gmail… I can’t see the content when this message

Hi there,
The usual CSS syntax does not work in Flash. It has its own
stylesheet
syntax. Please visit the below URL that has "ColdFusion MX
Flash Form
Style Reference". You should find appropriate style syntax
there.
Go to
http://livedocs.macromedia.com/coldfusion/7/htmldocs/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm
Under "ColdFusion Reference" on the left side pane, you
should have an
item named "ColdFusion MX Flash Form Style Reference".
Thanks.

• Using CFmail with gmail

Hi, hope you can help me!
I'm running developer, and I'm having some big issues getting
cfmail to work. When I try to connect to gmail (smtp.gmail.com port
587) I get this:
This exception was caused by: javax.mail.MessagingException:
530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first w67sm2418843pyg .
And when I try smtp.mail.yahoo.com port 587, I get this:
This exception was caused by:
javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: Authentication Failed.
I have checked, checked and triple checked username and
password, and still can't get either of these to work. The STARTTLS
command seems to be a security issue with gmail, but I haven't
stumbled across any solutions in my forum searches.
Any help would be Hugely appreciated,
Here's the bare-bones code I'm using to test it
mcpiper

I've never heard of anyone who was able to get cfmail working
over SSL.
(A glaring omission Adobe!)
First go to
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
and file a bug report / feature request.
Then, this article talks about how to use CF with gmail's
server but it requires a $1000 library purchase:
http://www.roktech.net/devblog/index.cfm/2006/10/24/Cfmail-Google-Tools-For-Your-Domain-an d-SPAM
You can use Stunnel (
http://www.stunnel.org/) for
free but you need mad skilz to do so.
You can also probably gin something up with CFX_RawSocket and
a little work.

• Help with email content type HTML

Hi,
Following is my control file code for sending the email message (just putting the delivery part, and not the while content from control file):
<xapi:delivery>
<xapi:email server="${DCRD_SMTP_HOST}" port="${DCRD_SMTP_PORT}"
from="${CP_DCRD_ADMIN_EMAIL}"
reply-to="${CP_DCRD_ADMIN_EMAIL}">

<xapi:message id="123" to="${CF_DCRD_CONTACT_EMAIL}" cc="${CP_DCRD_ADMIN_EMAIL}" bcc="[email protected], [email protected]" attachment="true" content-type="html"
subject="Datacard Maintenance Agreement Number ${CONTRACT_NUMBER} ">${CF_FINAL_EMAIL_CONTENT}
</xapi:message>
</xapi:email>
</xapi:delivery>
The formula column CF_FINAL_EMAIL_CONTENT get populated with some html content based on condition. Now, when I get the email, the text from the formula column get printed as is.......with tags and all. It's like I had unformatted plain text email. I need the content to be formatted and I need different content based on a condition. Has anyone done this before?
Appreciate any help on this.
Thanks,
Alka

I finally could fix the issue by still using a formula column to store the html text and using the following in my control file (in bold):
<xapi:message id="123" to="${CF_DCRD_CONTACT_EMAIL}" cc="${CP_DCRD_ADMIN_EMAIL}" bcc="[email protected], [email protected]" attachment="true" content-type="text/html"
subject="Datacard Maintenance Agreement Number ${CONTRACT_NUMBER} "> *
${CF_FINAL_EMAIL_CONTENT}
*
</xapi:message>
Hope this would help someone clueless like me :-)

• CFMAIL (CF5) sends with many corrupted characters

I'm maintaining a system that sends out email mailings. The
same server hosts some Cf applications that also send out some
mails every once in a while. It has been working fine for a long
time. However, in the past few weeks, the server started sending
out the emails with many corrupted characters in them.
There is no error in the logfiles or something, but it seems
like when CF gets too busy sending emails, it starts sending memory
dumps in the mail or so.
What happens exactly is this. I send out mailings to about
10.000 people. It loops over a query that gets these people and
sends out one mail for every 100 persons with the code:
<CFMAIL from="#attributes.from#" to="#attributes.to#"
bcc="#attributes.addresses#" subject="#attributes.subject#"
type="HTML">
#mailcontent#
</CFMAIL>
the attribute 'addresses' contains a list of a 100 email
addresses.
In many cases, this works fine. Only when the server appears
to be quite busy, it sometimes sends out the mails like the example
below.

