Change "name" propertie of a apex item

Hi all,
I´m trying to change some atributes of a select list item, like "name", but the apex put a name like "p_t04", even if i put a (( name="mine" )) in the atributes of form elements, when i check the html source code, the name "p_t04" is in there. Apex set the ID of a item like the name i choose to the item when i create then, but the select NAME=" " <<< that name, cannot be changed??

I need create a multiselect combobox. Is a combobox with checkbox inside. I found some JQuery in google, but to change the normal APEX select-list into the jquery multiselect i need change some properties to call the function. I alread try to create my own combobox, but its hard to populate with DB result and using position absolute after all, the final result is not so good, work, but not like i need it.
I need change the atributes of the apex select list to change in to a multiselect. You think if i change that (if there´s a way to that)) will be a problem??

I have a seeded item (Button 'Apply') on an Add attachement page provided by Oracle in Self Service Web Module. Oracle documentation says this:

Q1) How we can see the properties of the seeded items?
Q2) How we can turn on the personalization pencil button of an item that is disabled by Oracle development team?
Please let me know how we can achieve this through self-service personalization. Any light on this.

You donot need to do anything on the Add Attachment page. The autoCommit feature is exposed as a property on the Attachment bean. You need to extend the controller in the base page where the attachment Image, Link is present and get a handle to the attachmentBean and call setAutoCommit(true) which will enable automatic saving.Use personalizations to modify the controller class property on the base page. You can later choose to remove the Save button on base page using personalization.

After "Configure Feature", "Changed By" field shows my name for most of work items

I recently upgraded TFS from 2010 to 2012. And I am running "Configure Feature" for every project. The configuration ran successfully. However, when I run a query, the "Changed By" field shows my name for most of work items. I thought
configuration should never touch the data. More interesting, I go to history of work items, there is no change by me at all. Now why did history and query show totally different data?

How to change the application title in apex while importing it ..

Hi ,
I have an issue here. As per the requirements I need to change the application title in Apex while
importing it from One instance to another instance.
Ex: My application title is WATERFALL PORTAL in iWATERFALL instance ,it must be changed to PUAT PORTAL if im Importing it to PUAT instance.
This change has to be done Dynamically. Without Entering it Manually.
Kindly help me out and Will be Great for your Assistance.

The "APEX instance" does not have a specific name property, and would therefore usually be referred to using the database name. Or do you mean the APEX workspace containing the application?

Putting HTML around APEX items

I am trying to convert the following HTML to APEX. I am trying to put the html around the APEX items but I cannot get them to sit properly in the tables.
Can I put html around the APEX items? Or can I put in the HTML and access the objects via APEX?

It looks like you want to create a Login Page. This is a standard APEX page type that can be created from the application home page: click Create Page >, select Login Page, and complete the wizard. The look and feel of this page is controlled by standard APEX [page layout techniques|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e11838/ui.htm#BABJIECG], and the [themes, templates and CSS|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e11838/themes.htm#CJABAEIE] applied. To achieve the required appearance in APEX, page and region templates and CSS can be modified to contain the necessary HTML and properties.
Try experimenting a bit with the above. If you hit problems, raise new threads dealing with specific, discrete issues...

Changing datamatrix properties

Hi,
I am pretty new to Adobe Forms and have the following problem:
I want to change the properties of a datamatrix barcode (it's not a paper form barcode), especially the number of segments. By default only 4 segments are created (at least if the content is not bigger). I tried to change it with a FormCalc-script, but couldn't manage to do it.
This is my code:
Code3.ui.#barcode.dataColumnCount = "1"
Code3.ui.#barcode.dataRowCount = "2"
"Code3" is the name of the barcode, the values are just examples. I played around a lot with these values, but could not see any difference. I inserted the script at different events, all without any change:

layout:ready
form:ready
Can someone tell me where my mistake is? Or is the change of these properties not supported for datamatrix?
I am using Adobe Livecycle Designer ES2 in an SAP-system.

The rendering of the modules and their size is actually controlled by the barcode renderer. So, the sizing of the modules will grow when there is less data and the barcode size allows. I don't believe you can access any of the properties manually. The only items I know are exposed are the error correction levels.

