorrect. what is the deal?
Have you synced your phone to your computer since changing the password? If not, give that a try as it could just need a little help to make it right on your phone.

The sign in page for yahoo mail wants to set cookies. I get a dialog box that asks to set a second cookie but it is unresponsive, eitehr to check allow or close it. Going to task manage says the site is waiting for input from me but I cannot get the browser to respond in any manner whatsoever.
All other tabs work fine and the yahoo site can be opened with IE fine.Set up to "Ask me every time" in the Privacy elections. I think I found the problem. Looks like there were two dialog boxes, the second right on top of the first so I could not check the first one so it never got the OK and kept waiting for input.
Seems OK now. -
I have tried 4 days to get iTunes 10.4 working on my Win7 x64 machine. I purchased a new iPhone4 and after syncing it the first time, I can't connect to the iTunes store.
When I try to run iTunes Help, I get this message "iTunes Help is unavailable because your computer isn’t connected to the Internet." However IE9 and Google Chrome run as always...... no connection problems.
I have already uninstalled IE9 x64 and iTunes 10.4 x64 and reinstalled but still the same. I followed all the instructions I could find about firewalls, ports, SSL etc.
Diagnostice gives me this information:

I can't upgrade from 3.1 to 3.2 Bootcamp, despite multiple attempts to download. it seems to download but the upgrade does not install and I don't know where to look to make it install. Any suggestions?
You are in Windows; you already have inserted your OS X DVD and run SETUP and installled Boot Camp 3.0.x (shows in Windows control panel: Programs and Features.
Start => Apple Software Update (also in Windows) will download and install updates as well. -
I have trying to connect my iTunes music through my bluetooth in my Kia Sorento. I have paired the phone with the bluetooth, but now the phone will not even connect, let along having the music play through. Do I need a special app for that? Was something dropped or lost from my iPhone to where no connection, phone or music, will play through the bluetooth to the speakers in the car?
It should work just fine. Try deleting the pairing in the car and on the phone, then re-pair them. It works fine in my 2011 Optima (with the non-nav system) after upgrading to iOS 5.
Make sure there is no other bluetooth connection active when you start the car to connect to it (like a headset). -
help
I just recently had this problem and I don't know if it will work for you but what I did was plug my iPhone up to my computer, start iTunes, go into my iPhone on iTunes, go into my music, select all my songs, right click, and select New Playlist From Selection. This created a Playlist 1 and it automatically retrieved the songs from my iTunes to create the playlist songs. I then deleted the playlist and now all my songs play fine. (If any still don't play after the first playlist, create a second one made up of the songs that didn't sync.) Hope this helped.

Connection works but program does not continue in the code ?
Hello,
I have a client, a server and a data class implementing Serializable interface.
Both classes communicate via sockets.
Between the sockets I transfer objects from the type of the data class.
The client and the server are running each in a Thread.
First the server is started then pressing a certain button in the GUI the client is started.
1. Why is the code in the clients Thread never going beyond this code line: System.out.println("test"); ???
2. Why is the file satz.dat not written ?
This is the part code of all 3 classes which is making me trouble:
Client code:
public class ClientThread extends Thread
ClientThread()
public void run()
try
InetAddress ip = InetAddress.getByName("localhost");
Socket socket = new Socket(ip , ServerThread.PORT);
System.out.println("test");
ObjectInputStream incomingObject = new ObjectInputStream(socket.getInputStream());
ObjectOutputStream outgoingObject = new ObjectOutputStream(socket.getOutputStream());
outgoingObject.writeObject(serializeObjekt(meineBuchdaten)); // serialize the object "meineBuchdaten"
incomingObject.close();
outgoingObject.close();
socket.close();
catch (Exception e)
e.printStackTrace();
Method to serialize the string data of the data class called Buchdaten class:
public Object serializeObjekt(Object objekt) throws IOException
ObjectOutputStream oos = new ObjectOutputStream(new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream("d:/satz.dat")));
oos.writeObject(objekt);
oos.flush();
oos.close();
return oos;
server class:
public class ServerThread extends Thread
public static final int PORT = 8080;
private ServerSocket myServerSocket = null;
private Socket myClientSocket;
private Database myDatabase = new Database();
public ServerThread()
public void run()
try
myServerSocket = new ServerSocket(PORT);
catch (IOException e)
e.printStackTrace();
System.out.println("Started: " + myServerSocket);
try
while(true)
// Warten until the client connects...
myClientSocket = myServerSocket.accept();
System.out.println("Connection done - handshake " + myClientSocket);
ObjectInputStream incomingObject = new ObjectInputStream(myClientSocket.getInputStream());
ObjectOutputStream outgoingObject = new ObjectOutputStream(myClientSocket.getOutputStream());
Buchdaten bd = (Buchdaten) incomingObject.readObject();
System.out.println("This should be the deserialized data: " + bd);
myClientSocket.close();
catch(Exception ex)
System.out.println(ex.getMessage());
data class:
public class Buchdaten implements Serializable
private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
private String autor;
private String titel;
private String jahr;
private String verlag;
private int number;
private int id;
public Buchdaten()
public void setDataToArray(String autor, String titel, String jahr, String verlag , int number)
this.autor = autor;
this.titel = titel;
this.jahr = jahr;
this.verlag = verlag;
this.number = number;
public void setDataToArray(int number , int id)
this.number = number;
this.id = id;
public void setDataToArray(String autor, String titel, String jahr, String verlag , int number , int id)
this.autor = autor;
this.titel = titel;
this.jahr = jahr;
this.verlag = verlag;
this.number = number;
this.id = id;

