  • Flash Builder Standalone player opens Flash CS5

Hi I have just upgraded to Flash Builder 4, and I'm running it on MAC  OSX 10.6.4. I am trying to run my projects in the standalone Flash  Player, and everytime I try to run my project Flash Builder opens Flash  CS5. I have previoulsy used Flex Builder 3, and never had this issue.  Can somone help me out with this issue?

    Hi,
Flash Builder simply tells the OS to launch the SWF when generate HTML wrapper is off.
Go to Finder, right click a swf file, choose "Get Info".
Say open with, point to a standalone Flash Player and choose "Change All".
Note: We understand this is not an ideal experience - see this post for more details: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2909868#2909868

  • Change Flash IDE default player in OSX?

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the flash player
that Flash IDE uses? As far as I know, it uses the special
debugging version of the player. For some reason this player runs
much slower than the regular standalone player in OSX.
So I'm trying to figure out if there's a configuration file I
can edit or something to have it launch the standalone player when
    using the Flash IDE.
There's a "players" folder Inside the main "Adobe Flash CS3"
folder. I tried swapping out the player in there in the debug
folder but it didn't seem to do anything.
I know there's the nifty flash switcher app that does exactly
what I need, but it's only available on the PC.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Flash Builder installation failure

I installed the entire CS5 Web Premium suite on my windows 32-bit PC. All applications except Flash builder and Flash player are installed, I can open and use them with no problems, however, Flash Builder and player will not install. The error messages (abbreviated because it's 7 pages of error messages) indicates that there is a problem with the ARKCreateDirectoryCommand and the installer was unable to create a directory, unable to delete files and much more. The error codes specific to flash builder are 14921, 14919, 14918 14856, 14855, 14854, 23, 4 , 3, 2, and 1. I cannot run this as administrator although I am a privileged user and am able to install applications otherwise.

One possibility is that you're running into a limitation we have with certain types of roaming user profiles, if your user documents folder is stored on a network share instead of locally, and there is no access to its parent folder.
If you send me your full install log file zip (or gz format), I'll be able to see more clearly where it's failing. You can find instructions for locating that here, though from your message it looks as if you might already have that log handy:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/834/cpsid_83481.html
If you send that as an attachment to me at cagruss [at adobe dot com], I'll have a look.

  • Adobe flash builder 4 stops at 92%

    Hi,
The installer for flash builder 4 fails at 92% everytime. I have tried multiple times and have downloaded the installer 3 times, so it's not a bad download. It doesnt come up with any 'failed message' it just becomes unresponsive saying 'Please wait while the downloaded files are being extracted.' at the file 'AdobeFlashPlayer10_plDbg_mul.msi'. Any ideas?
    Adobe support advisor says nothing.

    Hi,
Since it seems to be hanging up while installing the Debug Flash Player, try this instead:
    - deselect the Flash Player portion of the installation, in the install screens that come up prior to beginning installation
    - if installation completes successfully this way, you can install the Debug Players manually afterwards.
Here's where you can find the Debug Players afterward in your target install folder:
    \Adobe Flash Builder 4\player\win\
Or, for newer versions of the Debug Players (e.g. 10.1 and up), you can find them online here:

  • Flash Builder 4 profiler doesn't seem to work with Flash Player 10.0

    Hi,
I've been trying to get the profiler to work with Flash Builder 4, but when trying to profile on Flash Player 10.1, 11 or 11.1, Flash Builder doesn't connect to the profiled SWF.
Changing my Flash Player to an old, debug version of 10.0.45 works fine.
Is this a known bug, or is it just an incompatibility that's fixed in Flash Builder 4.5?
    thanks
    Richard

I’m profiling just fine in 4.5

  • Flash Builder 4 compiles tests to Flash Player 9?

    Hi all,
I seem to be running into a serious problem:
Inside Flash Builder (262635) - Inside the package explorer - when I right click on a test suite and choose 'Execute FlexUnit Tests' - It seems to build the tests targetting flash player 9 and complains about 'Type was not found compile time constant: Vector'. Using the same test suite from an ant script that explicitly sets the target to be flash player 10 is fine, but I can't get it to work from insiode the IDE.
Is there any way to tell the internal testing system to target flash player 10? My compiler for the project is set to target 10.
    Conrad

Just got the same problem and, after reading this http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Targeting+Flash+Player+10 I solved it by changing target player in flex-config.xml (found in your_sdk/frameworks) to 10.0.0:
    <target-player>10.0.0</target-player>
I suggest duplicating your existing SDK (presumably 3.5) to 3.5_10 and changing the flex-config.xml. That is if you have multiple projects in your workspace and you expect some of them to compile with fp 9.
Let me know if it worked out.

  • Change flash player language

    Help!!!
Ok here's the thing, i'm working on a system that's in
german, but i would like the flash player to be in english atleast
when throwing errors, because i don't really understand german that
well and they just make more sense in english.
    TIA.

