Change in "Save As" Behavior

When I am working on a Ai file and SAVE AS pdf for example, a pdf is created in the location I choose and I am still working on the Ai file. I could have sworn that before the file I was working on became the pdf, therefore closing the AI file. I noticed this change a couple of weeks ago. Am I just getting senile or is there something wrong with Illustrator or my computer?

In other words, when you save a PDF you are no longer editing the original Illustrator file. You must either: repeat the Save As and change the format back to Illustrator; be sure to Save before doing a Save As to PDF, close the file after saving a PDF, then reopen the Illustrator file; or use Save a Copy and remember to edit the filename to remove “ copy” along with all the other extra steps.
Export is, in every way, a much easier and safer way to produce a PDF proof. Somehow, this blatantly obvious advantage has escaped the awareness of every person with clout or influence on the Illustrator team. That level of incompetence gets no sympathy or mercy from me.

JHS-00101: No changes to save

Dear JHeadstart team,
I'm working with JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.0, JHeadstart 10.1.3.1.26.
I have a form which shows the fields of a row of a table.
The purpose of this form is to control these fields (you're allowed to changed them).
Then save them and a trigger will fire to make some new rows in another table.
But if all the fields in the form are correct right away, then there are no changes so i get the 'JHS-00101: No changes to save' message and my trigger will not fire.
Is there a way to let the trigger fire anyway?

Thanks for your reply.
It's expected behavior, that is true.
But what i want is that without any changes my instead of update trigger will fire.
I have a table with rows.
These rows need to be controlled by hand. And If correct the data should be put in another table.
If a row is correct right away, I only have the save button to press.
But if JHS sees no changes it shows the JHS-00101 message and my update trigger will not fire.
Isn't there a work around?

Why is Acrobat involved in this process at all? Why don't you save directly the pdf from your email program directly where you want it to be? Acrobat is just adding another step to this process.

If you ave created the form and then filling it yourself and saving the form, the filled data should be there when you reopen the same form.

FRM-40401 No changes to save error

Hi,
I have updated one table from form by writing update statement on the when-button-pressed triger.This update statement is doing its job fine and the table is updated.but iam finding 'FRM-40401: No Changes to save 'message in my console . Please tell me why it is coming when changes are made into tables and wat should i do to avoid this . i have written on-error trigger on form level to suppress this message.What effect itcan have on my working.

Usually in Forms, you do not write SQL update statements to update your table. Instead, you create a base-table block, fetch the rows into the block, make your changes, and then commit. Forms automatic processing takes over and creates the update statements for you.
What you have done is bypassed the default automatic processing, and Forms is complaining. I would try to re-do the form and use a base-table block.

Rule Number One - NEVER go directly uinto the iPhoto library - there are no user servicable parts in it and making any change no matter how small can corrupt your library and cause data or photo loss
Exactly how were you trying to save a copy of your iPhoto library?
Albumdata.xml does not contain your photos - and again NEVER make any changes to the content of the iPhoto library - no dragging - no changes - never go into the library
We need to know exactly what you did
And probalby the easiest solution is to load your backup from before you messed things up
For reference after you get things working
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

I keep getting a warning stating that the document could not be auto saved in pages. The file has been changed by another application. Then it says click save any way to keep your changes and save the changes made by the other application as a version, or click revert to keep the changes from the other application and save your changes to a version.
What in the heck does all that mean, and why are they trying to behave like a Windows product or a Microsoft office product. I just don't get it.
Why is another application changing my documents? It's like they've created a virus within their own programs. It's a pain in the neck and makes no sense.

I am also having the issue of a warning saying "could not be auto-saved in Pages. The file has been changed in another application. I then hit "save anyway", the warning will go away for a time, sometimes minutes, sometimes hourr, but then the warming reapprears saying the same thing. This is not the case with all Pages documents but it is the case with many.

Drag the Library from the Pictures folder to the Users/Shared folder. I would point out that folks doing this on 10.6 and later frequently meet permissions issues. You might do better moving it to an appropriately formatted External Disk.

Change in back button behavior

We are upgrading from ColdFusion 9 to ColdFusion 11. We noticed a change in back button behavior. On pages running CF 9 the back button works, but on pages running CF 11, when clicking the back button, we get a browser "confirm form resubmission" message. Since it is the same browser, it is clearly a change in ColdFusion. Does anyone know when the change was made? Is there a setting that controls the behavior?

We should ignore the difference in Coldfusion version for a moment. It might just be that the previous behaviour was incorrect and what you now observe, with CF11, is the correct behaviour.
A form-resubmit warning is essential. In fact, it can even be vital in certain circumstances. It is telling you that someone, some process or some thread has attempted to resubmit a form.
In your case, clicking the back button apparently refreshes the action page of the form. This is analogous, in business terms, to repeating an order that has already been placed. The related validation code, queries, etc. will run once again. Obviously an unwelcome situation.

I agree that you shouldn't cover up potential problems. I didn't mean to suggest that. I think there can be valid reasons for suppressing messages sometimes.
For example, I've used :SYSTEM.MESSAGE_LEVEL := '5'; before to suppress FRM-40401 or FRM-40405 - can't remember which one, it's been a while. In my case I was using exec_sql in forms to retrieve data from a DB2 table and insert it into an Oracle table. In this case forms didn't recognize that work was actually being done and would give the FRM-40401 or 40405 error at the end of the process, even though the records had been successfully inserted.

Change default "on success" behavior for click box?

I create a lot of pptx --> Adobe Captivate eLearnings, and as you know, when the slides are imported, they are given a click box, which when clicked, advance the user to the next slide. I want to keep the click boxes to stop the project at the end of each slide, but dont want the user to be able to interact with it. (I have a customized navigation bar) I can achieve this by changing the "on success" behavior to "no action". Question -- do i have to do this for every click box? Unfortunately, I cannot apply this to all click boxes like I can apply the timing settings, for example.

As far as I know....and hopefully someone can correct me (I would be curious for sure)... but I don't think you can change the properties of multiple click boxes across slides all at the same time. Other items like buttons and smart shapes can be visually adjusted using the Object style manager, but as far as On Success options and such...unless you select them all in a given slide, you can't. Clickboxes can't even be added to master slides unfortunately. If the clickbox can be in a common place across slides, I would delete all of the clickboxes except the first, make the necessary changes to that one, then do a ctrl+c for copy, and then just paste it into all of the remaining slides. Again, I hope there's an easier way someone can share.