Oh, and by the way, is there a reason you aren't just using normal java RMI?
Edited by: jtahlborn on Feb 1, 2008 9:34 PMOh, and by the way, is there a reason you aren't just using normal java RMI?
yes for now i have to do it this way. The app must only run on my home pc but later i have to do it with RMI, but first it must work with sockets and streams etc stupd i know... ;-)
sabre150: quote:"As with all two way communication, one thread should be used for writing and another for reading. This ways the blocking nature of the streams works for and not against."
0: Does that mean i have to open 4 threads ? 2 threads for the client class and 2 threads for the server class? each one has an ObjectInput/Output - stream right?
For now i have only opened the outputstream on client side and the inputstream on server side to see wether it works at all. Furthermore my object is now serialized to the satz.dat file and it works.
1. Is there a way to serialize my data "meineBuchdaten" on-the-fly without writing it into a file on harddisk?
2. I want to print out the deserialized data but it doesnt work i get no output using the system.out.println method?
3. After this output: Connection done - handshake Socket[addr=/127.0.0.1,port=3139,localport=10001] I get this output: null
why null? from where does this null come?
Edit: ok my debugger work now again i reinstalled eclipse... debugging the cast into "meineBuchdaten" is the problem because right after this the debugger jumps into an exception this one
catch(Exception ex)
System.out.println(ex.getMessage());
}Edit: I have changed again the code a bit only this:
// Output of the deserialized data for test purposes
System.out.println("This should be the deserialized data: Autor: " + bd.getAutor());
its accessing the autor attribute variable of the bd object in a proper way but still the bd object is null i guess the problem is my serialized data on the client side is not transported what do i wrong can someone pls help me please ?
changed code:
client class:
public class ClientThread extends Thread
ClientThread()
public void run()
try
InetAddress ip = InetAddress.getByName("localhost");
Socket socket = new Socket(ip , ServerThread.PORT);
System.out.println("test");
// ObjectOutputStream for the object to be sent over socket to the server
ObjectOutputStream outgoingObject = new ObjectOutputStream(socket.getOutputStream());
// writing the class object "meineBuchdaten" into a file on the hard disk
try
ObjectOutputStream oos = new ObjectOutputStream(new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream("d:/satz.dat")));
oos.writeObject(meineBuchdaten);
oos.flush();
oos.close();
catch (NotSerializableException nse)
System.out.println("No Serialization of the class " + nse.getLocalizedMessage() + " is possible");
catch(IOException ioe)
System.out.println(ioe.getMessage());
// closing the ObjectOutputStream and the client connection to free resources
outgoingObject.close();
socket.close();
catch (Exception e)
e.printStackTrace();
server class:
public class ServerThread extends Thread
public static final int PORT = 10001;
private ServerSocket myServerSocket = null;
private Socket myClientSocket;
private Database myDatabase = new Database();
public ServerThread()
public void run()
try
myServerSocket = new ServerSocket(PORT);
catch (IOException e)
e.printStackTrace();
System.out.println("Started: " + myServerSocket);
try
while(true)
// wait until the client connects...
myClientSocket = myServerSocket.accept();
System.out.println("Connection done - handshake " + myClientSocket);
ObjectInputStream incomingObject = new ObjectInputStream(myClientSocket.getInputStream());
// Reading the serialized data and cast it to the proper type
Buchdaten bd = (Buchdaten) incomingObject.readObject();
// Output of the deserialized data for test purposes
System.out.println("This should be the deserialized data: " + bd);
// closing the ObjectInputStream and the client connection to free resources
incomingObject.close();
myClientSocket.close();
catch(Exception ex)
System.out.println(ex.getMessage());

does any one know why my phone is doing this
Seems you have accidentally turned on VoiceOver. The process of turning it off is rather convoluted once it has been activated. Look in the Manual under Chapter 32: Accessability ....VoiceOver:

I synced my iPhone yet all my music does not make onto the phone. Why?
I have synced my iPhone yet it seems that only music that I have downloaded recently makes it onto my iPhone. I removed all the music off my phone to download the new IOS, and then resynced it to put the whole library on the phone. It shows it is available when I have Wi-fi. Is there an iCloud setting that I am missing?
It shouldn't. If you haven't already tried, try closing the music app from the recently used app list (double-tap the home button, locate and swipe up on music, tap the home button again), reset your phone (hold the sleep/wake and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release), then sync the music to your phone again and see if it "sticks" this time.

help!!!!
When normally powering the phone, there would not be a loading bar, you would just see the Apple logo. You can try a reset of the phone, hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot.
You can take the phone to Apple, by making an appointment at the Genius Bar to have the hardware checked. Apple handles warranty and post-warranty issues, not Verizon. Have Apple look at the hardware to see if there are any problems.