Change display properties of mailbox

I have created a mailbox in "On my Mac"
The mailbox names are "sent 2010", " sent 2011", etc
Here i am copying the mail from the sent items folder based on the date they were sent to the respective mailbox.
Now here come the problem when i view this mailbox on the "On my Mac" area it displays mail based on the "sender" ( which in this case would always be me)
How can i change the properties so that the message list is displayed with the recipient.
This is the way it is displayed in the sent times folder.. How can i do this for folders on my mac since by defaluth they display the list of email based on the from address.
i spoke to apple support chat who told me at the moment the feature is not available and i should post a feedback for them to add this feature.
I think the community here could have some answers for me

KristopherI can understand that, but at this time there is no way to change the individual characteristics of the folders in the On My Mac section, and by Default they are set for holding emails you receive, so they will show the Sender’s name. The best option at this time would be to submit feedback for our engineering team to add this feature, through the feedback tool at www.apple.com/feedback, or look into a 3rd party Mail application who may have the feature already included.

Please see again what you are proposing is the way the mails are "Sorted" and not the way they are "displayed".
These are 2 different things.
What i was asking is for them to be displayed(listed) based on the recipient( like they are in the sent folder). Sorting can be done the way the user likes.
Even if i do what you have suggested they will still be displayed( listed ) with all from them being listed from the same sender .
The Sent items folder should be displayed based on the recipient. When you are viewing sent mail what you want to see id whom you have sent the mail to. Displaying that all the mail were sent by you Is mostly useless unless you want to sort out the if you are sending mails from multiple account.
I hope you understand the problem i an seeking solutions for and are able to suggest some solution.

Try handling rollOver event of the item renderer instead of listening on the DataGrid.

Administrator cannot change printer properties on "Advanced" tab from "Devices and Printers" on Windows Server 2012 R2

User with administrators rights cannot change printer properties on "Advanced" tab from "Devices and Printers" on Windows Server 2012 R2.
If to launch "Devices and Printers" on server, all printer properties on "Advanced" tab are inactive (see screen below).
But I can change it manually with "Print Management". Features become active.
The main purpose - to uncheck "Enable advanced printing features" with powershell
scripts.

I've tried to runs PS Script both locally and remotely, previously running Powershell ISE as Administrator.
I've noticed interesting thing - if to
check "Enable advanced printing features"
manually thru Print Management snap-in, script works fine. But, time to time after some manipulations on print server, this advanced feature returns to enabled state automatically by system, I think. In this case PS Script does not work. Next, if to disable
feature manually again (thru Print Management snap-in),
and enable manually again, PS Script will work. Very strange situation.

How to create read only Apex items

Hi,
I'm creating a report using Apex items to display the result values inside editable text boxes. They are then referred by using APEX_APPLICATION.G_F02 etc.
My requirement is to make the last row of this report (the values for "Total") as non editable or read only. Can anybody help me with the code that i would need to add in the query? The query goes something like this:
apex_item.text(7, TO_CHAR(nvl(year_4,0),'999,999,999'), 12, 12, 'style="text-align:right;font-weight:bold"',ROWNUM) "YEAR_4", ..

Surprising. I would have expected there to be a CSS style to disable a form item.
Depending on your reasons for wanting to use APEX_ITEM, you could:
Select your required value as part of the query (without using apex_item.)
Visit your report attributes, then the attributes for your specific column.
Change the column type to text field.
Add readonly=true into the item attributes.

Can't change Movie Properties

I just bought and downloaded 5 Pixar short subject movies.
I have a 3 year old grandson that I've set up a Mac for.
I've put his favorite movies and trailers on the desktop with large icons and slow double click. I set each movie to open in full screen and close when finished because he can't click on the red close button.
The Pixar movies downloaded into iTunes, so it would be difficult for him to find them to play.
I opened the mp4 in Quicktime and saved as self-contained movie, thinking this would do it. I put the movie on the desktop and opened it to get movie properties. I could not change them, so I can't set to go full screen or to close the movie when done. ???
Is there no way to do this? "Protected" is one thing... but not being able to change the properties seems ridiculous.

