Cffeed: Atom problem
I'm trying to create an Atom feed using cffeed (funny that all of the examples on the internet use RSS). If I leave out "content", the feed is created fine, but of course with no content. I have the following cfscript:
s.entry[i].content = StructNew();
s.entry[i].content.value = posts.post_body[i];
(s is the struct I'm passing to cffeed, entry is the array that contains all of my entries using index i)
But I get the following error:
content should be a Array.
So I go ahead and change it to this:
s.entry[i].content = ArrayNew(1);
s.entry[i].content[1] = posts.post_body[i];
And now I get this error:
content should be a Struct.
So which is it, ColdFusion? An array or a struct?
It was perhaps your intention to do something like this:
<!--- s is a struct, entry an array --->
<cfset s.entry = arrayNew(1)>
<!--- initialize each element in the entry array as a struct --->
<cfloop index="i">
<cfset s.entry[i]=structNew()>
</cfloop>
<!--- content, title are keys in a struct --->
<cfset s.entry[1].content="content_1">
<cfset s.entry[2].content="content_2">
<cfset s.entry[3].content="content_3">
etc., etc.
<cfset s.entry[1].title="title_1">
<cfset s.entry[2].title="title_2">
<cfset s.entry[3].title="title_3">
etc., etc.
<!--- more generally, in a loop --->
<cfloop index="k"
<cfset s.entry[k].content=posts.post_body[k]>
<cfset s.entry[k].title=posts.post_title[k]>
etc., etc.
</cfloop>

QT "invalid public movie atom" problem - iPod Classic
I encountered a strange "invalid public movie atom" problem relating to my brand new iPod classic (80GB):
I used QTpro 7.4.1(14) to convert several movie/avi files for iPod (the standard procedure via the offered converting methods).
After copying them to the iPod via iTunes, they showed flawlessly on the iPod and i was also able to watch them on my TV.
Then i converted another file, copied it to iPod and tried to start the video, the result was a fuzzy green screen (like some encountered it with the album art) and the the iPod crashed (restarting automatically with the grey apple-logo screen).
I did this a second time, it crashed, and after restarting again, i tried it with one of the videos that worked fine before. One of them then caused the same problem, green fuzzy screen, restarting automatically!
When i tried to open these two files mentioned with QT from the movies folder in my iTunes library, i got the "invalid public movie atom" message and, well, the videos don´t play anymore. (keep in mind, they played before!)
Important: i did a clean install about two weeks ago, installing all updates (OSX, QT, iPod, etc.) before doing anything else. The first videos im talking about are older, but worked well after the cleaninstall/update procedure was done. Since then nothing was changed and now suddenly the problem appears?!
Some thoughts: i read here in other posts that A the iPod sometimes crashes because of that "album art problem", but that doesn´t have anything to do with video?! B since it worked before (the last days since i did the clean install) the bug , or whatever it is, "appeared" based on another issue?
Thx :-/
Hardware/Software involved: PowerMag G5 dual 2GHz., iPod Classic 80GB, OSX 10.5.2, QT 7.4.1(14), iTunes 7.6.1(9), iPod 1.1.1
I also posted this in the QT for Mac OS section:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1442446&tstart=0There is a little piece of code that tells iTunes which movies can be played on iPod. It is called the iPod Atom. If you have a movie that is fully compatible with iPod BUT doesn't have this atom, it just won't sync regardless the movie can actually be played by the iPod. I have been having trouble with these little bastards myself...
My guess on your problem is that the converted movies weren't 100% compatible with your iPod but they had the atom so they synced. Some AVI movies plays partially on QT.
May I suggest that you instal Perian which adds a lot of codec handlers to Quicktime and try to re-encode some of them.
On my side, I have been trying to find how to insert the aforementioned iPod Atom on movies that have already been encoded so I don't have to re-encode them again... But that's my personal quest. Good Luck!

Early start of progressive video?
Using CS5 Master Collection.
I encoded a video into a 30mb FLV using AME out of PPro and then created a swf with Flash using a standard player skin to get the full-screen option that seems not to be available in the DW skins. This all works fine locally when tested in an HTML page using the code provided by Flash.
When uploaded to the web server, there is a long delay whilst the whole video file downloads before replay starts.
Two years ago when last I did this I was using an earlier version of the software and seem to recall that there was a parameter to start replay much earlier than this. But I can't find it in CS5.
I've tried playerID.bufferTime = 10 in the AS3 code inside the SWF to no effect.
How can I persuade the video to start playing much more quickly without waiting for the full download to complete?
Thanks for some enlightenment.I'd say the problem is in the .flv... or perhaps it's a f4v (the flash version of an mp4).
there is a long delay whilst the whole video file downloads before replay starts.
This means that the file is not being progressively downloaded, so buffer time has no meaning or effect.
Your problem sounds just like the MOOV ATOM problem often experienced with QuickTime mp4 files. The "movie atom" index which carries the file size into is at the very end of the file, preventing progressive downloading. The solution for that issue is to swap the MA from the very back of the file to the front.

