app.execMenuItem most certainly does work with Reader - what problems are you running into trying to use it?
As for developing Reader plug-ins - yes, some of the SDK methods aren't available to Reader. If you want to change the appearance of an annotation in Reader, you would need to acquire the Cos object of that annotation and modify its appearance dictionary manually.

How do I change the dock appearance?

I'm making this post because when i did a search for "dock appearance" it gave me stuff for OS 10.7, 10.8, iMac, Intel.... everything but OS 10.5. Apple: it seems like a search should default to searching the discussions section you're in.
Anyway, HOW do i change the dock appearance to something that's not ugly? I looked online and fig'd out how to get rid of that ridiculous 3D dock, but now it's just black (with an outline), like a hole in the screen. Ugly and creepy. Yet, i can't seem to find an appearance option or anything that let's me make it, oh, i don't know, semi-transparent bluegrey like 10.4's? I mean, that was kind of icky too, but still far better than black. Thanks.

Hi,
That's probably the planning unit is assigned to someone else. You can see who is the current owner.
If this is the case, you can ask the owner user to submit it back to desired user.

I have a problem with syncing my calander with outlook 2007 for iPhone 5s, ipad 1st and 3rd generation. Contacts work find, and new and changed enteries in outlook all go to the devices. Device Cal changes do not appear in Outlook

Over the past year or so, I have been unable to fully sync my iPads with outlook 2007 calander. Now I have an iPhone 5s, and really need the calander fixed. Contacts seem to sync in both directions, and any new or changed cal enteries in outlook appear on the device. The problem is that any new or changed calander enteries do not make ip back to outlook 2007, so there is only one-way syncing (down to the device) but no return, for calander entries.
I am now using the latest itunes, which I followed the recommendation delete all apple stuff, and then reinstall, I have used scanpst, built new PSts, etc, am I am stuck.
Not using icloud either.
Not using wi-fi, purely USB cabale sync
Running on Windows XP, SP3
Now IOS 7.0.2 on iPhone and 1 iPad (3rd gen)

Bottom line: if you follow the recommendation to delte all itunes software and re-install, it don't work (at least for me and many others).
However, purge the data (certain data) and the data syncs.
I think the folder is Apple Computer\Preferences and it needs to be purged.
To be sure, maybe someone can rename the folder on their system, then run itunes and see if it syncs ok.
The idea is to figure out the least minimum stuff that needs to be touched in order to get a working solution than having to purge all Apple software and then rebuild it all over again.
I had purged other files out of inpatience, but did not want to purge entire folders because I had Safari, and Quicktime software, and did not want to wipe that out, Plus there were software downloads and device backups in some of those folders. But I really believe it is the preferences folder, and I would like someone with the same problem to try it and verify it.
Once the preferences folder is removed/renamed (taken out of the picture) pluggin in the device and go to the INFO (I think that is the iTunes tab) page where you select calanders, contacts, email accounts, etc. They will all be unchecked (because you wiped out the preferences) and you need to reselect them. Then run your sync.
What I had done in testing was create something on the device, and modify something else on the device looking to see what got up to Outlook. I got the good news that something good was happening when I got the conflict message from iTunes, and it showed both Outlook and iPhone, showing the calander entry I changed on the iPhone. Never got that before. After the sync, everything looked good the few test entries were uploaded to outlook.
Now, My Cal is 10L+ enteries, and I am doing 100% sync (I don't select the option to ignore enteries over x days). I also have 1400+ contacts. Before this change, the sync of contacts & calanders took a couple of hours (and only operated ONE-WAY, now the syn is taking less than 5 minutes for this one step.
I am a Windows XP Professional user, x32 bit system, using Outlook 2007, iTunes 11.1.1.11, I am standalone (no exchange server) and have about 10 email accounts (mainly POP) defined. I am using only one calander in outlook, but I have Outlook and 2 gmail calanders in the iPhone.
I am running iPhone 5s and iPad 3rd Gen both with IOS 7.0.2 and a 1st generation iPad with the latest version of IOS 5.x.
If anyone else has success, I'd like to hear, along with your experience.

"Budget Exceeded" error not appearing at the time of changing PR but appearing at the time of PO change.

At the time of PR value change after creation of PO budget exceeded error is not appearing even though the PR value exceeds the budget. But at the time of changing the same value in PO, budget exceeded error is appearing.
List of steps:
PR created.
PR released
PO created with reference to PR and released.
PR value changed to a value more than the available budget - No budget exceeded error.
PO value changed in accordance with the PR - System throwing the budget exceeded error.
Now the issue is why the system bypassed the budget exceeded error at the time of PR value change and only giving the error at the time of PO value change. Also, we observed that while changing the quantity in PR which results in exceeding budget, system is giving the error. But while changing the value system is not giving the budget exceeded error.

From the above output i think system is not capturing the PR commitment. I'm not sure as i'm basically into MM and dont know much about PS.
Why the system is stopping with budget exceeded error at the time of PR creation and not giving any error while changing the PR value after PO creation. System is giving budget exceeded error if quantity is changed in PR. Please explain the standard system behavior and suggest how to enable control at the time of PR value change.

Hi and thanks for your help. I tried what you said, and I found out that if I Dis-able the Firefox add-on 'AVG safe search 10.0.0.1423", the problem goes away. However, if I Enable that add-on, the problem returns.
I think I want to keep that particular add-on, but am not happy with the fact I will then need to click on that arrow I spoke of in order to get to any website (rather than just hitting 'enter" after entering the URL. Any other advice?

How do I get change bars to appear in Robohelp output?

I am using Frame 11 and Robohelp 10. I have used change bars to mark source content that I have updated (in Frame). When I import and generate output using Robohelp, however, I don't see any indication that that change indicator is coming across anywhere. I need to be able to indicate content changes visually to my audience. Any ideas about how to do that without resorting to changing the content in Robohelp manually or using different para/char styles in Frame?

Yes, I need something in finished help. I need to be able to provide a visual cue to the audience that specific text has changed in both the finished paper and the online outputs. I did this in the past by applying gray highlighting via character formatting in Framemaker. Unfortunately, removing character-level formatting peppered throughout a 600-page guide in Frame is tedious, to say the least. Therefore, I am looking for another solution. I was hoping that change bars would work. You can cause them to appear in the finished Frame output, and I figured that when imported into Robohelp there would be a marker or something in the HTML that I could work with. However, I don't see anything to that effect in the HTML in Robohelp. I am using the import feature. Maybe there is another way for me to bring over the content that will include that metadata? Or perhaps there is an entirely different approach I should be using to achieve my objective?

How to change title that appears in browser

My WebHelp layout looks good, but the text that appears in
the browser title bar is wrong, and I can't figure out where in the
project to change it. Should be simple, right? Can anyone help me

There are many suggestions for this problem. None of them
helped for me. The name of our product is Right-Suite™
Universal. The help window title is 'Right - help'. The project
title, main window title, and home.htm title are all 'RSU'.
I was stepping through the RoboHelp_CSH.cpp code to see if
the window title was set in there. Lo and behold the the window
title was 'rsu_c8 (debugging)', which is the name in the window
while debugging. So, apparently, when you call RH_ShowHelp() with
NULL for the parent window handle, you get a title that is derived
from the active window that is calling the help. The algorithm to
get the title doesn't allow dashes. It takes everything up to the
first dash. Seems like it should take everything up to the LAST
dash. I can't change the name of our program.
When I call RH_ShowHelp() with the HWND of the MainWnd, I get
no title at all, which is better than the wrong title, but still
not right.

Why do security updates change my Firefox appearance

If changing from FF28 to FF29 is for security reasons why does my FF appearance also change as it has nothing to do with security.
Is it because some developers think it might be better this way or is there a security problem.
I have now told FF not to look for updates as I get fed up with adding extra add-on's just to keep the look and function I have before any updates
I have already added Status-4-ever and now I'm expected to add Classic view just to keep what I already had working fine.

