Change default font & default font size

As far as I can make out it's not possible to reset the default font or font size in LC Designer ES 8.2........or is it, & if so, how?
I found this page re LC ES3, but it doesn't seem to apply to earlier versions.
TIA

Hi,
Designer uses predefined objects which are stored as *.xfo files unser your user account.
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Designer\10.0\DE\Objects\Standard
You can open such files with any simple text editor and modify them.
For example, you open the NumericEdif.xfo in your editor.
Them you'll see an XML file where you'll find the information for the typeface and the size.
<field name="NumerischesFeld" y="0mm" x="0mm" w="67.056mm" h="9mm">
               <ui>
                  <numericEdit>
                     <border>
                        <edge stroke="lowered"/>
                     </border>
                     <margin/>
                  </numericEdit>
               </ui>
               <font size="10pt" typeface="Arial"/>
               <margin topInset="1mm" bottomInset="1mm" leftInset="1mm" rightInset="1mm"/>
               <para vAlign="middle"/>
               <value>
                  <float/>
               </value>
               <caption reserve="30.0736mm">

                  <value>
                     <text>Numerisches Feld</text>
                  </value>
               </caption>
            </field>
Just change the name of the typeface and the size in the way you like and save the file.
You don't need to restart Designer, the next tiome you choose the nemueric field, it's created with the new font settings.

    Yes of course. My bad.
    Here it is. Some of the entries don't have a corresponding entry in conf.avail. I accidentally deleted 10-autohint.conf from conf.avail when I meant to delete it in conf.d. Ho do I get it back?
    Have tested lxappearance to change the font in GTK applications. Works, but the boldness is not looking very good yet.

  • How to change the font size of Text box tool ?

    How to change the font size of Text box tool ?
    I am using Acrobat PDF 6.0
    Tools > Advanced Commenting > Text Box Tool
    I need to know how to change the font size. The default font size is too big.
    let me know
    Thanks

    I do not have AA6 available right now (I can check at home this evening). I am also using AA Pro, not Std. In AA7, there is a text box tool that is a commenting tool. When I started typing, a properties toolbar came up that had the font size and such. I haven't figured out how to get the toolbar after the fact. In AA8, I selected the text box tool and then went to view and selected the properties bar (the font size and all showed then), or use Ctrl-E when editing the text. I have not been able to figure out how to edit the text in a text box after you have created it - think it is a mental block right now. Bill

  • How to change the font size in sap scripts?

    is it possible to change the font size dynamically in scripts.
    one more query regarding to this only.
    i need to get the hard copy of a script .
    what is the transaction code to get the hard copy?

    Hi venkata,
    You can specify the font size either in the Character format or pharagraph format.
    You better decide it according to your requirement.  If you want to apply the same font size for the entire form create the Paragraph format and give the paragraph format in the default paragraph format.
    If you want to apply that to limited text, then create character format.
    The process of creating it is just after going inside paragraph format click EDIT-> Create Element and give the font size.
    This applies for character format also.
    Reward points if useful.
    Thanks,

  • I like the mail feature with one exception; I cannot figure out how to change the font size of incoming mail permanently.  And, when answering an email I have to highlight the first few words and zoom it so I can see what I am writing.  what am I missing?

    I like the mail feature with one exception; I cannot figure out how to change the font size of incoming mail permanently.  And, when answering an email I have to highlight the first few words and zoom it so I can see what I am writing.  what am I missing?

    You can type the email using what you set in preferences and then highlight the text and use command - minus sign (or command - + for larger) to reduce the size of the text.
    You can also type command - T and a window will appear allowing you to select fonts/sizes/color/ background highlight.
    The above works in Notes also. I haven't tried to do this in any other Apple application.
    For incoming emails, you can use the above to reduce font size, but I don't know of a way to permanently set the incoming font size to a default.

  • Does anyone know how I can change the font size on my Palm Desktop?

    My IBM Thinkpad T23 shows the Palm Desktop memos, addresses and calendar information in very small fonts that are hard to read and I have not found a way to change them.
    Post relates to: Treo 600 (Verizon)

    Using "regedit" I was able to change the font size larger for use with the Palm Desktop software.
      Run "regedit" and export (save) a backup copy for safety
        File  >  Export
      Search for "FontSmall"
        Edit  >  Find  >  Find what  >  FontSmall
      Click on FontSizeGeneral and change the "Value data" to 16
      Exit "regedit"
      Run Palm Desktop software and enjoy the new legible font size!
      Notes:
      1) The location of the Palm Desktop software on my system using "regedit" is:
            HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop\Core
            * Your location of the Palm Desktop software may differ.
      2) I tested this on monitors using resolutions of 1280 x 1024 and 1024 x 768
            The font size is noticeably readable and much, much better
      3) You may also change the font family from the default (Arial) to another, such as Verdana, etc.

            FontGeneral    (Changes the font family for most of the program fonts)

  • Can you change bookmark font size?

