Change from UPLOAD to GUI_UPLOAD function module

pls let me know that wat are the changes that should be made if the report currently using UPLOAD function module and it should be replaced with GUI_UPLOAD function module ..
wat should be the TYPE of file name and File type ???????? with the respect to changes ....

I have uploaded Business partner data from a file to server now from individual records I have to create Business partner and have to update the records in the tables. Means from on record i have to create one business partner in sap system.

Hi RAMS,
1. Under the SWCV Go to the Imported Objects.
2. Right click on the RFC and click on the Import of SAP object.
3. Give the logon server name, system number the user name and pasword.
4. Select the RFC u want to import.
5. Execute the import and the RFC is imported under the SWCV.
Now u can use this Imported RFC in the scenarios of that SWCV.

Problem in GUI_UPLOAD function module

Hi Folks,
I am in the BI system where I have limited scope of upload function module, So I used GUI_UPLOAD as a upload function module.
I am uploading CSV file and which have amount field (with comma ',' ) as one of the column , So it is truncating the other columns while retrieving data into internal table and giving wrong data in columns.
Any other Function module, or tricks to upload file which have ',' in one of the column.

Hi,
Well in this case you will have to change the file format i.e. Instead of CSV make it tab delimited etc.
Else change the amount value by replacing comma(which woud be a tedious task).
There is no other alternative.

Pass Parameter ID from Main Program into Function Module

For material, there is a fileds product hierarcy (MARA-PRDHA) on Basic view, but we also append the same field in materail sales view (MVKE-PRDHA) and put on the screen of sales view, so the user want the PRDHA on sales view could be updated automatically when it has been changed on Basic view. On the screen of basic view, the field MARA-PRDHA is set as parameter ID 'VPR', the sales views are updated in function module MVKE_SET_DATA, so how can I get the value of parameter ID 'VPR' in MVKE_SET_DATA to populate the value in Sales View?!
Does parameter IDs and their values locate in global memory?!
if yes, why i can't get it with: GET PARAMETER ID "VPR' <f>?

Yes, this is SAP standard program for MM41/MM42 (Article material), I can't change the program and the screens are different for basis and sales views. So, I am just wondering whether there is a way to pass the parameter value of product hierarchy on basic view to any other screen process when it's updated on basic view.
The problem is the program check every single table (views) in individual function module, so it's hard to pass any updating (not updated) value from any other views.

Importing master data from R/3 through functional modules

I am facing the below error when I try to import master data from R/3 through the inbound functional module /DMF/MDIF_PRODUCT_INBOUND to the PMR component (PMR - Promotion Management for Retail).
"Runtime error CALL_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND has occurred"
Landscape - I have RTLDMF 1.1 and RTLPROMO 7.0 installed on top of Netweaver with EHP1 in a server which also has BI system. While the R/3 is present in another system.

Transfer billing data from CRM to FI, function module ALE_ACC_BILLING_POST

Hi ABAPers,
we have a scenario were we want to post billing documents from a custom developed application running on a CRM system into FI.
My idea is to call the function module ALE_ACC_BILLING_POST to create an outbound IDoc in the CRM and send it to the ERP system.
I guess, this should not be a problem. I'm just not sure because of one import parameter of the mentioned function module: CUSTOMERCPD. Does anybody know if I have to fill this parameter? Does it mean that the function module can only be used for so called CPD customers (one time customers) in FI?

Calling WebDynpro input screen from within an abap Function module / user

Hi,
I am posting SAP data with a BAPI from an Web Dynpro Application.
In the Bapi I must use an BADI/User -EXIT to add some infornation.
Today this is done by calling an Dynpro in a function module. This creates a pop up, data is filled and posted on commit.
How can I get a Web Dynpro application to display this popup without showing the "call screen without connection " error ?

How to update other infotype from source infotype via function module?

Want in source infotype to call a func.module, which shall update other infotype(s) in background.
Have tried out with HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION, but without success - gives mitchmatch of source it and target it in the internal it buffer tables.
How to do?
Requirements also are to secure rollback, if update of the last of ex. 3 target its fails.
Anyone has experience on this issue?

Know this functionality - also by means of own coding in the PAI by filling the int. tables dynmeas + initial_values. However the issue remains, i.e. the update has to be done by a function module called from PAI of own infotype, and from a function module you can't trigger the T588Z-functionality.
The update of it0003 from own it9300 is only an example, have general requirements that:
- from own infotype PAI a function module shall be called
- from the function module update of other infotypes
shall take place (modify as well as insert and delete)
- if more infotypes shall be updated from source infotype,
rollback shall take place if ex. update of last target
infotype fails (all to be updated or none!).

APD vs Read from a cube using Function module

Hi,
Please could someone tell me which is the best practice for the below case:
I want to sent information for one cube to another and in the transformation read from a third cube. I think I have this two options:
- Option1: In the transformation use the function module to read from a third cube and take the information that I need.
- Option2: Use APD and send the information of the third cube to a DSO, and in the transformation read from the DSO, instead from the third cube.

Hi,
If I compare option 1 and option 2 then there are many complexities involved in option 2. First of all you will have to create an extra DSO just for look up purpose and this will occupy extra DB space.
You will always have to do the data transfer from cube to DSO and you need to make sure that DSO data is perfectly matching with Cube so as to populate correct values during lookup.
But in case of option1 you are simply reading data from original cube using FM so you don't need to worry about data quality for lookup. The only thing here you will have to check is how much time it takes to read data from cube. As you will be writing extraction code in Start routine and use internal table in field routine.
I hope this will not impact much on your performance.

GUI_UPLOAD Function Module in 4.6C does not split into lines

Dear All,
I'm about to upload text file into SAP using the FM 'GUI_UPLOAD'.
Previously I've developed a test program to upload the same file in SAP v4.7
and it returns correctly into several lines as expected.
Snippet:
CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_UPLOAD'

      filetype                        = 'ASC'
      has_field_separator       = ' '
      header_length               = 0
      read_by_line                  = 'X'

As we can see, the 'read_by_line' parameter is already 'X'. gt_tabfile only consist of 1 string column.
But as I run the same code using the same parameter and file in SAP v4.6C
it returned only 1 line of very long string instead of the correct lines resulted in 4.7.
Is there anything to do with codepage (4.6 is English 1100, I forgot the codepage in 4.7 but i believe it's the same due to language selection is EN). Or anything to do with OSS Note?

- has_field_separator ' ' or 'X'
- header_length 0 or 1 which is dont make sense since my file dont have header so must be 0
- read_by_line ' ' of 'X' doesnt work my expectation.
Any other good questions please? How 4.6C and 4.7 above make a different result?

First conform in which format the flat file is present, as abhi mentioned if it is there in notepad
try to use F.M GUI_UPLOAD as shown below...
