Change owner of marketing document
User is not a super user and when she tries to update the "Owner" field of an SO, she receives the error message. "....not authorized to change document owner...". I checked the authorization settings but dont see any entry related to this. Does anyone know what I can do to make it possible for a non-super user to change the document owner?

Hi Alan !
Any user can edit the Owner in the SO . It does not depends upon the super user previlage .
This relates only to the Authorization .
I suggest you to check the authorization provided to the user in the Administration and Sales Module .

Item Description change at marketing Document
Hi experts ,
I have a typical scenario . Let me describe in detail .
For example --
For Customer A - Item A is called as Apple
For Cusotmer B - Item A is called as Banana
Similarly Customer C......D,E......
And user need that information at marketing document .
My initial though that when I do SO - I will change item description useing Ctrl +tab feature and issue will be solved . But Typing has created a lot of issue . So I need to make it automatic .
If I select customer A , Item A ....It identifies Item Description should be populate as Apple
Similiarly
If I select customer B , Item A ....It identifies Item Description should be populate as Banana
As of now , Apple , Banana is not stored anywhere .. I can utilise UDF or UDT ....
Can you throw some light on this scenario ?

Please try this
U can change the item code for every BP in Documents according to your need
Use the functionality of BP catalog number
Inventory > Inventory management > BP catalog number
Here u can set catalog according to item per BP and also BP per item
For example u have 10 items that are named differently for 10 BP
First select the item tab select one of 10 item in header level
And all 10 BP in row level name them under BP catalog no.
After that do that for rest of nine item
When u want this functionally to work
Open the document in which you want to change name according to BP
Like all sale doc or purchase doc .
In form setting in document tab go to general tab and check Display BP Catalog Number
Do the changes after selecting the item in document other wise only those item will appear for which u have given catalog No for that BP

I am trying to change the owner of a document, when the document meets certain conditions using an Agent (server Extension). The getOwner() method of the PublicObject returns me the DirectoryUser. How do I get the list of DirectoryUsers so that I can select the new owner to be used with the method setOwner() of PublicObject.

Update existing marketing documents with price changes
I am looking for a way to auto update sales order prices when the item price list changes. is this possible? I havent been able to find a way to change the price on an existing marketing document automatically.
Gordon is correct, you need to do it manually. However there is a quick and easy way to update a whole document in one hit...
Open the document, hit form settings, change the price list to a different one, hit OK, it will then ask if you want to update, it doesn't really matter if you say yes or no at this stage. Then go back into form settings, change the price list back again, hit OK and this time when it asks you if you want to update, make sure you say yes.
This will update the document pricing to reflect the current pricing in the price list you have selected. -
Cannot change Due Date in marketing Documents

in another installation with localization Italy i can edit the due date

To change the due date of an installment, perform the following:
Open the relevant document and choose the Accounting tab.
Click the orange link arrow in the Installments field.
In the Installments window, in the Date column, change the required date and choose the OK button.
To save the changes, in the sales or purchasing document, choose the Update button.

it could be done through two ways however i cant give u the query for that as i don't have but could tell u they
one way is through SP that could Solve ur problem nd second way is through SDK but i would not recommend using the SP as sap does not support usage of it
so u can ask other fellow user to provide u with the query for either of the ways
or there is a third way that is most easy out of the others thats is through creating additional authorization
go to admin-system initialization authorization- addiction authorization creator then create a new authorization under the form id please place the "form number.item number" and save the document
and please don't forget to click on items and under option place "Full/Read/None"
and then go to authorization window choose the user id for which u wana place the restriction then move down to user authorization there u would find the authorization that u made in additional authorization creator and assign the authorization as per your requirement

There is no limit in number of UDF but in record length. This a SQL
Server 2000 limitation which establish 8060 bytes as maximum for a
record. This limitation does not exist in MSSQL 2005.
Therefore, in order to be able to add more UDFs you should reduce the
size of the existing UDFs or upgrade the system to MSSQL 2005.
Please refer to the SAP note 816387
The solution to this problem is to decrease the size of the
User Defined Fields. Either by decreasing the length or changing
the definition of "Alpahnumeric" fields to Text, or the last resort
is to remove the fields.
All these actions have to be done via the SAP Business One application.
The change of field type alphanumeric to Text might influence the
performance. -
Remove or Hiding Marketing Documents from SAP Business One.
Hi Everyone,
Is there any way by which a marketing document in SAP Business One can be deleted or be hidden. For example in a Sales A/R module the the client does not want to use or also view the AR downpayment request or AR down payment invoice as it is not required for his business. What is the way to hide or remove it from the user point also during authorization.
I am also seeing that when in the user autorization I am giving full authorization for e.g in Purchase A/P Module - Purchase Order and Good Reciept PO only and when logging in by that assigned user I am only seeing the Purchase Order and Good Reciept PO that's absolutely fine but when I am going in Form Settings and and selecting visible for all the modules then all the marketing documents are coming back which should not come. Is there any way to block the form settings in this moment and when using the tab apply authorization in forms settings the defined authorized documents are comming but if one again clicks on form settings and make all the marketing document visible then again all the marketing documents are comming back which I don't want.
Please let me know your valuable comments in this regard.

I want to know how to change cm_owner property of a document that i am uploading with dynpro java. I have written a code to add new properties for document but i couldn't change the Owner of document. Here is my code for adding a new property :

How can I lock the NumAtCard field in the marketing document screen
Dear Experts,
Is there any way I can lock the marketing documents' (say Goods Receipt PO) BP Ref Number field? meaning if there are already values in the field, I do not want any users to change it.

There are two options to resolve your problem i.e. using DI SDK code and SP_TN.
if you want to to use SDK code, it requires big effort except you have a good programmer.
if you using SP_TN, you could use this following sample:

Try to block in same FBL5N, select particular document, goto environment in menupath select change document and block it and then save. Again run FBL5N check the block indicator.

I need to create a User-Defined field for Marketing Documents under Title and Rows.

Limiting Authorization of one of many UDF in marketing documents

I have created a Additional Authorization Creator for limiting the user from changing the values of UDF Field and its working fine, but the issue is i need to block only one UDF which i have created.
For Eg.
There are some 5 UDF (Header Level UDF) in a marketing document, namely
UDF 1 - Transport Name
UDF 2 - Transport Type
UDF 3 - Vehicle Number
UDF 4 - Driver Number
UDF 5 - Driver Name
I need to block only the UDF 5 from changing and the other UDF's can be changed.
The Additional Authorization Creator which i created block's me from changing all the five UDF Values instead of only that UDF 5 .
What could be reason? Should i need to give any Form Number like what i give 63771 which is for Form Settings?Hi
you can open the document , open the user defined field
go to tools---customization tools ---settings
you will see the list of UDF you can just select which UDF you want to update
you can mark 4 UDF as active and the 5-th UDF as not active but visible