    I assume it is not possible to change the font size of bookmarks because under Properties you can alter the font style and color but not size. But I wanted to ask in case I'm missing something.
    I'm using Acrobat Pro 11, Mac OSX.

    You can, actually, more or less. Click the Option button at the top of the Bookmarks panel and you'll see a sub-menu called Text Size there, with 3 options: Small, Medium (the default) and Large.

  • Permanently change mail font size?

    How do I permanently change the font size for mail? I know how to increase it for individual items, but that is cumbersome. Is there a way to change the default font size for the lists of incoming messages and the screen section below that where the message automatically appears when you click on an individual message in the list? Thank you for your help.

    Thanks very much. I was mistakenly going to System Preferences. That solves the problem.

  • How does one change the font size for folders and/or file lists in the Bookmarks Library?

    How does one change the font size for folders and/or file lists in the '''Bookmarks''' Library?
    Since the upgrade to version 9.0.1 of Firefox, the Bookmarks feature changes are confusing me. They seem to be confusing themselves as well. The list of bookmarks has changed. The font size is so small that my aging eyes cannot read it without fogging the screen with my breath. Some folders are out of alphabetical order (where I know they were previously good), and some are missing altogether (folders to which I frequently add references).
    As for missing or deranged files or folders, was there something that I should have done or now need to do to recover those after the upgrade (or before)?
    With regard to font size,
    1. there is no “Edit Bookmarks” or like option to edit the list in this version
    2. the “zoom” option in the “view” list of functions is greyed out when in “Show All Bookmarks” window
    3. expanding the browser window has no effect on font size
    4. “Preferences” settings for font size has no effect in that window either, including advanced settings
    5. “Help” offers none that I can find.
    Can any of you Help?!?

  • How can I change the font size on the post of WordPress?

    I have found three websites which address WordPress style sheets:
    Playing With Fonts: http://codex.wordpress.org/Playing_With_…
    Font Size and Color: http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/…
    How to Change Font Size In Wordpress: http://www.ehow.com/how_5469172_change-f…
    Here are the instructions from the third website above:
    Things You'll Need:
    Site designed in Wordpress
    Administrator access
    Step 1
    First, to change the font size on a Wordpress site you need to log into the site as administrator. If you do not know how to reach the login page, simply add "/wp-login.php" after the "www.url.com" address. Then login using the admin sign in.
    Step 2
    Next, get to the Wordpress file editor by going to Appearance->Editor.
    Step 3
    Once in Editor, identify the Stylesheet file (style.css) and click to edit. This is usually located on the right hand side under the "Styles" heading.
    Step 4
    Once in the style.css file, you want to conduct a search for "fontsize". This parameter is used throughout the style.css file and is the parameter used to control font size. Next to "fontsize" you will see something like "16px". Simply increase or decrease the "16" to change font size. The tricky part is to figure out which "fontsize" you want to edit.
    The way to do this is to first look at the heading it is under. If it is under "comment-template", it is obviously related to either the font size of the comments themselves or perhaps the comment form or the date/time stamp of the comment.
    It may take a little trial and error to find the right "fontsize" to modify. Simply modify the one you think is correct and in a separate window, reload the page with the font you are looking to modify. If it did not change, undo the previous edit and try a different "fontsize".
    I went to the Dashboard and clicked on the “Appearance” icon on the left-hand side, and then clicked on editor. I clicked on Stylesheet (style.css), but I have not been able to find the “fontsize” that would change my post font size. As the author writes: "The tricky part is to figure out which "fontsize" you want to edit." Some of the font sizes are given as a percentage, and I don’t know if these come into question, i.e., if I should try changing one of these to see what happens.
    The end result is that I still have not been able to change my post font size, other than by using the Heading-1-through-6 option, which, I understand, is not the best way to do it.

    From John Waller: “If you're using IE8, hit F12 to launch Developer Tools which give you a point and click method of locating the relevant CSS rule on screen.”
    I have Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) so tried this method.
    This sounded like another promising possibility; however, I have not been able to change the font size in my post using this method.
    I have gone to Dashboard > Posts > Edit > then moused-over my post > clicked on "edit" and then hit F12. An enormous amount (20 pages or more) of CSS appears. I tried picking out the font size that I thought pertains to the post (under Text Area), and I have changed the font size from 13px to 24px; however, I have not been able to “save” the new setting. When I go back to it, it is back to 13px.
    As a result, I have not been able to use a trial-and-error method to establish which font size I must change in order to change the font size of my post.

    I know I can control the x axis and y axis font with the font="" attribute of the cfchart tag.  But I want to change the font size of the data label in the chart series.  Is that possible?

    To specifically and fully answer your question, no, you absolutely cannot change the “font size” as a function of print.
    First of all, there isn't a single “font size” associated with a PDF file (and we assume you are referring to a PDF file since this is an Acrobat forum).
    Secondly, PDF is a final form file format meaning that the content is static in terms of location, size, etc. on the page. To change the point size of any particular text, you really need to go back to the source document and make the changes there.
