Centering an image in the Spry photo album in Dreamweaver?

Hello,
I made my own photo gallery in Dreamweaver using this tutorial (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/spry_photo_album.html)
I got everything to work beautifully but I don't know how to get my images to center in the main div container.
Some are vertical and some are horizontally so I am trying to make sure they all center in the div container instead of defaulting to the top left of the container.
Any suggestions??
Thanks in Advance!
Natalie

Once again with out seeing the code it is rather hard to give you a precise answer. However, find the div that surrounds all your content for the page and if it has a fixed with in your css then simply add margins to center it or if you don't have a surrounding div simply add one...example:
html:
<body>
<div id="content">
Page content
</div>
</body>
CSS:
#content{
     width:900px;
     margin: 0 auto;
a left and right margin of auto will center your div within the browser.

  • Spry photo album displays in Safari not in IE

    I used the article
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/spry_photo_album.html
    as a guide to build a spry photo album for a pool & spa web
    site. The photo album displays perfectly in IE when I preview it
    locally. However, when viewing the photo album after uploading to
    server, the photo album does not display. To make the problem more
    confusing, when I use safari to view the photo album it works
    perfectly on the server. What have I done wrong to make it work in
    Safari and not IE? I need it to work in IE. I have cross checked
    the code dozens of times trying to find the problem with no luck. I
    need some direction please.
    Here are the files in question:

    http://www.lagobellopools.com/free-form.xml
    http://www.lagobellopools.com/styles.css
    Many thanks in advance for your response!

    When validating
    http://www.lagobellopools.com/free-form-pools.php
    I get these error's in dreamweaver and at W3C;
    The tag: "div" doesn't have an attribute: "spry:region" in
    currently active versions.[XHTML 1.0 transitional]
    The tag: "img" doesn't have an attribute: "spry:repeat" in
    currently active versions.[XHTML 1.0 transitional]
    The tag: "div" doesn't have an attribute: "spry:detailregion"
    in currently active versions.[XHTML 1.0 transitional]
    Could this be why it works in firefox and Safari and not
    Internet Explorer? I am perplexed as to why the spry photo album
    will work in all browers except IE. It will only work in IE
    locally. What am I missing? If anyone has any ideas at all please
    let me know. Does anyone have a working example of the spry photo
    album in Internet explorer?

  • The web photo album command needs some improvement

    First I'd like to thanks for the
    web
    photo album command embed with Dreamweaver. My job requires me
    create photo albums with thousands of pictures, it saves a lot of
    time for me.
    Now I'd like to ask someone to improve this fuction. I need
    to click the thumbnails on the index page to pop-up a window that
    show up the detail picture page (If I can key in the pop-up window
    size in the command UI will be perfect). Currently this album
    generator only links to the large picture's page. I need to make
    them to a pop-up window for each manually (thousands of them).
    I tried
    Web
    Photo Album 2.2 for Dreamweaver 8 and MX 2004, V2.2.6, it
    doesn't have this function either. Compare to the web photo album
    command in Dreamweaver, it can't generate filename to caption in
    the detail picture page automatically (You can key in captions in
    Fireworks manually though).
    If someone can improve the web photo album command to pop-up
    window available, I think use "close window" link instead of the
    link to the album index page in the detail picture's page will be
    helpful.

  • Creating a Photo Album In Dreamweaver MX 2004

    I followed the steps to create a web photo album using
    Dreamweaver MX 2004 and Fireworks and it creates it. However, I
    can't get it to display on the web when I upload it. It displays
    the message "Page can not be found". Please help!

    I think the fact that you have spaces in your files/folder
    names is bound to
    have created problems. I suggest you do some renaming and
    re-upload.
    BTW it is incredibly difficult to access pages on the site.

  • Online Photo Albums With Dreamweaver/FireWorks

    I try to make an online photo album with dreamweaver and fireworks and it says an "internal error occured" and wont work. Any idea wha the problem is?

    Hi,
    I am really not sure why you would have that problem. If there is any way you can explain what you did exactly in your coding.
    Are you trying to do this in your website?

    If you are trying to do a photo album there are several tutorials online that help you out(are you trying to use Flickr?). I personally make my own photo slideshows using Flash.

  • How do I get the new photos albums from my imac to sync to my iphone?

    Last week my iMac did the software update that replaced iPhoto on my iMac with the new Photos application.
    Since then, I have migrated all my iphoto library to the Photos library and have been able to further sort my photos in the albums area.
    I have backed up my iPhone 6, and then completed a sync so it would be updated accordingly with the photos app as opposed to the previous iPhoto app. In iTunes everything looks fine, in Photos everything looks fine, and there was a bit of a hiccup once or twice with trying to complete the sync process (although I imagine this was simply due to the mere nature of the number of images have to sync as I do photography and I model so over 32000 photos to sync). Finally I was able to complete the sync process, and all seemed fine.
    I then went in to Photos app on the iPhone 6, and all the photos are there, all the albums are there, but all the albums are empty even though the photos are on the phone in the photos sections???
    I would really like to know how to get the albums to sync properly to my iPhone 6 from an iMac, does anyone know what to do?
    Also, my iPhone since then has been dropping battery life significantly and getting very warm over short periods of time, but I have had no applications open, the phone has not been in use at the time and has been locked screen.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Synced photos can only be deleted by syncing again with iTunes and deselecting all synced items.