The code between the HTML tags is exactly as it should be ,
only mailclients don't understand this anymore and show the
complete HTML code as a text message.
This happens when I send out HTML mails, but when sending
text-emails, the very same happens sometimes.
It's running on CF5 on win2k.
I really hope that somebody can help me out!

In iTunes, select your Music Library (the first entry at the top left in the side bar)
Press cmd & A keys (Select All)
In the menu bar, go to Advanced > Convert ID3 tags. Click on "None" to reveal the choices available and choose version 2.4, then on click OK.
Note: this will not repair damaged accented characters on songs you have already played since updating to iTunes 7.7. You should correct these before updating the tags.

• Mail does not work properly with gmail

Hi everyone. I am a very recent switcher and the switching process was great and extremely easy, but there has only been one problem that I can't seem to solve. Getting Gmail to work with Apple Mail. I followed all the steps on gmail's website on, how to set up gmail for POP, and how to configure Apple Mail to work with gmail, but I still can't get it to download all my emails. It only downloads some old emails, marks them all as unread, and then doesn't act like I have any other emails(which I do). Under system preferences, I have the account type labeled as POP, the incoming mail server set to pop.gmail.com, my username and password set, and the smtp box set to smtp.gmail.com. Under server settings I have the server port at 587, the ssl box checked and the outgoing mail server as stmp.gmail, like I said before. Under the advanced tab of the accounts section of apple mail preferences, I have the account enable box checked, the include when automatically checking for new mail box checked, and down at the bottom, I have the port set at 995 with the ssl box checked. In gmail, under my forwarding and POP settings, I have it set, under the POP download section to: Enable POP for all mail(even mail that's already been downloaded). Also, the status is set to "POP is enabled for all mail that has arrived since 10/13/05(which was when i first got my gmail account). Like I said before, Apple Mail at first starting downloading all the mail in my gmail account and then stopped after about 1000 to 2000 messages which only got it to about mid-2006 or earlier. Yes, I've run software update recently, too. Does anyone know why it would not dowload the rest of my mail? All help is very greaty appreciated. Thanks.

I just put my gmail account in Apple Mail and it works fine - even transferring my old gmail messages. Maybe your problem is STORAGE - see this from Mail Help:
About .Mac Mail
.Mac Mail works with existing email clients like Mac OS X Mail, Outlook Express, and Netscape Communicator.
You can also check email when you're away from your own computer. All you need is a computer with an Internet connection and a supported web browser to check your .Mac Mail. To access .Mac Mail on the web using Mac OS X version 10.3 or later, use Safari 1.2 or later or Firefox 1.0.1 or later. If you're using Microsoft Windows XP, use Firefox 1.0.1 or later or Internet Explorer 6 or later.
Use POP or IMAP protocol to suit your working style and set up automatic email forwarding or replies.
Your email address is your .Mac member name followed by @mac.com, and the password for accessing email is the same as your member password.
Note: AOL recently added support for IMAP, so you can now read your AOL mail using Mac OS X Mail. You cannot use AOL's email program to read .Mac Mail messages directly, but you can set up your .Mac Mail account to forward email to your AOL account.
.Mac comes with 1 gigabyte (GB) of combined email and iDisk storage. .Mac trial members and email-only accounts get 50 megabytes (MB) of storage; Family Pack sub-accounts get 256 MB. You can designate storage space to your .Mac Mail account and your iDisk. For example, if you need more storage space for your email messages, you can set your .Mac Mail storage capacity to 800 MB and reserve 224 MB of storage for your iDisk. You can also increase your combined email and iDisk storage to a total of 2 GB or 4 GB by purchasing more storage. (If you have a trial account, email-only account, or Family Pack sub-account, you cannot increase your storage amount.)
Your .Mac Mail storage is automatically set to 512 MB unless you change it. You can't assign less than 15 MB of storage to your .Mac Mail account.
.Mac comes with 10 GB of data transfer per month and a 10 MB maximum message size. You can increase your monthly data transfer limit up to 250 GB per month by adding more storage space to your .Mac account. You can also purchase up to 10 additional email accounts. (Email-only accounts get 50 MB of storage space but no additional .Mac services, and Family Pack sub-accounts get 256 MB of storage space, but cannot purchase additional email accounts.)
If I had 2000 emails on my computer I would shut it down and never turn it on again.