Changes to the layout are not security related and need to be kept as options and not forced on users to keep everybody happy as well as safe

Change how Safari appears to a web site?

Many web sites that I visit on my 2nd. gen Touch automatically load their mobile version. Sometimes I just don't want the mobile version. Is there any way to configure the Safari browser so that the Touch does not appear to sites as a mobile device?

My point is that browsers, including those on portable devices, provide identifying information to web sites, and that this information COULD be changed, by programmers, if desired.
Likewise, the websites that you want to view the full version of, against what the site owners want you to view, could easily be changed by the web site developers, if desired.
If web site developers decide to give you a different version of their web-site depending on the browser you are using, this is something you should take up with the owners of the web-site.
This is not an issue for Apple to solve.
(Incidentally, there are alternate browsers in the AppStore that do let you choose a different identity)
I don't see how my being able to choose whether I see the complete web page or the mobile version, where available, would bother anyone.
It could, because masquerading as a different browser reduces the effectiveness of browser stats. The popularity of different browsers, OSs and versions of browsers, frequently influences future design and functionality decisions made by site owners.

Why brightness changes when subtitles appear?

Good evening, I’d like to ask for advice about a problem I found on iTunes running on Mavericks. I convert a video content (using handbrake) adding subtitles from .srt file. When I watch that movie, if (and onlu when) subtitles appear, picture brightness becomes clearer. The same file opened using VLC has no problem. My mac mini (latest generation entry-level) is connected via HDMI to a LCD TV. Searching the net I found nothing, does anyone have an idea on how to fix it? Thanks!

I am experiencing the same issue and it seems to be indeed a problem caused solely by iTunes as I only see this issue with movies (rented from the iTunes store and) played back with iTunes. Streaming videos in Safari (e.g. Netflix) and activating subtitles doesn't show the brightness adjustment issues.
It's really annoying as dark movie scenes become almost unwatchable as the brightness level changes all the time. I hope that Apple will fix this issue in the next release of iTunes or Mavericks whichever is causing this issue. In the meantime, I will look for alternative movie players. I'll give VLC a try, but wonder if it can play back movies rented from the iTunes store.

Bridge name changes don't appear in Lightroom

I changed a bunch of file names in Bidge using Batch rename. The changes appear in bridge and Finder, but not Lightroom. Is there a way to get Lightroom to see the new name?

I think you'd have to import the photos again, after the name change (which could possibly cause you to lose any edits made in Lightroom, and possibly also lose metadata assigned in Lightroom).
Lightroom is not a file browser. Therefore, as a general principle, once you import photos into Lightroom, you need to do all photo management inside of Lightroom and not using your operating system nor another program.

please run a scan of your system with [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] & also manually check that you don't have any suspicious entries like 3rd-party-toolbars presently installed under ''firefox > addons > extensions'' (adware like babylon also might install some unwanted stuff that comes under the names "Browser Manager", "Browser Protector", "Bprotector", "Object Installer", etc.) or in the windows control panel > programs section.
afterwards install the search reset addon - it will revert the most common customziations those adware programs do in firefox back to the default: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/

Can we change warning message appearing in contract to error message

Hai Guys,
One of our clients' requirement is to make the warning message which appear as "Date 31.07.2011 is in the past
    Message no. V1437" while giving a past date in valid from field of contract creation (VA41). I would like to know if there is any standard setting for this.

Hi,
Since this message begins with 'V1..', there is no standard way to change it. The only way to do so is:
Go to SE91
u2022     input V1 in Message Class
u2022     input 437 in Number and execute.
u2022     select the message number and click on "Where-Used List"
u2022     Only select 'programs'
u2022     Open the program
u2022     You can see the codings written for the error message as W437 which may be changed to E437.
This is not recommended by SAP