QuickTime .MOV file Recovery
Hey there I am hoping I can get a little help as I'm not a computer whizz when it comes to this sort of thing.
I had recently taken videos off of my iPhone and put them on my laptop to clear up space and for safe keeping.
I have recently been going through my collection and found one of my videos wasn't working.
When I tried to open it in QuickTime the message that popped up was Error 2048 - It is a file that QuickTime does not understand.
I then had the idea that if I tried to sync the file back to my iPhone that it might work, considering it was recorded on that, but nope I got the message that the file couldn't play on the iPhone.
Now I've searched the web, maybe not hard enough, and all I've found are websites trying to sell sell sell converters and such, which I just don't trust.
Has anyone experienced this? Have you been able to recover the file and resolve your issue??
I'm hoping you can help me out so that I can view my video and have the knowledge to help others and tackle this problem if it ever occurs again.
Thanks in advance, I really appreciate the help.I had recently taken videos off of my iPhone and put them on my laptop to clear up space and for safe keeping.

Sounds like the file may have been corrupted during the transfer process. Whether or not the data can be recovered would depend on the form of the corruption. For instance, if the file can be opened and played in the VLC media player, then you might be able to copy the H.264/AAC data from the corrupted file container to a new MOV, MP4, or M4V file container. On the other hand, if the transferred file will not play in VLC, the the corruption is more severe and, depending on your need to recover the data, might be worth seeking recovery assistance.
Now I've searched the web, maybe not hard enough, and all I've found are websites trying to sell sell sell converters and such, which I just don't trust.
If the file cannot be opened and played, it s unlikely a converter would do any good. However, there are recovery services that may or may not be able to help you—once again depending on the nature of the problem and whether or not the data itself is corrupted.
Has anyone experienced this? Have you been able to recover the file and resolve your issue??
Have experienced many different issues. Security error trapping and missing EOF issues tend to be correctable—usually by simply copying the data to a new file container as mentioned above. Atom errors may or may not be fixable. In my case, if atom problems are not extremely obvious, I simply normally consider the file non-recoverable and move on. The same for corrupted and/or missing data. -
Live Stream only spools, never connects.
Up until several weeks ago, I was able to watch Live Stream. Now, it only 'spools' and never connects. The chat message box says 'disconnected.' Firefox is my browser.
I know this is a problem with JWPlayer which is very widely used. When videos get converted to Mpeg4 (h.264) flash, the time information is often at the end of the video. This causes the player to try to buffer the entire video before it starts playing.
Interestingly, Quicktime Pro 7 and Final Cut Pro put the time information where it belongs, but most of the other tools to convert do not. I spent weeks trying to solve this problem for videos on my site www.dfdtv.com . The solution was right in front of me all the time, QT Pro.
You can find out for sure by just starting the video in question and just waiting for a long time. If it is the time atom problem, it will eventually start to play.
All of our videos' are now h.264 and if created with QT Pro they stream great using JWplayer/Firefox (and underneath it all Adobe Flash). -
I created a .SWF with Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 and would like to insert it into one of my .asp files in Dreamweaver. However, everytime I insert the media into dreamweaver and press play, the flash just turns white and doesn't play at all.
However, whenever I test the actual flash in a browser, it works just fine.
I have read up on similar problems and tried to find a solution but I had no success.
I read somewhere that it may be a pathing problem so I consolidated all the assets and files related to the .SWF and placed it in the root folder and also uploaded all the files to my FTP server and tested it again but with not success.
My head feels like its going to explode because it seems I'm so close but yet so very very far.
file:///Users/irdanner/Desktop/Youngs%20Trading/Flash%20Project/bin-debug/VideoAd.html
This is the link for the actual flash file I would like to insert.
Can anyone please come to my rescue?Couple of things I noticed.
First, there should not be any spaces in any folder or file names...
file:///Users/irdanner/Desktop/Youngs%20Trading/Flash%20Project/bin-de bug/VideoAd.html
see all those "%20"s... those represent spaces in folder/file names... use_the_underscore_to_replace_spaces.
Also it look like you may be using a path relative to your local machine... which includes folder that are not on the server... for example
Users/irdanner/Desktop/
those should not be a part of the path unless that exact same folder structure exists on the server.
If the Flash is loading a .mov file... and it does in fact load... if just takes forever, you may have a MOOV ATOM problem.
More info here:
http://renaun.com/blog/code/qtindexswapper/
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/video/articles/mp4_movie_atom.html
Of course you can't just change the file extension from .mov to .flv, they are very different types of files.
when I do the same with the .flv file
Are you saying that you actually have two video files? a .mov and a .flv? along with the .swf file (the actual video PLAYER).
For further help a link to the actual on-line web page would be helpful.

