CSOM: remove user at web application level

Hi,
I want to remove  user at web application level so that the user will permanently be removed from all the site collections including their sub sites . I want to do it for sharepoint 2013 CSOM(c#) for an office 365 site.
Please guide me.
Regards,
Chaitanya.

Using Apps server object model is not possible. But mine is not an app it's a console application. I will maintain a list which has 2 fields peoplepicker and expirydate. Based on the content of the list i wll remove the users from the web-application level
directly, if users expirydate is matched. This exe of console application will be put in a scheduler of another server to run it periodically.
Please let me know my above scenario is possible or not?
Regards,
Chaitanya.

  • Managed path for host named site collection is farm level or web application level?

    Hi,
I would like to get advice.
I created a webapplication for host named site collections.
these are my host named site collections (except http://sp2013) under my webapplication
    Root Site Collection: http://sp2013
    Site Collection: portal1.sg
    Site Collection: portal1.sg/research
    Site Collection: portal1.sg/intranet
research and intranet managed paths are farm level
all my host named site collection will be accessed by http and https except "intranet" site collection will be only accessed by https
so I changed the Intranet zone for site collection using Set-SPSiteUrl
    Set-SPSiteUrl (Get-SPSite "http://portal1.sg") -Url "https://portal1.sg" -Zone Intranet
    Set-SPSiteUrl (Get-SPSite "http://portal1.sg/research") -Url "https://portal1.sg" -Zone Intranet
    Set-SPSiteUrl (Get-SPSite "http://portal1.sg/intranet") -Url "https://portal1.sg/intranet" -Zone Intranet
Now I need to create "search" site collection for "Enterprice Search Center"
My question is that for the "search" managed path ... should i use farm level or web application level?
"search" site collection will be will be accessed with both http and https also.
    Thanks a lot!

managed path for HNSC is farm level and u can have 20 managed path
while managed path for path based is 20 per web application in your case if you are going to have a a separate web application for search then u will use web app

  • How to find out how many concurrent users using web application?

    Hi all,
I have a web application deployed using 9iAS. I am trying to find out how to find out how many concurrent users are using this application at any one time. According to Oracle there is no way to see this information using the enterprise manager interface.
Does anybody out there know how I can find out this information in real time? Failing that, are there any good analysis tools out there that display usage to the minute (all the tools I have found show usage by hour which is not sufficent for my needs).
Any help would be much appreciated,
    Caroline

I know I haven't heard of any software to do this, but this also sounds like a really hard problem to try and really analyze well.
The trick is, you might "infer" how long a user is using an application based on when cookies are set and when they're set to expire. If that's a long time, though, that could count far more "concurrent" users than are actually there. A user could simply close the application at any time and stop using the application; you can't really detect that because the server isn't "told" when the user closes their browser or goes somewhere else.
A good perl script might be able to read the Apache access log and tell you how many unique IPs asked for a given directory in which various applications are stored in any 5 minute span of time... that could be something like an indicator of "concurrent" users.
If you don't know Perl, I'd suggest getting the O'Reilly & Associates book on Perl and learning it, because the more I think about this, the more this sounds like a textbook example for applying a Perl script.

  • Change MySite URL at Web Application level

    Howdy,
I'm having a tough time finding a post about this and I know someone has already asked it.
I have 2 web applications plus a mysite host.
    App 1: http://SPCollab/
    App 2: http://SPCollab2/
The MySite Host URL is http://my.SPCollab/
Now, what I'm trying to do is make it appear when users in App2 click on the Sites link, it appears like this: http://my.SPCollab2/. So I'm really talking about an AAM. Is there a PowerShell command to set the MySites URL of a Web Application? Both links would
point to the same host, just with different bindings.
Any help or links would be appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Martin.

Yep, you're stuck with the single URI. If you're having auth prompts, I'd suggest looking into SSO solutions (e.g. ADFS).

  • On SharePoint side - other than enabling Kerberos at web application level - is there any other step needed? What?

    Hi there
My Network guy says that he has taken all necessary steps to roll out Kerberos.
In the scope of SharePoint - I have extended our web application and this has Kerberos enabled (instead of NTLM). <-- Other than this any more steps are needed on SharePoint side? Which ones?
    Thank you so much.

Microsoft has released the Kerberos configuration guide : http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23176

  • How to get Inactive sites information at web application level

How can i get the inactive sharepoint sites information through sql server

    Hi Ravikiran,
SharePoint sites can be stated as 'unused' but cannot be stated as 'inactive'. On the other hand inactive is a term suitable for databases.
SQL Server can give you information on inactive databases but to collect information of unused SharePoint sites you should navigate to Central Administration tool.
    Refer this TechNet article: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff631154(v=office.14).aspx

can anyone advice on this please , i have spend two days over this without being able to know what is the problem ?