• Importing HTML with Javascript

Hi folks,
I have multiple (but simple) HTML forms that need to be imported as they are. Basically, I want to avoid the work of editing each button's Javascript manually in Acrobat, so I have the form ready in HTML with some JavaScript. Each form button has an onClick event calling the function below. The form works well in a browser, but, unfortunately, when I try to import it, the Javascript embedded in the page header disappears and the buttons do not work as programmed.
Is there anyway to import the HTML *WITH* the Javascript?
Here is the embedded Javascript code (pretty simple):

Any help wuld be much appreciated.
Regards,
CodeChaser

As it has already been said, there are fundamental differences between HTML "documents" and PDF documents. This also applies to JavaScript. Acrobat JavaScript and web browser JavaScript have things in common, and that is called the "Core" (get Flanagan's JavaScript, the Definitve Guide, published by O'Reilly, and you will see very clearly what objects etc. are relevant, and what not. Also, the document object model in PDF and in HTML are fundamentally different. And the field events are fundamentally different as well (as there is no onClick event in PDF, but mouseUp is used for clicking.
What you can do, if you develop both, HTML forms and PDF forms, is to separate everything user interface-related from the raw (core) functions. The core functions can be used in either place, if their arguments are neutral, and you define them accordingly in your respective documents.
You also can create your HTML form, and then get it into Acrobat, using WebCapture. The fields will be created, as well as labels etc. You will nevertheless rename your fields, in order to make them usable. Adding JavaScript to the appropriate events will be rather simple and straightforward.
It would really be worthwile to have a closer look at the Acrobat JavaScript documentation (which is part of the Acrobat (X) SDK, downloadable from the Adobe website.
For heavy duty application, you might look at a rather high-end forms design tool, OneForm Plus by Amgraf, which does create PDF forms and HTML forms from the same document, and is pretty good when it comes to the look of the forms. It also creates back-end code which is used to process submitted data. It is then also possible to have hybrid workflows when data gets displayed in PDF, and in HTML in the subsequent step and vice versa.
Hope this can help.

• Iphone 4S with GMAIL / Changing from address.

Looking to see if it is possible to setup a GMAIL account with Iphone 4S and change the email address it sends from. I can setup the account just fine but the IPhone automatically changes the email address to the @gmail.com account after it saves.
The reason I want to use the exchange email option is that it synchs much faster the using Other/IMAP.
Any ideas would be apreciated.

I just learned how at Apple store today.
Set-up your gmail email account on iPhone as a Microsoft Exchange account type, NOT a Gmail.
Do not use a domain
When asked, after initial verify, enter the following for the server: m.google.com
I then deleted the other gmail email account I had set-up previously.
Works great for me!

• Possible to send pictures with Gmail & from Lightroom ?

I just read the trick to mail from Lightroom with a email client.
Is there any way to do the same with Gmail ( or any webmail ) ?
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Gilles.

Elements 5 does a very very nice job. I send pictures to a cousin who has a system that makes it difficult to retrieve attachments or even go to a web page to view my pictures. Elements can send an HTML email with the image embedded and it works perfectly for her and is so so easy for me. I have it use an Adobe server although you can use your own. I may be keeping Elements for that feature alone, sigh... I can't figure out another way to do this. I use Yahoo mail myself because it allows me to pick up my mail no matter where I am plus see my calendar etc. I can't figure out how to create such an email with yahoo mail myself.

