Change MySite URL at Web Application level

Howdy,
I'm having a tough time finding a post about this and I know someone has already asked it.
I have 2 web applications plus a mysite host.
App 1: http://SPCollab/
App 2: http://SPCollab2/
The MySite Host URL is http://my.SPCollab/
Now, what I'm trying to do is make it appear when users in App2 click on the Sites link, it appears like this: http://my.SPCollab2/. So I'm really talking about an AAM. Is there a PowerShell command to set the MySites URL of a Web Application? Both links would
point to the same host, just with different bindings.
Any help or links would be appreciated!
Cheers,
Martin.

Yep, you're stuck with the single URI. If you're having auth prompts, I'd suggest looking into SSO solutions (e.g. ADFS).

  • Managed path for host named site collection is farm level or web application level?

    Hi,
    I would like to get advice.
    I created a webapplication for host named site collections.
    these are my host named site collections (except http://sp2013) under my webapplication
    Root Site Collection: http://sp2013
    Site Collection: portal1.sg
    Site Collection: portal1.sg/research
    Site Collection: portal1.sg/intranet
    research and intranet managed paths are farm level
    all my host named site collection will be accessed by http and https except "intranet" site collection will be only accessed by https
    so I changed the Intranet zone for site collection using Set-SPSiteUrl
    Set-SPSiteUrl (Get-SPSite "http://portal1.sg") -Url "https://portal1.sg" -Zone Intranet
    Set-SPSiteUrl (Get-SPSite "http://portal1.sg/research") -Url "https://portal1.sg" -Zone Intranet
    Set-SPSiteUrl (Get-SPSite "http://portal1.sg/intranet") -Url "https://portal1.sg/intranet" -Zone Intranet
    Now I need to create "search" site collection for "Enterprice Search Center"
    My question is that for the "search" managed path ... should i use farm level or web application level?
    "search" site collection will be will be accessed with both http and https also.
    Thanks a lot!

    managed path for HNSC is farm level and u can have 20 managed path
    while managed path for path based is 20 per web application in your case if you are going to have a a separate web application for search then u will use web app

  • CSOM: remove user at web application level

    Hi,
      I want to remove  user at web application level so that the user will permanently be removed from all the site collections including their sub sites . I want to do it for sharepoint 2013 CSOM(c#) for an office 365 site.
    Please guide me.
    Regards,
    Chaitanya.

    Using Apps server object model is not possible. But mine is not an app it's a console application. I will maintain a list which has 2 fields peoplepicker and expirydate. Based on the content of the list i wll remove the users from the web-application level
    directly, if users expirydate is matched. This exe of console application will be put in a scheduler of another server to run it periodically.
    Please let me know my above scenario is possible or not?
    Regards,
    Chaitanya.

  • Is it possible to change the URL of an application?

    Hi All,
              I was working with the oracle apex and created few applications almost a year back, due to my higher studies there is a gap with the tool..and finally I am in.
    Am planning to create an application which will be similar like a personal website.My doubt here is ..whether it's possible to change the URL by keeping a simple one which includes my name also
    instead of having this big..
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=10221:1:116416608594529
    I can understand that the whole URL describes the appln no,page no and session ID but its my doubt possible or not..If possible then how to proceed?
    Thanks
    with Regards,
    Ramya.

    If you are just looking for a nice and short URL to start your application, why not just use a URL shortener service like goo.gl ?
    Just put in your long URL and it will create a nice and short URL for you... for example, the above URL is now http://goo.gl/FijYxn

  • Not able to change password in SAP WEB application server for BI 7 EHP 1.

    Hi all,
    I'm currently upgrading from BW 3.5 to BI 7 EHP 1.
    When logging to SAP WEB application server to execute a WEB report, it's not possible to change password. Even when a initial password has been set, the user are not forced or able to change it.
    Also to logon dialogue is more like a Windows pop-up than the Web based in 3.5.
    Anyone having a clue?
    Best regards

    Hi Eriki,
    My problem is related to the WEB application server (WAS), not the Netweaver Portal.

  • How change information between two Web Applications?

    Hi,
    Has anyone any code sample or article how to build
    a "bridge" that would change data stored into session and servletcontext
    between two separete web application in same servlet engine?
    What I have understood is that they can not normally share same
    session or servletcontext data...
    Thanks,

    Hmm...
    Text in this Sun's tutorial says:
    "This lesson, however, shows you what to do if your servlet requires a resource available from its own server"
    The actual problem is following:
    - In Web Application 1 servlets/jsps stores data into session object and servletcontext
    - then user can request a page in Web Application 1 which should "activate/launch" Web Appilication 2 and
    pass some session objects or objects stored into servletcontext from Web Application 1 to Web Application 2.
    How to do this, it's the problem.

  • On SharePoint side - other than enabling Kerberos at web application level - is there any other step needed? What?

    Hi there
    My Network guy says that he has taken all necessary steps to roll out Kerberos.
    In the scope of SharePoint - I have extended our web application and this has Kerberos enabled (instead of NTLM). <-- Other than this any more steps are needed on SharePoint side? Which ones?
    Thank you so much.

    Microsoft has released the Kerberos configuration guide : http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23176

    Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services, and either turn Location Services off (NOT recommended), or turn off the Weather App in Location Services.

  • How to change port for deployed web application on IAS10g(from 7778 to 80)

    I have deployed an application on IAS Application Server. The default link to my application is:
    http:/my_sever_ip_address:7778/my_app
    Can any one tell me how to change the port that my_app run on from 7778 to 80.
    So that the link to my_app will be:
    http:/my_sever_ip_address/my_app (run on default port 80)
    Very urgent!
    Thx

    You need to read the Oracle® Application Server 10g Administrator's Guide of your installation, which is also available online. In particular, for 9.0.4, you need to read the chapter Managing ports. Basically you need to change your web-cache listener port if web-cache is installed; otherwise you need to change Oracle HTTP Server Port.
    Also note tht port 80 requires extra steps since it is a restricted port.

    From the workflow when you create the link, also add the proposal number as an url parameter.
    For example if the url for requesting WD application is <WD_URL>, then URL with parameter would be
    <WD_URL>?PROPOSAL_NO=<actual_proposal_number>
    In the webdynpro, you can access this parameter with the following piece of code(ideally in wdDoInit of component controller).
    String proposalNo = WDProtocolAdapter.getProtocolAdapter().getRequestObject().getParameter("PROPOSAL_NO");

  • Change Image Prefix at the Application Level

    Hi All,
    I have an APEX installation and the image prefix has been set as /j/. I have changed this to /i/ using the reset_image_prefix.sql script.
    This however does not update the Image Prefix field in the Applications Definition (the entry still appears as /j/).
    Is there a way to change this using a SQL script?
    Will the following achieve the same result:
    update APEX_030200.APEX_APPLICATIONS
    set IMAGE_PREFIX='/i/'
    where IMAGE_PREFIX='/j/';
    Thanks,
    Riz

    Hi Riz,
    there exists a nice API for that purpose. You have to either login as parsing schema or privileged user to perform such action. To be sure, I'd set the workspace id to your environment first, so I guess the following block should be doing exactly what you want:
    DECLARE
      v_ws_sgid NUMBER := APEX_UTIL.FIND_SECURITY_GROUP_ID('<WORKSPACE_NAME>');
      v_app_id NUMBER := <APP_ID>;
      v_prefix VARCHAR2(256) := '/i/';
    BEGIN
      WWV_FLOW_API.set_security_group_id(v_ws_sgid);
      WWV_FLOW_API.set_image_prefix ( p_flow_id => v_app_id,
                                      p_image_prefix => v_prefix);
    COMMIT;
    END;
    /You can edit (almost) any part of the application defintion with that API.

    I have deployed an application (Java based) via OC4J using Oracle application Server ,
    URL Application : http://200.100.11.232/test
    Enterprize manager URL : http://200.100.11.232
    Can you tell me how I can point http://200.100.11.232/test to the test application instead of the enterprise manager home page. I want to use Enterprise manager URL to run the application , Advise needed Please.
    best regards

    changing mod_oc4j.conf could help as well using virtual hosts with Rewrite in httpd.conf could do the work.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to get Inactive sites information at web application level

    How can i get the inactive sharepoint sites information through sql server

    Hi Ravikiran,
    SharePoint sites can be stated as 'unused' but cannot be stated as 'inactive'. On the other hand inactive is a term suitable for databases.
    SQL Server can give you information on inactive databases but to collect information of unused SharePoint sites you should navigate to Central Administration tool.

    Please helpOr, you could use Rapid Clone -- Rapid Clone Documentation Resources For Release 11i and 12 [ID 799735.1]
    Run preclone, change the hostname at the OS level and in the hosts file then run postclone.
    Remember to clean FND_NODES table as per (How to Clean Nonexistent Nodes or IP Addresses From FND_NODES [ID 260887.1]). You may also need to run cmclean.sql as per (Concurrent Processing - CMCLEAN.SQL - Non Destructive Script to Clean Concurrent Manager Tables [ID 134007.1]).
