Certain letters not responding

I just picked this phone up 2day 8530.  When I go to text or add contacts certain letters dont work like b,n,y,u etc how do i fix this or did I get a bad phone?

Did it ever work OK? If so, what changed just before it stopped working? A new Theme? Some new app? Some update? The tiniest thing could be causal.
If nothing above applies, then the diagnostic activity is tedious...reinstalling your OS from scratch and adding nothing. Then adding things one at a time very slowly until the behavior returns...indicating the culprit.
Given how new your BB is, if nothing above applies, then I do advise taking it back in...there's no need to struggle with this type of thing with a brand new device.
Cheers!

  • Certain keys not responding

Today on my mac book the A,S,U, and Y keys stopped working. Randomly before they all quit the U key would act like it was stuck and start filling up a text box or address bar, even if I hadn't touched the key. The track pad also started acting weird i.e. the pointer would be sluggish. Any ideas?

It sounds like you need a new keyboard/trackpad (which is the "top case" part). If your system is under warranty, take it in for service. If it isn't, the repair isn't extraordinarily hard (See instructions here). You could just try to reseat the cable and see if that fixes things.
Powerbook Medic has some new top cases in stock for USD$149 each.

Your UserAgent string in Firefox is totally messed up by another program that you installed, and Barclays doesn't know you are using Firefox 3.6.6 - it probably looks like IE 6.0 to that website.

type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter

Right-click the preferences that are '''bold''', one line at a time, and select '''''Reset''''',

hi, my firefox and safari are both having difficulty loading certain parts of web pages. previous to this my firefox would freeze and state that a script was not responding. i would stop the script and reload the page and everything would be fine. now though the pages just load very very slowly or load leaving out certain pictures and video content. i've tried clearing my cache's and cookies, resetting my browser etc, but it seems like its a system issue as both safari and firefox are having issues. i've run Avast to screen for malware and it came up empty. any suggestions?

10.4.8's been a pain for Networking... not sure of all the reasons though, or whether all the complaints might not be MS working around Bugs/Non-compliance, but at this point I think you should get Applejack...

After installing, boot holding down CMD+s, then when the prompt shows, type in...

Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
Fixes a lot of problems, and besides, if your Mac ever gets to the point it won't Boot... this is a life saver!
After you run that... let's see where we are.

  • My keyboard will not recognize certain letters.

My keyboard will not recognize certain letters when I hit the key, nor does it recognize ca@s lock.

If it does not appear after tapping in any of the required fields then try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe!

Ever since I archived a few thousand emails I have been a problem with my Thunderbird freezing and "not responding" for 15-30 seconds after I delete certain people's emails in my inbox. I am running Windows 7 (64 bit) and have Microsoft Security Essentials running.

  • CS2 not responding to certain keyboard keys

I have CS2 with Windows.  It has been working perfectly but just recently some of the keys will not respond eg F7 for the layers.
Also when trying to put Text on an image the text shows as a line ---------- but shows what is written in the layers comp.  Very annoying as I cannot gauge properly what I want to do.
I'm not sure if it is something I have maybe altered in the set up unbeknowingly.
    Can anyone help me?

Try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776?tstart=0
You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.
If you bought CS2 recently you may have been the victim of a fraud!

  • Firefox is not responding on certain websites

a few weeks ago i noticed that firefox was running much slower on some websites. today i downloaded version 4.0 in hopes that it might correct the problem but it hasn't. every time i visit sites such as amazon.com, imdb.com, musiciansfriend.com, nba.com and a few others, firefox totally freezes up and it is deemed as not responding in the task manager. I have always enjoyed firefox but if this continues I'm going to be forced to start using Internet Explorer because those sites work fine with that web browser.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Forever "Not Responding" if certain actions are performed.

Whenever I perform one of these three actions...
{A} Attempt to open Browser Settings
{B} Attempt to UP-load a file of any kind
{B} Attempt to DOWN-load a file of any kind
...Firefox instead goes all "Not Responding" and never comes out. I've even left it to sit for a night and when I came back nothing had changed.
I've always cleared my Download History, and any options regarding Browser Settings is not an option.
    Any ideas?

  • ITunes 8 not responding

When I open iTunes 8 it looks like it starts "Genius - Gathering information about your library" and it starts downloading something. Then it immediately hangs. The task manager says iTunes is not responding. I cannot make windows vista kill the process. When I reboot, Vista hangs on logout (only when iTunes is hung). I have to do a hard power cycle.
I uninstalled and re-installed iTunes 8 but that didn't help. I've tried letting it go overnight to see if iTunes was just busy, but that didn't help.
The impact is that I simply can't use iTunes since it's always hung.
    Any advice?

Well. You bumped your post so I just saw it. You are no longer alone. ; )
Security software can certainly make itunes hinky!
You mentioned itunes went back to the default location, not using G: any more. That can happen if itunes doesn't see G: when it starts. Always make sure your G: drive is operational BEFORE starting itunes.
Better yet, assign it a permanent drive letter of G: in Windows. Windows has a nasty habit of changing drive letters on you depending what you've plugged into USB ports. Your exHD could suddenly become H: and itunes will lose all the music paths.

  • IPhone 4S touchscreen not responding

    Software up to date.
I am finding that my touchscreen often is not responding, particularly on certain letters when texting such as "a" & "w"...but it will also not respond when I touch the text icon to begin texting. It's driving me nuts.
Is there a known fix for something like this?

Standard troubleshooting steps are as follows:
Power your iPhone off and on.
No change, try a reset which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release. A reset is similar to a computer restart and does not affect any data or settings.
No change, restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup.
No change, restore your iPhone as a new iPhone or not from the backup.
If no change after the last step, more than likely your iPhone has a hardware problem. The iPhone includes a one year warranty.

  • Final Cut Not responding after computer is in Sleep Mode

I put my computer to sleep for a few hours when I go away on a shoot. When I come back and wake the computer, final cut gives me the spinning wheel of death and is not responding. What is even more annoying is when I go to force quit the program, it doesn't quit from the task bar and the dot under the icon of final cut is still lit. Even after trying 10 force quits it still stays active. I am forced to shutdown my computer everytime and this problem happens everytime the computer goes to sleep and is woken up.
Is there a fix to this?

    Which version of FCP?
    Are you on a network?
How many drives are in your Mac?
And, if there is more than one drive, are you absolutely certain you placed your registration information on the correct drive?
The usual explanation is that FCP is trying to locate or verify the serial number (different behaviors in different versions). The drive where that info is stored is inaccessible (because the drive is not spinning and so is the same as not mounted) to FCP (which is loaded into RAM) and totally active.

    Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems?esab=a&s=troubleshooting&r=3&as=s#w_5-reinstall-firefox here].
<b>WARNING:</b> Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <u>These cannot be recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!</u>
Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Thank you.