• Printing HTML with Java Printing Service(JDK1.4 beta)

Hi there!
I'm currently checking out the new Java Printing Service (JPS) in the new JDK1.4 beta. This looks like a very promising printing API, with amongst others printer discovery and support for MIME types - but I have some problems with printing HTML displayed in a JEditorPane.
I'm developing an application that should let the user edit a (HTML)document displayed in a JEditorPane and the print this document to a printer. I have understood that this should be peace-of-cake using the JPS which has pre-defined HTML DocFlavor amongst others, in fact here is what Eric Armstrong says on Javaworld (http://www.javaworld.com/javaone01/j1-01-coolapis.html):
"With JPS, data formats are specified using MIME types, for example: image/jpeg, text/plain, and text/html. Even better, the API includes a formatting engine that understands HTML, and an engine that, given a document that implements the Printable or Pageable interface, generates PostScript. The HTML formatting engine looks particularly valuable given the prevalence of XML data storage. You only need to set up an XSLT (eXtensible Stylesheet Language Transformation) stylesheet, use it to convert the XML data to HTML, and send the result to the printer."
After one week of reasearch I have not been able to do what Armstrong describes; print a String that contains text of MIME type text/html.
I have checked the supported MIMI types of the Print Service returned by PrintServiceLookup.lookupDefaultPrintService(). This is the result:
DocFlavor flavor = DocFlavor.INPUT_STREAM.GIF;
PrintRequestAttributeSet aset = new HashPrintRequestAttributeSet();
aset.add(MediaSizeName.ISO_A4);
aset.add(new Copies(2));
PrintService[] service = PrintServiceLookup.lookupPrintServices(flavor,aset);
if (service.length > 0) {
System.out.println("Selected printer " + service[0].getName());
DocFlavor[] flavors = service[0].getSupportedDocFlavors();
for (int i = 0;i<flavors.length;i++) {
System.out.println("Flavor "+i+": "+flavors.toString());
Selected printer \\MUNIN-SERVER\HP LaserJet 2100 Series PCL 6

Flavor 9: application/x-java-jvm-local-objectref; class="java.awt.print.Pageable"
Flavor 10: application/x-java-jvm-local-objectref; class="java.awt.print.Printable"
As you can see there is no support for text/html here.
If anyone has a clue to what I'm missing here or any other (elegant, simple) way to print the contents of a JEditorPane, please speak up!
Reply to: [email protected] or [email protected] or here in this forum

Since you have 'printable' as one of your flavors, try this using a JTextPane (assuming you can dump your HTML into a JTextPane, which shouldn't be a big problem)...
1. Have your JTextPane implement Printable
ie. something like this:
public class FormattedDocument extends JTextPane implements Printable 2. Read your HTML into the associated doc in the text pane.
3. Implement the printable interface, since you have it as one of your available flavors (I'd imagine everybody has printable in their available flavors). Something like this:
public int print(Graphics g, PageFormat pf, int pageIndex) {
Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D) g;
g2.translate((int)pf.getImageableX(), (int)pf.getImageableY());
g2.setClip(0, 0, (int)pf.getImageableWidth(), (int)pf.getImageableHeight());
if (pageIndex == 0)
setupPrintView(pf);
if (!pv.paintPage(g2, pageIndex))
return NO_SUCH_PAGE;
return PAGE_EXISTS;
}Here's my setupPrintView function, which is executed once on page 0 (which still needs some polishing in case I want to start from page 5). It sets up a 'print view' class based on the root view of the document. PrintView class follows...
public void setupPrintView(PageFormat pf) {
View root = this.getUI().getRootView(this);
pv = new PrintView(this.getStyledDocument().getDefaultRootElement(), root,
(int)pf.getImageableWidth(), (int)pf.getImageableHeight());Note of obvious: 'pv' is of type PrintView.
Here's my PrintView class that paints your text pane line by line, a page at a time, until there is no more.
class PrintView extends BoxView
public PrintView(Element elem, View root, int w, int h) {
super(elem, Y_AXIS);
setParent(root);
setSize(w, h);
layout(w, h);
public boolean paintPage(Graphics2D g2, int pageIndex) {
int viewIndex = getTopOfViewIndex(pageIndex);
if (viewIndex == -1) return false;
int maxY = getHeight();
Rectangle rc = new Rectangle();
int fillCounter = 0;
int Ytotal = 0;
for (int k = viewIndex; k < getViewCount(); k++) {
rc.x = 0;
rc.y = Ytotal;
rc.width = getSpan(X_AXIS, k);
rc.height = getSpan(Y_AXIS, k);
if (Ytotal + getSpan(Y_AXIS, k) > maxY) break;
paintChild(g2, rc, k);
Ytotal += getSpan(Y_AXIS, k);
return true;
// find top of page for a given page number
private int getTopOfViewIndex(int pageNumber) {
int pageHeight = getHeight() * pageNumber;
for (int k = 0; k < getViewCount(); k++)
if (getOffset(Y_AXIS, k) >= pageHeight) return k;
return -1;
}That's my 2 cents. Any questions?

