Cell References Changed when saving? (SFTGlobalID_)

I'm using IF( formulas to create an inventory control database. On a list of raw food materials, a "unit count" cell references a production schedule (PS) for 20 or so different recipes made on seperate sheets. The production schedule for each item is a 1, 2, 3 , or 4 (for batch size). The TRUE part of the formula references a value for each ingredient on each recipe and the FALSE returns nothing. Here's an example:
IF(PS :: B2=1,Recipe :: B4,)+IF(PS :: B2=2,Recipe :: B4*2,)+IF(PS :: B2=3,Recipe :: B4*3,)+IF(PS :: B2=4,Recipe :: B4*4,).....etc. for each ingredient on the recipe. (False only needs to return a zero value, as a summation of each value is built in)
I'm sure this isn't the most efficient way to do this but but it works great. However, I made it about 70% of the way through and one of my longer formulas changed all it's cell references to "SFTGlobalID_6C93D7876E0345C39D25C499A3FD1D04" after saving. I have no idea if the formula still works because now I'm over the max charcter limit for a cell.
I tried re-entering the formula with no luck and all of the other formulas work perfectly.
I believe I can work around this by splitting the workload to 2 or more cells, so it isn't necessarily detrimental to the success of the program.
I'm mainly curious as to WHY this happened. I was no where near the character limit before saving.
I've checked other discussions and answers seem to only offer shorter solutions to formulas, and not a reason for the change to begin with.
Does anyone have any idea what the cause of this could be? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
NOTE: I'm not at all opposed to a different approach but my curiosity is getting the best of me here.
Thanks in advance!!

Jerry,
Thanks again. I noticed that Choose seemed sort of limited when looking into it, though still useful.
Right now I'm looking for a way to calculate batch size already given the amount of a prep item I need.
For example:
We use a red sauce in our meals. The inventory will tell me how many quarts I need for the week, and I need it to calculate how many batches are needed and send the amount of ingredients needed for that sauce back to the inventory. One batch is 6.5 qts.
If I need 28 qts of Red Sauce for the week, I need the program to put a 5 in the batch size cell (32.5 qt. yield - we don't make partial batches of anything, so I can't simply use division ). Then I'll just multiply the batch size cell times each ingredient used for a single batch to get the total. Any ideas?
I was thinking more IF( functions with inequalities but I'm guessing there is a better way.

  • How do I make the column portion of a relative cell reference change based on a separate cell

I have a relative cell reference K8  in a formula (k8/c8) and I want to obtain the column portion (K) of this relative cell reference from another cell at the top of the column this formula is in. This will make it very easy for me to change many formulas
all at once simply by changing the contents of the header cell to reflect the column that I want to reference in the original formula. For instance the other cell may contain the letter M which would then change all of the formulas to m8/c8.
I know I can change on cell and copy the formula to the other cells but then I have to do a copy and format paste to get all of my unique formatting back. The original formula frequently change with respect to the columns being measured.
Thank you...even if I can't get there from here.

Let's say that cell A1 contains the letter K, and that your formula is in a cell in row 8. You can change the formula to
    =INDIRECT($A$1 & ROW()) / INDIRECT("C" & ROW())
This formula can be filled down (or up).

  • Color changes when saving

I have a PSD file that I've been working on. I've tried saving it as jpeg, png, and tiff, and every time it makes the colors more saturated and more red. I've tried opening it in Windows Photo Viewer, Firefox, and Chrome and the color is changed in all of them. Oddly enough however, if I open the photo on my iphone, in Windows Paint, or in Photoshop again, the colors remain unchanged.
Color Profile is sRGB and I have it set to embed the profile.
The proof setup is Working CMYK. I tried changing it to Monitor RGB and the picture looked the same.
Any help is greatly appreciated because this is driving me insane.

Thanks for the help twenty one and Noel but I think I need to be a little bit more clear on what it is I would like to accomplish. Basically I have a photo that displays two different ways: normal saturation and oversaturated. I would like it to always display at normal saturation, no matter what computer or what program it's being viewed with. Currently the only programs I've found that always display it correctly are Windows Paint and Internet explorer, neither of which are color managed. Is there any way to accomplish this or do I just have to accept the fact that it will always look different depending on what it's being viewed with?
Information I think may be relevant to accomplishing this goal:
The PSD always appears oversaturated in photoshop now whereas it used to look fine. I have no idea what I did to change this but I've tried doing a system restore and resetting my photoshop settings to default and it has had no effect.
Under Color Settings, it shows the RGB working space as sRGB IEC61966-2.1. However the info panel shows the PSD as being untagged RGB. The image mode is RGB color.
I've messed around with assigning new color profiles and nothing works. The only thing that makes photo look normal again is turning on proof and setting it to Monitor RGB.
I tried saving two different jpeg files, one where I checked ICC Profile sRGB IEC61966-2.1 in the save as dialogue box and one where I did not. Upon opening both files in photoshop, the file that had the sRGB box checked shows up as being sRGB in the info panel and the file that did not have the box checked shows up as untagged RGB in the info panel, as one would expect.
Both the untagged RGB and the sRGB show up the way I want them to in Windows Paint and Internet Explorer (normal saturation), neither of which are color managed programs.
Using Firefox (color managed), the untagged RGB shows up correctly and the sRGB file is oversaturated.
Using photoshop and Windows Photo Viewer (color managed), both the tagged and the untagged photos are oversaturated.
It should also be noted that the above results hold true on my computer and a second computer that I tested. However, on two other computers that I tested, both the tagged and the untagged photos appear correctly using Windows Photo Viewer, Paint, Firefox, and Internet Explorer. Based off of what I've read about Color Management I find these results very peculiar. Particularly the fact that sRGB and untagged RGB files show up differently on Firefox but the same on Windows Photo Viewer since both programs are color managed. I also find it very odd that after years of using photoshop without any knowledge of color management I've never had a problem with it until now.
Again, I would like the photo to always look the way it does when using Paint or Internet Explorer or when saving it as an untagged RGB and viewing it on Firefox. Thanks again for any help you can provide because this is driving me insane.

  • Color Changes when saving psd to jpg

Some of my psd when saved to jpg take on a distinctly bluish cast. Has anyone seen this? What is the cause? How can it be defeated?

When You save a jpg with profile embedded does the appearance still change?
Photoshop uses the Color Settings’ Working Space for displaying files that are not Color Managed, therefore one should embed the profile – unless space considerations (especially for internet-use) speak against it, in which case one should usually convert the image to srgb anyway.

  • RGB Colours change when saving for Web

I'm saving work in RGB for Web, but the colours come out muted when saving through "Save for Web" also when saving as normal. Does anyone know why this happens? Normally this occurs through RGB to CMYK conversion, but can't figure out why it's happening, they look fine on screen before saving, but look all muted when saved.
    Cheers

Two things: you could be working in Adobe RGB and saving directly to JPG, without converting to sRGB first. When the sRGB profile is assumed (Windows), or your narrow-gamut display profile is assumed (Mac), you get a color shift. So make sure you converting to sRGB as or before you save the JPG. Also, if you're on a Mac, then the display profile is assumed or assigned to images from the web. If you're using a laptop, the display gamut is much narrower than even sRGB, so you will see a color shift. The way around this is to use a browser capable of assigning sRGB to untagged images (like Firefox with color management enabled).
You can always embed sRGB profiles in your images, which would be fine for portfolio pieces, but impractical for smaller images. Embedding a color profile will ensure that Safari displays the images correctly.

  • Strange size change when saving ai file as jpeg

    Greetings all!
I have a quick question (I believe!). I have a couple of images that I am saving as jpeg files. So, I have noted that today only (it worked fine yesterday) when I go to save the file to web, the size of the image changes from 400 px high to 430 px high. I didn't select anything to make each file change like that. There is a white area at the top of the image (which isn't good 4 my image). When I reduce the size of the jpeg - it reduces the image (so the white area remains).
Does anyone have a suggestion? This has happened with more than one image.
    Thanks 4 your help, Marty

If you have images to convert to jpg, use photoshop instead.
If the white are on top is 30 pixels, then you must have a stray point in your document or something that is not visible, but adds to the bounding box of your image. Do a Command Y in illustrator to see if something is there. Also if you are placing images into Illustrator, your original image may have a clipping path or something that is adding to your bounding box.

  • Colour changes when saving images as JPEGS/PNGS in Photoshop CS6

When I save my .PSD files as .JPEGS the colour of the images change drastically.
I never experienced this issue in CS 5 or 5.5, and am only experiencing it now as I just switched over to CS6.

Wow … another one of those threads, it seems.
What are your Edit > Color Settings, do you embed the profile on saving, in which application do you observe the change, …?

  • Tab background color changes when saving or downloading (Ubuntu) - bug ?

I'm using Firefox 20.0 on Linux Ubuntu.
When I'm opening and using Firefox, the active tab background is light gray, and the other tabs are black (with white/gray text). But as soon as I have downloaded a file (saving an image for example, or a pdf), the tabs change color: the non active tabs turn gray instead of black, and the tab text is almost unreadable (gray on gray).
I have disabled ALL extensions (including the Ubuntu/Unity extensions) and restarted Firefox, and get the same result. See screenshot with before/after downloading: http://imagesup.net/?di=113687926169
On the other hand, when I start Firefox in safe mode, all is well, the tabs don't change color when downloading or saving a file.
What to do? Could this be a bug ?

    Hey, I'm on Ubuntu, too.
It seems like you don't use Ubuntu's default theme, or at least, you have some modifications there, right? Try disabling your customizations to see if it works, I never saw / heard of this problem anywhere.
Also update your Firefox, there are changes that your problem is fixed after updating.
Another suggestion would be hacking about:config, for example, it might be the Download Manager's arrow flashing ( just guessing ), so you might want to disable that and see if something changes.
search 'browser.download.manager' in about:config and play with those configs to see if anything changes.

  • Color Change when saving from CS4

I have an image from which I wish to make a selection and save as a .png or .gif file on transparent background to use in a collage.  When I re-save the image from CS4, the color is changed quite drastically (face from color to ash!).  The image was shot with a P&S as .jpg but opens in PS first in the cameraRaw dialogue for unknown reasons:
    http://www.gobeck.ca/screenshots/cameraRAW.jpg
When I save it from CS4:
    http://www.gobeck.ca/screenshots/color_rendition.jpg
    Result form the selection:
    http://www.gobeck.ca/screenshots/color_change.jpg
    How do I resolve this?
    Art

For disabling JPEG in ACR go to EDIT => Preferences => Camera Raw and switch it to "Disable JPEG Support" at the bottom in JPEG and TIFF handling.
It seems that you apply the ProPhoto colorspace via ACR.
So the result can have two reasons: either the JPEG was saved untagged (converted to ProPhoto but without embedded colorspace) or it was tagged and saved with an embedded profile, but the other applications are non- or wrong colormanaged. Both will result in a desaturated image like it shows up to the right:
How the appear in a non-colormanaged browser, see the names:
Also the # in the image name (3rd image) indicates that your color settings (workspace settings) in PS are different from the colorspace of the image.
Either apply sRGB when you go through ACR or disable the open JPEG with ACR feature as desribed above, which should preserve the original colorspace.

