Cfgrid within an html table... possible?
I'm trying to use an HTML table layout to "organize" several
components, one of which is an cfgrid... but nothing shows up, the
cfgrid doesn't populate. In fact, in the following example, only
the first row of the HTML table is painted in the browser.
here's a sample:

Using HTML table tags instead of panelGrid
Is is possible to avoid using the panelGrid component for table-based HTML layouts, and still take advantage of JSF functionality?
Basically, I have a reasonably complicated HTML layout using traditional <table> tags and don't really want to convert it to use the panelGrid component, largely because the latter doesn't seem to make it easy to precisely control inidividual cell dimensions/alignments etc. Can I still use JSF components within this table or do they have to be within a panelGrid?
My early experimentation hasn't been too promising. The table-based layout displays fine, but any attempt to put inputText components within the layout, simply displays them at the very top of the screen. Am I missing something fundamental?
Any help or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. I'm new to JSF and like what I've seen so far, but it would worry me if I was forced to use JSF tags for layout.

Multi page html table, by letter, then by number ... possible to handle nested queries?

Which requires a two-step solution:
1) to alter the query to use Number.ToText

In my example URL above (http://website_url/a-z/a/1), there is also a changing letter component /a-z/a/1, 2, 3, then /a-z/b/1,2,3 etc...
Is there an equivalent way of setting an {a..z} parameter as an outer loop and combine it with the {1..30} loop, by any chance?

ColumHere are two ways you can reduce the number of privacy prompts:
1) Use the trick Curt mentions here about reducing the number of prompts.
Basically, add a query that uses a formula like:
= {Web.Contents("http://website/"), Web.Contents("http://someOthersite/")}
Then, set the privacy level of http://website/ to Public. After saving the privacy level, you can discard the query.
2) You can enable Fast Combine, which will disable the privacy checks. I do not recommend this approach in general, and you should only enable Fast Combine if you are certain that you can trust your data sources. Also, be extremely cautious about enabling
Fast Combine on workbooks you did not create.
I recommend the first approach.
Sorry, I did not include the navigation and transformation steps in my approach above. To include those steps, it will be nicer to go with the two-step approach to prevent the last function in Websites from being too messy.
For the first step, we can create a function which, given a letter and a page number, grabs the data from the website and performs some transformations on it. It might look something like this:

Export to excel with javascript/vbscript or with plsql(html table)
i have searched for a way to export data from OracleXe to excel without losing formatting .
So far i have found 2 possible relatively easy ways that i am still researching
(i do not include the ask tom sylk format way of exporting )
1 to export the query to a html table, while using stylesheets for formatting
(using microsoft specific styles)
2. use of javascript/vbscript to fill an array and write this array to excel with use
of visual basic for applications in excel.This also provides charting capabilities.
I am still researching this two ways, and have
encountered a few obstacles (help would be appreciated)
1 the first way:
a. create a button " export to excel"
b. create the following pl/sql procedure:

a create a pl/sql procedure or sql query.

Can I insert an HTML Table tag inside a TreeTable (Hierarchical data) using AdvancedDataGrid as a value?

However, I am sure that there must be an easier way to do this such as using existing SAX/DOM/XSLT.. jars to retrieve these values quickly.

I have slowly weighing through 2 books - Learning XML by Erik T. Ray (http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/learnxml2/toc.html) and Java & XML by Brett D. McLaughlin & Justin Edelson (http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/9780596101497/toc.html) but would like to dwell into the relevant chapter and by pass anything else that is not relevant to my current in the XML area in order to fast track development.
I am new to XML and would very much appreciate if you could point to the area of specific to focus on getting this job done only.

i want to send a dynamic html table as an email
i am using php/mysql and have a mysql database
i have a dynaimc table contins some data from the database
i have a form with textbox to write the email in and a submit button
i want to send the the table (or the information in the table) when i submit the form
is that possible???

I have a requirement For XML Forms that I don´t know if possible, the requirement is that I can let the user create a HTML Table in a template generated by XML Forms, so he can include in the Content a HTML Table that is displayed with the elements he decided.

To Create HTML Tables in the XML Forms, use the HTML Editor from the Menu and Function bar. When the form is generated then tables can be created using this editor.

the main problem is the radio isn't in the table, it came before the table and show at the top of the table. Is if i use tomahawk tag, i must use datetable in JSF?

emmyWe have successfully used the Tomahawk radio component within a plain table using JSF 1.1 (MyFaces 1.1.5) and JSF 1.2 (the Sun RI 1.2_04). We also use facelets however and so did not use the verbatim tag.
Did you try looking at the component tree to see if it is in the correct order?
What implementation and version of JSF are you using?
Which version of Tomahawk?
Did you check the generated HTML to see if it is what you expect? -

Spry Master Detail from two HTML tables?
I'm trying to use two spry tables generated from html on the same page.I would like to set up an advaned master detail region where the "tbl_adrs" (contains Multiple addresses) references the "tbl_provider" (contains a provider name and the unique identifier 'ProNo'). Is this possible with spry data set from html tables? All examples reference spry tables from XML. If it is possible, here is the HTML to look at.

Auto Expand Html table when we paster data from Microsoft Excel sheet
hi,
I need copied data to my Html table.
Actual requirement is like that when i copy selected rows with selected columns from Microsoft excel sheet and press "ctlr v" on my jsp page then table on jsp must be auto expand as data in excel sheet.
Take an example.
I copy 4 rows with 3 columns from excel sheet.
I have JSP page with 1 row and 3 columns.
when i press "ctrl v" on first cell of my jsp table then table should be auto expand to accommodate 4 rows of excel sheet.
here i have some of the code which is near to this, this code just copy past only one row, but i need multiple rows.
If need then please refer below code and if possible then give me the solution to auto expand HTML table on JSP

Basically what we did was, use the getColumnCount() and getRowCount() methods, once you have these two numbers you can set two for loops and use String getValue(int ColID, int RowID) , within the for loops you can generate the inner html content and write the values either in a html table or html form (which is what we did). This seems to work well, I'm still playing around with it and may post this approach on sdn by end of this week.