I'm unable to use the text type 'HTML' for the Channel 'Mail (Letter)' in mail forms, as a result of which fonts like arial and images like jpeg could not be used in mail forms created for letters.
Is there a way to use HTML type or to have more font options, insert JPEG images, tables etc in mail forms for letters?
Regards,
Kathir

In case, if you are using custom excel export functionality, you should use fileDownloadActionListener with in a button.
Here, you could specify the content type.
<af:commandButton text="Say Hello">
<af:fileDownloadActionListener filename="hello_txt"
contentType="text/plain; charset=utf-8"
method="#{bean.sayHello}"/>
</af:commandButton>For more details, check here:

Whenever I send an email, the person who receives it gets something that says References: and a long list on nonsense to do with Gmail before the actual message appears.
Here is an example....

It seems pretty clear to me.
When you turn off your primary account the only active account the phone can send via is your Gmail account, and that's what you're seeing.
The question is why do you need to turn off the primary account.. which you answer:
When that is set up as the primary server and turned on I get a message that says "the recipient was rejected by the server
That's because your ISP (megalink) is using access controls to manage who sends mail through their mail server. The first thing they're probably doing is using IP address restrictions - essentially saying they'll only relay mail from any machine on their network (including dialup/DSL/etc. customers), but you're not on their network, you're on an AT&T (or Verizon) 3G connection which isn't in their IP address range, and therefore not valid as far as their mail server is concerned.
The typical solution to this is authentication - by authenticating to their server (via username and password) you identify yourself as a customer and they should relay your messages. So check your phone to ensure that you have authentication enabled for your primary mail account.
If that fails (e.g. they don't support authenticated SMTP) the next option would be to relay the message through your cell provider's mail server - as an AT&T wireless customer you should be able to relay through AT&T's mail server... likewise for Verizon (or whatever national carrier your iPhone is on). You'll need to check with your carrier's site for the specifics of the mail server address to use.

How to avoid of dialog "Microsoft HTML Conversion" in MS Word 97 during Save As HTML with JACOB. Dialog has this type of content: This document contains characters that are not in the current language encoding. To preserve them, choose cancel and select the appropriate language encoding. For multilingual documents, use UTF-8.

It's not a JACOB issue, probably you have to direct your question to some Microsoft newsgroup (about Microsoft Word 97 automation using OLE/COM)

• Notes Application on Mountain Lion Won't Sync with Gmail

Within the past few weeks the new Notes application won't sync with my gmail account. I used to be able to type a note in Notes, and it would appear under the label "notes" as an email type memo in Gmail. All of the sudden this stopped working. Same with the Mail app, I can't sync IMAP with my Gmail accounts. This just started happening a few weeks ago.
