Cftextarea with script tags

I posted this question on the FCKeditor forum and got no reply. Hoping someone here in the CFusion forum may have insight!
We have used the FCKeditor in our CMS for years and now that CF 8 includes this as its rich text editor, we are using the version that came with CF 8 (v2.5 build 17352) instead of a separate instance.
We are having problems when including any script tags within the text area.
After content is saved to the dbase and the page reloads, the editor is no longer visible and the content that *should* display within the editor area displays at the top of the page.
Also, when content is saved, all special character encoding (e.g., ™) is lost and is replaced with question marks.
We did not have this same problem using previous versions of FCKeditor.
Is there a setting we have incorrect? Or does FCKeditor not support script tags within the cftextarea?
Thanks in advance for insight!
jLynn

Thanks for the reply Craig!
Of note: Firebug tells me the error is an 'unterminated string literal'
Following is what ColdFusion automatically generates in the head portion of the document when rendering the page. Looks like the error is in the intialization but I can't see what the error is.
<script type="text/javascript">
_cf_richtext_init_1245775594721=function()
ColdFusion.RichText.initialize('cf_textarea1245775594720', 'body', '<script type="text/javascript"><br> alert("hello world");<br></script>
', '/CFIDE/scripts/ajax/FCKeditor/', null, 400, null, null, null, null, false, 'articleBody', null, null, 'en');
};ColdFusion.Event.registerOnLoad(_cf_richtext_init_1245775594721);
</script>
===================
And this is the form generated:
<form name="articleEdit" id="articleEdit" action="index.cfm?" method="post" onsubmit="return _CF_checkarticleEdit(this)">
<textarea name="body"  id="cf_textarea1245775594720" cols="100" rows="5" ><script type="text/javascript">
alert("hello world");
</script>
</textarea>
</form>

  • MDS, Script Editor WebPart does not load javascript files with script tag

    Hello everyone,
    I have MDS and I would like to use some custom Javascript inside of a script editor web part in a page of my site.
    When I add the references to the libraries I need in the Script Editor Web Part SharePoint is smart enough to disable MDS on that page.
    I would like to be able to load external libraries inside of my Script Editor Web Part (without using ScriptLink or anything that would require the edition of the masterpage) but still using the added value of MDS.
    Can I use SOD for that? What would be the best pattern? Could you provide a simple example?
    Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi,
    Per my knowledge, including CSS and JavaScript files using HTML style and script tags is not supported in MDS(Minimal Download Strategy).
    We can refer the custom JavaScript file in the .aspx page or master page using ScriptLink control.
    <SharePoint:ScriptLink language="javascript" name="custom_javascript.js" runat="server" />

  • Does Firefox 4 not allow you to append script tags with external/local sources?

    Hello,
    I am trying to use JSONP to append a <script> tag with an external source (and local)... The page I am trying to append is a valid JSON file, and the script worked fine in Firefox 3, and still works fine in Safari 5 and Internet Explorer 8... So it leads me to believe that Firefox 4 has closed the security hole that allowed me to do this.
    The code I am using is:
    $.jsonp({
    url: "http://localhost/All.json",
    callback: "callback",
    success: function(data) {
    alert("Success");
    complete: function(xOptions, textStatus) {
    alert("Complete");
    error: function(xOptions, textStatus) {
    // This will be called in case of error no matter the callback name
    });

    When debugging with Firebug it says this inbetween the <script> and </script> tags:
    Failed to load source for: http://localhost/All.json?_1300977243502=

  • How to using the script tag in uix/jsp?

    Do i have to write in uix/jsp:
    <uix:rawText>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function doCheckForm()
    </script>
    </uix:rawText>
    Or exists another tag that handles the javascripts without the "rawText" script?
    Marc

    If you are declaring a function, you dont need to add it under the rawText tag. It can be added with a simple script tag at the top of the page.

  • Execution of python  scripts through script tag

    I have one line in my xml file :
    script language="jython" src="scripts/setup.py"/>
    but when i am running this file as ant script file,it is saying that it cannot find the script tag..
    It is giving this error:
    Ant could not find the task or a class this task relies upon.
    This is common and has a number of causes; the usual
    solutions are to read the manual pages then download and
    install needed JAR files, or fix the build file:
    - You have misspelt 'script'.
    Fix: check your spelling.
    - The task needs an external JAR file to execute
    and this is not found at the right place in the classpath.
    Fix: check the documentation for dependencies.
    Fix: declare the task.
    - The task is an Ant optional task and optional.jar is absent
    Fix: look for optional.jar in ANT_HOME/lib, download if needed
    - The task was not built into optional.jar as dependent
    libraries were not found at build time.
    Fix: look in the JAR to verify, then rebuild with the needed
    libraries, or download a release version from apache.org
    - The build file was written for a later version of Ant
    Fix: upgrade to at least the latest release version of Ant
    - The task is not an Ant core or optional task
    and needs to be declared using <taskdef>.
    Kindly let me know how can i execute this script..

    the discussion of the timed maintenance is an old one and does no longer apply.
    Sure it does.  Those scripts are ancient carry-overs from the early days of Unix and have not been changed much since then.
    Also, macjack has a good point.  Verify what the widget is telling you.  Paste the following command into the Terminal to find out when they last ran:
    ls -al /var/log/*.out
    The output on my machine is:
    Hyperion:~ thomas$ ls -al /var/log/*.out

  • New MVC with Standard Tags and DB sample

    I have posted initial build of a new learning application on
              SourceForge "basicPortal" under CVS
              http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/basicportal/basicportal
              It is using Struts with Standard Tags and X: Transform from DB, Realm
              base security, CURD, etc. etc. I have big plans for this, to be 20% of
              code that gets used 80% of time and "faces" and expression language
              compliant.
              (Err.. this build is not for newbies, but I will update it .... a lot
              and often.)
              To keep up on this and related topics, there is a mail list
              http://www.netbean.net/mailman/listinfo/mvc-programmers
              that also gets you password to other baseBeans.com features.
              and a newsgroups readers news.baseBeans.com.
              Hope you like,
              Vic C.

    Looking at the XFILES.5.xml file and Install.vbs files of the XFILES installer, it appears that the XDBPM_SUPPORT and XFILES_DBA_TASKS actions will only be run if you enter a SYSDBA user in the "DBA User" field of the installer. However, for some reason, Oracle seems to have commented out the command that checks to ensure that the DBA user you entered is a SYSDBA user, and the "DBA User" field defaults to SYSTEM, which is not a SYSDBA user. Since I got things working I haven't tried rerunning the installer with a SYSDBA user, but maybe it will work better. The installation documentation and/or the installation scripts need to be updated to reflect the need for a SYSDBA user.
    Regarding the APEX version of XFILES, this has not installation instructions whatsoever, and there are prerequisite steps to get this to install correctly as well. I tried importing the f102.sql file into APEX and it failed on the prereq validation because an "XFILES/Apex" folder wasn't found in XML DB. I went looking for anything that creates this directory and I found that there is another XFILES_DBA_TASKS.sql script specifically for the APEX version. It is included in the f102.sql file. So I cut and paste the contents into SQL*Plus and ran it as SYS. I was then able to install the f102 application.

  • Script tags in text component

    Is there a way to for script tags to be allowed when pasting html code in the text component using the source edit view. When I paste script tags, they are removed when I click OK.

    I don't believe there is a reliable way to use the source edit to paste in javascript.
    Generally if I have this kind of requirement where author's need the ability paste in raw code (javascript, CSS, or markup) I will create a custom component for this that uses a text area widget rather than a rich text editor. If all I want to allow for is savascript I will have component's JSP print out the wrapping script tags, therefore preventing an author from using the component to print out unauthorized markup/styling.
    Obviously there is a risk to giving author's this level of control - you give them the ability violate brand and style standards and the ability to break a page (with either bad markup/styling or javascript errors).

  • Deploying applications with grid tags

    developing with WLS 8.1 on Windows then deploying to WLS 8.3 on Solaris...
    Everything deploys fine when migrating my workshop application from development to a test single-domain server. And the DBControls against a MySQL database work fine. However, data returned (relational) to a grid (netui data bindings) object never gets returned or displayed. No idea why. Must be either something in the config.xml that is missing or a bug when deploying from 8.1 to 8.3 on different OSs.
    Any clues???
    / Matthew

    another thing...
    Same problem happens with repeater tags (another netui-databinding). Yet using the select tag (netui) data returned via a pageflow reference from a DBControl:er is returned without problems. Checked the WEB-INF/lib directory to make sure the netui-tar-databinding.jar was present. It is. And the tld package is also there.
    Also, took the build Ant xml file used to generate the single-server on Solaris and ran it on my Windows machine. Deployed the application (ear) and data is returned into grid tags. Must be some setup difference or missing jar file.
    When generating a single-server I use the setWLSEnv.cmd/sh script to setup environment variables and to run the server the startWeblogic.cmd/sh which are pre-made.
    Get one error on the Solaris instance which doesn´t appear when running on Windows. The WLW says there is an unknown database found ("databas name = MySQL, database driver name = MySQL-AB JDBC Driver"). Not sure why this error is logged since the non netui-data tags like select can return data from the underlying MySQL connection.

  • Script tag appears automatically

    Hi,
    We are developing a Web applciation using JSP & Struts. We are using Websphere as the server.
    We have a place where XML file should be displayed. But XML file structure is not coming ..only the data is displayed as a piece of junk. When i pressed View Source of that page I saw that <Script>
    tag was displayed with some value for document.cookie which we never wrote.This appears in all the screens .
    I am not having this problem when i run the application with my local server. Im sure that its something to do with the server configuration. Waht should be the problem? Can someone please help me in this regard.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    I think you can do this by standard.
    1. Order Management - >Setup-> Shipping->Picking -> Define Release rule form.
    You can setup this rule to pick and confirm. And after this you can schedule this rule Order Management - > Shipping->Release sales order ->Release sales order SRS
    2.You have sample without confirm. http://www.shareoracleapps.com/2011/02/wshpickingbatchespubreleasebatch.html . Look also Pick Release Batch generation

  • Problem: ()[]{} invisible inside the script-tag

    Hi there,
    This morning I realised I had some strange problem with my Dreamweaver CS4. The brackets ()[]{} are somehow invisible inside the script-tag. I know they are still there, because they execute correctly and when I copy a codefragment with some (of the now invisible) brackets to another text-editor, they are there again.
    Let me give a short example:
    // Brackets are visible in DW   ()[]{} These are visible, tooI can see the "bla", but NOT the brackets before and after it. ()[]{} These here are visible again.
    So you see, brackets are somehow made invisible inside the script-tag, and I'd like to know how to make them visible again.
    Here's what I tried so far (everything without success):
    - restart Dreamweaver
    - restart PC
    - check the options menu (didn't find anything for this problem)
    - hide/show the script-tag using dreaweaver's feature for this.
      Intresting point here: when the part where the brackets are, are collapsed it shows me "()[]{}[..." as a preview. So even Dreamweaver "knows" the brackets are there, but still refuses to show them -_-
    - set the gui setting from "coder" to "classic" and back.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks in advance, really need to solve this, since I am using alot of hardcoded 2-dimensional javascript arrays and therefore alot of []
    Best regards
    Michael

    Sorry for doubleposting, I should have read the manual for posting code :|
    here's the code I was giving as an example:
    <title>brackets work fine here: ()[]{}</title>
    <style type="text/css">
    .someclass {background:url(theseBracketsAreVisible.png)}
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    <div>()[]{} these are visible as well</div>
    <script language="javascript">()[]{}[bla]</script> I can see the "bla", but NOT the brackets before and after it.
    ()[]{} These here are visible again.
    </body>
    Sorry again..
    edit:
    I realised it hides words like "function" aswell o_O
    <script language="javascript">
    function test() {ar = new Array;ar = ["a","b","c"];alert(ar);};
    </script>
    The code above is visible for me in Dreamweaver like this:
    <script language="javascript">
    test ar =  Array;ar = "a","b","c";alertar;;
    </script>
    really strange..

    Whenever I edit the file at /JavaScripts/angular/angular-formly-master/dist/formly.js using VS2013 and save it SharePoint replaces my script tag with this:
     <script src="/JavaScripts/angular/angular-formly-master/dist/formly.js~RF322607.TMP" type="text/javascript"></script>

    Hi Russell_G,
    Actually this forum is to discuss the VS IDE, to really repro this issue, I'm afraid that it would require the high SharePoint development knowledge, but based on your previous

    You can submit this feedback to Microsoft Connect feedback portal: http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/CreateFeedback.aspx,Microsoft

    Hi Russell,
    According to your description, there is an issue when editing a .js file which is saved in a document library of your developer site.
    This is what I have done in my environment:
    1. Create a Document Library “JavaScripts” with the sub folders and formly.js file as you did;
    2. Create a custom list, a custom edit form “editform2.aspx” for it;
    3. Edit the “editform2.aspx” in SharePoint Designer 2013, reference the formly.js file like this in the “PlaceHolderAdditionalPageHead”:
    4. Edit the formly.js file in SharePoint Designer and save, repeat the process several times;
    It turns out that the “src” attribute of the script tag stays unchanged.
    To narrow down the issue, I would suggest you create another custom edit form for that list and test again to see if the issue still exists.
    Feel free to reply if there any progress.