  • Image storing algorithm at photo album sites

    Hi there;
    I am coding a image storeing website... Photo albums etc.But storing them in a folder system is getting complex for me... Whats the best way of storing image to folders?
    What i did up to now is: every member has its own main folder named with hex numbers... and i rename the uploaded images with hexnumbers again...
    The result is like:(first one is user-hex /second one is image-hex.jpeg)
    4324AFC3BC2390DE / 45F83AECB43B2A.jpeg
    its an unprofessional but simple working way...hard to predict the image hex if the image is published as private picture...
    If the user has 2000 photos it maybe hard for a single folder to index the photos...
    When i look at professional photo album sites webshots.com or flickr...
    Image folders are like 67/434/4543/345/4534/5443F432ACD342.jpeg
    so there are too many subfolders...But whats the logic and algorithm behind..How do they name these subfolders?how do they group images in folders?
    What can i do with JAVA with best performance on heavy traffic?The archiving mechanism must be fast on indexing and good for maintanance
    Please give me ideas or refer me some web links
    thank you
    BuraK

    If you are using a database to store information about the image then you can use the primary key (or an obsfucated version of it) as the name of the file.
    That way when you move images between folders/groups you don't have to move the physical file as its primary key stays the same. All that is needed is a DB update to change the folder/group relationship in the table.
    A side note: Many file systems have severe performance problems if you store too many files in a single directory. Subdirectories can really help. Use part of the primary key as a directory name and the rest as the file name.

  • Spry Photo album not working with spry accordion

    I am trying to get a photo album to work in the spry
    accordion - so that each panel you click on the accordion is a new
    photo subject (ie waterfalls, sunsets ect) but it does not work
    well. Both the thumbs and the main picture are visible through all
    the accordion panels instead of the one I put it in. Any ideas why
    it might not work? Would you need to see my code?

    thumbpath = "travel_02.jpg"
    thumbwidth = "75"
    thumbheight = "56">
    </photo>
    the photo album didn't work... does anyone know why?
    thank you for your help in advance
    Betsy w.

    The other important thing is that the <img src path
    matches your folder structure.
    In our gallery samples, we are dynamically generating the img
    path with data references. I would start by hardcoding an image
    path that works, so you know your path is correct. Then replace the
    image name with the data reference.
    <img src="mypath/totheimage/travel_01.jpg">
    When that works, then change to:
    <img src="mypath/totheimage/{@path}">
    Let me know if that helps.

  • The removed photo albums in iWeb are not removed from my website.

    I have removed a few photo albums from my web site in iWeb and added none. When uploading the changes to my website it still shows all the albums only the links of the removed albums are not valid any more.
    How can I get the albums completely removed from my site via iWeb?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You are hosting your site on a MobileMe account, correct?
    Try publishing the entire site with the File ➙ Publish Entire Site menu. If that doesn't clear out the old stuff from your web site try the following:
    1 - close iWeb.
    2 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
    3 - go to your User/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete the contents.
    4 - reboot.
    5 - launch iWeb and and try again.
    Still if not cleared out publish the site to a folder on your hard drive and open the local copy with your browser to see if that shows the changes to the site.
    Happy Holidays

  • Why are my pictures in the "All Photos" Album out of order?

    Within Albums there is an "All Photos" folder but some of the photos are out of order. How is this "All Photos" album different to the "Photos" view (which is in the correct order) and why are they not the same?

    Thanks, that's a helpfuland explanation of the difference and makes sense as all  my photos are actually  in an album (which was an event in the previous version).
    However it doesn't explain why the order in "all photos" is different.  It is not in the order that the albums are arranged, and odd photos seem randomly scattered about separated from other photos from the same album.
    On a separate note It's also a shame as there is no way of arranging the albums chronologically (which you could do with events)

  • How can I load one photo at a time from Documents into the Firefox Photo Album. Using Vista ome Basic

    I really cannot see exactly where to start

    select the head with one of Photoshop's selection tools
    When doing this, I find it quite helpful to create an intermediate image with a transparent background that contains only the head to be pasted into the second image. First I paste the head onto this transparent background, scale it, rotate it or skew it to make it fit into the other image, adjust the lighting, then select it.
    To be able to paste the head seemlessly into the second image (and without aliasing effects), I make the border of the selection soft (⌥⌘D); my Photoshop has a german interface, so I am not sure about the english localization, this command must be something like "selection -> modify selection -> soft border".
    I would not bother to get the lighting and color excactly right in Photoshop, that is  far easier with the "dodge" and "burn" brushes and color adjustments in Aperture.
    To do this completely in Aperture, you would have first to combine both images into one (for example by creating a book page), then use the retouche->clone tool to stamp the head from one image to the other. I use this occasionally to stamp a face into a flower bud or for  similar effects. However, for this to work you need a plain background and nearly circular shapes to be pasted.

  • How do you do this... Centering an image at the bottom of a container.

    Hi,
    I am relatively new to Dreamweaver... and I want to center an image at the bottom of my "maincontent" container.
    I have the image placed in the the proper conatiner, yet no matter what rule I set I cannot not seem to get it to center at the bottom.   Is this possible?
    Thanks!

    This is another way to center the image under a block of text inside a div:
