Change of ISO codes of UoM

Dear Experts,
i am facing the following general question - based on SRM 7.0, CS
On the R/3 side, we have three different systems in use, to which SRM is connected. All these different R/3 systems are having differences in the used UoM / ISO codes of UoM.
We are now trying to consolodate all these differences in one of the R/3 systems, before we than do the replication of the UoM data from that R/3 system to SRM.
As part of this consolidation, in all three R/3 systems there are some ISO codes, that would need to be changed.
Has anyone faced a smilirar consolidation task before?
I am looking for experiance pointers regarding the question, what points i would need to keep in mind and to test in these R/3 systems, if i change the ISO codes?

We faced a similar situation at one of our clients. Consolidating is not easily done. We said at the end that we have a 1:1 relation between ISO-Code and UoM in SRM and only make the UoM visible which exist in all systems.
We harmonized the UoM as followed:
Int. meas. Unit:   PCE
Commercial:       PCE
Technical:          PCE
Long Text for UoM:   Piece
Short Text for UoM: Piece
ISO-Code:          PCE
Primary Code Flag: X
Commercial meas. unit: X
With the Commecial meas. unit you can have the UoM invisible.
Changing them in the ERP is almost impossible as they are used everywhere and this is a bigger task.

Hi Dima,
I think that ISO codes of UOM are used mainly in IDOCS/EDI processes. See if you are having any of these working in one of those R/3 systems.

Reg ISO Code for UoM

We made change to ISO code of UoM and it is set as primary key. After changes the system was giving error for the new ISO Code with Idoc not getting triggered.

Can we change the ISO code of existing UOMs?

We have developed a new global R3 initiative where we need to merge UOMs from different regions (from different R3 systems) and we have discovered some UOMs have a blank ISO code - can we change the ISO code and what should we check for please?

ISO code of UOM

Dear Experts,
In SAP, ISO Code "PCE" already maintained for UOM Pieces (PCS) and already we've created lots of material which base UOM is Pieces (PCS). Can I change ISO code as PS instead of PCE ?
Is it possible?
If I change it in SPRO>SAP Ref. IMG>SAP Net Weaver>General Settings>Check Unit of Measurements>ISO Code Tab or in Unit of Measurement Tab then what kinds of problem we will face??

ISO code Configuration for new UOM creation

Hi gurus,
have a Technical query.
I am configuring UOM's in SAP. For this I need to give ISO Code value as well.
To configure ISO code values -> the SPRO direct links are not working...I tried with few more other links.. but nothing is working out.
Could you pls tell me the tcode for configuration of ISO code for UOM? The ISO code values are stored in table T006J.

Currently i dont have this ISO code RL in SRM but i do have in ecc
t006i = t006i must be same in ECC and SRM ?
but my requirement is below
in mm03
MM 1234 EA as Basic UOM and ORDER unit as RL .(1EA = 1RL)
i do have a contract for RL. no issues so far.
POs created with RL too in ECC classic.
since i do have one contract for one material as sos , always sc comes with RL and PO created. no issues.
while revising the GOA i do have issues
like below error.
just go to GOA change mode and check i get below error.
"conversion factors are allowed only in case of differing unit of measure"

ISO Code in Idocs,Language dependent settings,UoM "PCE" and Russian lang.

Dear EDI Experts,
I have to deal with the following issue:
MATMAS05 Idoc created via BD10 and covnerted to an XML file.
This files are "deployed" to SQL Servers in different countries, e.g. RUSSIA, UKRAINE.
When transferring that material master the ISO code for Base unit of measurement is "PCE" (Transaction CUNI) used for the idoc.
How can I establish the logic that when RU is language the ISO code "Шт." is sent, when UA it is "на".
Is there a language-dependent setting possible for the ISO-codes?
If not, any BADI possible?
Any help appreaciated.

thanks a lot for your quick answer. Entries in table T006 and transcation CUNI are unerstood.
Entry for e.g. UoM "ST" in T006: ISO-Code "PCE"
When creating a material idoc MATMAS05 PCE is copied toe the repsective segment field. How can I establish that the system sends "Шт" for language RU and "на" for language UA.
Any standard setting available for such logic or is coding requested? If so, any BADI, FM you may recomment?

Assignment of same ISO code to multiple UoM can be done, but the primary code checkbox must be ticked only for one, else would cause conflict for EDI.
The SAP help reads as below:
An ISO code can be assigned to several internal measurement units.
Use
The ISO code is important for EDI. It is used to convert the internal SAP
measurement units into standard measurement units. Data exchange
via EDI requires internal measurement units to be converted into standard
measurement units.

Unit of Measure PCE is not an ISO Code

Hi MDM Experts,
We experienced problems in transferring the Catalog item to the shopping cart. The following error message appears:
"Incomplete items in catalog. Only complete items were transferred "
I checked SLG1 for the OCI error message and found this log:
"Unit of measure PCE is not an ISO code. Item will not be transferred"
I checked table CUNI in both the ERP and SRM server and I found out that PCE is indeed an ISO code. How can I resolve this error? The system is saying that PCE is not an ISO code but the table shows that it is. Is this a bug or something?

It turned out that in ERP and SRM, ST is the ISO code used for UOM piece. The ISO code in the Data Manager was changed to synchronize the three systems.

Unit of measure is not an ISO code

Dear Expert,
Unit of measure M has ISO code MTR and Dimension length. the UOM is in sync with ECC6 . However when trying to order from srm it bounces back with error message Unit of Measure M is not an ISO code. Further checking in CUNI shows that the SI Unit is defined as the same as the UOM. I have tried to convert this but it is not allowing me to. Some uoms are unavailable in SRM such as KM and CM which may have something to do with it.
Can anyone advise what action to take.

In my system I have the same configuration. Are you creating a cart from catalog?
If so, you could try the following:
1. If it's possible, change the UoM in the catalog to match the ISO Code. In this case MTR.
2. If the first option is not possible, then code the BADI BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER to convert the provided UOM to match the
ISO Code of the SRM system.
Remember that the check on the ISO Code takes place before the BADI is called so you need to clear the error message regarding the ISO Code from table et_messages.

After you maintain the ISO Code, try to retransfer the PR again from SMQ1, and if there's still error, check to SRM--Tcode SLG1, and see what's the error.

New Unit of measures & ISO codes

We are currently trying to create some new unit of measure in our system which will be used in QM module and are very specific. For this reason, we can't find any corresponding ISO code in our SAP system. SO we have a few question about this point :
1) Could you tell us which UoM is ISO or not among the above list ? For ISO UoM, could you give us the corresponding 3 digits code (field T006I- ISOCODE) we will need to use to create them into our system?
o   AE :                                       Amylogram Equivalent
o   °BX :                                     Brix Degree
o   Cfu/m3:                              Colony Forming Unit per m3
o   IU/kg :                                 International Unit per Kilogram

3) Do you have a website or SAP transaction referencing the entire official ISO codes you've registered?

Can anyone tell me the steps to find out which UOM is not having mapped in GTS vs ECC? It doesnot tell which UOM is not passing. It is in production so can't check in GTS.

Are you seeing this error with the transfer of a particular product?
In the material master MM03 (and table marm) you can see unit of measures defined.
You would need to ensure that an ISO code exists in transaction CUNI for each uom defined relating to the material being transfered to GTS.