IF I pull in the RSS 2 Feed, from the latest uploads eg:
http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?id=98234668@N00&lang=en-us&format=r ss_200
I can work with it well, and do whatever I want.
IF I pull in a set feed (which is apparently Atom 1.0) eg:
http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photoset.gne?set=72157606748972492&nsid=98234668@N00& lang=en-us
I get nothing usable in Dreamweaver 8.
I have pulled every single item from the feed into the
dreamweaver page, and nothing. Not even a space or paragraph jump
to indicate it tried to pull something, but couldn't.
Now - if I change the photo set code to reflect that is an
RSS 2 feed (ie. add - &format=rss_200) to the end of the line
where it connects to the source, I get the same information as I do
when pulling the "latest" feed, and can work with it no problem. No
problem while previewing the XSL fragment anyhow. Once I call that
fragment from an ASP page, it gives me this error:
MM_XSLTransform error:
"flickrgalleryfeed.xsl" is not a valid XSLT document.
Reference to undeclared namespace prefix: 'media'.
I have tried to declare media using a declaration from the
page that works - to no avail. It just wont parse.
How can I hack the page so that it thinks it is parsing RSS2?
Is this a dreamweaver problem, an IIS 5 problem, or what? Please
help. What is being checked, and by what, to tell my browser (FLock
2 and IE6) that there is a problem???
Remember - the XSL fragment page previews correctly on it's
own. Once it is called by the ASP page it has a problem and
generates the error.
I have viewed the feed directly with Flock and other feed
readers, so I know that there is valid data there, I just can't get
it to display.had the same problem have found the following;
Uploading to Photostream - permissions ok
Uploading to a new set via iPhoto - permissions ok
Uploading into a current Flickr Set (even with current photos in set permission as only you) - permissions of uploaded photo not respected and set to public

Problems with CFFEED and the rsslink
Hi,
I am new to all this RSS stuff, and have been looking at the
new cffeed tag in creating rss feeds for my company's website. I am
currently testing all this on my local machine using the developer
edition. I seem to be able to create the feed just fine using the
query method but my problem is that I cannot get the feeds to link
back to the website. It seems to be leaving off the page name, and
script info. I have searched high and low, and have not been able
to find any solutions to this problem. I would really appreciate if
anyone had any ideas for me!
I have attached my code. As you can see using the meta.link,
and then the rsslink from the query, the link should be going to:
http://www.spirent.com/news/news.cfm?id=#id#,
however it is going to:
http://www.spirent.com/news/#id#
Also, since I am doing this locally I have just been using
the firefox rss ticker, and built in reader to test. I have also
noticed, then using firefox built in reader it doesnt link the
items at all??Only if you can find the book!!!!! ADE has 300+ of my books.....too bad I can't even get the from any library on ADE.

}Well this is weird, and a likely candidate for the Journal of Irreproducable Results. I deleted the videos from Vimeo last night just before I posted to this forum. I then shut down the computer for the night. Booted up this morning, and the H.264 export played fine in QuickTime, and in VLC. So I uploaded it again to Vimeo here: https://vimeo.com/40655208 (password protected, by the way, intended for my client's approval. PW = DIYEFT) and it now seems to play fine.
To say I'm puzzled doesn't begin to describe it. If my internet connection had been slow last night (Time Warner cable, not the quickest out there) that might help explain the sutttering on Vimeo, but it wouldn't explain the similar stuttering in QuickTime. -
CF8 CFFEED create iTunes metadata problem
Is anyone able to tell me how do you create iTunes metadata
for an RSS feed? I have followed the CFML reference but the code
does not seem to work. The itunes item elements display, but not
the metadata.Thanks for the reply..
But according the the CFML8 ref the structure is sound ..
name See Note A structure that contains complete feed data:
• The output of a read action.
• The input definition of the feed to create.
When you specify the name attribute for a create action, you
must enclose it
in number signs (#).
When you create a feed, the name and properties structures
can represent all standard metadata for RSS 2 or Atom 1 feeds, in
the format described in the Name and properties structure rules
section.
Here an example feed from their reference.. -
Problem assembling atomic.s with as/fbe
I've tried with the system as, SS12 fbe and SSX fbe and all the same result. I've done some changes to the ON build and when it hits atomic.s I get the errors below..
Something is misconfigured in my env or how can I track down a solution/work-around to figure out if it's a bug..
I'm not sure the SWAN path for atomic.s, but shouldn't be hard to find.. I'd provide the -E preprocessed output, but have to look what at what to pass to cpp to get it to save the tmp file.