Well that is NOT a fix!!
In my situation, it is not possible to change the language of the Operating System. For instance, I prefer to work with a French OS, but only for programming purposes, I would like to have my Flash Builder and Flash Player error messages in English.
It is very sad that Adobe is not able to provide language control to the users.

    Hi,
I've installed Flash Builder 4.7 and air 3.6. When I try to test my movie I get a message saying I need the Flash Player 11.6 debugger. But it's currently in Beta, however I downloaded it anyway, but that doesn't fix the issue. When I continue some of the art is messed up. But it works fine when I test from FB 4.6.
    Any ideas?

I want to buy Adobe Creative Suite 6 Master Collection Chinese version, but Flash Builder is English version in it, May I change this software to Chinese version?

There is no reason to do that. You can buy a legitimate copy of the product from Adobe.

  • Flash Builder 4.7 Packages AIR iOS Standard Even Without Changes

"Note: If you have not changed your code or assets since the last debug IPA package was generated, Flash Builder skips the packaging and debugs the application. That is, you can launch the installed application on your device and click Debug to connect to the Flash Builder debugger. This way, you can debug repeatedly without packaging the application every time."
This appears to not be working in Flash Builder 4.7.  It always worked fine in 4.6.  Basically it packages the application every single time I click Debug, regardless of whether anything was changed.

Hi Brent, I've got a bug filed in this thread, including a project where I've isolated the probem to a single swc lib:

  • Flash Builder 4.5 - Flex (source code automatically changed after existing project import)

    Hi all!
Til yesterday, i was using FB v4.0 and it was perfectly working.
But now I'm under 4.5 and i have problem when importing my existing projects.
Now let me introduce the matter:
The entire project solution is located on my Desktop.
So, to import this, i go in FB in File>Import Project
Then i select "Project Repository" option and "Browse" button, then select the project on Desktop...
So.... import complete and SEEM TO BE successful
Unfortunately, from the IDE, when i double click on each source files, the code inside is not the expected one.
In fact, it looks as an older version of my code.
    Then, i exit totally FB4.5...
... and open my source files with a simple text editor, i can see that the original code (before import) has been changed by FB4.5...
    So, why???
    for example, this original code:
    * This is a generated class and is not intended for modification.  To customize behavior
    * of this service wrapper you may modify the generated sub-class of this class - WS_rq_login.as.

    Well well,
I got some news about this problem....
Look like Flash Builder uses a ".FML" file to reference URL of all WebServices used in the project.
When replacements occurs, the updated values seem coming from this.

  • The new context-help in Flash Builder 4.5 is horrible... anyway to change it back to FB3?

See the picture below: (you will have to click it to see it better, because the Forum doesn't show it properly)
Problem number 1: at Debug Time, I do not see a tooltip with the value of "Credits", even though it is a PUBLIC VARIABLE inside the Player Class. It is NOT even a property! In Flex Builder 3 all accessible members had their values indicated at Debug Time. In Flash Builder 4.5, they broke it and instead of seeing the value of Credits, I see that stupid tooltip which helps at exactly nothing.
Problem number 2: these hover tooltips appear way too fast. As soon as my mouse floats over practically anything in the code, I get that annoying huge tooltip. I tried to find an option which configures the delay with which that hover tooltip should appear, but I found no such configuration option.
I hope somebody can help me with some suggestions.
    Thank you in advance.

You can disable the asdoc hover by toggling Preferences -> Flash Builder -> Editors -> ActionScript Code -> Show in text hovers.

  • Is there anyway to change Info.plist settings and use Flash Builder 4.6 to package the iOS app?

    Hi there,
I've tried to package my app with the latest Xcode 4.5 (version 19 Sep 2012) iOS 6 SDK, Flash Builder 4.6, Flex SDK 4.6 with Air 3.5 Beta overlay.
and unzip the .ipa file and i found the following automated settings on the Info.plist file was wrong:
    <key>DTPlatformVersion</key>
            <string>5.1</string>
            <key>DTSDKBuild</key>
            <string>9B176</string>
            <key>DTSDKName</key>
            <string>iphoneos5.1</string>
According to the Adobe specs, these settinsg are unchangeble, is there anyway to change these values to produce .ipa file that with iOS 6.0 settings with Flash Builder 4.6?
I believe this cause the following appstore submission issue with the iPhone 5 4-inch display splash screen image [email protected]:
Invalid Launch Image - You app contains a launch image with a size modifier that is only supported for apps built with the iOS 6.0 SDK or later.
    Many thanks,
    A

Not everyone here was involved in the conversations that led up to this file, so here are some extra clues:
In your AIR3.5 folder (or whatever you named the folder) is a lib folder. Inside that is the current adt.jar file. Rename that in case you have to go back to it, and drag the supplied adt.jar file into the lib folder. Now publish your app.
You won't even need to quit Flash or Flash Builder.
Once you have the new IPA, go through the usual upload steps to the App Store, using Application Loader, and the file should process ok in iTunes Connect. Note, you will be asked to provide iPhone 5 screenshots.
