Change Log In User's LOCALE through SQL

Hi Experts,
Could you please let us know if there is a way we can set the LOCALE of the user logging into HANA Studio through SQL?
We are able to set by right clicking the System --> Properties --> Additional Properties, but we will like to achieve this through SQL.
We tried to Set Session 'LOCALE' = 'EN'  and Update value in m_session_context table with no success,
Thanks and Regards,
Ram

Hi Lars,
Sorry for the delay!
We're able to change User's LOCALE parameter as you had suggested.
But, when we tried running a Analytical View with Text join in the same SQL console (or with a new console), Text join still refers the old LOCALE information that is in SYSTEM --> PROPERTIES --> ADDITIONAL PROPERTIES.
Accessing the view through XSODATA as well as XS service too has the same issue.
USER_PARAMETERS table however shows new LOCALE details.
SQL Tried:
ALTER USER <<username>> SET PARAMETER LOCALE ='DE';
ALTER USER <<username>> SET PARAMETER LOCALE_SAP ='D';
Please do suggest us here!
Thanks and Regards,
Ram

It is also now against federal law in the US, Canada and, I believe, the UK.
In the US HIPAA and the federal network security act (???) and Sarbanes-Oxley all prohibit users running as Admins.   This may not specifically affect your
installation but it does show how important this is.
There is NEVER a good reason to make a user an administrator.  It is only lack of technical know how that leads to this scenario.  Any vendor product that
requires this is not a safe product to use in a corporate network.  Malware specifically looks for this as an attack vector.
I spent three years arguing with Inuit to get there software to work.  Every time they said you have to run as an admin I told them it would never be.  We
were always able to find a way.  Now QuickBooks installs as a standard user with no issues.
    It can be done.

  • Currently Logged in User

    Dear Experts
i would like to know that how can we get the currently logged in user through query or some other option, as i want to generate different document series for every single user.
Secondly, if i have a party which is my customer as well as my vendor, how i can perform netting so as to get the recievables and payables for the particular party.

    Hi,
One way to get current logged in user list is through the XML file on the licensing server.  Otherwise, you can get current user by
    Select T0.U_Name From dbo.OUSR T0 Where T0.UserID = $[USER\].
What is your B1 version and PL? It may not be the same for 2005 or 2007 to handle those BP with both types.

  • Set user preference Locale

    Dear all,
I would like to set user preferences locale through a Java program.
It seems that language locale is not part of the desktopsettings and I've not been able to find out what key to use with getProfileString (if any).
Could you provide me an example of how to set the user preferences locale language?
    Best regards,
    Francesco

You can use "SI_LOCALE" as an argument to getProfileString() to retrieve a user's locale.

Yes. Go to System Preferences->Users & Groups->select his account, make it an admin one, log into it, and then repeat, deleting your account. Do note that to do this correctly, you should go through the steps outlined in What to do before selling or giving away your Mac - Apple Support. Also, it's illegal to pass on any OS X upgrade you installed via the App Store. Since it's tied to your AppleID, your grandson won't be able to do any updates, unless you foolishly give him your AppleID credentials—never recommended.

  • Sharepoint 2013 delivers documents through IIS too good! Need to restrict by logged in user

I have a Sharepoint 2013 app that lets external users (https://) pull data from SQL to create links on the page that the user can click on to get documents to pop-up in the browser so they can view/save them.  The page sends the user's ID as a parameter
and the stored proc uses that to return only the documents that user is allowed to see.  Took forever to figure out... looks great... my employer is going to be impressed and save money... yada, yada yada!  Problem is:  If you knew the name
of a directory on the mapped location and knew the filename (somehow), and you had a login that got you to the site, you could successfully put that address in your address bar and the document would come up!  That's a bad thing!  I need to only
let users see documents they have access to.
I have been playing with the app pool settings and advanced settings for the sub-site, but it still lets me pull items that the logged-in user doesn't have permissions on the server to get to.  I haven't been able to prove it, but I suspect that IIS
is sending another login credential to the directory to retrieve the file... something like "admin" or something that can have wider access.
Here is my setup:  I have a directory on another server that is mapped to the Sharepoint Server box.  I have a Virtual Directory that points to that mapped drive.  My Sharepoint Page is on a site of its own and is called with the URL "https://reportcenter.<company
name>.com".  There is only one page on the site.  When the page opens it provides links to documents on the Virtual Directory.  When you click on any of them the files appear in the browser just fine.  Sharepoint is running on a
Windows 2012 R2 Standard OS.  The test user I am using is "Client1" and they are a member of the "SP_Clients" group which is not a member of anything else in Active Directory.  In the file directory I went to the Share list and
made sure my test user and the SP_Clients group is not in the list... if the system tried to use Client1 there is no way they should get access.
Any thoughts on what I can do to stop Clients from getting to files they shouldn't be?