kernel /vmlinuz26 root=/dev/sda3 processor.ignore_ppc=1 ro
initrd /kernel26.img
and change the value in

from 0 to 1
but still, this isn't a solution (yes, it does work, but... its only a workaround) hopefully, this will be solved in future, until then, you may stick with this...

Yes, I have tried to set the freq manualy. It was possible to change the freq in range of 1ghz to 1.33ghz, but not highter.

I already have done this long ago... my problem was that the bios_limit is set to 1.33ghz, whitch isn't the real maximum of my processor.

Error handling with CFFEED?
Hello, does anyone have a suggestion on handling errors from
CFFEED reads?
I'm reading an ATOM RSS feed from another site, but if there
is ever an issue with that remote site, it would prevent my page
from loading.
If, for example, the RSS feed wasn't available, I would get
an "Unable to read the source URL" error page.
What I would like to have happen would be the page to
continue processing, and instead of displaying the <CFOUTPUT

problem with the newsfeed".
Is there any way to ignore a "fatal error" from a CF tag, and
just move on with processing the rest of the page?
The code I've used here is Adobe's example for the CFFEED
tag. The RSS URL I'm testing with is:
http://feeds.emsresponder.com/emsresponderrss/top_ems_news
Thanks in advance!
-Ian in Los AngelesUse CFTRY and CFCATCH as suggested above. These tags can be
used around pretty much any potentially problematic code.
A good idea might be to put a CFMAIL tag in the CFCATCH which
will notify you if something is wrong - although, this depends on
how many people you'll have viewing the page, because you could end
up getting a lot of emails - I'm sure there must be a better
solution somewhere though, just an idea really. -
Problem With httpd.conf and mod_rewrite rules Apache 2.2
I have some RewriteRules that are working on my Leopard Client Apache 2.2 machine - but when I try to implement them on Leopard Server Apache 2.2, they don't work. I don't get any errors, they just won't execute.
Could somebody with Leopard Server help me out using the below info?
Here are the rules I am trying to add: (below is the httpd.conf file)

=========HTTPD.CONF=============
#### Default httpd.conf for Mac OS X Server, Apache 2.2
#### This httpd.conf differs from the httpd.conf distributed
#### with Apache and the httpd.conf present on Mac OS X.
#### Feel free to edit this; the Server Admin app also edits this file but will
#### respect your changes unless noted below. See also ReadMe.txt.
## ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
## configuration, error, and log files are kept.
## NOTE! If you intend to place this on an NFS (or otherwise network)
## mounted filesystem then please read the LockFile documentation
## (available at <URL:<a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://">http://www.apache.org/docs/mod/core.html#lockfile>);
## you will save yourself a lot of trouble.
## Do NOT add a slash at the end of the directory path.
ServerRoot "/usr"
## PidFile: The file in which the server should record its process
## identification number when it starts.
PidFile /var/run/httpd.pid
## ScoreBoardFile: File used to store internal server process information.
## Not all architectures require this. But if yours does (you'll know because
## this file will be created when you run Apache) then you must ensure that
## no two invocations of Apache share the same scoreboard file.
#ScoreBoardFile "/var/run/apache2runtimestatus"
## Server-pool size regulation. Rather than making you guess how many
## server processes you need, Apache dynamically adapts to the load it
## sees --- that is, it tries to maintain enough server processes to
## handle the current load, plus a few spare servers to handle transient
## load spikes (e.g., multiple simultaneous requests from a single
## Netscape browser).
## It does this by periodically checking how many servers are waiting
## for a request. If there are fewer than MinSpareServers, it creates
## a new spare. If there are more than MaxSpareServers, some of the
## spares die off. The default values are probably OK for most sites.
MinSpareServers 1
MaxSpareServers 1
## Number of servers to start initially --- should be a reasonable ballpark
## figure.
StartServers 1
## MaxRequestsPerChild: the number of requests each child process is
## allowed to process before the child dies. The child will exit so
## as to avoid problems after prolonged use when Apache (and maybe the
## libraries it uses) leak memory or other resources. On most systems, this
## isn't really needed, but a few (such as Solaris) do have notable leaks
## in the libraries. For these platforms, set to something like 10000
## or so; a setting of 0 means unlimited.
## NOTE: This value does not include keepalive requests after the initial
## request per connection. For example, if a child process handles
## an initial request and 10 subsequent "keptalive" requests, it
## would only count as 1 request towards this limit.
MaxRequestsPerChild 100000
## Dynamic Shared Object (DSO) Support
## To be able to use the functionality of a module which was built as a DSO you
## have to place corresponding `LoadModule' lines at this location so the
## directives contained in it are actually available before they are used.
## Please read the file http://httpd.apache.org/docs/dso.html for more
## details about the DSO mechanism and run `httpd -l' for the list of already
## built-in (statically linked and thus always available) modules in your httpd
## binary.
## Note: The order in which modules are loaded is important. Don't change
## the order below without expert advice.
## Example:
## LoadModule foo_module libexec/mod_foo.so
#### For Mac OS X Server: Note that the Server Admin application
#### and the apxs utility enable and disable modules
#### by removing and adding a comment character.