  • In spite of Assembly Deployment being GlobalAssembly Cache solution contains resources scoped for web application

As per below snapshot of my SharePoint solution properties, my Assembly Deployment is GlobalAssembly Cache.
    My solutions contains two features
    1. Timer Job Feature - Scoped at Web Application Level
    2. List Item Event Receiver - Scoped at Site Level
While deploying the solution I am asked to give Web Application Url and as per below snapshot it also contains Web Application Scoped resource.
What I am not able to figure out is why it shows in 'Contains Web Application Resource' as 'Yes' in spite of my
    Assembly Deployment being GlobalAssembly Cache?
Secondly, when i deploy my solution, I find my webapplication level feature missing in UI. However the feature is installed and i find it to be visible when i check through powershell script.

    Hi Benjamin,
If you're getting a Null Value error anywhere, that means a variable you're referencing isn't set to anything. If you're getting that try echoing out each variable after it's assigned to see if it's set to anything.
The link you are referring is for SharePoint 2010 and verified on Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2008, but not Windows Server 2012.
The approach in this case includes the following per the blog:
Check to see if a web application with the current specified URL is already in use – exit if it is
Check to see if an application pool with the name already exists. If so use it, otherwise create one
Create a web application based on the parameters specified
Assign the object cache properties to the new web application
Create policies for the object cache users to the web application
To simplified the code, we could use powershell below to check if web application and application pool have been already in use ahead. And skip the last two steps in the first time.
    Get-SPWebApplication | fl displayname, applicationpool
    Please refer to New-SPWebApplication
which is used to create a new web application within the local farm:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607931(v=office.15).aspx. Only two parameters i.e. ApplicationPool and Name are required, we could try a simple command at first:
Please run Get-SPManagedAccount to check the managed account, then execute the command below:
    $ap = New-SPAuthenticationProvider
New-SPWebApplication -Name "Contoso Internet Site" -Port 2014 -ApplicationPool "ContosoAppPool" -ApplicationPoolAccount (Get-SPManagedAccount "Domain\Administrator")
     -AuthenticationProvider $ap -SecureSocketsLayer

  • PHP_MySQL version of a high security user authentication web app.

Since you folks deal with PHP Application Development, I am posting this here.
For a demo of the PHP_MySQL version of the UltraSuite High Security User Authentication Web Application, you can sign up at http://bit.ly/hgNjek.
It  offers a multi-layered approach security approach towards protecting  important information like user authentication credentials.  Protection from dictionary attacks, rainbow table attacks, brute force attacks, SQL injection attacks and much more.
I hope your feedback will help make the application even more useful and secure.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
could you or someone tell me if ADDT supports protection against these methods you mention:
Protection from dictionary attacks, rainbow table attacks, brute force attacks, SQL injection attacks and much more??
And can this system work alongside ADDT?
    thanks again

  • Query regarding attributes in web application

    Hi Forum,
    1. We have Session Attributes which are available through out the session for an user in web application. These can be set by session.setAttributes and can be accessible by session.getAttributes in application either in JSP or Java Class
    2. Then we have request paramaters which are available in request just like session variables they are accessible.
I wanted to know that ,is there any method through which the attributes can be set or retrieved through out the application(in JSP and Java class both) for every user?Unlike session variables, they disappear after session invalidates.

  • No context menu within Web Application in Portal

    Hello all,
our user runs Web Application via Portal. Normally they can call up the context menu within the web application in order to access the context menu. There they can drill down, swap characteristic, distribute, etc.
For some user we notice that this context menu is not appearing by right mouse click, but the context menu from the internet explorer. That means that these user can not navigate properly within the web application.
When the user executes the Web application via the Bex browser, the context menu appears properly. When I log on in into the portal/bex browser on the users PC, the context menu is also appearing properly.
Is there an user-specific portal setting, which is to maintained?
    Any help would be great.
    Best regards,
    Stefan from Munich/Germany

    Hi Stuart,
The easiest way to achieve the desired behavior is to make some changes to your web-j2ee-engine.xml file.
In the login module configuration element edit the security-policy-domain field to u201C/irju201D. This will provide you access to your application from the portal without re-authentication to be required.

  • Some users hitting error page when trying to access Web Applications...why?

    Hi,
I have a SharePoint 2010 setup with 4 WFE, 4 APP Servers and 1 DB Server.
After reading up a while back which services should be running on which server layer I remove the Web Application Service from APP Server (using Central Admin). The service is currently in error state on that machine. I had also removed a WFE Server which
was not required and ensured all WFE had Web Application Service running as Microsoft Specified. I have checked each WFE and they have all same Web Applications in IIS. I have accessed a specific Web Application (that a user said they couldn't access) on 2
of the 3 WFE servers when remoted into them, but one prompts me for login details. I have looked at the NLB on each WFE Server and saw that 2 out of three servers had all three servers in cluster. One that didn't was not same server as had problems accessing
Web Application. I have removed a Server from Cluster and added it back as I saw Priorities were 1,2,4 (3 must have been initial removed server) and added it back again so Priorities were 1,2,3.
Can anyone explain what may have happened in this scenario? It seems I think to be hitting this server with the problem accessing the Web Application. It seems to time out. How do I resolve this? DO I need to resync?
    Thanks.
    John.

    Hi John,
For your issue, it can be caused by that you remove  and  re-add a WFE from the NLB cluster. As  the Priority was changed, you need to disconnect and reconnect your SharePoint using SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard.
    Thanks,
    Eric