Thank you for your question and reply.
No, the identity is not passed as a URL property.  The way it works is that SP verifies the user and sends them to the default page after they sign-in.  Once there, the page evaluates the UserID value and that values is passed to a stored procedure
as a parameter.  The user can't get to the page unless they are verified by SP, they can't somehow go around this.
Now, once the page loads they click on one of files they wish to see (a link on the page that was created from the results of the stored procedure call).  The link points to a virtual directory setup in IIS that points to a mapped drive where the files
are located.  The security on the files is set on the directories in their actual location.  I just need SP to pass the user's ID to the file directory and check the sharing rights on the file to see if this user has rights to get it.  It seems
like SP is passing some other credential (probably SP_Admin, or Admin or something) which has the ability to read the file and therefore pass it back to the screen.
I can't put the documents in SharePoint... they have to be in a file directory. The reason is that we have an elaborate program that runs every month to create these files and places them in the correct directories.  Somehow changing that application
to create the files and place them programmatically in a SharePoint directory is beyond the scope of the project.  Under the circumstances, it would be much simpler to just provide the user a list of the documents they have access to and have them click
on a link on a page and have the document appear in their browser.  Everything actually works, but I just have this last piece where SP is not 'telling' the file directory the UserID of the logged in user and therefore all the documents are available.
All that needs to be done, is to make sure the userID is passed to the file directory so it can be checked against the security there to see if the user can have the file or not.
I hope that makes sense.  I look forward to hearing back from you with your thoughts on this and how this can be accomplished.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Remote control kicks you out when trying to change the logged in user by clicking on the red N

I'm running Zen 6.5 with the latest updates and the latest agents... I can
successfully remote control a workstation through ConsoleOne but I have 2
    issues:
    1. If I'm in the middle of a remote session and I right click on the red
N icon and change the user, it kicks me out and says "operation is
currently disabled for the logged in user".
    2. Whenever I log in it changes the desktop background to blank (it's
actually a blue background) and it doesn't change it back after I close
the remote session. If I physically go that workstation and logout and
log back in, it still keeps that same blue background.

  • "The file [name of file] may have been changed by another user since you last saved it." Issue affects both network and local files.

When a certain user saves a file in Excel 2010, she gets a message: "The file <name of file> may have been changed by another user since you last saved it."  She can choose to save as another file or overwrite with her changes.
This just started happening a week or so ago.  She was concerned that someone else was accessing her files, but we did several tests that opened, made a change and saved in a matter of seconds, and she still gets the message.  It happens on
most files, but not all – both network and local.
We already tried the QFE_Saskatchewan registry fix.  I also checked the file server for Services for Macintosh.

You may be confused by the error in Excel saying “another user”. Actually Excel cannot tell who (the real human) is editing the file. Based on my research the No.1 possibility of the error is KB2626998.
2626998  Connection to a network document is lost in the 2007 Office system or in Office 2010 after the computer resumes from standby
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2626998
For Excel 2010, follow these steps:
    a.  Click Start , click Run , type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK .
    b.  Locate and then select the following registry subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Excel\Options
    c.  On the Edit menu, point to New , and then click Dword Value .
    d.  Type NetworkAvailableTimeInSeconds , and then press Enter.
    e.  Right-click NetworkAvailableTimeInSeconds , and then click Modify .
    f.  In the Value data box, click Decimal , type a number value, and then click OK .
Note This registry subkey sets the time, in seconds, that Excel waits for the network to resume. For example, if you type 15 for the number value, Excel waits 15 seconds for the network to resume. You might have to do some tests in your own environment to
determine an appropriate value. You may have to try multiple numbers.
    g.  Locate and then select the following registry subkey.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\office\14.0\common\Internet
    h.  Repeat step 2C through step 2F again. Reuse the same value that you used previously.
    i.  Exit Registry Editor.
Feel free to post back. Thanks.
    Cheers,

  • Sqlplus connects locally but not with tns after changing "log on as"

I can connect to the DB from locally with "sqlplus system/password" however I can't with "sqlplus system/password@mysid".
the only thing we changed was in the service. We changed the service -> properties -> Log On values from "Local System Acount" to "This account" with a valid login and password.
RMAN now works to a NAS drive but getting to the DB is not working. When we had "local System Account" selected, we could get to the DB but RMAN could not reach the NAS drive.
Can anyone help? Oracle 11gR2 on Windows server 2008.
    Thanks

Thank you for the help. I fixed it my not only changing all the services to that same user, but I added the user to the administrators and ora_dba groups. Now we can use the NAS drive and get to it from TNS.

How to get the data from mysql database which is being accessed by a PHP application and process the data locally in adobe air application and finally commit the changes back in to mysql database through the PHP application.

If the data is on a remote server (for example, PHP running on a web server, talking to a MySQL server) then you do this in an AIR application the same way you would do it with any Flex application (or ajax application, if you're building your AIR app in HTML/JS).
That's a broad answer, but in fact there are lots of ways to communicate between Flex and PHP. The most common and best in most cases is to use AMFPHP (http://amfphp.org/) or the new ZEND AMF support in the Zend Framework.
This page is a good starting point for learning about Flex and PHP communication:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/flex_php.html
Also, in Flash Builder 4 they've added a lot of remote-data-connection functionality, including a lot that's designed for PHP. Take a look at the Flash Builder 4 public beta for more on that: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashbuilder4/
