Change Pointer while deleting a record

Hi everyone,
My question is: Suppose that the change pointers have been enabled for cost center message type. The sender sent a set of cost center data to recx. Now one of those cost center records in sender is deleted; will that cost center in recx also get deleted?

I have an issue though; in my sender a particulat cost center was deleted but it still exits in the recx. I checked first thing if the change pointers were enabled (tcodes BD61, BD50 and BD52. With respect to the cost center field in the idoc everything is enabled. So I am wondering why it dint get deleted in the recx.
all suggestions are welcome ! thanks a lot once again

My design of this development is as follow...
1. Search Page in which users give some search criteria and results will be displayed in the results region on the same page. For each results record I have two buttons like 'Update' and 'Delete' so that users can delete the record or can update the record. For update i created a one more page where users can able to edit and save the data. I have two AM one for Search Page and one for Update Page.

Suppose I have one record in interface table with corresponding error record in error table.When users given the search criteria and hit enter they found a record. It means i have one record in the interface having one error record in the error table and both tables have same transaction id (primary key). So here user first try to update the record and it is working. After update he try to delete a record then I am getting below error. Please note that I am not getting this error when if i directly delete the record with out doing any update before delete. When ever users click on update icon then update PG will open and when users click on Apply button then data is getting updated in the database and page will forward to the search page.
Unable to perform transaction on the record.
Cause: The record contains stale data. The record has been modified by another user.
Action: Cancel the transaction and re-query the record to get the new data.

Why it is necessary to make red while deleting a record?

somecase we have to do it forcibly
in case of full load making red while deleting is not compulsory
but in case of delta it is mandetory

If there si a delta load from source to target system then as soon as the records are read from source and transferred to target to target the data mart status of that particular request(which contains the records) is set to the transferred and next delta is read after wards from that request. However if the request is not made red before delting it the system thins that the data has already reached the target and the next delta load will miss those records which actually have not reached the target.
Hence for delta loads its compulsory to make the request RED bfore deleting it. However in the Full Load case every timem the data load is done all the records are transferred from source to target. Hence even if the records are erroneous in the target they get overwritten by the new correct records. So its not mandatory in this case(but in some special scenarios we may require to mark it red before deleting it like if teh request being deleted is the old request of the cube).

Change pointer + user exit + condition records

Hiii
When creation or modifying condition record that status blank i don't want a change pointer to be generated?
Note that the KBRST field for status is not present in the BD52 transaction thus filtering cannot be done so as for change pointer to not be generated when condition record with status blank.
Please advise if this can be done on a user exit?

Problem faced in form while deleting a record-urgent

we r in the testing stage of our project. we are facing a major problem. In one of the forms deletion is not working.
we did migration from 6i to 10g. we migrated using migration assistant.
in 6i code was working fine.
in 10g record is not getting deleted from database and an error is shown as FRM_40510.
We used the following code.
if :BLK1_OBLIGOR.OBL_TNX_TYPE = 'D' then

The delete allowed property for that block is set to 'YES'.
Pls do help me to find out the problem. The issue is that the same code is working fine in 6i. The trouble is in 10g. Pls do advice me.

FRM-40654 error in master-detail form while deleting record in detail block

I am facing an issue in a custom form which is a Master-detail form while deleting a record in detail block. It is giving an error "FRM-40654 Record has been Updated by another user. Re-query to see change". I have checked the record is matching with that in database.
Can anyone help on this.

master block is based on Table "A" and detail block is based on a View "X".
View "X" definitions includes the tables "A","B","C" etc..
Now I have tried removing table"A" from view "X", even then the same error is ocuuring but the lock is happening on table "B" instead of "A"

Change pointer for Master data

Hello Experts :
If I Configure and Activate Change pointer ,so will it record only existing change or it will update new entry also
Example : Did changes in vendor master payment terms (I know change pointer will work for this).
But if I create any new vendor in system 1 will change pointer will record this change and going to update system 2 and will create this vendor in system 2 ?

Reading deleted field values using change pointer

i am triggering DEBMAS06 using change pointer technique for XD01/02/05/06 transactions.
now when i delete data(make nulll values) in partner functions the generated IDOC is not showing the complete field itself.when i am deleting the field value and making it null the IDOC must send the fields with null values.but unable to trace out how to do this.
can anyone let me know how to handle this situation?
and i have extended DEBMAS06 with customer hierarchy data i.e. KNVH.i have written change pointers.now how can i populate these fields into my extension?

2. To populate KNVH extension you have to populate this only if you have KNVV data.. so you can either create enhance menti perfrom FILL_SEGMENT_E1KNVVM i(nf Function moduler MASTERIDOC_CREATE_DEBMAS) inclduer LVV01F01. or you can write the logic in BAdi CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA->FILL_ALE_SEGMENTS_OWN_D or in user eixt EXIT_SAPLVV01_001.