# Settings for hosting different languages.
# Required modules: mod_mime, mod_negotiation
# DefaultLanguage and AddLanguage allows you to specify the language of
# a document. You can then use content negotiation to give a browser a
# file in a language the user can understand.
# Specify a default language. This means that all data
# going out without a specific language tag (see below) will
# be marked with this one. You probably do NOT want to set
# this unless you are sure it is correct for all cases.
# * It is generally better to not mark a page as
# * being a certain language than marking it with the wrong
# * language!
# DefaultLanguage nl
# Note 1: The suffix does not have to be the same as the language
# keyword --- those with documents in Polish (whose net-standard
# language code is pl) may wish to use "AddLanguage pl .po" to
# avoid the ambiguity with the common suffix for perl scripts.
# Note 2: The example entries below illustrate that in some cases
# the two character 'Language' abbreviation is not identical to
# the two character 'Country' code for its country,
# E.g. 'Danmark/dk' versus 'Danish/da'.
# Note 3: In the case of 'ltz' we violate the RFC by using a three char
# specifier. There is 'work in progress' to fix this and get
# the reference data for rfc1766 cleaned up.
# Catalan (ca) - Croatian (hr) - Czech (cs) - Danish (da) - Dutch (nl)

========HTTPD.CONF==========I am modifying the correct httpd.conf file on the server, it just doesn't seem to work. - If I put the rewrite rules in the <Directory /> the rewrite works but it adds /Library/WebServer/Documents to the URL.
I also tried putting the rewrite rules in <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> but that did not work either.
mod_rewrite is enabled and running on the server.
I will post the rewrite rules again in the code brackets. Sorry for the long post. - If some one can try them out on their Leopard Server to see if they can get them to work, it would be much appreciated. Again, these work on my Leopard Client but I can't get them to work on Server.
-- The httpd.conf file posted above is just the default conf file found in /private/etc/apache2/

I have the Bejeweled Blitz app (for Facebooik) on my iPod Touch 4th gen. If I want to find gems (special items used in Bejeweled) I have to use a browser (I'm using Atomic Browser) on my iPod so I can grab gems from Facebook's news feed. What's SUPPOSE to happen is this:
I set Atomic on my iPod to identify itself as Safari mobile (because the Bejeweled Blitz app on the iPod only recognizes Safari).
I load my Bejeweled app on my ipod.
I log into Facebook with Atomic and scan the news feed for gems and click on a gem.Atomic opens a new tab and tries to load the link.My iPod then switches from Atomic to my Bejeweled Blitz app and the gem appears in my game.
When I'm done with the game, I double click Home and swtich back to Atomic.
I close the new tab and search the news feed for the next gem.
HOWEVER, the problem is this: About two-thirds of the time, when Atomic opens a new tab to load the link, instead of my iPod swtching to Bejeweled Blitz, it opens my App Store app and takes me to the Bejeweled Blitz app download page. Sometimes the problem occurs when I'm done with my game: i.e., when I go back to the browser, the iPod swtiches from Atomic and loads the App Store app before I even have a chance to close the tab. It's a big pain in the neck because it takes a long time for the App Store app to load and when I go back to my Bejeweled Bltz app, it acts like it got dumped from memory and has to restart.
So... How do I make it so that my App Store app ONLY loads when I personally select the app myself?Covered in the settings section of the manual:
