Change default folders in contacts and add a contact!?

Hi!
I can create a "newFolder" under contacts so far so good :-)
I can read the Folders with get "Folders".... so i become all Folders under contacts...
Now i will write in my "newFolder" a new contact...
But i can only write in the Default Folder... :-(
How can i Change form the Default contact Folder to my own Folder "newFolder" so that i can write a new contact in this Folder?

Hello Bernd,
You can use the Parent property of the default folder to access the parent folder object and add your own folder there.
The Namespace class provides the
Stores property which returns a Stores collection
object that represents all the Store objects
in the current profile. The Store class provides the
GetDefaultFolder method which returns a Folder object
that represents the default folder in the store and that is of the type specified by the FolderType argument.
This method is similar to the GetDefaultFolder method
of the NameSpace object.
The difference is that this method gets the default folder on the delivery store that is associated with the account, whereas NameSpace.GetDefaultFolder returns the default
folder on the default store for the current profile. Also you may find the GetRootFolder method helpful.
Be aware, the Add method of the Folders class accepts two parameters. The second one allows to specify the type of the folder (in your case should be paased
olFolderContacts).

I found two files called AdobeDreamweaverSettingsPrefs (.xml and.tmp)
I removed them , emptied trash and restarted dreamweaver but the font stacks are sill missing.

Changing default application for Pages and Word docs?

I wasn't sure if this was the right place to ask this...
I just got a new computer, running Tiger. I own older copies of Word (which I hate) and iWork (which I love). When I copied my data to my new computer, all my documents defaulted to opening in the new versions of those programs. Furthermore, it won't let me change the program that opens those type of documents.
I open the information on a document, tell it to open in Pages 1.0, and that works fine. But if I try to tell it to "Change All", it just reverts to Pages 2.0. The exact same thing happens when I try to tell Word docs to open in my old version of Word, or with Keynote. I can open my files just fine within the program, but it's getting really, really irritating not to be able to open documents by double clicking.
Any advice? I can't afford to buy the new programs, even if I wanted them (which I don't, in the case of Word).

Need to change default email for iCal and Discussions

I have a dual problem tonight. my first problem is trying to reset my default email address in iCal to my new email address since we changed ISP. I have read that I need to change the default in MAIL, but everything there is with my new email address (@Telus). My old email was (@Shaw). When I set up a meeting on iCal and send it out to others, the reply email is @shaw and I can't seem to find how to change it to @telus. No one can reply with confirmation since it is going to a dead letter box.
However, in trying to find something here on the discussions I noticed that my apple account to log into discussions still has my @shaw address, but for the life of me I can not find the account settings that will let me change my email on my user name/profile. I won't get a notice of a solution of either of these questions through the automatic reply as it will go to dead email land. I don't want to have to close this user name and my history and start all over again. Yet the edit profile only lets me reset my biography information, not my email account.

On Mac OS X, 10.7.2: After several days of trying all the suggestions, I went to the Apple store. It took 2 Geniuses two hours to figure out that invitiations were being sent from the email that I have set as primary with Apple. It didn't matter that the account wasn't even listed on My Card in Address book nor was it even anywhere in mail preferences. What mattered was that I had that email as primary. So, I went to

and changed the Primary Email address. Now all my invites come from that address.
Supposedly iTunes and everything else will come along...

I've used a terminal command to change default send keyboard shortcut and now it doesn't work at all!

My friend provided me with a Terminal command allow me to use Cmd+Enter to send an email (muscle memory from Outlook, hard to forget!)
Command was:
defaults write com.apple.mail NSUserKeyEquivalents -dict-add "Send" "@\\U21a9"
Did that, and it didn't add the Cmd+Enter instruction but removed the Cmd+Shift+D instruction, so I had NO keyboard shortcut. Then Cmd+Enter started working. For a while. Now I'm back to getting the irritating error bleep sound, and having no functional keyboard shortcut for sending mail.
Does anybody have any advice?

How can I change a Class from LOCAL and add to transport?.

For some reason one of my Z classes has been created as a local object. I need to add into my transport.
I could do this manually by just editing the transport, I think, but I can't remember how to change the class itself to point to a transport.
Has anyone done this before?
I'm sure I shall kick myself when I find out.

Please go to trx. SE24. In menu GOTO->OBJECT DIRECTORY ENTRY.
With this simples steps you can change what you need.
Sometimes when we are enhancing components some classes are created as local objects and I don't know why....If someone knows why this happens... please share!

Well, this is a programming question more than a question on how to use the Leopard environment (you might want to post to one to the programming forums).
However, basically, you can't remove the Dock menu items that the Dock itself adds (add/remove from dock, etc.). You can add your own menu items, however. Use the interface builder to create a nib that has a menu in it -- call it something catchy like MyMenu.nib.
Then in the application property list file (Info.plist) add property called "AppleDockMenu" and set the value to a string that's the name of your nib file (without the .nib extension).
Subsequently, you treat that menu just as you would the menus in your menu bar. That's all there is to it.

Change default settings; freeze trackheader and 'save as '-destination ?

How can I change the default setting so I have the freeze botton /trackheader visual in the arange-window every time I create a new track ? And how can I change the default ' save as '- destination?

Perhaps it would have been clearer if I had just said "No".
You can't define a default 'Save' folder for Logic.
But in trying to be helpful, I suggested some workarounds.
My apologies if you mistook my helpfulness for prevarication.
As I said before, Logic will always try to save a Project in the same location that the Project was in when it was opened.
If you did not open a Project, but used a Template, then Logic will Save to the last Location it "knew" about (the last one it remembers, if you like).
For files other than Projects, it will behave the same way — remembering the last significant folder.
This is, in fact, the way that most Applications behave in OS X.

The simple answer is "no". The workaround answers I gave are for all situations, whether Logic has already been running, or whether it has only just launched.

Change GDM language in Gnome3 and add a Second Language to the List

Hello Everyone,
I have always used this order in my language list in Gnome or KDE : Portuguese, French, English.
But since the update of Gnome 3.2.1, I have problems defining the language, on my locale.gen I got only those 3 languages activated. But my Gnome3 Language List show me this :
Chinese
Espanish
English
English UK
Portuguese
With no chances of adding french (or it will replace the portuguese language and my system will be in French), If I remove the Portuguese language from the gnome list, then my system will be in chinese, english etc...
Even GDM have the same error, the problem is, GDM only show me the English language with no chances to change it..
How can I change this ?

It's a late answer, but you can put quite whatever you want in /etc/locale.conf, depending on your needs.
As you can see here https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … ide_locale, you can only set LANG and the other LC_* variables will be set based on this. But you can also tweak a little bit the LC_* variables if you know what you're doing.

Change default opening to Acrobat and not Reader

How to do? I have opened several pdfs via right click, Open as Acrobat Professional. It doesn't default to that preference. When I double click on a pdf, it always opens in Reader.

Disable Reader in the task list (it tends to run in the background and capture the PDF. Also, right click on the file and select open with - chosing Acrobat. If that does not fix the problem, you will have to go back into Explorer and fix the file associations.

How to change which folders iTunes watches

How can I change which folders iTunes watches, or adds to it's library? I see no way to change it besides re-installing iTunes because it asks you to choose folders during installation. Right now iTunes is watching both my Music folder and my back up drive's Music folder so I have duplicates of everything.

iTunes doesn't watch your folders in the same way that Windows Media Player does. On the initial install you get one opportunity to scan the Music folder or the whole computer. My guess is that you chose the latter. After that there is a folder called *Automatically add to iTunes.* Drop any media into that and it does what it says on the tin, but iTunes studiously ignores the rest.
If you want a tool that can scan your media folders for files that aren't in iTunes try iTunes Folder Watch or iTunes Library Updater. It's a long time since I've played with it, but IIRC iTLU has a cleaning mode called Synchroclean that could be used to clean out entries connected to your backup folder by not including the backup folder in the list of music locations it works with.

Change default stroke/fill in existing doc

We have several existing large documents that are part of a book and we are unable to change default settings for stroke and fill. Whatever we try as soon as we draw an object the line and fill revert back to the same setting of stroke weight: 0, color: 0, swatch: none. We can create and save a new document and then go back in and make default changes and it sticks, so we have some knowledge of how to do this. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you! (CS5.5 7.5.3.)

Don't work with books much, but it occurs to me that Graphic Styles are one of the options that can get synchronized across Books. Try changing those Graphic Styles in your Master document and synchronize settings across the book. (Try this on a copy of your Book, since I don't know what other consequences your Book might suffer.)
