Cfpop falls over with attachments with %'s in the name

Hi there,
We are running CF 7.02 MX on a Windows 2003 Server.
We have a scheduled process that runs which collects mail
using cfpop, modifies it and forwards it on.
If any of the downloaded mails contains an attachment with an
unusual character in it's name e.g..
AFU%image.JPG
..then the task falls over and doesn't complete. I've had a
look in the application logs and this is accompanied by entries
like...
"The resource D:\codepath\htdocs\attachment\
AFU%imge.JPG was not found.The root cause was: . The
specific sequence of files included or processed is:
D:\wwwroot\website\wwwroot\schedule\schedtask.cfm, line: 1254 "
Notice the % seems to have got it confused as to what the
attachment name is. It seems to have lost the "
a" somehow. So the failure is simply down to the fact that,
having confused itself over what the filename actually is, it can
no longer find the true path to the file.
If the attachments dont contain odd characters it works fine.
Any ideas? We're really struggling.
What I'm after is a workaround or a solution to the
corruption of the filename since I'm guessing if it keeps the
filename intact then all will be well (as it will still be able to
find the file).

Can you drag and drop the attachments visible in the email to the Desktop OK or does that fail ?
Re the sending: Are these recipients on Mac's or PC's as the file type could be an issue, if on Mac's then try setting the Mail Preferences Composing setting to Plain Text not Rich Text and see if that improves things.

Query on SOAP with attachments with Weblogic

Hi all,
I'm new to webservice and workshop, and I have to develop a webservice using bea workshop to be able to process multiple files and store it on a document server. I suppose that the webservice clients will be able to formulate their request in the form of SOAP messages with attachments(documents to be stored), but I'm not sure whether this is the best method and weblogic(8.1) supports it.
Currently I have created a jws file which has successfully connected and been authenticated by the Document server, so for my next step, I'm trying to create a new file in the document server but I'm stuck at trying to write code to get attachment from the SOAP message in the jws file. Can anyone enlighten me?

Problem with SCs that created before the Name Server was configured

Hello,
I have created an SC and developed it.
When I created it, the Name Server wasn't configured and because of that, when I created new DC for this SC I needed to write the vendor manually. Lets assume I wrote example.org.
Sometime after I did configured the Name Server and I reserved example.org as a namespace prefix.
When I create new SC and new DCs in it everything is OK: Instead of writing example.org as my vendor I can choose from a combo box between sap.com and my own which is example.org.
The problem arises with the SC that has been developed before the Name server was configured: If I create new DC for it the vendor is shaded with sap.com inside with no option to change it, even though the previous DCs for this SC were created under the vendor example.org (which I entered manually).
I assume I can (with a lot of manual work) create new SC and move the DCs (or only their code) to the newly created SC, where I have the option to choose, but I am looking for more simpler solution. For example, changing a certain configuration file at the SC or so.
Anyone has an idea?

I cannot open password protected PDF document with attachments with Adobe Reader on OS X. Crashes.

I cannot open password protected PDF document having attachments on my OS X (v 10.8.4) with Adobe Reader X nor XI. The reader crashes. The same document using the same password opens fine on the laptop and Windows systems wheni it is fetched from a secure mail server. Why?

Mail: Why do some emails, sent with attachments, not appear in the Sent category

Occasionally I will send an email to four different addressees. The email contains an attachment in pages format, word format and pdf formal. Though it is sent and though it is received by at least one of those to whom it is addressed, it does not appear as sent, in the Sent Mailbox. Why is this and what can be done to get all sent emails to appear as Sent?

How do I get an email to come to my Ipad 2 as an attachment. The pictures I receive are open when I receive them.

Who's sending the pictures? If they are sent embedded in the email, then they come opened. If they are sent as an attachement, they should come as a downloadable attachement. Depends on how it is sent to you.

Email will not send to email address with a full stop within the name as it drops the last name ie jim.smith@.... changes to jim@....

I am trying to reply or send a email to a email address that has a full stop in the username ie [email protected] When the email sends it drops the surname ie [email protected] I have checked the address from the reply and it is correct even if I type it in it still has the same issue. Functionality to send email with attachments.(all types ot attachments)

Hi experts,
I have an requirement to modify the existing workflow to include the new part/functionality to send the email with attachments.
I mean, the existing workflow is sending only the notification as of now, the new requirement was i need to add the new functionalaity such a way the email functionality needs to be enabled so that the receiver who is receiving the notification will also get the email as well along with the attachments.
Note* Attachment could be of any types like pdf,tex,word etc...
Please suggest will it be possible to achieve this functionalites?
Any sample code will be a great help for me.

You can send attachments in email notification by defining message attributes of type document. Oracle Workflow supports document types called "PL/SQL" documents, "PL/SQL CLOB" documents, and "PL/SQL BLOB" documents.

I have successfully followed the instructions for using Oracle BPEL 10.1.3.4 to handle SOAP With Attachments with an RPC-style WSDL, detailed here:

I have a simple Echo service that receives and attachment and responds with the same attachment.
I actually would like to accomplish the same thing using a Doc/Literal Wrapped WSDL. My initial testing shows that BPEL can indeed receive the attachment ( I can see it in the dehydration store), but it is not added to the response.
Is this possible using Doc/Lit with SwA in BPEL 10.1.3.4?

As I've investigated the issue some more, I've found that the real issue is receiving an attachment on the SOAP response from the BPEL process. Using a Doc/Lit-Wrapped WSDL, I can receive a request with an attachment, and add it to outgoing requests successfully. But when I do a straight copy from the request message to the response message (Echo Service), the response contains the correct "href" attribute but there is no attachment, and moreover, no MIME multipart message is returned.
NOTE: I was successful in using an RPC/Literal WSDL to accomplish the successful echo of the attachment.
Also, when looking in the OPMN logs, I see the following line for the RPC-based BPEL process, but not for the Doc/Lit:

BPEL 11g SOAP with Attachments

Does anyone have any examples utilizing SOAP with Attachments with BPEL 11g?
I have previously worked with SwA in BPEL 10g, but I have not been able to successfully port my BPEL projects to 11g. I am able to send in an attachment without error, but the outgoing requests and/or responses do not contain the attachment as they should.
Note: I am trying to use traditional SOAP with Attachments (hrefs) and not MTOM

Export emails to a rtf with attachments

I wish to export my emails as rtf with attachments with the titles as filenames so that I can view them as required on both PCs and Macs. without having to use email clients.
How can I do this? The save as function just creates gibberish when read with a text reader.

Which text editor did you use? Not all text editors read RTF.
I just tried moving an .rtfd with attachments saved from Apple Mail to Windows XP. It looked fine in Windows, showing up as a folder with the mail message as RTF inside and the attachments next to it.
As expected, the Mail RTF looked fine in Windows in Microsoft Word and WordPad, and was gibberish in Notepad, because Notepad does not support RTF...it is a pure text-only editor.

Cannot send gmail with attachments v5.3

Recently I have been unable to send any email (gmail) with attachment of any size or format, Mail tries for a few seconds and then I get a pop up to say unable to send with the server Gmail. Never had a problem before, I have tried to resend some emails with attachments but these get the same response.
Have tried a different Browser, have tried sending direct from Gmail but all the same. Have rebuilt, have run 'Maintenance' but nothing still, I am getting to the point of hair pulling.
Oh, 'Connection Doctor' shows no problems, file size is immaterial, I have changed no settings in Mail or Gmail.
Am running 10.7.5 Lion on my imac wit mail 5.3.
Any ideas? Please be detailed with any replies because although I am not a newbie I am certainly not a Apple Genius!!!!!!

What size attachments have you tried to send? Also have you tried connecting to a Wi-Fi network to send the emails? Also what type of attachments have you tried to send?
Usually if you get a clock beside any message, it means the message is awaiting a data connection from your network service provider.

Opening .jpg with "Open with" command after installing PSE 8.0

Can anyone tell me how to get PSE 8.0 to appear in the list of available programs (using Vista) when right clicking on a photo? All my previous versions of PSE (6.0, 7.0) have appeared in the list. While Photoshop Premiere elements is there, since I installed PSE 8.0 and uninstalled PSE 7.0, I cannot right click on a photo and open it into PSE 8.0. I've tried resetting default programs and adding to the list but it simply doesn't appear. I don't know if something on installation glitched, though the program works fine- except I cannot open a photo into it without going into the program, and then going to OPEN, which is tedious. I've never had this problem before and much is different in PSE 8.0, so I don't know if its me, my computer or something in the program?
Any ideas? I've tried everything I can think of, including trying ot make it the default program but it won't do that either.

I had the same problem on my WinXP Pro SP3 with PSE8. Windows would not let me add PSE 8 to the Open with list of any file extension. I could use Chose Program, navigate to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 8.0\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe" and select it, but it would not be put into the Open with list. Same behaviour when I went from the explorer file extension list.
I finally found out that in the registry, there were old entries left from PSE 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 in key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\. While in PSE 3, 4, 6 and 7, the executables contained the version in their names (like Photoshop Elements 7.0.exe), PSE 5 and PSE 8 are both called PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe. This ambiguity led to Windows not adding PSE 8 in the Open with list. This only started with version 8, since before the names of the executables were all unique.
By investigating this I found out that there were leftovers from PSE 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 all over the registry, although I always uninstalled properly .
It took me quite a while cleaning this mess up.
Note: Do not alter your Windows Registry unless you know exactly what you are doing and have taken a backup of your system before!