Error while updating or deleting a record

Hi to all...
i have created atable group_master with 2 fields Group_id and Group_name
the user will specify a group_name in a text box and press save. Before commiting a seq number will be generated
inside the form procedure and it will be inserted.
The insert is working fine.
But when i select a record i.e a group_name and change it contents and commit it, it is not commiting.
when i checked the display error it showed Ora-01400 cannot insert null values into the table.
Iam not inserting a value here iam updating the group name only.
even when i delete a record it shows same error....
can any one help to solve this....

it is correctly fetching the delected data. but propmpts a message box asking Do u want to save the record?
if i ignore it n modify the group_name and save it,still it shows unable to insert null value.
i jus want a simple way to solve this....
i want to fetch that particular record and modify or delete it.
group_id n group_name cannot be null.
i will be using Buttons for add,delete,update and save record. i will be using lov to fetch records for modification or deletion.
how to avoid the message box which prompts when i call lov with execute_query.....
* I tried Key-listval...but i didnt get any solution. i will try again....

How to reduce time while deleting more than 300K records ?

I am using SQL SEVER 2008 R2. I've a doubt, if there any possible to reduce executing time while deleting more than 3 lakhs records. I will explain about the table structure. Table_Name : test. In that table have 15 Columns , 6 Indexes ,Foreign and
Primary Key releationships.
Query : DELETE FROM test WHERE roleid=1 [roleid is not primary key]
Message: (308240 row(s) affected)
Time : 28 seconds.

I suppose Roleid has index on it ?. 3 lac records getting deleted in 28 sec i think its ok as delete operation takes exclusive lock .Exclusive lock is not compatible with other locks so some delay might be expected
You should check blocking process if any by using sp_who2 to see if your process is waiting on any resource or is blocked by some other SPID.

Change pointer for functional location- deletion flag & activation status

Hello,
Im trying to use change pointer for functional location outbound interface. I did all required settings in BD52. The problem is with deletion flag and acive/deactive status.
I found that those two are stored in:
table     field
TAPL     LOEKZ
TAPL     PARKZ
The problem I have is that I cannot find the object for those table, and due to that it cannot be customized in BD52.
Could You please advise which object class should I use or alternatively which other table/field and object should I type in to activate change poiters for deletion flag and active/ not active status?
For object IFLO, and its table (IFLOT, IFLOTX, ILOA)- there is no field for del flag and active status.

Hi, standard didnt let us fulfilling this requirement. What we did- we extended table IFLOT with additional field for the status and used an user exit when saving FL, to take the value (status) from table JEST/TJ02T and copy the value to the newly created field. Then BD52, iflo, iflot, and the new field and it worked. Of course the function module for the message type (BD60) had to be changed to add this status value in additional segment/field for the idoc. Hope this will help You, as there is a lot of technical background behind it, and this is only functional overview.

Delete all record in a table, the insert speed is not change.

I have an empty table, and i insert a record need 100ms,
when this table has 40,0000 record, i insert a record need 1s, this is ok, because i need do a compare based an index before insert a record, so more record, need more time.
The problem is when i delete all record in this table, the insert time is still 1s, not reduce to 100ms.Why?

Read through this portion of oracle documentation

The reason is still taking 1s, because when you inserted 400K record because HWM (The high water mark is the boundary between used and unused space in a segment.) moved up. And when you deleted all the records your HWM still at the same marker and didn't get to reset to 0. So when you insert 1 record it lookings for free space and after finding (generally a regular inserts got 6 steps it inserts data). If you truncate your table you and try it again it will be faster as your HWM is reset to 0.

Delete duplicate records based on condition

I am scratching my head as how to select one record from a group of duplicate records based upon column condition.
Let's say I have a table with following data :

8     10/17/2008   10/23/2008     124     3     6                 |                            2From the above records the rule to identify duplicates is based on START_DATE,+END_DATE+,+ITEM_ID+.
Hence the duplicate sets are {1,2,3} and {4,5,6,7}.
Now I want to keep one record from each duplicate set which has lowest value for retail/mult(retail divided by mult) and delete rest.
So from the above table data, for duplicate set {1,2,3}, the min(retail/mult) is 2. But records 2 & 3 have same value i.e. 2
In that case pick either of those records and delete the records 1,2 (or 3).
All this while it was pretty straight forward for which I was using the below delete statement.
DELETE FROM table_x a
      WHERE ROWID >
               (SELECT MIN (ROWID)
                  FROM table_x b
                 WHERE a.ID = b.ID
                   AND a.start_date = b.start_date
                   AND a.end_date = b.end_date
                   AND a.item_id = b.item_id);Due to sudden requirement changes I need to change my SQL.
So, experts please throw some light on how to get away from this hurdle.

But I have to update the STATUS_ID as well for these duplicate records.

WHERE ROW_NUM = 1
AND t2.id != t1.id
AND t2.START_DATE = t1.START_DATE
AND t2.END_DATE = t1.END_DATE
AND t2.ITEM_ID = t1.ITEM_IDInfact the entire where_ clause in the inner select statement must be in the update where clause, which makes it totally impossible as T2 is persistent only with in the first select statement.
Any thoughts please ?
