Cfpdfformparam help-formatting

hi all
so far, i am having fun with the new great cfpdform tags. What I ma stuck on something that may look simple but it is not working:
<cfpdformparam name="link_field" value="<a href='view.cfm?request_id=#request_id#'>#request_id#</a>">
link_field is the name of the filed i have in the pdf file and the value is what I am passing which is an html link.
When I open the pdf file in a browser, the filed "link_field" value shows as <a href='view.cfm?request_id=#request_id#'>#request_id#</a> and it is not like a link I can click on.
what do I need to do here?
thanks for any help,
ISM

Good day Kemahchick
I can see that you mark CELKO post as abusive, and I can understand that he give you a bad feeling maybe, but yet, other people did tried to help you, and this
is minimal polite behavior responding those people that tried to help you.
Moreover, you should close the thread in the end. I will close the thread now, assuming that you are not coming back. If this issue is still open then you can unmark the answers or just

Good day, and please close the threads next time

  • So What Now with Help Formats ???

Well... the launch of Vista and the death of Winhelp has
really shafted us... and I'm sure a lot of others too. Current
situation as I understand it is :
    1) Winhelp is dead.
    2) HTML Help is supported but is functionally inferior in the
    following ways :
    - Window position cannot be specified as a percentage of the
screen (pixels only) which is awkward for secondary windows as we
need to support everything from 1024x768 to 1920x1280.
    - Context sensitive help support is dreadful compared to
winhelp - no formatted text, bullets, graphics, hyperlinks, etc...
    - Microsoft refuse to allow CHM files to be launched over a
network so a server install is out (without a naughty registry
    hack).
    3) Webhelp is supported but rumoured to be on the way out in
terms of Robohelp support. Is this true ? Its also extremely clunky
to ship with software due to number of files and, AFAICS, offers no
context sensitive help functionality. I guess we could get round
the former by using .MHT files but reasonable support for context
    sensitive help is a must.
    4) The Windows Vista Help directory seems to use 'h1s' files.
What on earth is this ? For sure Vista has nicely formatted Context
Sensitive Help but how ? Is this the new, much publicised MS Help
    format ?
Basically, we need a sensible single file help system for the
app and context sensitive help with hyperlinks & formatting.
Anybody have suggestions on what the trend is here - is there even
a single format solution for what must be a common applications
    requirement ?
Are Adobe planning their own Winhelp support now that MS have
    ditched it ?
Are MS planning a new Help System ?
    Thanks,
    Iain.

I find it fascinating that Microsoft distributes winhelp.exe
    (16-bit
WinHelp) as part of Vista but stubbornly refuses to
    distribute winhlp32.exe
(32-bit WinHelp). Apparently Microsoft still needs/wants to
    use WinHelp
popups so they're keeping the 16-bit WinHelp executable as
    part of Vista.
So now here's my question... Robohelp has its own .dll
    (RoboEx32.dll) that
it allows us to distribute. My understanding is that this is
    what allows us
to have the tripane view. Having been mostly away from help
    development for
the last several years but about to enter the fray again,
    what happens if I
develop a RoboHelp Help2000 project and load project.hlp,
    project.cnt and
the RoboHelp .dll file onto a Vista machine (which only has
    winhelp.exe)??
    Does this work?
    Thanks

  • Web vs Win vs Win Help formats

right now we want to create the classic chm file,
but when would we want to create the other Help file formats? our
application runs on Won OS, including Vista, the RH help is not
    clear about this

    Hi,
Yes, definitely HTML Help in preference to WinHelp. In fact,
the WinHelp engine (winhlp32.exe) doesn't even ship with Vista and
Windows Server 2008, although anyone wanting to view .hlp files can
still get it from the Microsoft Download Center. Here is a
Microsoft Knowledge Base article on the subject:
"The Windows Help (WinHlp32.exe) program is no longer
included in Windows operating systems starting with Windows Vista"
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917607
WinHelp 2000 is a dressed-up version of WinHelp that the
makers of RoboHelp introduced in the very early days of HTML Help,
at a time when not all Windows computers were equipped with the
components required to view HTML Help files. The idea was to
deliver something that looked roughly like HTML Help but had a more
readily achievable set of system requirements. This format is still
essentially WinHelp, however, so it suffers from the same issues as
far as running on Vista is concerned.
For the time being, Microsoft continues to recommend HTML
Help as the most appropriate help format for Windows applications.

The problem of losing power when running the drive, is that the needle may scratch part of the drive as it lands on the platter. Sufficient power may pick it up, but it may have permanently damaged the drive. I would get the drive itself replaced.

  • Need help formatting external hard drive for OS 10.5.8.

My older 2007 iMac is running on OS 10.5.8. I purchaed Snow Lepoard but was told to back up years of music and pictures. I bought an external hard drive that is compatible with Mac OS 10.6. How do I format the external hard drive to accept OS 10.5.8.? Showing error code -43....? HELP PLEASE!

How is the current EHD formatted?

  • PHP need help formating date, please.

I am working on my first database page using repeating fields
    and a
connection to MySQL, and actually have it working! Yay!
Now I have a formatting problem, and would appreciate a bit
    of help.
The first column of the repeating field is a date field,
    which is stored
as a date type in mysql, and shows up in my table as
    2008-03-12 (which
is how it was entered into the table). I would like to change
    the
display to March 12, 2008. I have tried using the date
    function, but
without success. The text that php is putting in the cell is
"2008-03-12", which I am guessing is not a valid timestamp. I
    am also
guessing that this is why I get a date in 1969 when I try
    this...
    The page is here:

Thanks to anyone that takes the time to look!

  • None scrolling header in CHM help format

    Hi there.
I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with another query i've got.
I'm creating a help file in a CHM format.
I've seen some other help files in the same format, and they have a header that is unique to each page, that doesn't scroll with the rest of the content.
In the header, I would include the page title, and probably the breadcrumbs.
    How can I achieve this?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Craig

    Hi there
Yep, I'd avoid using that in a header for the very reasons you have discovered.
Perhaps add it to the top of each topic but NOT in the header proper. Also, I'm assuming you are using a Field for this. You will want to ensure you clear the "auto-update" option. If you don't, the topic will automatically update if you just open it to view it and make no changes.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Help formatting a play script (people talking) with Pages.

How can I write a play script with certain formats. This is what I want to do:
Person 1: Make it work like this. I want the dialog to wrap around like this
................Like this. So it stays even with the line above. I do not want to
................use the space bar to make it look like this.
Yeah, could someone help me use pages formatting to make it look like that, without using the space bar. Thanks. I had to use periods because the message board would change the spacing.

This is called a *hanging indent* .
    +Menu > View > Show Ruler+
Select the paragraph you want to format.
On the ruler there is a blue flat bar stacked on top of a down pointing triangle. The triangle sets the left indent, ie how far in the paragraph aligns from the left edge. The flat bar sets where the *first line* of the paragraph starts.
Drag the 2 together in as far as you like. Next drag the flat bar back to the left edge.
Type "Person 1: tab Make it work like this…"
It will now wrap back with the left inset, until you hit the return again which will be the start of a new paragraph and then aligns back to the far left. The tab pushes the text after "Person 1:" into line with the rest of the paragraph.
To have a *line break* that does not cause a paragraph end, use a *"soft return"* which you get by typing the shift + return keys.
Or you can make a 2nd style that has no hanging indent for paragraphs that follow the original "Person 1:"
Save these as styles and you can set an +f key+ to switch between them.

  • I need help. (format for DB Connect String and Parameters)

I do not understand the DB Connect String
    or the Other Parameters
in the DB Connect String whats the format
Can someone point to some help for using
the Oracle Reports Paper Report Tester

    Hello,
DB Connect String : Like for other tools (SQL*Plus / ..; ) provide a string like
    user/password@dbalias
Other parameters : if you have created parameters in your Reports, you can specify their value here.
Example : a parameter P_PARAM is defined in your Reports, you can set the value of "Other parameters" :
    P_PARAM=my_value

  • Help formatting data into 3d surface

    Hi Folks,
I'm struggling trying to display some data in a 3d plot. I'v studdied the example here but am getting no where! http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=433150&query.id=1242328#M433150
Basically the data I'm interested in viewing is a 2d array. Each row in the record represents a size bin (52 total rows). Each of these rows is divided into discrete scatter angle bins (16 total columns). SO, each element represent a relative light intensity, at a discrete angle, at a particlar size.
    I don't understand how a 2d dataset gets correlated into X,Y,and Z matrix formats.
    Any pointers?
    Regards,
    Jamie

Thanks for the reply. I did have a look at that example, but unfortunately it isn't of much help. I'll continue to mess with it, but it easily obscures (I think) the principals of data formatting requirements for 3d plot by an overwhelming amount of data points. ie I have no idea what point is what on that plot, where it should be....etc
I honestly don't know what expect with my dataset - I basically just want to visualize several 1d arrays over 'time' ('time' being the bin sizes). I thought there would some sort of easier way to go about this, but the 3dplot is all I could find.
    Cheers,
    Jamie
100 data points in a 3d graph is small.
I suggest you change one of the values and re-run it to see which point you changed. Repeat with other points until you figure it out.
If 100 points is too many, empty the array and put your own data in to start.

  • Help formatting!!!!!

My Ipod used to be formatted to windows. I just moved and now have a Mac, but my Ipod isn't formatted to it, so I can't upload or do anything to it. Can someone please help me and tell me how to format my windows Ipod to a Mac? Thanks a lot!!!!

To format a Windows iPod for Mac connect it to your Mac computer and restore it. Restoring will erase and reformat the the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists choose no and it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

  • A litttle help formatting output from powershell?

Hi all, I am working on a software inventory project and am (as will become obvious) a novice at powershell.  I have the script running so I get what I need, but the formatting is borderline un-useable.  I would like to see if anyone can point
me in the direction of creating one or two of the following: a single, collated file of all installed programs on all computers in the OU, filtered for duplicates (ie, only unique entries, not 37 instances of Office 2010 Service Pack 2), and/or an excel worksheet
with a page for each pc in the OU, and the list of installed programs on each page.  This is what I have so far:
    $rtn = $null
    Get-ADComputer -filter '*' -searchbase 'ou=levy chd, dc=doh,dc=ad,dc=state,dc=fl,dc=us'|
    ForEach-Object {
    $rtn = Test-Connection -CN $_.dnshostname -Count 1 -BufferSize 16 -Quiet
    IF($rtn -match 'True') {write-output $_.name | out-file C:\chd38computers_ping=true.csv -Append }
    ELSE { write-output $_.name | out-file C:\chd38computers_ping=false.txt -Append }
    $computers = Import-Csv "C:\chd38computers_ping=true.csv"
    foreach($obj in $computers){
    Get-WmiObject -Class win32reg_addremoveprograms | Select DisplayName,Publisher,Version,Installdate | Sort Publisher -Descending| Export-Csv d:\installed_apps.csv -append
Thanks in advance for the help!
    adam

To filter out duplicates, you can use the -unique switch for Select here:
    Get-WmiObject -Class win32reg_addremoveprograms | Select DisplayName,Publisher,Version,Installdate -unique | Sort Publisher -Descending| Export-Csv d:\installed_apps.csv -append
To manipulate excel file from Powershell you will need to use New-Object -ComObject "Excel.Application". I'd add the result of each computer into an array and then use the ComObject to add the content to a new sheet. You can read more here:

  • Macbook pro found/need help formatting

Hi, new here and in need of help.
I recently found a macbook pro whilst on holiday in mexico city, after every effort to find the owner i had no luck and rather than let the ticket seller of the tourbus i was on be the proud new owner i inherited it. My question is this, with only the macbook is it possible to format it and start fresh without any of the software, also everything is in spanish, is it a spanish macbook or can i set it up so it is in English. Im really just looking for some advice and guidance and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you call Apple and the bus company and give them the serial number. The owner might be trying to find it. How would you feel if you lost it?