  • Billing Plan Billing Block Change when saving the sales order

    Dear Gurus,
We have SD Integrated with PS. We create the sales orders and pull the billing plans milestones from WBS.
Once we generate the billing plans, system will propose the billing block for all the line items of the milestones which normally comes from the billing plan configuration/item category.
Would like to know the appropriate userexit to change the Billing block to "XX" if some of the requirements are not met when we create or change the sales document.
Below is what i am able to see but seems to be not helpfull.. please guide..
    User exits in program RV60FUS1
        BILLING_SCHEDULE_DELTA
For milestone billing a percentage value is fully invoiced for each billing deadline. In the case of deviations between the original item value and any later changes, you can use the user exit to determine whether the difference should be stored in the final invoice or sent to the next deadline.

  • Keeping changes when saving to jpeg.

Working in raw, I have made changes to exposurre etc.  when I save to jpeg they go lighter.  I have looked in the colour settings which are set the same as the camera at sRGB but not sure if I a missing something.  I have recently upgraded from CS4 to CS6, wasn't a problem in CS4, I have looked at the settings in both to try to get them the same but nothing is working.

Hi. Because this forum is for beginners trying to learn the basics of Photoshop, I'm moving your question to the Photoshop General Discussion forum.

  • Colors change when saving to PDF from InDesign

I admittedly don't understand color handling, no matter how much I seem to read about it. Lately my files that I've been exporting to PDF from Indesign have looked slightly different and odd to me once they're converted to PDF. Sometimes the colors are dull, sometimes the drop shadows are a weird grey... Here's the latest example. Perhaps someone has some wisdom for me here...
I created this poster in Illustrator. Here's how it looks in Illustrator:
Then I went into Indesign and linked the file. (this is strange...) When I display the file with "typical display", it displays as such:
That looks pretty good... But when I set the display to "high quality display", I get this:
This is also the result I get when I open the exported file in Adobe Acrobat Pro. Why the color change?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Thanks, Will...
So, upon investigating, I realized that my color space in Illustrator was RGB... Damn... I must have overlooked that... When I convert (in Illustrator) to CMYK, I get those strange colors again.
When I export to PDF, the Output is "no color conversion", so it's not being converted to CMYK yet...
Plus, I just linked the AI files in Indesign when I placed them in there.
So, Indesign must be converting the file to CMYK? And that's why the colors change once I convert to PDF? What do you think?
Also, I used InDesign to place the files so that I could create a 2-page pdf easily that the printer could work with. I had a 4-up handbills page in there that I was planning on printing as well.
So, if this looks best in RGB, what do you think about me sending an RGB file to the printer and then printing it that way? I've been told that RGB is no good for printing, but I've also read otherwise as well...
    Thanks again!!

  • Excel 2007 cell color changes when copying to other docum. using clipboard

    Hi,
There is excel 2007 document which is generated by SAP. I think it contains
some VB macros and some grouping.
The problem is that if I select something from that document, copy that and
paste to another excel 2007 document - colors get inverted somehow - for
example white cell becomes red cell (backgroud color I mean), other
    background colors changes as well.
If I open this xlsx document using excel 2003 (it converts document using
compatibility pack) the issue is gone - I can copy contents to other excel
2003 document without losing any format info.
The problem is that our users all use office 2007.
What could couse this behaviour ?
    thanks in advance

    dear friend,
    you would do:
    1. search SAP Notes;
    2. check out the updates/patches for your MS Office;
    3. replicate it on another computer/another sap user (make sure it is a local issue)
    good luck!

  • Font changes when saving to Word

Hi, I am trying to save an appleworks document as Word 97, 2000 but when I open in in Word2000 the font has changed from Times New Roman (default in in AW) to Helvetica. Also all the foreign language characters ( I am typing in French) have been replaced by weird characters making the document unreadable - a CV by the way.
I know that I can save as PDF or probably download and use OpenOffice but I would love to be able to do all this in AW. Should it be possible? Am I missing something obviuos
    TIA Andy

    Hi Andy
Have you ever try to save as HTML ?
The resulting doc will be readable in any Browser keeping my dear french characters.
Alas, the font info is NOT passed.
Here is a sample resulting file. The original contained three fonts.