Better to use "reference" instead of "self contained" to save on HD space.
Then unplug the mouse and teach the 3 year old the keyboard.
The "Tab" key will highlight a file and a new tap on it will move the focus to a new item.
Command key and the letter o key will launch QuickTime Player.
Command key and the letter f will send the file to Full Screen (requires Pro).
The Spacebar will start and stop playback. Up/down arrow keys will adjust volume.
Command key and the letter w key will close the window. Escape key will send it out of full screen but leave the window open.
Command key and the Tab key will allow switching between the Finder and QuickTime (focus changes each time the Tab key is clicked) and releasing the Command key will make that app the "front".

Passing values to APEX items from external site

All,
Is it possible to pass values to APEX page items from an external web site?
For example, I have an external web site where users type in a username and password into fields. When they click the 'log-in' button in the external site, I would like to have those values passed to the APEX log-in page. If possible, I would like to have the APEX log-in occur 'invisibly' and the user taken directly to the home page of the app. If that's not possible, it would be nice to simply have the 'user name' and 'password' fields filled in on the APEX side.
I'm using APEX 3.0.

The general answer is yes. You can use the f?p syntax to set the value of any APEX item - http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32472_01/doc/appdev.300/b32471/concept.htm#sthref185 .
In your specific example, the main question should be is it wise? The mere fact that you are using a login process suggests you have something to protect in your application. The f?p syntax uses a plain text for the items’ value, which means that the user name and password will be completely exposed.

Changing a .properties file from within a programme

Hi, I was just wondering is there anyway that i can change a .properties file from within a programme?
I have certain values in the .properties file and I want to add a username and password to the file once it has been entered in a login part of the programme.
I have had a look at the docs and can not seem to find any suitable methods.

store is a good method.
In practical use, sometimes you have a .properties file full of comments (properties files are to be modified by humans, and humans need comments), but they are not retrieved by "load" so they will not be stored back by "store". It's a pity that it happens (the equivalent Windows API, WritePrivateProfileString, has a better behaviour).
Maybe someone has written a method that can modify a properties file, without changing the order of the pairs name=value and without throwing out comments.

Can't change names of folders or drives on desktop

All of a sudden my powers to change names of files and folders on desktop has been taken away from me, I'm stuck with untitled folder 1,2,etc..

Sounds like a permissions thing. Try using Disk Utility. It's here:
Applications/Utilities.
Launch DU, select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, then click
Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished, Quit Disk Utility.
Reboot and see if that makes a difference.
And some tips about naming or renaming folders ... etc.
Changing the names of items
You can easily change the name of a file, folder, or disk on your computer.
IMPORTANT: To avoid problems using Mac OS X or applications on your computer, don't move or change the names of folders that came with your system (such as the Library folder or your home). You should also not change the names of applications or items associated with specific applications. If you accidentally change the name of an installed item and you experience problems, you can change the name back.
Locate the item you want to rename on your desktop or in a Finder window.
Click the item to select it, then click the name. The name is highlighted and you will be able to edit it.
Type the new name and press Return.
Some document names have a file extension, such as ".txt" or ".jpg." If you change the name of a file and delete the extension, some applications may no longer recognize the file. To ensure the file can be recognized by the application that created it, change only the part of the name that comes before the extension, or open the file using the appropriate application, then save the file with a new name.
You cannot change the name of an item in the Finder window's sidebar. You must locate the item on your desktop or in a Finder window to highlight and change the name.

Unsuccessful to change the properties label

i am doing to change the properties label. i used existing project that i download from sap note 817876. below is my steps:
1. i create my bundle file (fgckbLabel.properties)
2. in bundle file, i defined my properties as
          HRProgram=Program
          HRDate=Date
3. i change KEY in IRFServiceWrapper.java
    it become com.fgckbLabel.km.resource.bundle
4. i deploy to portal
5. i restart servlet engine
6. i create metadata extension in system administration > system configuration > knowledge management > content management > global services > metadata extension.
name : fgckbLabel_metadata_extension
bundle file : com.fgckbLabel.km.resource.bundle.fgckbLabel
7. i assign the metadata extension to all properties that need to change the label.
i do the above steps in many times but i cant see any changes on my properties. it's still display the property ID. did i missing some step?

The steps you have followed seems to be correct. This issue used to happen in our environment also, but second j2ee restarts used to fix the issue.
Few cross checks which you can perform
Please download the par file from the server and check whether the changes are present in the par file.
make sure that you have keyed in the right bundle file name.
